Buy 10 Kg Lavender Fragrance Oil for Candle Manufacturing

What does 10 kg cost? 10 × ₹5,221 = ₹52,210 for Lavender Fragrance Oil. 10 kg of Lavender Cranberry Coconut = 10 × ₹7,999 = ₹79,990. 10 kg of Lavender Oud = 10 × ₹12,000 = ₹1,20,000.
Does the price drop at 10 kg? Not automatically, and not on the website. CSI publishes no volume slab, no bulk rate, no minimum order quantity and no credit term — so do not plan around one. A manufacturer buying at this volume should send the specification on WhatsApp (+91 7397976926) and ask for a quote. We are not promising you a discount here.
How many candles is 10 kg? At 8% fragrance load in a 200 g candle, 16 g per candle, so 625 candles. That is a production run, not a stock-up.
625 candles: what 10 kg of lavender actually converts into
CSI states fragrance load as a percentage of the finished candle weight, not of the wax weight. A 200 g candle at 8% is therefore 16 g of fragrance oil and 184 g of wax. Divide 10,000 g of oil by 16 g and you get 625 candles. That single figure should decide whether this purchase is sensible before any price is discussed: if your lavender line does not sell 625 units inside a period you are comfortable financing, the correct order is 1 kg, not 10.
The conversion moves fast with both candle size and load, and the swing is larger than most people expect. Below is the full grid for 10 kg of oil. Read it as the number of finished candles one 10 kg purchase yields — the spread runs from 256 candles to 1,666 candles across the same invoice.
| Candle | At 6% | At 8% | At 10% | At 13% |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 100 g | 6 g oil → 1,666 candles | 8 g oil → 1,250 candles | 10 g oil → 1,000 candles | 13 g oil → 769 candles |
| 150 g | 9 g oil → 1,111 candles | 12 g oil → 833 candles | 15 g oil → 666 candles | 19.5 g oil → 512 candles |
| 200 g | 12 g oil → 833 candles | 16 g oil → 625 candles | 20 g oil → 500 candles | 26 g oil → 384 candles |
| 300 g | 18 g oil → 555 candles | 24 g oil → 416 candles | 30 g oil → 333 candles | 39 g oil → 256 candles |
Fragrance cost per candle follows directly. At ₹5,221 per kilogram, Lavender Fragrance Oil is ₹5.221 per gram, so a 200 g candle at 8% carries ₹83.54 of fragrance. At 6% it is ₹62.65; at 10% it is ₹104.42. Those three numbers are the ones that belong in your costing sheet, and if you have not built one yet, the 2026 pricing guide sets out the method. A useful cross-check on the whole batch: wax in kilograms × (load ÷ (1 − load)) = oil in kilograms, so 115 kg of wax at 8% takes exactly 10.0 kg of oil. If instead you mean 8% of the wax weight, 10 kg of oil goes with 125 kg of wax and you make 675 candles of 208 g. Decide which convention your recipe sheet uses and write it down, because this is the single commonest cause of a wrong bulk order.
The rest of the bill: what 625 candles costs besides the fragrance
A 10 kg fragrance order does not stand alone. It arrives attached to 115 kg of wax (625 × 184 g), 625 vessels, 625 wicks and 625 wick stickers. Priced from live CSI stock in real pack sizes only — because CSI sells packs, not kilogram quantities cut to order — the run looks like this.
