How long will 4 kg last? At 100 a month, 72 days; at 150, 48 days; at 200, 36 days; at 300, 24 days. See weeks of cover.
When should I place the next order? When 70 candles' worth is left, if you sell 150 a month and your delivery takes 7 days with a 7-day buffer. From today, that is Sun 1 Nov 2026. If October sales double before Diwali, it moves to Thu 8 Oct 2026.
What should I reorder? One month at 150 candles is 2.47 kg. In Mango Coconut, 2 × 1 kg + 1 × 500 g for ₹9,910.00. Its kilo is 20.7% cheaper per gram than its 100 g.
250 on paper, fewer in the jar
Division gives the ceiling. To get the real count, take off what never reaches a customer. The first deduction is loss: oil that coats the pouring jug, the stirrer and the scale cup, plus the odd failed pour. This page uses 3%, a working assumption; replace it with your own figure once you have weighed a few bottles before and after a batch. The second is test candles. Most makers pour at least one per batch to check the burn and the throw; here three are set aside from this 4 kg. What is left is the stock you can promise.

The gap between 250 and 239 is 11 candles, about 4.4% of the paper figure. It looks small until you promise a wholesale customer 250 and deliver 239. Always quote from the realistic count, not the division.
How many weeks that is
Candles left only become a plan once you divide them by your pace. The title does not give a sales rate, so the table shows four. Find the row nearest your own average over the last three months.

At 300 a month, the same 4 kg is only 3.4 weeks of stock, and you reach the reorder line on Thu 8 Oct 2026, less than a month from today. At 100 a month it is almost 10 weeks and you have until Wed 25 Nov 2026. The kilograms are the same; the urgency is completely different. That is why a stock count means nothing without a sales rate next to it.
The date to order by
Take the 150-a-month case. You sell 5 candles a day. Your delivery takes 7 days, the reader's own figure, as CSI does not publish delivery times. Add a 7-day buffer, a working assumption. The shelf must therefore still hold 14 × 5 = 70 candles' worth (1.15 kg) on the day you order. You start with 239, so you can sell 169 before the line, which at 5 a day takes 33.8 days: Sun 1 Nov 2026. Stock would run out completely on about Sun 15 Nov 2026.
Now the festive case. Many candle businesses sell faster in the weeks before Diwali. If your pace doubles from today to 10 a day, two things happen at once. The stock drains twice as fast, and the reorder line doubles to 140 candles, because 14 days of sales is now twice as many candles. The order-by date jumps to Thu 8 Oct 2026, and the 4 kg runs out on Thu 22 Oct 2026, more than two weeks before Diwali. A seller who planned by the calm-month date would be out of their best scent in the busiest fortnight of the year.

What 4 kg commits you to
There is a quieter question behind "how many more candles can I make": can you actually make them with what else is on the shelf? Oil is rarely the only limit. If 16 g is an 8% load, your candle is 200 g, and every one of those 242 candles also needs 184 g of wax, a wick and a jar. The table assumes that 200 g candle; replace it with your own size.

So 4 kg of oil is a commitment to about 45.86 kg of wax. If you only have 20 kg of wax on the shelf, wax is your real limit: 20,000 ÷ 189.52 g = 105 candles, less than half of what the oil could make. Check every material before you promise a number, and reorder the one that runs out first. For the wax side of the same question, 30 kg of wax in stock does the full count.
The reorder in real bottles
When the day comes, order a month of use, not "another 4 kg". At 150 a month that is 150 × 16.48 g = 2.47 kg. The example oil here is Mango Coconut Fragrance Oil, which is one of the oils where the kilo genuinely saves: 20.7% per gram against the 100 g. Its 500 g and 1 kg are both ₹3.96 a gram, so the cheapest way to cover a month is 2 × 1 kg + 1 × 500 g for ₹9,910.00. The same month in 100 g bottles would cost ₹12,500.00.
