When do I have to order? On a 7-day delivery, with pouring the week before sale and a 7-day cure: Order A today (Tuesday 29 September) for weeks 2–3, Order B by Monday 12 October for weeks 4–5, and nothing ordered after Monday 19 October reaches a customer before Diwali. See the timeline.
Should I buy the whole season now? No. Commit Order A now (600 candles) and size Order B from what weeks 1–2 actually sell. If the season only doubles, buying everything today would leave 500 candles' worth of stock: 71.07 kg of wax and 6.18 kg of oil.
What does Order A cost at CSI? Wax 8 × 10 kg + 1 × 5 kg + 1 × 500 g of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks (₹51,286.00), three festive oils (₹41,241.60) and wicks (₹3,658.00): ₹96,185.60 before freight and GST.
What "triple" means in candles
Start by writing the season as weeks. Today is Tuesday 29 September 2026. This week is a normal one at about 100 candles. Diwali is on Sunday 8 November, which closes the fifth full week from Monday 5 October. The title says demand will triple, so the simplest reading is 300 candles in each of those five weeks. A more cautious reading is a ramp: demand builds from one-and-a-half times to triple in the last two weeks. Both are shown. Neither is a forecast; they are your expectation turned into numbers you can check against real sales as the weeks pass.

The gap between the two readings is 300 candles, and it sits almost entirely in the first three weeks. That matters for ordering: the early weeks are the ones you must commit to before you have any festive sales data, and the later weeks are the ones you can size once you have two weeks of evidence. The plan below uses the full triple for safety on the first order and lets real sales decide the second.
Candles into kilos
The title gives weekly sales but not the candle, so this page uses a 150 g finished candle at an 8% fragrance load, a common size for festive gifting; replace it with yours and every kilo scales in proportion. By the CSI convention the load is a share of the finished weight: 12 g of oil and 138 g of wax per candle. With a 3% allowance for pour loss and test candles, a working assumption, each candle draws 142.14 g of wax and 12.36 g of oil. The wax is Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, rated up to 13% fragrance load by the wax maker, so 8% sits well inside it.

Fragrance is split by scent. Festive ranges lean warm, woody and spiced, so the example uses three CSI oils: Sandalwood (40%), Saffron Cedarwood (35%) and Spicy Cinnamon (25%). The split is illustrative. Use last season's scent mix, or your current bestsellers, and note that one scent can run much hotter than the others in a festival. The timeline to 8 November
Work backwards from each sales week. A candle sold in a given week has to be poured the week before and left to cure. This page uses a 7-day cure as a working checkpoint, not a specification; soy candles are commonly given one to two weeks, and your own tests decide. The materials have to be on the shelf before pouring starts, and your supplier needs time to deliver them. This page uses a 7-day delivery, the reader's own figure; CSI does not publish delivery times, and festival weeks can run slower. Chain those together and every sales week has a latest order date.

Two things fall out of the table. First, week 1 cannot be fed by any new order: its materials needed to be on the shelf on Monday 28 September. If your current stock cannot cover 300 candles (42.64 kg of wax, 3.71 kg of oil) plus the rest of this week, week 1 will be short, and the honest fix is to accept that and put the effort into weeks 2–5. Second, week 2's materials should have been ordered yesterday. Order A placed today arrives around Tuesday 6 October, so week 2's pour starts a day late. Pour first what sells first.
Order A and Order B, priced
Order A covers weeks 2 and 3 at the full triple: 600 candles. It is the order you commit to blind, before any festive sales data exists, so it is sized at the planning case. Order B covers weeks 4 and 5. At the full triple it is the same 600 candles; but it is placed on Monday 12 October, after you have seen weeks 1 and 2, and should be resized from them. Everything is rounded to CSI's listed in-stock packs: wax up to 10 kg bags, oils in bottles of 50 g to 1 kg.

If weeks 1 and 2 come in at double rather than triple, Order B shrinks by 200 candles and ₹31,780.00. That is the value of splitting the season: you only guess once. Jars, lids, labels and boxes follow the same two-order logic; CSI prices the wax, oils and wicks here, and your packaging suppliers' own festive lead times may be longer than 7 days.

If the season only doubles
Festive expectations are usually optimistic, and the cost of optimism lands in December. Suppose you bought the whole season up front at triple, 1,500 candles' worth for ₹2,38,459.32, and the five weeks actually ran at double: 1,000 candles. You would carry 500 candles' worth of materials past Diwali: 71.07 kg of wax and 6.18 kg of fragrance.

The two-order plan exists to cap this. With Order A committed at triple and Order B sized from real data, the most you can over-buy is Order A's share of a disappointing season, not the whole season. It also lets you move fragrance between scents in Order B: if Sandalwood is flying and Spicy Cinnamon is not, Order B is where you rebalance.
After Diwali
