Candle Business Guides · Oud × Hot Throw
Yes — and not because it is tidier, but because the oil changes the fuel the wick has to burn. Every percentage point you move costs ₹14.99 of oil per candle and changes the melt pool the wick is supposed to produce, so a wick chosen before the load is a wick chosen for a different candle.
₹14.99
per candle for each percentage point of fragrance load, on a measured 185 g of wax with White Royal Oud at ₹8.10 a gram — 1.85 g of oil per point · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
Should the wick come after the fragrance load? Yes. The wick's job is to produce a melt pool in a specific wax carrying a specific quantity of oil. Change the load and you change how the wax behaves at the flame, so the wick is the fourth decision, not the second: container → wax → fragrance and load → wick → dye.

What load should a 200 g oud jar start at? White Royal Oud states 6–10% of total wax weight and tells you what each end does: "6-7% for a refined, hotel-lobby quality warmth" and "9-10% for a boldly decadent statement scent". Start at the lower end, and cap at 10% even if your wax page allows more.

How much oil is that in a 200 g jar? That depends on what your jar actually holds. 200 ml is not 200 g. The matte glass family states "fill weight of 200 ml" and dimensions of 8 cm height, 7 cm width — not a gram figure. Weigh one filled jar. This guide works a measured 185 g of wax, which gives 11.10 g of oil at 6% and 18.50 g at 10%.

How many wick candidates does CSI actually have? Three, honestly counted: Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1), Thick (C2) and Performance Wooden Wicks — two cotton sizes plus a different wick type. The C1/C2 page publishes no diameter at all, so nobody can name your wick from a distance. You get a bracket and a burn test.
The short answer
Load first, in five jars: one jar each at 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10% of total wax weight, all on the same wick, same wax, same jar. Judge them on cold throw at day 14 and on hot throw in a controlled burn. The winner is your load.
Wick second, in six jars: the chosen load only, across Eco C1, Eco C2 and Performance Wooden Wicks, two jars each so you can burn one at day 14 and one at day 21.
Know what a point costs before you buy it: ₹14.99 per candle per percentage point of White Royal Oud. Moving from 7% to 10% adds ₹44.96 to every candle — real money at 100 candles, and worth nothing at all if the wick cannot open a full pool.
What one percentage point buys, and what it costs — 185 g of wax, White Royal Oud 6% · background warmth 11.10 g oil · ₹89.91 · candle ₹277.43 7% · start here 12.95 g oil · ₹104.90 · candle ₹292.42 8% 14.80 g oil · ₹119.88 · candle ₹307.40 9% 16.65 g oil · ₹134.87 · candle ₹322.39 10% · the stated cap 18.50 g oil · ₹149.85 · candle ₹337.37 ↑ decide this first — five jars, one wick then the wick: C1 ₹5.90 · C2 ₹9.44 · wooden ₹59.00 per candle — six jars at the chosen load only
Bar length is the oil in the jar. The whole ladder spans ₹59.94 of oil per candle from bottom to top — four percentage points at ₹14.99 each. The wick choices underneath span ₹53.10 per candle and change the melt pool far more than the last point of load does, which is precisely why they are decided second.
Straight answer
Should I choose the wick only after deciding the exact fragrance load for a 200 g oud candle?
Yes, and the reason is physical rather than procedural. A wick is sized to open a full melt pool in a particular wax carrying a particular amount of oil. Fragrance oil is part of what burns in that pool — change its quantity and you change the mixture the flame is working on, which changes pool depth, pool diameter and flame behaviour. So a wick validated at 6% is not validated at 10%. Work in the series order: container → wax → fragrance and load → wick → dye. Start by weighing one filled jar, because a 200 ml jar is not a 200 g jar — the Black Matte Glass Jar page states "fill weight of 200 ml" and dimensions of 8 cm height and 7 cm width, and gives no gram figure at all. This guide works a measured 185 g of wax. Then run five jars at 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10% of total wax weight — 11.10 g to 18.50 g of White Royal Oud, whose page states 6–10% and describes 6–7% as background warmth and 9–10% as a statement scent — all on one wick and one wax, Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at ₹599/kg. Each point costs ₹14.99 per candle, so the whole ladder is ₹59.94 of oil apart. Cure 14 days, judge cold throw, burn them, pick the load. Only then pour six more jars at that load across Eco C1, Eco C2 and Performance Wooden Wicks. The eleven-jar programme costs ₹5,175.80 of materials.
One line: five jars settle the load, six jars settle the wick, and the order matters because the oil is part of what the wick has to burn.
The two-stage kit: White Royal Oud 100gm at ₹810, Luxury Soy Wax Chunks 1 kg at ₹599, Black Matte Glass Jar pack of 10 at ₹708 and all three wick candidates — C1 from ₹118 for 20, C2 ₹188.80 for 20, wooden ₹590 for 10.

