Candle Supplier Guides · Costing
One order for wax, fragrance, wicks and jars, priced twice — as several parcels and as one — with the pack-size saving separated from the consolidation saving, because only one of them needs fewer suppliers.
₹30.94
a candle on this four-line order · of which ₹15.21 genuinely needs one supplier · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
Does consolidating suppliers lower my cost per candle? Yes, by ₹15.21 a candle on the order costed here — ₹5.20 from putting three lines in one parcel and ₹10.01 from the order-value code the combined basket reaches. A further ₹15.73 comes from buying bigger packs, which you could do with four suppliers as easily as one. Total ₹30.94, or 14.33%.

Are there quantity discounts to combine? Not as a per-kilogram ladder. On this order Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 is ₹507.40 a kilogram at 1 kg, 5 kg and 10 kg alike, and the Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) is ₹9.44 a wick at every pack size. The two lines that do step are Roasted Coffee, from ₹3.90 to ₹3.74 a gram, and the jars, from ₹40.12 to ₹29.50 a piece.

How much does combined shipping actually save? ₹260.00 on this order, or ₹5.20 a candle. The wax, oil and wicks together are 12.7 kg of stored packed weight and fall in the same band as the wax by itself, so the oil and wicks travel for nothing. The jars cannot join them: at 53.0 kg that pack sits above every published band.

So is one supplier better than four? On the money, yes, by ₹15.21 a candle here — but the honest reason is the freight band and the basket threshold, not a negotiated rate. Set that against having no second source when a scent is out of stock in October. The arithmetic is 7.04% of materials; the resilience question is yours.
The short answer
₹30.94 a candle on this order: ₹15.73 from pack size, ₹5.20 from one parcel instead of three and ₹10.01 from the order-value code — against ₹215.96 a candle bought in the smallest packs.
Only ₹15.21 of it needs one supplier: the freight band and the basket threshold are the two things four suppliers cannot give you. The ₹15.73 of pack-size saving is available from anyone who sells a bigger pack.
The quantity-discount half is mostly a myth here: CSI publishes no per-kilogram quantity ladder. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 is flat from the 1 kg pack upward and the Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) is flat at every pack; the fragrance and the jars are where the real steps are.
Stored packed weights of a four-line candle materials order against the top of the published delivery bands at 50 kg Where consolidation runs out of roadStored packed weight of each line of one order. What it shows: the stored packed weight of every line of one four-line candle materials order — a 10 kg wax pack, a 1 kg fragrance pack, a 100 wick pack and a 50-piece jar pack — drawn against the 50 kg ceiling above which the store publishes no delivery rate, with the two combinations that matter. Grey bars have a published band and carry its September 2026 price; white bars do not. Deliberately left out: the rupee value of the goods, which is in the tables and runs almost exactly opposite to the weights — the glass is four fifths of the weight and about an eighth of the money.
Straight answer
Does putting wax, fragrance, wicks and jars on one order actually lower cost of goods, and by how much?
It does, by ₹30.94 a candle on the order costed here, and the useful work is in separating the reasons rather than in the total. The order is a 10 kg pack of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at ₹5,074.00, a 1 kg pack of Roasted Coffee at ₹3,738.00, a 100 pack of Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) at ₹944.00 and a 50-piece pack of 200ml Salsa Glass Jar at ₹1,475.00 — ₹11,231.00 of goods, enough for 50 candles at 200 g of wax and 16 g of oil at 8% of wax weight, with fragrance and wicks left over. Bought that way the materials are ₹200.23 a candle. Bought in the smallest pack of each line they are ₹215.96, so ₹15.73 of the difference is pack size — and pack size is available from any supplier who sells a bigger pack, so it is not a consolidation saving at all. What consolidation itself delivers is two things. One parcel instead of three: the wax, oil and wicks have stored packed weights of 11.0 kg, 1.5 kg and 0.2 kg, which shipped separately come to ₹1,460.00 and shipped together fall in a single band at ₹1,200.00 on Standard Shipping — a saving of ₹260.00, or ₹5.20 a candle. One basket instead of four: ₹11,231.00 clears the published HAPPY5 threshold, which is worth ₹561.55 on the order and ₹10.01 a candle. That is ₹15.21 in total, or 7.04% of materials. The half of the premise that does not survive is the quantity discount: CSI publishes no per-kilogram ladder, Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 is ₹507.40 a kilogram at 1 kg, 5 kg and 10 kg alike and the Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) is ₹9.44 a wick at every pack on the store. And consolidation has a hard ceiling: the jar pack alone is 53.0 kg of stored packed weight, above every published band, so it cannot join the parcel at all and is quoted on WhatsApp.
One line: ₹30.94 a candle, of which only ₹15.21 genuinely needs one supplier — and the jars are too heavy to put in the box with everything else.
The four-line order: ₹11,231.00 of goods, 50 candles. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 10 kg ₹5,074.00 (₹507.40/kg) · Roasted Coffee 1 kg ₹3,738.00 (₹3.74/g) · Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) 100 for ₹944.00 (₹9.44 each) · 200ml Salsa Glass Jar 50 pieces ₹1,475.00 (₹29.50 each). That is ₹200.23 of materials a candle at September 2026 pricing.

