Best Perfume-Inspired Fragrance Oils for Candle Making

Nineteen designer-inspired oils, grouped by character, with live prices at 50g, 100g and 1kg, honest cost-per-candle maths, and the naming and product-copy rules that keep your listings online. These are independent interpretations, not the original fragrances.
₹449 – ₹2,406
per 100g across the tier · ₹4.50 to ₹24.06 per gram · CSI live pricing, August 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What exactly are these oils? Independent interpretations built to evoke the character of well-known fragrances. They are not the original products, are not made by or affiliated with those perfume houses, and the fragrance names are trademarks of their respective owners. You are buying a note structure, not a brand.

Can I name my candle after the perfume? No. Give the candle your own name, describe it by its notes, and use none of the original brand's imagery, bottle cues or packaging. This is the single change that protects your listings, your payment gateway and your business.

What do they cost to pour? ₹235 to ₹548 in materials for a 200g candle at an 8% load, against about ₹209 for a mainstream citrus candle. That demands a retail price of roughly ₹699 to ₹1,849, not ₹599.

How many should I stock? Two or three, as a small hero tier above your own signature range — never as the whole catalogue.
The short answer
Buy: two or three only — Baccarat Rouge 540 (₹1,118/100g) for width, Best Acqua Di Gio inspired (₹1,412/100g) for the fresh masculine buyer, Lattafa Khamrah inspired (₹1,024/100g) for festive gourmand.
The legal line: these are independent interpretations, not the originals and not affiliated with any house. Never use a trademarked fragrance name as your product name.
The commercial line: highest cost per candle in the range, real reformulation risk, and no scent identity of your own. Use them as a hero tier, not a business model.
Launching a designer-inspired candle — the order that keeps you trading 1 — Settle the naming first: your name, your imagery, notes-only description 2 — Choose 2–3 hero scents at 50g or 100g · never a whole range 3 — Cost it: ₹235–₹548 materials per 200g candle 4 — Price at ₹699–₹1,849, or don't pour it 5 — Name a fallback scent
Every step above is cheap except the ones people skip. Naming costs nothing to get right at the start and a suspended marketplace account to get wrong later; costing takes ten minutes and decides whether the product is profitable at all.
Straight answer
Which perfume-inspired fragrance oils should a candle maker actually buy?
Buy two or three, not a range. The widest-appeal entry is Baccarat Rouge 540 at ₹1,118 per 100g — a saffron-amber-woody profile that reads as expensive to almost every customer regardless of what they normally wear. For the fresh masculine buyer, Best Acqua Di Gio inspired at ₹1,412 per 100g. For the gourmand oriental buyer who dominates Indian festive gifting, Lattafa Khamrah inspired at ₹1,024 per 100g. If you want to test whether your customers will pay a premium at all before spending real money, start with Love Spell at ₹449 per 100g, the cheapest oil in this tier. Two things must be settled before you pour any of them. First, the naming: these are independent interpretations, not the original fragrances, and your candle needs your own name and a notes-based description. Second, the price: a 200g candle in this tier costs ₹235 to ₹548 in materials, which is up to two and a half times a mainstream candle, and it has to retail accordingly. Get those two right and this is the most profitable tier you can stock. Get either wrong and it is the most expensive mistake in the catalogue.
One line: two or three inspired oils as a hero tier, renamed in your own words, priced at ₹699–₹1,849 retail — never a whole range built on other people's fragrances.
Testing before you commit? Most of this tier ships in a 50g size from ₹249 — roughly three 200g candles, which is enough to burn-test one, photograph one and let a customer smell one. Start there, not at 1kg.
Browse the tier
The oil is legitimate. The way it gets described on a product page is what causes trouble, and that part is entirely within your control.

What these oils are. A designer-inspired or perfume-inspired fragrance oil is an independent perfumer's interpretation, created to evoke the character and note structure of a well-known fragrance. It is not the original product. It is not made by, licensed by, endorsed by or affiliated with the perfume house whose fragrance it references, it does not contain that house's formula, and it is not sold as a substitute for it. Every fragrance name referenced on these product pages — and in this guide — is a trademark of its respective owner, used only to describe the scent direction the oil interprets. CSI supplies these oils as raw material for candles, diffusers and other scented products; what you make and how you describe it is your decision and your responsibility.

That distinction is not a formality. It is the whole basis on which this category trades, and it holds only as long as the finished product is honest about itself. Which brings us to your product copy.