| Line | Real packs bought | Quantity | Cost | Share |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Luxury Soy Wax Chunks | 11 × 10 kg at ₹5,999 + 1 × 5 kg at ₹2,995 | 115 kg | ₹68,984 | 47.47% |
| Lavender Fragrance Oil | 10 × 1 kg at ₹5,221 — the largest pack there is | 10 kg | ₹52,210 | 35.92% |
| 200 ml Salsa Glass Jar | 6 × 100 Pcs at ₹2,950 + 5 × 5 Pcs at ₹200.60 | 625 jars | ₹18,703 | 12.87% |
| Eco Candle Wicks, Thin (C1) | 500 at ₹2,950 + 100 at ₹590 + 50 at ₹295 | 650 wicks | ₹3,835 | 2.64% |
| Candle Wick Stickers | 16 sheets of 40 at ₹100 | 640 stickers | ₹1,600 | 1.10% |
| Total raw materials | — | 625 candles | ₹1,45,332 | 100% |
There is the finding a manufacturer needs. The ₹52,210 fragrance invoice sits inside a raw-material bill of ₹1,45,332 — 2.78 times its own size — and fragrance is 35.92% of it, second to wax at 47.47%. Per candle the bill is ₹232.53, of which ₹83.54 is lavender, ₹110.37 is wax, ₹29.92 is the jar, ₹6.14 is the wick and ₹2.56 is the sticker. Nothing here includes labour, lids, cartons, packaging, freight, GST or wastage. It is the floor, not the cost.
Ten bottles, ten batch codes — the part that actually decides the run
A fragrance oil is a compounded blend. Each production batch of that blend carries a code, and two codes of the same oil can differ very slightly in strength and in colour while both being entirely correct product. On a 50 g bottle nobody ever notices. On a 625-candle run, split across ten bottles that may span more than one code, it can show up as a difference between the first hundred candles and the last hundred — a lavender that reads a shade deeper in the jar, or a hot throw that a careful customer describes as slightly stronger on one order than the next. Neither candle is faulty. They are simply not identical, and if they are sitting side by side on the same shelf, identical is what you sold.
The kilogram is not a discount — and on this oil it is barely a saving
Here is the arithmetic on our own catalogue. Lavender Fragrance Oil is ₹2,620 for 500 g and ₹5,221 for 1 kg. Two 500 g bottles therefore cost ₹5,240 and the kilogram costs ₹5,221 — the kilogram saves ₹19. Across ten kilograms that is ten lots of ₹19, or about ₹190 in total: roughly 0.36% of a ₹52,400 spend. It is one hundred and ninety rupees on a fifty-two thousand rupee order. Nobody should change a purchasing decision over it, and no manufacturer should walk into this expecting a volume break, because CSI has not published one.
| Oil | 10 kg as 20 × 500 g | 10 kg as 10 × 1 kg | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lavender Fragrance Oil | ₹52,400 | ₹52,210 | Kilogram saves ₹190 — 0.36% |
| Lavender Cranberry Coconut | ₹79,980 | ₹79,990 | Kilogram costs ₹10 more |
| Lavender Oud | ₹1,24,000 | ₹1,20,000 | Kilogram saves ₹4,000 — 3.23% |
Three oils, three different answers, and on one of them the kilogram is dearer than two half-kilos. Buying 10 kg as a hundred 100 g bottles at ₹540 would cost ₹54,000 — ₹1,790 more than ten kilograms, or 3.31% — so the pack ladder does do something; it just does very little between 500 g and 1 kg on this particular scent. The real reasons to order ten kilograms of one lavender are supply continuity and batch consistency: one purchase covers the whole run, you are not re-ordering mid-season, and you have the best available chance of pouring 625 candles from a narrow set of codes. Those are operational reasons, and they are worth money. The invoice is not where the gain lives. Storage, handling and paperwork for ten open-able bottles
Ten one-kilogram bottles is roughly ten litres of material that you now own and have to keep in condition for as long as the run takes. Treat it as stock, not as a shelf item near the bench.
Keep it cool, dark and sealed, and keep it away from the pour area. Fragrance materials are sensitive to heat, light and air, and the pour area is the hottest, brightest, most disturbed part of a candle workshop. A closed cupboard or a sealed crate in the coolest room you have, off the floor, out of direct sun, with the caps tight and the bottles upright, is the whole specification. Nine bottles stay closed. One is open. Wipe the neck and re-cap immediately after decanting rather than leaving a bottle open through a pour session — headspace air is the thing you are protecting the oil from, and an open bottle on a warm bench for two hours is a small avoidable loss on every pour.