The premise has two halves, and only one of them is true here

Combined shipping is real and computable. A quantity discount on this store mostly is not.

"Fewer suppliers means better prices and combined shipping" is two claims wearing one coat, and they behave completely differently. Combined shipping is arithmetic: parcels are charged in flat weight bands, several parcels pay several band charges, and one parcel pays one. That is true of any supplier and it is computable here from stored packed weights. Quantity discounts are a fact about a particular price list, and on this store the fact is that no per-kilogram ladder is published. Run the ladder on the lines you buy before you build a saving on it.

The order this page costs is a real four-line month for a small maker. The fill reading carried throughout is 200 g of wax plus 16 g of oil at 8% of wax weight, 216 g poured, because fragrance load is a percentage of wax weight, which is how CSI product pages state it. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 states a maximum load of 10% of total wax weight and the Roasted Coffee page states a soy candle range of 6–10% of total wax weight, so both limits agree and 8% sits inside them. The vessel is priced per piece out of the 50-piece pack; the 200ml Salsa Glass Jar page describes a 200 ml capacity and this page does not convert that to grams or claim a particular pour fits it. The wick is the Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2), the heavier of the two eco wicks, at ₹9.44 each.

One candle is 200 g of wax, 16 g of oil, one vessel and one wick throughout.

Two of those four steps are zero and the page will not pretend otherwise. The wax step of ₹2.52 comes entirely from leaving the 500 g pack: Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 is ₹520.00 a kilogram at 500 g and ₹507.40 at 1 kg, 5 kg and 10 kg alike, so once you are buying kilograms, going from 1 kg to 10 kg changes your cost per candle by nothing. The wick step is ₹0.00, because the Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) is ₹9.44 a wick from the 10 pack to the 1000 pack. The money is in the other two: Roasted Coffee runs from ₹3.90 a gram at 100 g to ₹3.74 at a kilogram, and the jars from ₹40.12 a piece at five to ₹29.50 at fifty. Buying ten five-piece packs instead of one fifty costs ₹531.00 more for identical glass.

The CSI principle
Consolidation buys you a parcel and a basket, not a price list.
On this order that is worth ₹15.21 a candle. The other ₹15.73 you could have had anywhere.

One parcel instead of three, and the line that cannot join it

Glass is four fifths of the weight and about an eighth of the money. That asymmetry decides the whole question.

Delivery is charged in flat bands on stored packed weight rather than on the weight printed on the label, so the first thing to do is look up what each line actually weighs as a parcel. On this order the 10 kg wax pack stores 11.0 kg, the 1 kg fragrance pack 1.5 kg, the 100 wick pack 0.2 kg and the 50-piece jar pack 53.0 kg. Put the first three together and you have 12.7 kg, which falls inside the same published band as the wax on its own. The oil and the wicks therefore travel for nothing, which is the entire mechanism of combined shipping and is worth stating plainly: you are not being given a discount, you are being given a band you had already paid for.