1
Do not use a trademarked fragrance name as your candle's product nameNot in the title, not in the variant name, not in the URL handle, not in the alt text, and not as a hashtag doing the same job. "Ombré Leather Candle" is a product name that uses somebody else's trademark. "Saddle & Smoke" is yours.
2
Do not borrow the original brand's visual identityNo bottle silhouettes, no signature colour blocking, no cap shapes, no typography lifted from the original packaging, no photograph of the perfume next to your candle. Trade dress is protected the same way a name is, and a lookalike label is often the thing that gets noticed first.
3
Do not claim the candle "is", "contains" or is a "dupe of" the designer fragranceIt contains none of it. Claims of equivalence are the clearest form of the problem, and they are also simply untrue: a fragrance oil engineered to survive a 200g melt pool is a different composition from an alcoholic perfume engineered for skin.
4
Describe the scent by its notes and character insteadThis works better anyway. "Saffron and bitter almond over cedar, amber and a resinous woody base" tells a customer what the candle actually smells like. A borrowed brand name tells them only that you had nothing of your own to say.
5
Assume marketplaces and payment processors will act on a complaintAmazon, Flipkart, Meta, Etsy and most Indian payment gateways operate notice-based takedown systems. They rarely adjudicate; they remove the listing, and in repeat cases they close the account and hold the settlement. The seller who loses is you, not the supplier.
The test that settles it
Read your own product page and ask: would a reasonable customer come away believing this candle is made by, licensed by or connected to that perfume house? If the answer is yes or even maybe, rewrite it. If the answer is no, and the scent description stands on its own notes, you are on solid ground.
The fix costs nothing and takes an afternoon. Give every candle in this tier a name of your own, write a two-line note pyramid for each, and shoot your own photography in your own jars. You will end up with a range that can survive a supplier change, a reformulation or a takedown notice — none of which is true of a range whose entire identity is borrowed. This is not a lecture about ethics. It is the cheapest business insurance available to a small candle brand.

The commercial case, honestly stated

There is a real reason this tier sells, and pretending otherwise helps nobody. Recognition shortcuts discovery. The single hardest thing about selling a scented candle online is that the customer cannot smell it. Every word of your description is an attempt to close that gap, and most of it fails. A scent direction the customer already knows they like closes the gap instantly — they are not being asked to gamble on a stranger's adjectives, they are being offered something whose character they can already imagine. That is why these oils convert at a higher rate than an unfamiliar accord at the same price, and why they perform particularly well in gifting, where the buyer is choosing for someone else and wants a safe bet.

They also carry a premium naturally. A customer who accepts that a candle smells like an expensive perfume expects to pay more for it than for a vanilla candle, which is exactly the permission a small brand needs in order to price above ₹999. Given that the materials genuinely cost more, that permission is not a trick — it is a fair exchange.

The trade-off
What you get and what you take on
The appeal The corresponding risk
Instant recognition — the customer already knows they like this direction The recognition belongs to the original, not to you. The reorder is loyalty to a perfume, and it moves the day someone else stocks the same oil cheaper.
Shortcuts the discovery problem that kills most online candle listings You never learn what your own customers actually want, because the data is contaminated by a name you did not create.
Justifies a ₹999–₹1,849 retail price without an argument Highest cost per candle in the range — ₹235 to ₹548 in materials against ₹209 for mainstream. Margin percentage is often worse, not better.
Strong gifting and corporate performance Reformulation and discontinuation risk. Complex inspired accords depend on many raw materials; if one becomes restricted or unavailable, the oil changes or goes.
Immediate credibility for a young brand Brand-building failure. A range built entirely on other people's fragrances builds no scent identity of your own, and you cannot sell a business that owns nothing.

Take the reformulation risk seriously. This is the one that catches established makers, not beginners. A hero product doing 40% of your festive revenue is a wonderful thing right up to the moment the oil behind it changes character or leaves the catalogue. With your own signature blend you can reformulate quietly. With an interpretive oil you cannot: customers bought it because it smelled like something specific, and a near-miss reads as a downgrade. The mitigation is simple and most people skip it — name a fallback for every hero scent before you launch it, and keep the fallback in the same character family so the transition is a nudge rather than a cliff. If Rasasi Hawas is your hero, Rasasi Hawas Ice inspired is the obvious neighbour at a lower cost.

