Production Calculator · Securing Material for a Deadline
A two-thousand-piece order with a fixed date is only safe to accept if the materials are safe. This page calculates exactly what 2,000 × 100 g needs, with rejects and tests, then shows what should be in your hands, what should be confirmed in writing, and when each has to arrive.
17.07 kg
fragrance to secure for 2,000 × 100 g at 8% with a 3% reject rate, 10 tests and 3% loss · plus 196.34 kg wax, 2,176 wicks, 2,114 jars · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
How much wax and fragrance for 2,000 × 100 g? Net, 2,000 × 8 g = 16 kg of oil and 2,000 × 92 g = 184 kg of wax. With a 3% reject rate (2,062 production candles), 10 tests and 3% loss: 17,073.28 g of fragrance and 196,342.72 g of wax.

How much of that must I hold before accepting? All of the fragrance should be confirmed in stock, ideally in hand before the first pour, because a single scent cannot be substituted mid-order. For wax, have at least the first week's pour in hand (85.50 kg on our example) and the rest confirmed with a delivery date.

What should I order? Lemongrass and Lime 17 × 1 kg + 1 × 100 g (₹88,990.00); CSI 464 19 × 10 kg + 1 × 5 kg + 1 × 1 kg + 1 × 500 g (₹99,710.40); 2,180 Eco Thin C1 wicks (₹12,862.00); 2,114 Yankee 130 ml jars (₹99,780.80). Total ₹3,01,343.20.

Can the listed packs cover it? Only just. Oil is listed up to 1 kg per bottle and CSI 464 up to 10 kg bags, so this is 17 bottles and 20 bags. At this size, ask on WhatsApp for stock confirmation and a quote; no volume discount is published.
The short answer
Requirement: 2,072 poured (2,000 ÷ 0.97 = 2,062 + 10 tests) · 17,073.28 g oil · 196,342.72 g wax · 2,176 wicks · 2,114 jars.
Secure first: 100% of the fragrance confirmed (in hand before day 1). Wax: first week in hand, remainder confirmed with a date. Wicks and jars: all in hand before day 1.
Cost: ₹3,01,343.20 in CSI materials, ₹150.67 per delivered candle, before labour, labels, packaging, freight and GST.

An example schedule from acceptance to deadline. Every duration is a placeholder: 5 days for samples and approval, 5 days for materials to arrive, 14 pouring days at 150 candles a day, a 7-day cure checkpoint and 4 days to pack. CSI does not publish delivery times or cure times; replace each figure with your own before you commit to a date.
Straight answer
I have a 2,000-piece corporate candle order with a 100 g fill weight. How much wax and fragrance should I secure before accepting the deadline?
First the requirement, then the security. Each 100 g candle at 8% holds 8 g of fragrance and 92 g of wax. On 2,000 candles that is 16 kg of oil and 184 kg of wax, net. A large run will have rejects: at a working 3% reject rate you need 2,062 production candles to deliver 2,000 (2,000 ÷ 0.97, rounded up), plus 10 pre-production tests, so 2,072 poured. With 3% pour loss that is 17,073.28 g of fragrance and 196,342.72 g of wax, plus 2,176 wicks and 2,114 jars. Before you accept the date, secure all of the fragrance: confirmed in stock in writing, and on your shelf before the first pour. A corporate order is usually one scent, and a mid-run shortage cannot be patched with a different oil. For the wax, have at least the first week's pour in hand and the rest confirmed with a delivery date that lands before you need it. In Lemongrass and Lime (17 × 1 kg + 1 × 100 g) and Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (19 × 10 kg + 1 × 5 kg + 1 × 1 kg + 1 × 500 g), with Eco Thin C1 wicks and Yankee 130 ml jars, the materials cost ₹3,01,343.20. Listed packs stop at 1 kg of oil and 10 kg of wax, so at this size message us for stock confirmation and a quote before you sign.
One line: 17.07 kg of oil and 196.34 kg of wax — confirm all of it before you accept, hold all the oil before you pour.
Lemongrass and Lime is a fresh, citrus-herbal scent that suits offices, and one of the 24 oils with a real kilo saving: ₹5,200.00 for 1 kg (₹5.20 a gram) against ₹5.90 at 100 g, an 11.9% difference. For 17,073.28 g, 17 × 1 kg + 1 × 100 g costs ₹88,990.00. Ask us to confirm 17 kg of one oil before you commit to the client.