Why the wick is the fourth decision

Most failed candles are not badly wicked. They are wicked for a candle that was later changed.

The house rule in this series is a sequence, and it exists because each decision narrows the next one. The container fixes the diameter and the fill — a 7 cm jar and a 10 cm jar are different candles and always will be. The wax fixes the load ceiling and the pour behaviour — Luxury Soy Wax Chunks state 8–13% of total wax weight with 10% recommended, add at 80–90°C, pour at 70–80°C. The oil fixes its own, usually lower, ceiling — White Royal Oud states 6–10%. The wick is chosen against all three at once. And dye is last, because it is the easiest thing to change and the most likely to disturb a wick you have already proved.

Reverse any two of those and you get work you have to repeat. The specific trap in an oud brief is this: oud oils are described on their own pages as strong and base-heavy, which tempts makers to dose high for throw and then reach for a bigger wick when the candle tunnels. Now two variables have moved at once, and the next result is uninterpretable. Move one thing at a time, and move the cheap thing first. A percentage point of oil is ₹14.99 a candle; a wooden wick is ₹59 a candle. Deciding the cheap variable first is also deciding the reversible one first.

The decision order for a 200 g oud jar
What each step fixes, what it costs to change later, and where the number comes from
# Decision What it fixes Source of the number Cost of changing it after the next step
1 Container Diameter, fill weight, hot-pour limit Jar page — and only if it states one. 18 of 78 jar pages state a numeric diameter Everything downstream. The wick was sized to this diameter
2 Wax Load ceiling, add and pour temperatures Wax page: Chunks 8–13%, add 80–90°C, pour 70–80°C Load and wick both need re-proving
3 Fragrance and load The lower of the two ceilings; the fuel mixture Oil page: White Royal Oud 6–10% The wick test, in full. ₹14.99 per point per candle to move
4 Wick Melt pool diameter and depth, flame behaviour Your burn test. CSI publishes a diameter on only two wick pages One burn round — the cheapest step to iterate
5 Dye Colour only Dye page — added last and at the smallest rate that works Retest the wick. Colourant competes with the flame
Hold everything that is not the variable
Across both stages, fix and write down: jar, wax, add temperature, stir time, pour temperature, cure length, room, burn duration. In stage one the only thing that moves is the load. In stage two the only thing that moves is the wick. A test where two things moved is a test you will run again. For the score sheet itself, see how to test hot throw before launching a candle fragrance.

First, find out what your "200 g jar" holds

This is the least glamorous paragraph on the page and the one that saves the most money. Across CSI's 78 listed containers, only a handful of pages state a fill in grams, and most state capacity in millilitres instead. Millilitres are volume; grams are weight; wax is not water. If you plan a 200 g candle from a "200 ml" page you will either overfill or underfill every jar in the batch, and your load percentage will be wrong by the same margin.

Amber / plain Glass Jar with Bamboo Lid "Fill Weight200 gm" — the only 200 gram pages, and both are currently sold out H: 8.5 cm × W: 7.5 cm Not currently available —
The mistake: treating "200 ml" as 200 g and never weighing a jar. Two jars can share a stated millilitre capacity and take different weights of wax, and the same jar takes a different weight of soy than of coconut-soy. Do this once, before you buy anything else: pour water to your intended fill line and note the volume, then melt a small quantity of your chosen wax, fill one jar to that same line, let it set, and weigh the jar full and empty. The difference is your fill weight, and every percentage in your recipe is a percentage of that number. This guide uses a measured 185 g of wax as its worked example — it is an assumption, clearly labelled, and yours may differ by ten grams either way. The container decision in general is covered in the ultimate guide to choosing glass jars.