The CSI principle
Rent recognition for two or three products. Own the rest.
A hero tier of two or three inspired scents sitting above eight or ten scents of your own is a brand with a headline. Fifteen inspired scents and nothing else is a shelf in someone else's shop. The first can raise prices, survive a reformulation and be sold as a business. The second cannot do any of those things.

The 19 oils, grouped by character

Grouped by what they actually smell like, so you can pick coverage rather than collecting names. All prices are CSI live pricing as of August 2026. Per-gram figures use 1kg pricing, and the per-candle fragrance cost assumes a 200g finished candle at an 8% load, which is 16g of oil. Where an oil is described below, the notes describe the CSI interpretation — not the original fragrance, which is a trademark of its owner and is not sold here.

Fresh masculine and aquatic

The strongest-performing group for men's gifting, office and hotel-style formats, and the group with the widest price spread in the entire range. These are bright, saline, citrus-and-woody-amber compositions with excellent cold throw — they announce themselves in a closed jar, which sells well at a market stall.

1
Fresh masculine · the group's best value
Best Acqua Di Gio inspired fragrance oil
Marine and citrus over a clean woody-musk base — bergamot and salt air at the top, a green herbal middle, and enough patchouli and cedar underneath to hold it together in a melt pool. This is the most legible scent in the tier: customers who cannot describe what they like in a candle can almost always identify this direction, which makes it a reliable first inspired product. It also suits a wider set of formats than the sweeter oils, working equally well in a 200g jar candle and in a reed diffuser base.

Rasasi Hawas ₹1,653 ₹16,528 ₹16.53 ₹264.45
Club De Nuit Intense inspired ₹2,406 ₹24,056 ₹24.06 ₹384.90

How to read that spread. Club De Nuit Intense inspired at ₹24.06 per gram is the most expensive oil CSI stocks, and it puts ₹384.90 of fragrance into a single 200g candle — more than the wax, wick and jar combined, twice over. It is a genuinely rich blackcurrant-and-birch composition with real depth, and it is the right choice for a ₹1,799 corporate or wedding piece where the material cost is a small part of a large gift budget. It is the wrong choice for a ₹999 retail candle, where it will quietly consume your margin. Rasasi Hawas Ice inspired at ₹9.08 per gram covers a similar fresh-masculine brief for ₹145.28 per candle, and is where most makers should actually start in this group.

Sweet feminine and fruity floral

The largest group, the easiest to sell, and the one where the cheapest oils in the tier live. This is the gifting engine of most Indian candle brands: fruity-floral compositions with a sweet base that customers reach for at Valentine's, Raksha Bandhan, birthdays and bridesmaid hampers. If you are building a Valentine's collection, this is the group you shop.

2
Sweet amber · the widest appeal in the tier
Baccarat Rouge 540
Saffron and bitter almond over jasmine, resolving into a warm amber-woody base with a distinctive sweet-resinous signature. Two things make this the default first purchase in the tier. It is genuinely unisex, which halves the risk of a hero product that only sells to one half of your list, and it is the single most reliable "this smells expensive" reaction in home fragrance — customers who could not name it will still register it as premium. At ₹11.18 per gram it also sits mid-tier rather than at the top, so the maths works at a ₹999–₹1,149 retail price.

Carolina Herrera Good Girl inspired ₹1,785 ₹17,848 ₹17.85 ₹285.57

Love Spell at ₹449 per 100g deserves attention out of proportion to its price. It is a soft cherry-blossom-and-peach floral with a light musk base, it is the cheapest oil in this entire tier at ₹4.50 per gram, and it puts a 200g candle on the shelf for ₹235.28 in materials — comparable to a mainstream vanilla candle. If you want to find out whether your customers will pay a premium for a recognisable scent direction before you commit ₹1,785 to a single 100g bottle, this is how you find out cheaply. Delina inspired is the more sophisticated option in the group — rhubarb, lychee and Turkish rose over vanilla and musk — and it is the one that suits wedding and bridesmaid work. Good Girl inspired is the most expensive here at ₹17.85 per gram: almond and coffee against tuberose and jasmine, a genuinely striking composition, but at ₹285.57 of oil per candle it needs a ₹1,299-plus retail price to work.

Gourmand oriental

The group that matters most in the Indian market. Dates, cinnamon, coffee, tonka, benzoin and vanilla — warm, spiced, edible-adjacent compositions that read as festive and generous rather than sweet. This is what sells in November and December, and it is the group to shop first if you are planning a premium soy range for Diwali on 8 November 2026.