On shelf life, we will not give you a number, because CSI publishes none. You will find confident figures elsewhere; we are not going to invent one for a page you might plan a purchase around. What we can tell you is what to do instead: keep the delivery documentation with the stock, keep the batch codes recorded, request the MSDS and IFRA documentation for the oil and file it with the invoice, and judge the condition of the material by the material — a sealed bottle stored cool and dark, checked on opening against your reference candle, tells you more than a date printed on a website ever would. If your run is going to extend a long way, say so when you enquire and ask what documentation comes with the consignment.
Turnover, working capital, and what has to be true before you order
₹52,210 of one scent is working capital that stops moving until the candles sell. The question is not whether you can afford the order; it is how long the money is asleep. At 8% in a 200 g candle you consume 16 g per candle, so the clearance window is set entirely by your monthly lavender volume.
| Lavender candles sold / month | Oil consumed / month | 10 kg lasts | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50 candles of 200 g | 800 g | 12.5 months | Too slow. Buy 1 kg or 2 kg at a time |
| 104 candles of 200 g | 1,667 g | 6 months | The edge of sensible, in our judgement |
| 200 candles of 200 g | 3,200 g | 3.1 months | Comfortable. One order covers a quarter |
| 625 candles in one run | 10,000 g | One production run | The case this page is written for |
To be explicit about where that six-month line comes from: it is our editorial judgement, not CSI policy. CSI states no holding period, no recommended stock cover and no shelf life, and nothing in this table is a rule you can hold us to. We think six months is a reasonable outer limit for a single scent at a single load because beyond that you are financing inventory rather than production, and your formulation is likely to have moved anyway. Divide 10,000 g by six and you need 1,667 g a month — about 104 candles of 200 g at 8%. If you are not doing that, the honest advice is to buy less and buy more often. How much fragrance oil a candle business actually needs works through the same maths from the other end, and scaling to 1,000 orders a month covers what changes when the volume is genuinely there.
| Prerequisite | What "in place" means | If it is missing |
|---|---|---|
| A locked formulation | A written load — 6%, 8%, 10% — and the grams that go with it, not "about 8" | You cannot forecast 10 kg at all. The order size is guesswork |
| A wax whose ceiling covers it | 13% headroom on Luxury Soy Chunks, 10% on CSI 464 | You will discover the limit at batch nine, with 90 kg of wax bought |
| A tested wick | Three test burns in the production jar, full pool in two to three hours, no soot | 625 candles that burn wrong is a 625-candle problem |
| A vessel you can resupply | In stock in the pack sizes you need, for the whole run and the reorder after it | A part-finished run and a jar you cannot get again |
| Storage | Cool, dark, sealed, away from the pour area, with room for ten bottles | Ten litres of oil on a warm bench, degrading while you use it |
| A batch-record habit | You already fill in a sheet per batch. Not "you intend to" | No traceability, so one complaint implicates all 625 candles |
One last consideration on timing rather than volume. Diwali falls on 8 November 2026, and a 625-candle run has to be poured, cured and packed before it ships. If lavender is part of a festive range, the decision on 10 kg belongs well ahead of the pour, not in the same week — how early to order fragrance for Diwali sets out the working-back schedule, and wholesale raw materials across India covers consolidating the rest of the bill into the same consignment. If you are still choosing between lavender and something else for the volume line, the 2026 fragrance round-up and premium versus cheap fragrance oils are the two worth reading first.
CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. The commercially convenient version of this page would have invented a 10 kg drum, implied a volume rate and taken the order. There is no 10 kg drum. Our fragrance-oil ladder is 15 g, 50 g, 100 g, 500 g and 1 kg, and we have said plainly that the kilogram saves ₹19 against two 500 g packs on this oil — about ₹190 across ten kilograms, or 0.36%. A manufacturer who buys on a promise we did not keep does not come back, and reorders are the whole business.
