Diwali 2026 falls on Sunday 8 November. This page is the calendar that runs backwards from that date to the day you place the order, and the fully itemised material list for a 500-unit and a 1,000-unit run at 184g of wax a candle.
₹218.32
materials per finished 184g + 16g candle on a 500-unit run · ₹215.68 at 1,000 units · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
When is the last sensible day to order materials? Saturday 5 September if you want the full 21-day cure that woody and gourmand oils want. Wednesday 16 September if you compress to a 14-day cure. After 16 September you are not planning a Diwali run any more, you are shortening one.

What does it actually cost? ₹1,09,158.60 in materials for 500 candles, ₹2,15,676.80 for 1,000 — wax, fragrance, wicks, wick stickers, jars and care stickers, at CSI list pricing. Packaging is quoted separately.

Does doubling the run make it cheaper? Barely. ₹2.64 a candle, and ₹2.51 of that is just less oil left in the drum. CSI's pack pricing is close to linear, so a real volume price comes from asking on WhatsApp, not from clicking a bigger pack.

Which scents? Base-heavy ones — sandalwood, oud, vanilla, apple cinnamon, roasted coffee. They suit the season and they survive a short cure. Delicate florals do neither.
The short answer
Fix the date first, not the recipe: 8 November is Diwali, sell-through starts 24 October, dispatch is 18 October, packing is 15–17 October, the cure ends 14 October, and a 21-day cure means you pour by 23 September.
Buy wax, fragrance, wicks and jars from one order so it all arrives on one date. For 500 candles at 184g: 95kg of CSI 464, 8.5kg of fragrance across three scents, 550 Eco Wicks, 500 200ml Salsa Jars and a roll of care stickers.
Cut the scent range, do not extend it. Three scents on 500 units is a business. Eight scents on 500 units is 62 candles each, no depth in any of them, and eight drums of oil to store in December.
Shop: Candle Wax · Fragrance Oils · Containers · Wicks · bulk on WhatsApp.
The reverse Diwali calendar — 64 days from the order to the festival ORDER → ON THE BENCH POUR LIDS ON · CARTONS CLOSED PACK → DISPATCH SELL-THROUGH 11 DAYS 7 DAYS CURE · 21 DAYS 10 DAYS 15 DAYS 5 SEP · ORDER 16 SEP 23 SEP 14 OCT 24 OCT 8 NOV · DIWALI You read it left to right. You plan it right to left — every date is fixed by the one after it.
Sixty-four days, drawn to scale, for a 500-unit run on the full 21-day cure that woody and gourmand oils want. The cure is the widest block on the chart and the only one you cannot compress by working harder — it is calendar time, not labour. Shorten it to 14 days and every date to its left slides eleven days later: the order date moves from 5 September to 16 September. That is the whole decision this page is about.
Straight answer
Where do I source wax, fragrance, wicks and jars for a bulk Diwali run, and when?
From one supplier, in one order, on one date — because a festive run fails on arrival dates, not on ingredient quality. Everything on this page ships from CSI stock in India: Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at ₹5,074 per 10kg, 92 fragrance oils from ₹2.83 a gram, Eco Candle Wicks from ₹5.90, 200ml Salsa Jars at ₹29.50 in hundreds, and care stickers at ₹0.83. For 500 candles at 184g of wax and 16g of oil each, that is ₹1,09,158.60 — ₹218.32 a candle. The date matters more than the total. Diwali 2026 is Sunday 8 November. Retail needs stock by 24 October, which means dispatch by 18 October, packing 15–17 October, and a 21-day cure that has to start by 23 September. Allowing pour days and transit, that puts the last sensible order at 5 September — or 16 September on a compressed 14-day cure. Miss both and you should cut the run or cut the range, not cut the cure to a week. And ask for your bulk price on WhatsApp early, because in October everyone asks at once.
One line: the festive run is a calendar problem — order by 5 September for a 21-day cure or 16 September for 14 days, buy 95kg of wax, 8.5kg of oil, 550 wicks and 500 jars in one go for ₹1,09,158.60, and pour three scents rather than eight.
The wax is the long-lead line and the heaviest carton. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at ₹5,074 per 10kg (₹507.40/kg) is the cheapest container soy in the range at bulk, and the 5kg pack is the same ₹507.40/kg — so buy the exact weight, not a round number.

The reverse calendar, with real dates

Nobody misses Diwali because they could not find wax. They miss it because they started counting forwards from today instead of backwards from 8 November.

Diwali 2026 falls on Sunday 8 November. That is the only fixed point; every other date is derived from it by subtraction. Work forwards and you will always feel like you have time. Work backwards and the picture is honest: the cure eats three weeks, packing and courier another ten days, the retail window a fortnight. Here is the full schedule for a 500-unit run at 184g of wax plus 16g of fragrance — a 200g fill at 8%. Read it bottom-up, which is the order you have to decide it in.