3
Gourmand oriental · the festive workhorse
Lattafa Khamrah inspired fragrance oil
Spiced dates and cinnamon over nutmeg and praline, settling into vanilla, tonka and benzoin with a soft woody-amber finish. This is the most culturally correct scent in the whole tier for an Indian festive collection: it reads as mithai, as sweet spice, as a house prepared for guests, and it does that without any of the cloying quality that makes cheap gourmand oils hard to sit in a room with. It also has genuinely heavy molecules, which means it carries in soy at a lower load than most of this tier — a real cost saving at ₹10.24 per gram.

Khamrah Qahwa ₹1,506 ₹15,056 ₹15.06 ₹240.90

Khamrah Qahwa is the coffee-forward variation on the same idea — roasted Arabic coffee and cardamom over the dates-and-vanilla base — and it is the one to choose for a café-style or dark, masculine-leaning festive piece. Afnan 9 PM inspired runs apple and cinnamon over lavender into vanilla and tonka: lighter, more wearable, and the easiest of the four for a customer who says they do not usually like sweet candles. Into The Night is the darkest — black cherry and plum over amber and sandalwood — and it works beautifully in a black matte jar, which is also the practical answer to its discolouration risk.

Woody leather

The smallest group and the one that solves a specific problem: the customer who finds every sweet candle cloying and every fresh candle thin. Dry, resinous, smoky compositions that hold their character for the whole burn.

4
Woody leather · the premium anchor
Tomford Ombre Leather Inspired Fragrance Oil
Supple leather and cardamom over jasmine and violet, dried down onto patchouli, amber and moss. This is the most distinctive oil in the tier — it does not smell like a candle, which is precisely the reaction that makes people pick it up. It is the natural anchor for a top-of-range piece in a heavy vessel, and it pairs unusually well with a wooden wick, where the crackle reinforces the dry, smoky character. Expect it to sell to fewer customers than Baccarat Rouge 540 and to sell at a higher price to each of them.

Mahogany, teak and black peppercorn over a warm amber-and-oak base. The most commercially proven scent direction in the entire inspired category worldwide, and at ₹8.80 per gram the lowest-cost route into a premium-reading woody candle. It is also one of the few oils in this tier with a 500g size, which matters more than it sounds — it gives you a real step between a 100g trial and a 1kg commitment. If you want one inspired oil that can carry a men's gifting line, a hotel-style range and a corporate order without changing, this is it.

Cost per candle and the retail price it demands

Here is the whole tier in one table, ranked by what it costs to pour. Every row uses the same fixed base: 184g of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at ₹110.20 (₹5,999 per 10kg), one Eco Candle Wick Thin C1 at ₹5.90 (₹590 per 100) and one Amber Shiny Glass Jar with Black Lid at ₹47.20 (₹236 per pack of 5). That is ₹163.30 fixed. The only variable is 16g of oil at 1kg pricing. Suggested retail applies the standard rule that materials should be roughly 30–35% of the retail price.

Club De Nuit Intense inspired ₹24.06 ₹384.90 ₹163.30 ₹548.20 ₹1,599–₹1,849

Read the top and bottom rows together. A Zesty Lemon candle costs ₹217.70 to pour. A Club De Nuit Intense inspired candle costs ₹548.20 — two and a half times as much for the same wax, the same wick and the same jar. Everything on that extra ₹330 depends on your customer accepting a retail price around ₹1,799 instead of ₹699. If they will, this is an excellent business. If they will not, you have converted a healthy margin into an expensive one. This decision is made before you buy the oil, not after you have poured it. The full argument on whether the price step is worth it is in our premium versus cheap fragrance oils guide.

100g, 500g or 1kg — and the missing step

Sizing matters more in this tier than anywhere else, because the amounts of money involved are larger. The standing arithmetic is the same as everywhere on this site: 100g makes about six 200g candles at an 8% load, 500g makes about 31, and 1kg makes about 62. What differs here is the ladder itself.

1
50g — the trial, from ₹249About three 200g candles. Burn-test one, photograph one, put one in front of a customer. All nineteen oils in this tier ship in a 50g size, so there is no excuse for a blind purchase.
2
100g — the launch size, from ₹449About six candles. Enough for a small first drop and a market stall. This is where a new inspired scent should enter your catalogue, without exception — at ₹1,785 for 100g of Good Girl inspired, an untested guess at 1kg is a ₹17,848 mistake.
3
500g — the BBW-inspired eight only, from ₹2,499About 31 candles. Mahogany Teakwood, Dahlia, Butterfly, Into The Night, Gingham Heart of Gold, Freshwater, Forever Red and Love Spell all offer this step. The perfume-house oils do not.

