25 × 4 fragrances · one wax, four oils
Add the wax up across all 100 candles; calculate each oil on its own. At 200 g and 8% each scent needs 453.6 g of oil — one 500 g bottle each — and Sandalwood, now sold only in 500 g and 1 kg, fits without waste. At smaller fills it would not.

complete CSI order for 25 candles in each of four scents at 200 g · wax ₹13,390.00 · four oils ₹10,863.40 · CSI live pricing, October 2026
Quick answers — read this first
How much wax? 20,865.6 g combined for 108 candles poured (27 per scent) — CSI 468 2 × 10 kg + 1 × 1 kg, ₹13,390.00.

How much of each oil? 453.6 g per scent at 200 g and 8% with allowances — one 500 g bottle each.

What about Sandalwood? Only 500 g (₹2,513.40) and 1 kg are in stock. At 200 g it leaves 46.4 g; at a 100 g fill it would leave 273 g (₹1,373.32).

Total cost? ₹33,403.40 in CSI materials for 100 saleable candles, or ₹334.03 each.
The short answer
Answer: Wax: one combined calculation — 20,865.6 g for all four scents. Oil: four separate calculations of 453.6 g each, each rounded to its own bottles.
Why: Every candle uses the same wax but a different oil. Summing the wax rounds once; oils cannot be pooled, so each is buffered and rounded on its own.
Method: Per-scent stack (1 check, 3% rejects, 5% pour loss) → sum the wax → round once → round each oil separately → show each leftover → buy shared wick after all four pass.
25 + 25 + 25 + 25 candles: one wax purchase, four oil calculations 200 g candles · 8% · Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 · White Matte jar · per scent: 1 check candle, 3% rejects, 5% pour loss ONE WAX PURCHASE 4 × 5,216.4 g = 20,865.6 g → 2 × 10 kg + 1 × 1 kg ₹13,390.00 Lavender · 27 poured need 453.6 g · buy 1 × 500 g · ₹2,620.00 leftover 46.4 g Vanilla · 27 poured need 453.6 g · buy 1 × 500 g · ₹3,840.00 leftover 46.4 g Coffee · 27 poured need 453.6 g · buy 1 × 500 g · ₹1,890.00 leftover 46.4 g Sandalwood · 27 poured need 453.6 g · buy 1 × 500 g · ₹2,513.40 leftover 46.4 g · 500 g is the smallest in stock Wax adds up across scents; oil never does. At a 100 g fill, Sandalwood's 500 g bottle would leave 273 g over (₹1,373.32).
The four scents feed one wax purchase; each oil is calculated and rounded on its own. Filled bars are each scent's oil need with allowances, dashed bars the bottle bought. At 200 g all four fit one 500 g bottle; Sandalwood cannot be bought smaller, which matters at smaller fills. Allowances are labelled working assumptions.
Straight answer
I want 25 lavender, 25 vanilla, 25 coffee and 25 sandalwood candles — how should I calculate one combined wax purchase and four separate fragrance quantities?
Calculate the wax once for all 100 candles and each fragrance on its own. At a 200 g candle and 8% load (labelled working figures — the title gives neither), each candle is 16 g of oil and 184 g of wax. Treat each scent as its own batch: 25 saleable + 1 check candle + a 3% reject allowance = 27 poured, with 5% pour loss on wax and oil. The combined wax is 4 × 5,216.4 g = 20,865.6 g — CSI 468 as 2 × 10 kg + 1 × 1 kg for ₹13,390.00, ₹650.00 less than four separate kits. Each oil needs 453.6 g, which rounds to one 500 g bottle of each: Lavender ₹2,620.00, Vanilla Bean ₹3,840.00, Roasted Coffee ₹1,890.00, Sandalwood ₹2,513.40. Sandalwood is now sold only in 500 g and 1 kg; at 200 g that leaves 46.4 g, but at a 100 g fill it would leave 273 g. With jars, wicks and stickers the CSI order is ₹33,403.40.
One line: add the wax up across all four scents; calculate, buffer and round each oil on its own.
For 25 candles each of lavender, vanilla, coffee and sandalwood at 200 g and 8%, calculate the wax once for all 100 — 20,865.6 g of CSI 468 (2 × 10 kg + 1 × 1 kg, ₹13,390.00) — and each oil separately: 453.6 g per scent, which rounds to one 500 g bottle of each (oils ₹10,863.40). Sandalwood is now sold only in 500 g and 1 kg, so it is the one scent that cannot be bought smaller.

Wax adds up across scents. Oil never does.

Four scents share one wax bag and not one drop of oil.