One more note on the two bamboo-lid jars in the last row. They are the only CSI pages that state a 200 gram fill, and both are currently out of stock — so a maker whose brief is literally "200 g" will in practice be weighing a matte jar or scaling a 150 g one. That is a stock fact, not a design flaw, and it is worth knowing before you build a product around a page you cannot order from today.

The load ladder, priced per percentage point

With a measured fill in hand, the load ladder becomes arithmetic. Load in this series is a percentage of total wax weight, the way CSI's wax pages phrase it. On 185 g of wax, one percentage point is 1.85 g of oil. White Royal Oud is ₹8.10 a gram at 100 gm, so one point is ₹14.99 per candle. The finished weight rises with the load, which is why the finished-candle equivalent in the last column drifts below the headline figure.

Five loads on 185 g of wax · White Royal Oud · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Oil, cost, finished weight and total materials per candle
Load (% of wax weight) Oil Oil cost Finished candle Same load as % of finished candle Materials per candle

10% — the stated cap 18.50 g ₹149.85 203.50 g 9.09% ₹337.37
Worked out above: oil = 185 g × load. Oil cost = oil × ₹8.10 (White Royal Oud 100gm ₹810 ÷ 100). Materials per candle = wax ₹110.82 (185 g × ₹0.599 for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at 1 kg) + oil + jar ₹70.80 (Black Matte Glass Jar, pack of 10 ₹708) + wick ₹5.90 (Eco C1, 20 wicks ₹118). Finished candle = 185 g + oil. The finished-candle percentage = oil ÷ finished weight. No labour, packaging, dye or wastage is included in these figures.

Read the last two columns together and the commercial point lands. Going from 7% to 10% adds ₹44.96 to every candle — at a hundred candles that is ₹4,496, which is more than the entire eleven-jar programme below. And the oil page itself says the low end is a deliberate choice rather than a compromise: 6–7% is described as a refined background warmth, which for a hotel, a spa or a gifting range may be exactly the brief. The highest load is not the best candle. It is the most expensive one.

Don't confuse bottle strength with candle performance. Every oud in the range smells enormous from an open bottle, because you are smelling neat oil at 100%. In a candle it is doing a different job at 7%, through wax, against a flame, after a cure. The only honest way to compare two loads or two oils is a controlled burn on cured candles with everything else held fixed — which is why stage one exists and why it uses five jars rather than a guess. The method is in how to compare two fragrance oils using a controlled burn test, and the reason a strong bottle can still give a quiet candle is in why your candle smells strong cold but weak when lit.

What to buy for the two stages

Four products cover both stages. One oil, one wax, one jar and the wick set. Each card shows every listed pack and the per-unit price, plus how many 200 g candles a pack covers at the working figures above.

1
The oil · stated 6–10%, with both ends described
White Royal Oud
The most useful oud page in the range for this exercise, because it does not just state 6–10% of total wax weight for candles — it tells you what each end is for: "6-7% for a refined, hotel-lobby quality warmth in the background; increase to 9-10% for a boldly decadent statement scent", and "Start at the lower end". It also states 10–15% for wax melts, which is a different format and not a licence to push a candle higher. Available from 15gm to 1kg, with the per-gram price essentially flat from 100gm upward. What the page does not state: a measured flash point, and no vanillin figure — so white wax is untested for colour and belongs in your control jar.

The wax · headroom above the oil's cap
Luxury Soy Wax Chunks for Jar / Container Candles
Chosen here because its stated ceiling of 8–13% of total wax weight (10% recommended) sits comfortably above the oil's 10%, which means the load ladder never runs into the wax's limit — the only ceiling in play is the oil's, and that keeps stage one clean. The page also states fragrance in at 80–90°C, a pour at 70–80°C (its own details table says 75–80°C), and a cure of a minimum 48 hours, ideally one to two weeks, before burn testing. At ₹599 a kilo one bag covers five 185 g test jars with room to spare, and the listed per-kilo price barely changes up to 10 kg.