1kg — proven sellers and confirmed orders, from ₹4,499About 62 candles. For most of this tier this is the only step above 100g, which means a jump of ₹9,000 to ₹24,000 in one move. Do it against a signed festive, wedding or corporate order, or against at least two reorder cycles of evidence.
The missing 500g step is a real planning problem. On Club De Nuit Intense inspired the ladder is ₹1,203 → ₹2,406 → ₹24,056. There is no gentle middle. If a scent is selling faster than 100g at a time but you are not ready for a kilogram, the answer is to buy 100g repeatedly and accept the reordering overhead, or to message us on WhatsApp before your festive run so stock is held against your production dates. Working back from Diwali on 8 November 2026, fragrance needs to be decided and ordered by late August or early September to leave room for testing, a 21-day cure, the production run and packing.

Load, cure and discolouration: the technical block

These oils behave differently from single-note fragrances, and the differences all cost money if you get them wrong.

Load — resist the temptation to push it

The instinct with an expensive oil is to run it high so the customer definitely notices. That is exactly backwards. Complex inspired accords are usually built at high fragrance strength already, and in soy the limiting factor is the wax's ability to hold and release the oil, not the quantity you add. Run 8–10% and no more. Overshooting does not increase throw; it produces sweating, poor melt-pool behaviour, wick drowning and a candle that smells sharp when cold and thin when lit.

The economics reinforce the point. On a 200g candle, every extra 1% of load is 2g of oil. At ₹4.50 per gram that is ₹9 per candle; at ₹24.06 per gram it is ₹48.12 per candle. Push a Club De Nuit Intense inspired candle from 8% to 12% and you have added ₹192 of cost per unit for no gain in performance. Match the load to your wax ceiling and stop there: Luxury Soy Wax Chunks are rated up to 13%, and Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 up to 10%.

Wax compatibility
Which wax for a designer-inspired candle
Wax Best for Load From
Luxury Soy Wax Chunks Jar candles; the default for this tier and the highest load headroom Up to 13% ₹299 / 500g
Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (flakes) Single-pour containers, low frosting, strong glass adhesion — best finish for a premium price point Up to 10% ₹260 / 500g
Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 Top-of-range pieces; smoother finish and a softer, fuller throw that suits amber and leather accords Standard ₹325 / 500g
Eco Soy CSI 400 Beginners testing the tier; one-pour, no additives, fragrance added at 80–90°C with two minutes of stirring Standard ₹399 / 1kg
Soy Pillar Wax Moulded and sculptural pieces where the form carries the premium as much as the scent Standard ₹300 / 500g

Cure — 21 days, not 14

Fourteen days is the soy minimum. This tier needs the full 21. These are layered compositions with heavy amber, oud, tonka, benzoin and musk bases, and those materials continue to bind into the wax long after the top notes have settled. A Khamrah-inspired or Good Girl-inspired candle judged at day seven smells like its top accord and nothing else, which is why makers occasionally conclude that an expensive oil "does not work in soy" when what they have actually done is judge an unfinished candle. Cure lids-on, in a closed box, at room temperature, away from sunlight — and burn-test in a closed room of a realistic size rather than an open studio. If the throw still disappoints after a full cure, work through the weak throw diagnosis guide before you blame the oil.

Build the cure into your calendar
Twenty-one days of cure is three weeks of capital sitting on a shelf, and on a tier this expensive that is real money idle. Plan production so the cure runs during a quiet period, not during your festive dispatch window. This alone is why fragrance for Diwali must be ordered in late August or early September.

Discolouration — plan for it, do not discover it

Several oils in this tier contain vanillin and related materials, which oxidise and can turn white soy wax cream, ivory or tan over several weeks. It is cosmetic, not a fault, and it is entirely predictable: the gourmand oriental group is most affected, along with the sweeter members of the feminine group. On a candle retailing at ₹1,199 a customer will not accept "it does that" as an explanation, so decide the vessel before you decide the range.