The full schedule · 21-day cure · 500 units
Every date subtracted from Sunday 8 November 2026
Date What happens Why it cannot move
Sun 8 Nov Diwali. The candle is lit in somebody's house Fixed
Sat 24 Oct Stock in hand at retail, marketplace listings live, your own site restocked Festive buying starts roughly a fortnight out and peaks in the final week
Tue 20 Oct Corporate and bulk gifting orders delivered to the client Corporates distribute internally before the holiday — they need it earlier than retail does
Sun 18 Oct Dispatch. Last courier handover for surface delivery across India 5–7 days transit to tier-2 and tier-3 addresses. This is the hard wall
Thu 15 – Sat 17 Oct Pack: lids, care stickers, labels, boxes, cartons, manifest 500 units is two to three working days for two people, not an evening
Wed 23 Sep – Wed 14 Oct Cure — 21 days. Lids on, cartons closed, room temperature, out of sunlight Calendar time. No amount of labour shortens it
Sat 19 – Wed 23 Sep Pour days. Roughly 125 units a day at a two-person bench Melt, add at temperature, stir two minutes, pour, wick, settle, top up
Wed 16 Sep Test pour and burn check in the actual jar you bought The one day that saves the run. Wrong wick found on day one, not day forty
Mon 14 Sep Materials on the bench, counted, breakage reported Two clear days before the first pour, not the morning of
Sat 5 Sep Order placed with CSI 5–8 days transit for a multi-carton order with glass in it
The trap in that table is the cure, and Diwali has it worse than any other season. Fresh and citrus blends are usually settled at 14 days, florals at 14 to 18, and woody, gourmand and oriental oils — sandalwood, oud, vanilla, spice, coffee — keep improving to 21. Those are exactly the oils Diwali buyers want. The festival that most rewards base-heavy scent is the festival with the longest cure, which is why the last sensible order date lands so much earlier than makers expect. Plan a sandalwood range on a 10-day cure and you ship a candle that will be good in three weeks, to a customer burning it tonight.

If you have already missed 5 September

Most people reading this in mid-September have. It is not a disaster, and the answer is not to panic-buy and pour on the weekend. There are three levers, pulled in this order.

1
Compress the cure to 14 days and re-cut the calendarEverything left of the cure slides eleven days later. Order by Wednesday 16 September, materials on the bench 24 September, pour 26–30 September, cure 30 September to 14 October. Dispatch on 18 October does not move — it never moves. A woody or gourmand candle at 14 days is good but not at its best, and you want to learn that from your own sample rather than from a customer.
2
Change the scent brief, if the range allows itThe textbook move on a short cure is to switch to fresh and citrus, which peak at 14 days; Citrus Lemon at ₹2,832 a kilo is also the cheapest oil in the catalogue, ₹45.31 a candle. Use it if your festive range is kitchen and bathroom gifting. Do not use it for a Diwali hamper — sandalwood at 14 days still outsells lemon at 14 days into that occasion. The right compromise is a short cure on the right scent, not a full cure on the wrong one.
3
Cut the run, not the cureIf 16 September has also gone, stop enlarging the problem. Drop 1,000 units to 500, or 500 to 250, and pour a range you can cure properly and ship early. A smaller batch of good candles delivered on 18 October earns reorders in January; a larger batch of eight-day candles delivered on 3 November earns refund requests. It is the most expensive mistake of the season and it is always made in the last week of September.
4
What you must not doDo not cut the cure below 14 days on a woody or gourmand range. Do not skip the test pour — a wrong wick found after 500 units are poured costs the whole run. Do not add a scent in the last fortnight because a customer asked. And do not dispatch after 18 October telling yourself the courier will cope; that is the week the network is at its worst.
Put the cure end date on the carton
Write the pour date and the earliest ship date on every cure carton in marker, on the day you pour it. In week three, with three scents at three stages stacked in one room, memory is not a system. A ₹0 control that prevents the commonest festive error: shipping the youngest carton first because it was nearest the door.

The festive order, itemised

A 184g wax fill with 16g of fragrance gives a 200g finished candle at an 8% load — the standard commercial container candle in India, and the size most Diwali gifting is built around. Below is the whole order in CSI pack sizes with the real total, at CSI live pricing, September 2026; the linked product page is always authoritative.

The fragrance line assumes three scents split 200 / 175 / 125 — sandalwood as the anchor, apple cinnamon as the warm crowd-pleaser, roasted coffee as the one that stands out on a shelf of sandalwood. Wicks and wick stickers carry about 4% spare, because a mis-set wick scraps a candle and a spare wick costs ₹9.44.