A four-scent run has one rule that makes the arithmetic simple. Every candle uses the same wax at the same load, so the wax for all four scents is just the sum of four identical calculations — or one calculation for all 100 candles. Every candle uses a different oil, so each oil is calculated, buffered and rounded on its own. The title does not give a candle weight, so this page uses 200 g as a labelled working figure and shows what changes at smaller fills. Load is a share of the finished candle: each candle is 16 g of oil and 184 g of wax.

Each scent is treated as its own small batch, because it will be poured as one: 25 saleable candles, 1 pre-production check candle, a 3% reject allowance (25 ÷ 0.97 = 25.77 → 26), 5% pour loss on wax and oil, 2% breakage on glass and 1 spare wick — all labelled working assumptions. That gives 27 candles poured per scent and 108 in all.

Per scent: 25 saleable + 1 check + 3% rejects · 5% pour loss on wax and oil · 200 g at 8%

The CSI principle
One wax calculation for all the candles. One oil calculation per scent.
Summing the wax and rounding once leaves one small remainder; rounding each oil separately is unavoidable, so make each oil's rounding as tight as its bottle ladder allows.

The combined wax purchase

Summed across the four scents, the wax is 4 × 5,216.4 g = 20,865.6 g. Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 is listed at 500 g ₹325.00, 1 kg ₹650.00, 5 kg ₹3,185.00 and 10 kg ₹6,370.00 — ₹650.00 a kilo at the small sizes and ₹637.00 from 5 kg. The cheapest in-stock combination for the combined need is 2 × 10 kg + 1 × 1 kg, ₹13,390.00, leaving 134.4 g. Bought as four separate scent kits, each 5,216.4 g would round to 1 × 5 kg + 1 × 500 g at ₹3,510.00: ₹14,040.00 in all, ₹650.00 more, with 1,134 g left over instead of 134 g.

This page uses CSI 468 because its product page states a fragrance ceiling of up to 13%, a melting point of 50–53°C and pour at 58–60°C — enough headroom for a reader who decides one scent needs more oil, and handling figures you can follow. That is a reason to start here, not a verdict that it throws better than any other CSI wax; we publish no throw data. The two-fragrance post runs the same combine-or-split comparison across all four CSI container waxes.

If one scent runs at a different load
The combined wax is still a sum — just not of four identical numbers. If you run Coffee at 10% and the others at 8% (an example, not a recommendation), Coffee's candles hold 180 g of wax instead of 184 g, so its wax drops to 5,103.0 g and the combined total becomes 20,752.2 g → 2 × 10 kg + 1 × 1 kg (₹13,390.00). Its oil rises to 567.0 g → 1 × 500 g + 1 × 100 g (₹2,280.00). CSI 468's stated 13% ceiling covers either load.

Four separate oil quantities, rounded honestly

At 200 g, all four scents land on one 500 g bottle. At smaller candles, one of them cannot follow the others down.

Each scent needs 453.6 g of oil. Rounded to the cheapest in-stock bottles of 50 g and above, every one of the four lands on a single 500 g bottle — but for different reasons. Lavender is ₹5.40/g at 100 g and ₹5.24/g at 500 g, so 500 g edges out 4 × 100 g + 2 × 50 g. Vanilla Bean and Roasted Coffee both step down at 500 g. Sandalwood has no choice: on the 4 October 2026 re-check its 15 g, 50 g and 100 g are out of stock, and only 500 g (₹2,513.40) and 1 kg (₹5,026.80) can be bought.

All four ₹10,863.40 185.6 g ₹1,008.12

At 200 g the Sandalwood stock-out costs nothing: the 500 g bottle is what the need calls for anyway, at ₹5.03 a gram — the same rate the out-of-stock 100 g bottle carried. The picture changes as the candles get smaller, because the other three oils can step down into 100 g and 50 g bottles and Sandalwood cannot.

The honest leftover: Sandalwood at a 100 g fill. Twenty-five 100 g candles need 226.8 g of Sandalwood with allowances; the smallest bottle you can buy is 500 g, so 273 g — worth ₹1,373.32 at the bottle's rate — is left after the run. Fix, your choice: keep it for the next Sandalwood run (CSI publishes no shelf life for individual oils — store it cool, dark and sealed, and ask on WhatsApp), make more Sandalwood candles than the other scents, or choose a different woody oil that is sold in smaller bottles.

If you would rather pick a different woody oil than hold a large Sandalwood remainder, the choice of scent is yours — we make no claim that any of these smells like sandalwood, and CSI publishes no scent-profile or throw data. The table only shows which in-stock woody oils can be bought close to a small need:

Everything except the oils is bought once for all 100 candles. Jars are White Matte Glass Jar — CSI does not publish its fill weight, so weigh a test pour before ordering for 200 g. Wicks are Eco Candle Wicks Thin C1 as the example; CSI publishes no wick size per diameter, and four different oils may not all suit one wick, so the wick is the one shared line that waits for each scent's test.