Three practical answers. Use an opaque or tinted vessel — amber glass, black matte or brown matte — which suits this tier's positioning anyway. Or colour the wax deliberately with a liquid candle dye so that any shift is invisible against an intended colour. Or restrict your clear-glass formats to the fresh masculine and aquatic group, which is far less prone to it. Detailed guidance is in our note on luxury fragrance oils for premium soy candles.

One last technical point: add the oil at the temperature your wax specifies and stir for a full two minutes. For Eco Soy CSI 400 that is 80–90°C. Adding oil to wax that is too cool leaves it poorly bound and it separates; too hot and you flash off the bright top notes, which on a ₹14-per-gram oil is money evaporating out of the pouring jug. Pair with Eco Candle Wicks sized to your jar diameter, or with wooden wicks for the woody leather group where the crackle earns its keep.

Borrowed recognition sells the first candle. Only your own name sells the fourth.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. We have no interest in pushing you toward the ₹24,056 kilogram — we stock oils from ₹2,832 per kilogram to ₹24,056 per kilogram and we would rather you bought the one that fits your price point and reordered it. This guide argues for a two-or-three-scent hero tier rather than a full designer-inspired range precisely because that is what the order data shows survives: makers who buy the whole category rarely reorder it.

On the legal position: the oils described here are independent interpretations, not the original fragrances, and are not made by or affiliated with the perfume houses whose fragrances they reference. All fragrance names mentioned are trademarks of their respective owners. This guide sets out general commercial good practice for product copy; it is not legal advice, and for a specific dispute or a large commercial launch you should take your own.

Every price, size and product link is taken from live CSI stock in August 2026 and links directly to the product page, where current pricing always takes precedence. Cost-per-candle figures are calculated, not estimated, and the inputs are named so you can check the arithmetic against your own jar and wick. Frequently asked questions

What is a perfume-inspired or designer-inspired fragrance oil?
It is an independent perfumer's interpretation, built to evoke the character and note structure of a well-known fragrance without being that fragrance. It is not the original product, it is not made by or affiliated with the perfume house, and it does not contain the original formula. The names referenced are trademarks of their respective owners. Buy it for the scent profile it delivers in wax, not as a substitute for a designer perfume.
Can I name my candle after the designer perfume it was inspired by?
No. Do not use a trademarked fragrance or house name as your candle's product name, and do not borrow the original brand's imagery, bottle shape, colour-coding or packaging cues. Do not claim your candle is, contains or is a dupe of the designer fragrance. Give the candle your own name and describe it by its notes and character. Marketplaces and payment processors act on trademark complaints quickly, and the account they suspend is yours, not the supplier's.
Which designer-inspired fragrance oil should a candle brand start with?
Pick two or three, not a range. Baccarat Rouge 540 at ₹1,118 per 100g is the widest-appeal entry and reads as expensive to almost everyone. Best Acqua Di Gio inspired at ₹1,412 per 100g covers the fresh masculine buyer, and Lattafa Khamrah inspired at ₹1,024 per 100g covers the gourmand oriental buyer who dominates Indian festive gifting. Love Spell at ₹449 per 100g is the cheapest way to test whether your customers will pay a premium at all.
What does a designer-inspired candle cost to make in India?
Between roughly ₹235 and ₹548 in materials for a 200g candle at an 8% fragrance load, against about ₹209 for a mainstream citrus candle. The fixed base is ₹163.30 for 184g of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, one Eco Wick and an amber glass jar. The variable is 16g of oil, which costs ₹71.98 with Love Spell and ₹384.90 with Club De Nuit Intense inspired at 1kg pricing. Treat materials as 30–35% of retail and the range prices at roughly ₹699 to ₹1,849.
How many designer-inspired oils should a candle brand stock?
Two or three, held as a hero tier above your own signature range. A catalogue built entirely on other people's fragrances builds no scent identity of its own, so every reorder belongs to the original perfume rather than to your brand. It also carries reformulation and discontinuation risk: if a hero oil changes or goes out of stock, a range that depends on it loses its bestseller overnight. Keep a named fallback for every hero scent.
Do designer-inspired fragrance oils need a longer cure than ordinary oils?
Usually yes. These are complex multi-accord compositions and they need the full 21 days rather than 14 before you judge them, because the heavier amber, oud, tonka and musk bases keep developing after the top notes settle. Run 8–10% load in soy, not more: Luxury Soy Wax Chunks are rated up to 13% and CSI 464 up to 10%, and pushing the load on an oil costing ₹24 per gram wastes money without adding throw.