All four lines in one parcel 65.7 kg No published band covers it not available
Saving available — — ₹260.00
Per candle, over 50 — — ₹5.20
Priced above: published flat rate bands as at September 2026, read on the stored packed weights of the exact variants in this order. The store publishes no rate above 50 kg, which is why two rows carry no figure rather than an estimate. Rates are merchant-set and can change; checkout is authoritative. The per-candle line divides by the 50 candles the order yields, which is set by the wax and the jars — the fragrance and the wicks stretch further and carry into the next order, so the true figure sits a little under ₹5.20.

Now look at what those weights mean commercially rather than logistically. The glass is 53.0 kg of a 65.7 kg order and ₹1,475.00 of a ₹11,231.00 basket. It is four fifths of what you are paying to move and about an eighth of what you are paying for. Everything useful about consolidating this order follows from that: the three light, valuable lines combine beautifully, and the heavy, cheap one has to travel on its own terms whatever you do. If you are choosing which suppliers to consolidate first, consolidate the light ones — the wax, the oil, the wicks, the dyes, the stickers — and treat glass as a separate logistics problem, which is what it is.

Assuming one big parcel is always cheaper. Put all four lines of this order in one consignment and you reach 65.7 kg, which no published band covers, so there is no cheaper single parcel to have. Band edges bite in both directions and a consolidated order can land in a dearer band than two smaller ones would. Look the weight up before you assume; the answer is not a rule, it is a lookup.
Counting delivery as a fixed overhead rather than a cost per candle. ₹1,200.00 sounds like a business expense and ₹5.20 a candle sounds like a costing line, and only the second one reaches your price. Divide every inbound charge by the candles that order will actually produce, and do it before you decide how often to order — two reviews on the store say plainly that delivery charges are high, which is a fair thing to say and the honest answer to it is to order less often and heavier, not to leave the line out of the sheet.
The light three, in one parcel. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 10 kg ₹5,074.00 · Roasted Coffee 1 kg ₹3,738.00 (page states a soy candle range of 6–10% of total wax weight and a flashpoint of approximately 191–193°C) · Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) 100 for ₹944.00. Together 12.7 kg of stored packed weight, one band, ₹1,200.00 on Standard Shipping in September 2026.

One basket, and the threshold arithmetic

This is the part of consolidation that genuinely cannot be had from four suppliers.

CSI publishes three order-value codes — HAPPY5 at 5% over ₹5,000.00, BIZWIZ8 at 8% over ₹12,000.00 and YAY10 at 10% over ₹20,000.00. They are discounts on what the basket comes to, not on pack size or on kilograms, and that distinction is what makes them a consolidation lever: four separate orders of ₹2,807.75 each reach nothing, while one order of ₹11,231.00 reaches HAPPY5 and takes ₹561.55 off. Split the same purchase across four suppliers and that money does not exist.

Convert it to a per-candle figure carefully, because there is a trap. The obvious move is to divide ₹561.55 by the 50 candles the order makes, which gives ₹11.23 — but that over-credits, because the fragrance and the wicks in this order stretch past 50 candles and their share of the discount belongs to candles you have not made yet. The discount is a percentage of every line, so the honest per-candle figure is simply 5% of the per-candle materials cost: 5% of ₹200.23 is ₹10.01. Use that. Freight is different and is correctly divided by the order's yield, because it is a single charge for the whole consignment rather than a percentage of each line.

Order-value codes on this basket · published thresholds
What ₹11,231.00 of goods reaches, and what the next threshold would take
Code Threshold Reached by this order Value on the order Per candle
HAPPY5 · 5% over ₹5,000.00 yes ₹561.55 ₹10.01
BIZWIZ8 · 8% over ₹12,000.00 no — ₹769.00 short ₹960.00 at a ₹12,000.00 basket ₹16.02
YAY10 · 10% over ₹20,000.00 no — ₹20.02
Gain from topping up to the next threshold — — ₹398.45 —
Extra goods you would have to add — — ₹769.00 —
Priced above: the published order-value codes HAPPY5 (5% over ₹5,000.00), BIZWIZ8 (8% over ₹12,000.00) and YAY10 (10% over ₹20,000.00), applied to the ₹11,231.00 basket built from live CSI prices, September 2026. These are discounts on order value and not quantity breaks; whether a code applies to a particular cart is decided at checkout. The top-up row assumes a basket taken to exactly ₹12,000.00.