Black Matte Glass Jar
A matte black 200 ml jar at ₹70.80 each in either pack size, whose page states a "fill weight of 200 ml" and dimensions of height 8 cm, width 7 cm. Matte black suits an oud candle commercially and it hides the one thing an oud is most likely to do to light wax, which is shift colour. Two honest notes about this listing: the capacity is a millilitre figure, so weigh a filled jar before you commit a recipe; and the page's body copy calls the product a "Black Matte Glass Jar" while the same family of listings has some crossed descriptions, so trust the title, the dimensions and your own scale. One CSI customer, Tina Lynette Lazaro Moganti, rates it five stars.

Stage two · the two cotton sizes
Eco Candle Wicks | Eco Wicks for Candle Making
The workhorse cotton wick, sold in two sizes — Thin (C1) and Thick (C2) — which is the honest count: two sizes, not a ladder. Its page recommends the wicks for "soy wax, beeswax, and other eco-friendly waxes" and states no diameter guidance at all; C1 and C2 appear only as variant names. That is why this guide gives you a bracket to test rather than a size to buy. Buy 20 of each: twelve for the wick round, the rest for the repeat you will probably want. The C2 10-pack is currently sold out, so the 20-pack at ₹188.80 is the entry size for the thick variant.

Stage two: three wick candidates, honestly counted

Every guide that promises you "three wick sizes" is quietly inventing one of them.

Here is the real inventory for a 7 cm jar. CSI lists two Eco cotton sizes, C1 and C2, on a page that publishes no diameter. It lists Performance Wooden Wicks, imported, in packs of 10, 50 and 100, again with no diameter stated. And it lists two wick products that do publish a diameter position — Eco Candle Wicks Loose, "designed specifically for 2 inch diameters", and Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made, "engineered for large-diameter candles exceeding 8 cm" with a wick height of 10.16 cm. Two inches is 5.08 cm and "exceeding 8 cm" is above your jar. Neither published diameter statement covers a 7 cm jar. So your third candidate is not a third cotton size — it is a different wick type.

Wick candidates for a 7 cm jar · CSI live pricing, September 2026
What each page states about diameter, and what each costs per candle
Candidate What the page states about size Entry pack Per wick Cheapest listed per wick
Eco Candle Wicks · Thin (C1) No diameter stated. C1 is a variant name only 10 wicks ₹59 ₹5.90 ₹5.90 — flat to 1000 wicks
Eco Candle Wicks · Thick (C2) No diameter stated. 10-pack currently sold out 20 wicks ₹188.80 ₹9.44 ₹9.44 — flat to 1000 wicks
Performance Wooden Wicks No diameter stated. "One Pack contains 10 wicks and wick tabs." Imported Pack of 10 ₹590 ₹59.00 ₹41.30 at the pack of 100
Eco Candle Wicks Loose "designed specifically for 2 inch diameters" — 5.08 cm, narrower than this jar 5 meters ₹413 Sold by length ₹70.80 per metre at 10 m
Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made "engineered for large-diameter candles exceeding 8 cm"; wick height 10.16 cm — wider than this jar Pack of 10 ₹120 ₹12.00 ₹12.00 — flat to 1000

Note the price spread, because it changes how you plan the round. A wooden wick costs ten times a C1 cotton wick at entry pack size — ₹59.00 against ₹5.90 — and the wooden pack is the single most expensive line in the programme below. That is not a reason to leave it out; a wooden wick produces a visibly different flame and pool and is a legitimately different product decision for a premium oud jar. It is a reason to buy the pack of 10 for testing and nothing larger until it wins.