The full requirement for 2,000

A deadline turns every small allowance into a question: if you run short on day 12, can you get more by day 13?

Build the requirement in the usual order. The candle is 100 g at 8%, so 8 g of oil and 92 g of wax. At 2,000 candles a small reject rate matters, and you should divide by the pass rate rather than multiply: 2,000 ÷ 0.97 = 2061.86, so 2,062. Pre-production tests sit outside the reject rate: 10, covering wick checks, scent checks and retained samples. Then pour loss on the material. I Have a Corporate Order for 1,000 × 200 g Candles — How Much Wax, Fragrance Oil and How Many Wicks Should I Order if Production Rejects Are Expected? explains the reject-rate method in detail on 1,000 candles.

+ 10 tests 2,072 16,576 g 190,624 g 2,072 2,072
+ 3% loss; spares 2,072 17,073.28 g 196,342.72 g 2,176 2,114

The rounding to packs is covered below. Before that, notice the size of the lines. 196.34 kg of wax is twenty 10 kg bags. 17.07 kg of a single oil is seventeen 1 kg bottles. Neither is exotic, but both are large compared with a normal week's orders, and both need to be available at the same moment you need them. That is the real subject of this page.

What to hold, what to confirm

Securing material has two levels: on your shelf, and confirmed in writing with a date. Each line of the order deserves one or the other before you accept.
Our suggested minimum before accepting a fixed deadline · adjust to your own risk
The security level for each material
Material Requirement Before you accept Before the first pour Why
Fragrance 17,073.28 g All confirmed in stock, in writing All in hand One scent, no substitute; mixing lots mid-run risks a visible difference
Wax 196,342.72 g All confirmed, with delivery dates At least the first week (85.50 kg) in hand Same wax throughout; bags can arrive in stages
Wicks 2,176 All confirmed All in hand Cheap, small, and a wick shortage stops the line
Jars 2,114 All confirmed All in hand, inspected The client sees them; a jar change after approval is a new sample round

Why hold all the fragrance before the first pour? Three reasons. A single-scent corporate order cannot be finished in a different oil. If your oil arrives in two deliveries weeks apart, combining the bottles before pouring (a common practice) is not possible. And fragrance is the line most likely to be affected by a stock-out on a specific size. CSI does not publish lot-to-lot data or restock dates; if matching matters, say so when you order, and keep a retained sample from the first bottle.

Wax is different. It is the same product whether it arrives on day 1 or day 8, and it is bulky to store: 196.34 kg is roughly twenty 10 kg bags. Taking the first week's pour (six pouring days at 150 a day) on day 1 and the rest in a confirmed second delivery is reasonable, provided the second delivery date is safely before you need it. On our example that is 85.50 kg (8 × 10 kg + 1 × 5 kg + 1 × 500 g) first, then 11 × 10 kg + 1 × 1 kg.

"It was on the website when I checked." A listing that shows stock today is not a reservation for next week. For an order with a fixed date, ask for written confirmation of the quantities you need, and buy the fragrance as soon as the client confirms. A page refresh is not a supply plan.

Can the date be met? The example schedule

Material is only half of "can I accept this deadline". The other half is capacity. CSI does not publish delivery times, cure times or pour rates, so the figures below are examples to show the arithmetic. Suppose your team can pour 150 candles a day, samples and approval take 5 days, materials take 5 days to arrive, you allow a 7-day cure checkpoint before packing, and packing takes 4 days.

Example durations only · replace each with your own
Days from acceptance to deadline, at three pour rates
Pour rate (example) Pouring days Total days needed Oil used per pouring day Wax used per pouring day
100 a day 21 42 824 g 9,476 g
150 a day 14 35 1,236 g 14,214 g
250 a day 9 30 2,060 g 23,690 g

At 150 a day the example needs 35 days from acceptance to dispatch. If the client's date is closer than that, something has to give: a faster pour rate, a shorter cure, or a split delivery. The daily consumption columns tell you how quickly material leaves the shelf once you start: at 150 a day, about 1,236 g of oil and 14.21 kg of wax. Any wax delivery that has not arrived by the day it is needed stops the line.

Cure is a checkpoint, not a spec
We use 7 days as an example checkpoint before packing. CSI does not publish cure times, and different waxes and oils behave differently. Pour a pilot batch in the production wax and oil at the start of the schedule and test it at your checkpoint, so you know before dispatch whether your cure allowance is enough.