The top-up row deserves reading twice before anyone acts on it. Adding ₹769.00 of goods takes the basket to the BIZWIZ8 threshold and gains ₹398.45 more discount than HAPPY5 gives. If those goods are things you were going to buy next month anyway — another fragrance you sell steadily, wicks, stickers — that is a genuine ₹398.45 and you should take it. If they are not, you have spent ₹769.00 of cash to receive ₹398.45 of discount and a shelf of inventory, which is not a saving under any accounting. The test is not whether the threshold is close. It is whether the basket you would build to reach it is a basket you wanted.

TIME THE COMBINED ORDER, NOT JUST ITS SIZE
The same basket placed once a month reaches a threshold that four fortnightly orders never touch, and it pays one delivery band instead of several. For Diwali on 8 November 2026 that argues for one large consolidated order in September or early October rather than a trickle — a 14 to 21 day cure on soy container candles means the pour has to happen well before the festival, and the materials have to be in the workshop before the pour. Ask on WhatsApp for packed weights and bulk pricing before you build the basket.

Adding it up, and saying which half is which

One number for the finance sheet, and one for the decision about how many suppliers you keep.

Put the three levers against the ₹215.96 a candle this list costs in the smallest packs and the answer is ₹30.94, or 14.33% of materials. That is the finance number. The decision number is smaller and more useful: of that ₹30.94, only ₹15.21 requires fewer suppliers — ₹5.20 from the parcel and ₹10.01 from the basket. The remaining ₹15.73 is pack size, and a maker with four suppliers can capture every rupee of it by buying a bigger pack from each of them.

Of which consolidation itself ₹15.21 — 7.04% of ₹215.96
Delivered cost per candle, consolidated ₹195.42 — materials plus inbound delivery, less the code
Priced above: every figure computed from the live CSI prices already listed — Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464, Roasted Coffee, Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) and 200ml Salsa Glass Jar at September 2026 pricing — plus the published flat delivery bands read on stored packed weights and the published order-value codes. No per-kilogram quantity discount is assumed anywhere, because the store publishes none. Labels, boxes, outbound courier, gateway fees, labour and electricity are not CSI products and are not in any figure on this page.

Two honest qualifications belong with that table. The first is that the delivered cost of ₹195.42 a candle excludes the jars' freight, because no published band covers a 53.0 kg parcel and this page will not estimate one. Whatever that comes to on a quote is a real addition to every figure here, and it is worth asking for before you build a price around ₹195.42. The second is that consolidation is not free of cost in the other direction: one supplier means one stock-out, and a fragrance that sells out in the third week of October is a fragrance you cannot substitute at short notice. The rupee value of that risk is not something this page can compute for you, but ₹15.21 a candle is the number it has to be weighed against.

Consolidate the light lines first. Glass travels on its own terms.
— CandleMakingSuppliesIndia

Running this on your own supplier list

Five steps. Step two is the one everybody skips and the one that decides the answer.
1
1. Write the month's order out as lines, not as suppliersQuantity and pack size for wax, fragrance, wicks and vessels, in the sizes you would actually order. Price each line at its rate per kilogram, per gram or per piece, and total the candle. Here it is ₹200.23 on the consolidated packs and ₹215.96 on the smallest ones.
2
2. Look up the stored packed weight of every lineNot the label weight. A 1 kg fragrance pack stores 1.5 kg and a 50-piece jar pack stores 53.0 kg. Add the light lines together and check which band the total falls in; then check whether the whole order is still inside a published band at all. Here it is not — 65.7 kg has no rate above 50 kg.
3
3. Price the parcels both ways and take the cheaper combinationSeparate parcels against the combinations that fit a band. On this order three lines together are ₹1,200.00 against ₹1,460.00 apart, a difference of ₹260.00, and the glass goes on its own whatever you do. Divide the difference by the candles the order yields.
4
4. Convert the order-value code as a percentage, not as a divisionApply the code's percentage to your per-candle materials cost rather than dividing the whole discount by the candle count, or the lines that outlast the batch will flatter the figure. Here that is 5% of ₹200.23, which is ₹10.01, not ₹11.23.
5
5. Split the total into pack size and consolidation before you decide anythingPack size is available from any supplier; the parcel and the basket are not. On this order the split is ₹15.73 against ₹15.21. Only the second number belongs in a decision about how many suppliers to keep, and it has to be weighed against having no second source.