1
Pour stage one: five jars, one wick, five loads185 g of wax in each, then 11.10 g / 12.95 g / 14.80 g / 16.65 g / 18.50 g of White Royal Oud. All five on Eco C1 — not because C1 is right, but because it must be identical across the five. Add fragrance at the wax page's stated 80–90°C, stir two full minutes, pour at 70–80°C, and log the readings from a pen thermometer.
2
Cure 14 days, lids on, then score cold throw blindHave someone else hand you the jars in random order with the labels hidden and rate each 1–5 on strength and on how much it smells like the oud you wanted. Write the scores down before you look at the labels. Cold throw is what sells the candle in the box; hot throw is what keeps the customer.
3
Burn all five for the same duration in the same roomThree hours each, in a closed room with no competing scent, one jar per session. Record: minutes to a full melt pool reaching the glass, pool depth, flame height, mushrooming, any soot, and throw at 30 and 120 minutes. The load that smells best and reaches the glass is your answer; the load that smells best but tunnels on C1 is telling you about the wick, not the load.
4
Freeze the load and write it on the wallOne line: 185 g Luxury Soy Chunks · White Royal Oud at N% of wax weight · N g · add 85°C · stir 2 min · pour 75°C · Black Matte 7 cm jar. Nothing in that line moves again during stage two.
5
Pour stage two: six jars at that one load, three wicks, two eachTwo on C1, two on C2, two on Performance Wooden Wicks. Cure them together. Burn one of each pair at day 14 and the second at day 21, so you also learn whether another week of cure changes the verdict.
6
Judge the wick on the pool, not the smellKeep the wick that opens a full pool to the glass in roughly two to three hours with a steady flame, no mushrooming and no soot on the glass. If none of the three does it, you have learned something real: this jar and this wax want a wick CSI does not currently list a size for, and the honest next move is a different jar diameter or a different wax — not a bigger flame. An oversized wick is a safety problem, and a candle that overheats its glass does not ship. More on that failure mode in wrong wick size is killing your hot throw.
The CSI principle
You cannot size a wick for a candle you have not finished designing. The oil is part of the fuel.
Wick charts read as authoritative because they are printed in tables, but a table cannot know your wax, your oil, your load or your glass. What a supplier can honestly give you is the inventory and the price per wick. What decides the wick is a cured candle, burning, in front of you.

The costed 11-jar programme

Eleven jars: five for the load, six for the wick. The wax and oil quantities below assume a measured 185 g fill and stage two poured at 9%, which is the middle of the upper half of the oil's stated range — adjust if your stage-one winner is lower, and the oil line falls with it.

Two quantity notes so the arithmetic is reproducible. Wax: eleven jars × 185 g = 2,035 g, and a 4% planning allowance for spills and top-ups takes it to 2,116 g — hence two kilos plus a 500 g pack rather than a single 5 kg bag you do not yet need. Oil: stage one uses 11.10 + 12.95 + 14.80 + 16.65 + 18.50 = 74.0 g, and six stage-two jars at 9% use 99.9 g, for 173.9 g before the allowance. Two 100 g bottles at ₹810 each cover it for ₹1,620, against ₹4,051 for a single 500 g bottle you would only half use. Buy the packs the test needs, not the packs production will need.

Keep one jar from every round, unburned and dated
Label it with the full recipe line and put it away. Six months later, when a customer says a candle smells different, the retained jar is the only way to know whether the formula changed, the cure changed or the memory changed. It costs one jar per round — ₹70.80 and a few hundred grams of wax — and it is the cheapest quality control a small maker can run.
Load and wick settled? Wax runs to 10 kg at ₹5,999, White Royal Oud to 1kg at ₹8,103, C1 wicks to 1000 for ₹5,900 and jars to packs of 10 at ₹708. One kilo is the largest listed fragrance pack — beyond it, bulk pricing, GST invoicing and documentation are handled on WhatsApp.

A settled load and a settled wick are settled for that candle. Change one input and you are back in stage two, sometimes stage one. This table is the retest map, and it is worth pinning up because it is what stops a validated formula quietly drifting into a recall.