When a size is out of stock

On a large single-scent order, one missing size can change the whole pack plan. The catalogue shows this clearly. Vetiver is in stock at 15 g, 50 g, 100 g and 500 g, but its 1 kg is out of stock on the pull date. If Vetiver were your client's scent, the same 17,073.28 g would have to come as 34 × 500 g + 1 × 100 g, ₹99,200.00: 35 bottles instead of 18. That is still possible, but it is exactly the kind of detail to find before you accept, not on the day you order.

Some scents are not available at all. Mogra and Rajnigandha, both natural choices for Indian gifting, are out of stock at every size on the pull date, and so are a handful of inspired-by oils. If a client asks for one of those, offer an in-stock alternative at the sampling stage. Do not accept a date on the assumption that it will be back.

Wax choice. CSI 464 is rated up to 10% by the wax maker and priced flat at ₹507.40 a kilo. The same 196,342.72 g in Natural Soy Pearl Wax would be 3 × 50 kg + 4 × 10 kg + 1 × 5 kg + 2 × 1 kg, ₹83,736.00, which is ₹15,974.40 less and comes in fewer, larger bags. Natural Soy Pearl has no fragrance ceiling in our data, so test it at 8% in your pilot before you commit 197 kg to it. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, rated up to 13%, would cost ₹1,17,874.00.

Jars. The Yankee Glass Jar 130 ml with clear cap is ₹47.20 each. Its 130 ml is a brim volume; at a working approximation of 0.86–0.90 g of wax per ml, a brim fill is roughly 112–117 g, so 100 g should sit below the shoulder. Weigh a test pour. If the client has chosen a different container, the wax and oil figures still hold as long as the tested fill is 100 g. Per candle, the materials come to ₹141.38: ₹41.60 of fragrance, ₹46.68 of wax, ₹5.90 of wick and ₹47.20 of jar, before labour, labels, packaging, freight and GST.

Argued against our own interest, plainly. We would rather you declined a deadline than accepted one our stock cannot meet. If we cannot confirm 17 kg of your scent, or 197 kg of your wax, by the date you need it, we will say so. Ask before you sign, not after.

Confirm stock before I accept
The CSI principle
Accept the date after the material is secure, not before.
A deadline is a promise about capacity and supply. The requirement tells you what supply you need; written confirmation tells you it exists; the schedule tells you when it must arrive. With those three in hand, the date is a plan. Without them, it is a hope.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. This page tells you to confirm our stock before accepting a deadline, and says we would rather you declined an order than accepted one we cannot supply. That costs us nothing to say and could save your client relationship.

Oil and wax prices are CSI live pricing, pulled on 24 September 2026. Wick and jar prices are CSI listings verified on 10 September 2026 and re-checked in the 24–25 September pull. Out-of-stock sizes (Vetiver 1 kg) and oils (Mogra, Rajnigandha) are named, not offered. At this size the order exceeds the listed packs; volume pricing is quoted on WhatsApp and no discount figure is published.

The 3% reject rate, 10 tests, 3% pour loss, 5% extra wicks, 2% jar breakage, the 100 g fill in the Yankee jar and every schedule duration (pour rate, delivery, cure, packing) are working assumptions or examples. CSI publishes no delivery times, cure times or pour rates. For written stock confirmation, quotes, GST invoicing, MSDS or IFRA documentation, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

How much wax for 2,000 candles of 100 g?
At 8% fragrance, 92 g each, 184 kg for 2,000. With a 3% reject rate, 10 tests and 3% pour loss, 196,342.72 g.
How much fragrance oil for 2,000 × 100 g candles?
8 g each at 8%, 16 kg for 2,000. With rejects, tests and loss as on this page, 17,073.28 g, about seventeen 1 kg bottles.
Should I buy all the fragrance before starting a large order?
For a single-scent order with a fixed date, yes: have it confirmed before you accept and in hand before the first pour. It avoids a mid-run shortage and lets you combine bottles before pouring so the whole run is uniform.
What is the largest pack of fragrance oil CSI lists?
1 kg per listing. For several kilos of one oil, ask on WhatsApp for stock confirmation and a quote. No volume discount figure is published.
How long do soy candles need to cure before dispatch?
CSI does not publish cure times. Many makers use a checkpoint of several days to two weeks. Pour a pilot batch at the start of the schedule and test it at your checkpoint in the production wax and oil.
How many candles can I pour in a day?
It depends on your melter, jugs, team and space. CSI does not publish throughput. Time a pilot batch, then divide the order by your real daily figure to get pouring days.