A last word on what this page has assumed, so that nothing here is load-bearing without being visible. Every figure holds the recipe constant at 200 g of wax and 16 g of oil at 8% of wax weight, and assumes no wastage, which is an assumption rather than a measurement — wax stays in the jug and a jar occasionally chips, so a real delivered cost sits above ₹195.42. The 50-candle yield is set by the wax and the jars; the fragrance stretches to more candles than that and the wicks to twice as many, so the per-candle freight figure is marginally conservative. And no figure on this page includes the jars' inbound delivery, for the simple reason that the store publishes no band that covers it and inventing one would be worse than admitting the gap.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA is the supplier a page like this is supposed to talk you into consolidating with, and it still tells you that half the usual argument does not apply here. There is no published per-kilogram quantity ladder on this store: Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 is ₹507.40 a kilogram at 1 kg, 5 kg and 10 kg alike, and the Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) is ₹9.44 a wick at every pack from ten to a thousand. It also tells you that the single biggest line by weight, the glass, cannot be consolidated into the parcel at all, and that keeping a second source has a value this page cannot compute. What is real is ₹15.21 a candle from one parcel and one basket, and that figure is checkable line by line.

Every CSI price here is live stock in September 2026, taxes included, and the linked product pages are authoritative if anything changes. Fragrance load is a percentage of wax weight, as CSI product pages state it; the fill reading carried throughout is 200 g of wax plus 16 g of oil at 8%, 216 g poured. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 states a maximum load of 10% of total wax weight and gives 80–90°C as the working range for melting and pouring; the Roasted Coffee page states a soy candle range of 6–10% of total wax weight and a flashpoint of approximately 191–193°C, and notes that its vanilla and caramel base notes contain vanillin, which can yellow white wax and is cosmetic. Where a wax ceiling and an oil range differ the lower one governs. The 200ml Salsa Glass Jar page describes a 200 ml capacity; no fill weight in grams is published and none is assumed here. Delivery figures are the published flat bands by weight as at September 2026, read on stored packed weights of 11.0 kg, 1.5 kg, 0.2 kg and 53.0 kg; no rate is published above 50 kg, which is why the jar line and the all-in-one line carry no figure. The published order-value codes are discounts on order value and not quantity breaks. Wastage is assumed at zero, which is an assumption and not measured data. Labels, boxes, outbound courier, gateway fees, labour, electricity and rent are not CSI products and are not costed here.