The retest map
What you changed, and what has to be proved again
What changed Retest the load? Retest the wick? Why
A different oud oil Yes Yes A new oil has its own stated range and its own effect on the burn. Loads are not transferable between oils
A different wax Yes, if its stated ceiling is lower Yes Pour behaviour and pool depth change; CSI 468's stated 50–53°C melting point is nothing like CSI 464's stated 80–90°C
A different jar diameter No Yes Pool diameter is set by the glass. This is the single most common reason a proven wick fails
Same jar, different colour of the same range No Confirm with one jar Same stated dimensions, but weigh one filled jar in case the fill differs
Adding dye No Yes Colourant is extra solid material at the flame. Dye goes in last and the wick is re-proved after it
Bigger packs of the same materials No No Nothing about the formula moved. Pour one confirmation jar per new pack and keep it

And one piece of pack arithmetic for when the formula holds. At 9% of a 185 g fill, one kilo of White Royal Oud at ₹8,103 covers about 60 candles (1,000 ÷ 16.65 = 60.06), and 10 kg of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at ₹5,999 covers about 54 (10,000 ÷ 185 = 54.05). Those two numbers do not match, which is normal and worth planning around: the wax runs out first, and buying to the smaller of the two counts is how you avoid a part-used bottle of an oil you have stopped selling. Above 1 kg of fragrance there is no listed pack — the listed per-kilo price is the ceiling and larger volumes are quoted on WhatsApp.

Decide the expensive thing with cheap jars, and the cheap thing with the expensive test. Never the other way round.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. The commercially convenient answer to "should I dose higher for throw?" is yes, because oil is what we sell. This page instead prices a percentage point at ₹14.99 and tells you to start at the bottom of the oil's own stated range, because a candle that throws properly at 7% is a candle you can price and repeat — and a maker who repeats keeps ordering.

Every price, pack size and specification here comes from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing is always authoritative. Stated loads, temperatures and cure times are quoted only where the product page states them. Where a page is silent we say so: the Eco Candle Wicks C1/C2 page publishes no diameter, the Performance Wooden Wicks page publishes no diameter, White Royal Oud publishes no measured flash point and no vanillin figure, and the matte jar pages state capacity in millilitres rather than grams. The 185 g fill used throughout is a labelled worked assumption, not a published figure — weigh your own jar. No page in the range publishes burn hours, room-coverage figures or glass temperatures, so none appear here. Pages that mention IFRA are describing their own wording; documentation is supplied on request.