Every price on this page is a live CSI variant price taken in September 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing and specification always take precedence. The 625-candle figure, the 115 kg wax figure and the ₹1,45,332 bill are arithmetic from those prices at a stated 8% load in a 200 g candle, shown so you can check them. The 13% and 10% fragrance ceilings are the wax manufacturers' stated formulation limits for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 — not regulatory limits, and not interchangeable between waxes. CSI publishes no volume slab, no bulk rate, no minimum order quantity, no credit term and no shelf-life figure, and nothing above should be read as one.

Figures verified September 2026. Fragrance: Lavender Fragrance Oil ₹105.02/15 g, ₹270/50 g, ₹540/100 g, ₹2,620/500 g, ₹5,221/1 kg; Lavender Cranberry Coconut ₹133/15 g, ₹399/50 g, ₹799/100 g, ₹3,999/500 g, ₹7,999/1 kg; Lavender Oud ₹1,200/100 g, ₹6,200/500 g, ₹12,000/1 kg (no 15 g or 50 g variant). 1 kg is the largest fragrance-oil pack CSI lists; there is no 2 kg, 5 kg or 10 kg pack. 10 kg figures are multiples of the 1 kg price: 10 × ₹5,221 = ₹52,210; 10 × ₹7,999 = ₹79,990; 10 × ₹12,000 = ₹1,20,000. Two 500 g packs against 1 kg: ₹5,240 vs ₹5,221 (kilogram saves ₹19, so ₹190 across 10 kg, 0.36% of ₹52,400); ₹7,998 vs ₹7,999 (kilogram ₹1 dearer, ₹10 across 10 kg); ₹12,400 vs ₹12,000 (kilogram saves ₹400, so ₹4,000 across 10 kg, 3.23% of ₹1,24,000). 100 × 100 g = ₹54,000, ₹1,790 more than ten kilograms (3.31%). 100% Pure Lavender Essential Oil is listed at ₹6,844/kg and is an essential oil, not a candle fragrance oil; 10 × ₹6,844 = ₹68,440. Run arithmetic: fragrance load is a percentage of finished candle weight, so a 200 g candle at 8% is 16 g oil + 184 g wax; 10,000 g ÷ 16 g = 625 candles; 625 × 184 g = 115 kg of wax; 115 × (0.08 ÷ 0.92) = 10.0 kg of oil. Bill of materials: Luxury Soy Wax Chunks 11 × 10 kg at ₹5,999 + 1 × 5 kg at ₹2,995 = ₹68,984 for 115 kg; Lavender Fragrance Oil 10 × 1 kg = ₹52,210; 200 ml Salsa Glass Jar 6 × 100 Pcs at ₹2,950 + 5 × 5 Pcs at ₹200.60 = ₹18,703 for 625 jars; Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) 500 at ₹2,950 + 100 at ₹590 + 50 at ₹295 = ₹3,835 for 650 wicks (Thick C2 equivalent ₹4,720 + ₹944 + ₹472 = ₹6,136); Candle Wick Stickers 16 sheets of 40 at ₹100 = ₹1,600 for 640 stickers. Total ₹1,45,332, of which fragrance is 35.92%, wax 47.47%, jars 12.87%, wicks 2.64% and stickers 1.10%; per candle ₹232.53. Alternatives priced: CSI 464 11 × 10 kg at ₹5,074 + 1 × 5 kg at ₹2,537 = ₹58,351 (₹10,633 less); White Matte Glass Jar 62 × pack of 10 at ₹708 + 1 × pack of 5 at ₹354 = ₹44,250, giving a ₹1,70,879 bill in which fragrance is 30.55%. Tools: weighing scale ₹354, pen thermometer ₹354, CSI Pro Mixer ₹349, Candle Care Stickers Roll ₹413 per 500. Ceilings: up to 13% for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and up to 10% for Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 — wax-manufacturer formulation limits, not regulatory limits, and the 13% column does not apply to CSI 464. Not published by CSI, and therefore not stated here: any volume slab, bulk rate, minimum order quantity, credit term, delivery time or shelf-life figure. The six-month clearance window is the authors' editorial judgement, not CSI policy. Diwali 2026 falls on 8 November. Prices and availability change — the linked product pages are always authoritative.