Frequently asked questions

Does CSI give a discount for buying more kilograms?
Not as a published ladder. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 is ₹520.00 a kilogram in the 500 g pack and ₹507.40 a kilogram at 1 kg, 5 kg and 10 kg, so the whole step is at the bottom and is worth ₹2.52 on a 200 g candle. The Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) is ₹9.44 a wick at every pack. Roasted Coffee and the jars do step, which is why this page runs the ladder on each line rather than generalising.
How much does combining wax, oil and wicks in one parcel save?
₹260.00 on this order. Separately those three lines are ₹1,200.00, ₹180.00 and ₹80.00; together they are 12.7 kg and fall in one band at ₹1,200.00 on Standard Shipping. Over the 50 candles the order makes that is ₹5.20 a candle. Bands are as published in September 2026.
Can I put the jars in the same parcel?
Not on the published rates. The 50-piece pack of 200ml Salsa Glass Jar carries a stored packed weight of 53.0 kg, and the store publishes no rate above 50 kg, so neither the jars alone nor the full 65.7 kg order has a band. Ask on WhatsApp for a quote rather than assuming a figure.
Is it worth adding goods to reach the next discount threshold?
Only if you wanted the goods. This basket is ₹11,231.00, which is ₹769.00 short of the BIZWIZ8 threshold at ₹12,000.00; topping up gains ₹398.45 more discount than HAPPY5 gives. That is a good trade if the extra ₹769.00 is fragrance or wicks you will use, and a poor one if it is stock you are buying to unlock a code.
Should I keep a second supplier anyway?
That is a resilience decision, not a costing one, and the honest way to take it is to put the two numbers side by side. Consolidating is worth ₹15.21 a candle here, or 7.04% of materials. A scent that goes out of stock in the third week of October costs you whatever that season's orders were worth. Neither number is available from the other one, so write both down before you cancel an account.
How do I turn a basket discount into a cost per candle?
Apply the percentage to your per-candle materials cost, not to the order total divided by candles. Here 5% of ₹200.23 is ₹10.01, while ₹561.55 divided by 50 candles gives ₹11.23 — the second figure borrows the discount on fragrance and wicks that will still be on your shelf next month. Freight is the opposite case and is correctly divided by the order's yield.

About this guide: Written by the CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA team. The method — write the order as lines rather than as suppliers, look up stored packed weights, price the parcels both ways, convert a basket discount as a percentage rather than a division, and split the total into pack size and consolidation before deciding anything — works with any supplier, any material and any currency.

Customer reviews: The six reviews at the top of this page are genuine, published Judge.me reviews left by CSI customers on their product pages. Names, star ratings, dates and products are as recorded by Judge.me. One longer review is shortened with an ellipsis; wording is otherwise unedited. Two are below five stars and one is not recorded as a verified purchase — shown as recorded. Not recorded by Judge.me as a verified purchase, so shown without a verified-buyer badge: R.G.. No location is shown against any review because Judge.me does not store one.

Figures verified September 2026 (CSI live pricing). Live CSI prices, September 2026, taxes included. Series convention: fragrance load is a percentage of wax weight, so the costing unit is 200 g of wax plus 16 g of oil at 8%, 216 g poured, and that is the reading carried throughout. Wax: Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 500 g ₹260.00 (₹520.00/kg), 1 kg ₹507.40 (₹507.40/kg), 5 kg ₹2,537.00, 10 kg ₹5,074.00 (₹507.40/kg); the page gives 80–90°C as the working range for melting and pouring, a maximum fragrance load of 10% of total wax weight and a 60 month shelf life in cool, dry storage. Fragrance: Roasted Coffee 15 g ₹93.22 (₹6.21/g), 50 g ₹230.00 (₹4.60/g), 100 g ₹390.00 (₹3.90/g), 500 g ₹1,890.00 (₹3.78/g), 1 kg ₹3,738.00 (₹3.74/g); the page states a soy candle range of 6–10% of total wax weight, a flashpoint of approximately 191–193°C and that the vanilla and caramel base notes contain vanillin. Wicks: Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) 10 for ₹94.40, 100 for ₹944.00, ₹9.44 a wick at every published pack. Vessel: 200ml Salsa Glass Jar 5 pieces ₹200.60 (₹40.12 each), 50 pieces ₹1,475.00 (₹29.50 each), 100 pieces ₹2,950.00 (₹29.50 each); the page describes a 200 ml capacity and no fill weight in grams is published, so none is used. Delivery: published flat rate bands as at September 2026, read on stored packed weights of 11.0 kg for the 10 kg wax pack, 1.5 kg for the 1 kg oil pack, 0.2 kg for the 100 wick pack and 53.0 kg for the 50-piece jar pack; no rate is published above 50 kg, so neither the jar parcel nor the combined 65.7 kg order is priced. Published order-value discount codes quoted: HAPPY5 5% over ₹5,000.00, BIZWIZ8 8% over ₹12,000.00, YAY10 10% over ₹20,000.00. Diwali 2026 is 8 November 2026. The 50-candle yield is set by the wax and the jars in this order; the page assumes zero wastage, which is an assumption and not measured data. Prices and availability change — the linked product pages are always authoritative.