Frequently asked questions

Should I pick the wick before or after the fragrance load?
After. The wick is sized to produce a melt pool in a wax that is carrying a specific quantity of fragrance oil, and the oil is part of what burns in that pool. Settle the load first across five identical jars on one wick, then test wick candidates at that single load. The series order is container → wax → fragrance and load → wick → dye, with dye last because colourant competes with the flame and forces a wick retest.
How much oud oil goes into a 200 g candle?
It depends on your jar's measured fill, not on the number in its title. On a measured 185 g of wax, White Royal Oud at its stated 6–10% of total wax weight works out at 11.10 g to 18.50 g — ₹89.91 to ₹149.85 at ₹8.10 a gram. Each percentage point is 1.85 g and ₹14.99. Expressed the other way round, those loads are 5.66% to 9.09% of the finished candle.
Which wick size should I use for a 7 cm candle jar?
Nobody can tell you from a distance, and CSI does not pretend to. Only two wick pages state a diameter position at all — Eco Candle Wicks Loose ("designed specifically for 2 inch diameters", 5.08 cm) and Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made ("exceeding 8 cm") — and neither covers 7 cm. Test a bracket: Eco C1, Eco C2 and a wooden wick as a different type, two jars each, at your settled load.
Is a 200 ml jar the same as a 200 g candle?
No. Millilitres measure volume and grams measure weight, and wax is lighter than water — so a jar stating a "fill weight of 200 ml" will take less than 200 g of soy wax. Different waxes also fill the same jar to different weights. Weigh one filled jar empty and full, use the difference as your fill weight, and calculate every percentage from that. Only two CSI jar pages state a 200 gram fill and both are currently sold out.
Will a higher fragrance load give a stronger oud candle?
Up to a point, and the point is lower than most makers expect. Beyond what the wax holds in solution, extra oil does not bind — it separates and can drown the wick, which makes the candle weaker for more money. White Royal Oud's page caps candles at 10% of total wax weight and explicitly describes 6–7% as a refined background warmth, so the low end is a legitimate product choice. Cure, wick size and pool area do more for perceived strength than the last two points of load.
Are wooden wicks worth ₹59 each for an oud candle?
Only your burn test can answer that, but here is the honest economics. Performance Wooden Wicks are ₹590 for 10 (₹59.00 each), falling to ₹41.30 each at the pack of 100, against ₹5.90 for an Eco C1 cotton wick. That is ₹53.10 more per candle at entry pack size — material on a ₹999 candle, decisive on a ₹399 one. Test two jars before you buy fifty, and note that the page states no diameter, so the wick is still a bracket-and-burn decision.
Load in five jars. Wick in six.
₹14.99 a point, ₹5,175.80 for the whole programme — and a 200 g oud candle you can repeat a hundred times.
White Royal Oud from ₹130 for 15gm and ₹810 for 100gm with a stated 6–10% candle load; Luxury Soy Wax Chunks 1 kg ₹599 (stated 8–13%, add 80–90°C, pour 70–80°C); Black Matte Glass Jar ₹70.80 each in packs of 5 and 10 (page states a 200 ml fill — weigh yours); Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) 20 for ₹118 and Thick (C2) 20 for ₹188.80; Performance Wooden Wicks 10 for ₹590. Figures verified September 2026: Load convention — all percentages are of total wax weight, as CSI's own wax pages phrase it, with the finished-candle equivalents given alongside (6% of wax weight = 5.66% of the finished candle; 7% = 6.54%; 8% = 7.41%; 9% = 8.26%; 10% = 9.09%). Labelled assumptions: a measured fill of 185 g of wax per jar (no CSI page states a gram fill for the matte jar family — weigh your own); stage two poured at 9%; a 4% wastage allowance on wax and oil; a 14-day cure before stage-one judging and day-14/day-21 burns in stage two; three-hour burn sessions. Stated specifications quoted: White Royal Oud 6–10% of total wax weight for candles, 10–15% for wax melts, "6-7% for a refined, hotel-lobby quality warmth in the background", "increase to 9-10% for a boldly decadent statement scent", "Start at the lower end"; Luxury Soy Wax Chunks 8–13% of total wax weight with 10% recommended, add 80–90°C, pour 70–80°C (75–80°C in the same page's details table), cure minimum 48 hours ideally 1–2 weeks before burn testing; Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 melting point 80–90°C; Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 melting point 50–53°C; Black Matte Glass Jar, White Matte Glass Jar and Clear Frosted Glass Jar "fill weight of 200 ml", height 8 cm width 7 cm; Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid "150g fill capacity", height 8cm, outer diameter 7cm, base diameter approximately 6.5 cm, safe for hot pour up to 85°C; Borosilicate Glass Jar 600 gram "Ideal for 500–600g wax fill"; Amber Glass Jar with Bamboo Lid and Glass Jar With Bamboo Lid "Fill Weight200 gm", H: 8.5 cm × W: 7.5 cm (both currently sold out); Eco Candle Wicks C1/C2 state no diameter and recommend "soy wax, beeswax, and other eco-friendly waxes"; Eco Candle Wicks Loose "designed specifically for 2 inch diameters"; Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made "engineered for large-diameter candles exceeding 8 cm", wick height 10.16 cm; Performance Wooden Wicks "One Pack contains 10 wicks and wick tabs", imported, no diameter stated. Computed figures: 1.85 g of oil per percentage point on 185 g of wax; ₹14.99 per point at ₹8.10 a gram; wax ₹110.82 per jar (185 g × ₹0.599); materials per candle = wax + oil + ₹70.80 jar + ₹5.90 wick; programme total ₹5,175.80 = ₹1,497 + ₹1,620 + ₹1,062 + ₹118 + ₹188.80 + ₹590 + ₹100; scale counts 1 kg oil ÷ 16.65 g = 60 candles, 10 kg wax ÷ 185 g = 54 candles.