The oils are the largest single block of spend after the wax and jars, and they differ a lot by scent: Vanilla Bean's 500 g is ₹3,840.00 and Roasted Coffee's is ₹1,890.00. That is why each oil is a separate decision, and why a scent you are unsure of should be tested from a small bottle before its 500 g is bought — the bulk-or-small post sets out that split. Note that Sandalwood has no small bottle to test from right now; if you have not used it before, ask on WhatsApp when the smaller sizes are expected back, or test with the 500 g and plan to use the remainder.

Testing four scents without four times the work

1
One wax bag, one jar type, one wick for all fourPour the test candles for every scent from the same CSI 468 bag, in the same jar, with the same wick. The oil is then the only variable between scents.
2
Two or three test candles per scent16 g oil + 184 g wax each; CSI 468's page states pour at 58–60°C. Small bottles for Lavender, Vanilla and Coffee; Sandalwood only from its 500 g.
3
Cure all four to one checkpointScore cold throw at the same labelled checkpoint, for example 7 and 14 days, so no scent gets extra cure time.
4
Burn in a set of fourOne candle of each scent together, spaced apart, 3–4 hours per cycle (a commonly used working practice). A scent that tunnels or runs a bigger flame than the others needs its own wick test — see the wick sample ladder.
5
Order the shared wick once all four passThen one 1 × 100-pack + 1 × 20-pack wick order covers all 112. If one scent needs a different wick, split only that scent's wicks.
Argued against our own interest, plainly. A 1 kg Sandalwood bottle at ₹5,026.80 would be an easy upsell for a 25-candle run. It is the wrong buy: the per-gram rate is the same ₹5.03 as the 500 g, and you would carry more than half a kilo over. Buy the 500 g, and if your candles are small, consider whether you really want Sandalwood in this run or would rather choose another oil you can buy closer to the need.

This page owns the four-scent split. Two fragrances, one wax pack compares combined and duplicate purchases in detail; 50 sandalwood candles at 8% is the single-scent Sandalwood list; 100 lavender candles is the single-scent Lavender list; minimum-leftover pack sizes tightens the oil rounding; and the 100-candle template has a line per scent. At larger scale, 1,000 candles split 40/30/20/10 runs uneven shares.

Uneven split instead of 25 each? The method is identical: wax is the sum of each scent's candles × wax per candle, and each oil is its own need. The four-fragrance corporate order and the 40/30/20/10 split show it at 1,000 candles. Browse all fragrance oils.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate wax for candles in different scents?
Add up the wax for every candle regardless of scent: candles poured × wax per candle × (1 + pour loss). If all scents use the same load, that is one calculation for the whole run.
How much fragrance oil for 25 candles?
At 200 g and 8%, 400 g net, or 453.6 g with a check candle, 3% rejects and 5% pour loss.
Can I buy Sandalwood fragrance oil in 100 g?
Not at the moment — on the 4 October 2026 re-check only 500 g (₹2,513.40) and 1 kg (₹5,026.80) are in stock. Ask on WhatsApp when smaller sizes are expected.
Should I buy the same bottle size for every fragrance?
Only if the arithmetic says so. Round each oil to its own cheapest in-stock bottles; at 200 g these four all happen to land on 500 g, at smaller fills they do not.
Can different fragrances use the same wick?
Often, but not always. Test every scent with the same wick first and buy the shared wick order only when all of them pass.
What do I do with leftover fragrance oil?
Keep it sealed, cool and dark for the next run of that scent and label it with the order date. CSI publishes no shelf life for individual oils; ask on WhatsApp if you need guidance.

Non-price figures and assumptions: CSI convention: fragrance load is a share of the finished candle (oil = W × L; 200 g at 8% = 16 g oil + 184 g wax). The 200 g candle, 8% load, 1 check candle per scent, 3% rejects, 5% pour loss, 2% glass breakage, 1 spare wick per scent, the 100/150/250 g sensitivity fills and the 10% Coffee example are labelled working assumptions. Oil rounding uses 50 g and larger bottles with a ₹3-per-bottle tie-break. Leftover value = leftover grams × the bought bottle's per-gram price. What CSI's product pages state (quoted, not CSI test results): Luxury Soy Wax Chunks — maximum fragrance load 13%, cure minimum 48 hours, ideally 1–2 weeks; Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 — fragrance load up to 10%; Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 — fragrance load up to 13%, melting point 50–53°C, pour 58–60°C; Natural Soy Pearl — no fragrance ceiling, temperatures or shelf life published. CSI publishes no jar internal diameters or fill weights (except the Golden Aluminium Tin's 85 g and the Heart Cutout Velvet Jar's 50 g), no wick-size-per-diameter chart, no throw, burn or cure data for any oil or wax, and no volume discount beyond the listed packs. Material costs exclude labour, packaging, freight and GST. Diwali 2026 falls on 8 November.