500-unit Diwali run · 184g wax + 16g oil per candle
Every line in CSI pack sizes, at list price
Line What to order Quantity Cost
Wax Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (flakes) 9 × 10kg + 1 × 5kg = 95kg (need 92kg) ₹48,203.00
Fragrance 1 Sandalwood Fragrance Oil 3 × 1kg + 1 × 500g = 3.5kg (200 candles) ₹17,593.80
Fragrance 2 Apple Cinnamon Fragrance Oil 3 × 1kg (175 candles) ₹14,230.80
Fragrance 3 Roasted Coffee Fragrance 2 × 1kg (125 candles) ₹7,476.00
Wicks Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) 500 + 50 spare, at ₹9.44 each ₹5,192.00
Wick stickers Candle Wick Stickers 13 sheets × 40 = 520 ₹1,300.00
Jars 200ml Salsa Glass Jar, golden lug lid 5 × 100 Pcs, at ₹29.50 each ₹14,750.00

Packaging Packaging Materials — boxes, filler, outer cartons Quoted per unit on WhatsApp Not priced here
Total Materials for 500 finished candles ₹218.32 per candle ₹1,09,158.60

The same order at 1,000 units. The split doubles to 400 / 350 / 250 and the wax goes to 19 × 10kg — 190kg against the 184kg needed, the closest pack combination that does not leave 6kg of soy in a bag until February.

1,000-unit Diwali run · same 184g + 16g candle
What doubling the run actually costs, and what it actually saves
Line Quantity Cost Per candle
Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 19 × 10kg = 190kg ₹96,406.00 ₹96.41
Sandalwood 6 × 1kg + 1 × 500g = 6.5kg ₹32,674.20 —
Apple Cinnamon 6 × 1kg ₹28,461.60 —
Roasted Coffee 4 × 1kg ₹14,952.00 —
Fragrance subtotal 16.5kg ₹76,087.80 ₹76.09
Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) 1,000 + 100 spare ₹10,384.00 ₹10.38
Candle Wick Stickers 26 sheets × 40 = 1,040 ₹2,600.00 ₹2.60
200ml Salsa Glass Jars 10 × 100 Pcs ₹29,500.00 ₹29.50
Candle Care Stickers Roll 1 × Pack of 1000 (1.5 inch) ₹699.00 ₹0.70
Total 1,000 finished candles ₹2,15,676.80 ₹215.68
Doubling the run saves ₹2.64 a candle. That is the honest number, and it is not a typo. ₹2.51 of it is simply less oil left in the drum; the other ₹0.13 is the care sticker roll dropping from ₹0.83 to ₹0.70. Everything else is flat. CSI 464 is ₹507.40/kg at 5kg and at 10kg. Eco Wicks are ₹9.44 each at 20, 100, 500 and 1,000. The salsa jar steps down once, ₹40.12 at 5 pieces to ₹29.50 at 50, then never again. There is no volume discount hiding in the catalogue at 1,000 units. A genuine bulk price has to be asked for on WhatsApp, with quantities and dates, before October.
Substitutions worth knowing. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at ₹5,999/10kg (₹599/kg) buys the higher stated ceiling — 13% against 10% on CSI 464 — worth it only if you intend to pour above 10%. Eco Soy CSI 400 is ₹1,996 for 5kg. Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 at ₹6,370/10kg is ₹0.637/g against ₹0.5074/g — ₹23.85 more per 184g candle, a premium-tier decision rather than a rounding error. The 200ml Salsa Red jar at ₹62.00 is unmistakably festive and ₹32.50 dearer per candle — ₹16,250 more on 500 units. A matte glass jar is ₹70.80 each in packs of 5 or 10. Eco Wicks Thin (C1) at ₹5.90 saves ₹1,770 on 500 units if your test burn says the narrower wick opens the pool.
Two things that are not in the total, and should be in your plan
Headspace. The salsa jar is a 200ml vessel and a 184g soy fill sits close to the brim. Fill one with water the day the sample arrives, weigh it, and set your real fill weight from that — not from this page. Breakage. Glass travels across India in cartons and some of it does not arrive intact. Count every jar carton on the day it lands, photograph breakage before you move it, report it the same day. Finding a shortfall of forty jars on pour day is a scheduling failure, not a supplier failure.
Order all four categories in one basket so they arrive on one date. 92 fragrance oils in 15g, 50g, 100g, 500g and 1kg, wax from ₹260 per 500g, wicks from ₹59, and 80 products in the containers collection.

Five Diwali scents, priced per candle

Diwali wants weight. Warm light, sweets, wood smoke, marigold, a house full of people — the scents that read as festive in that setting are almost all base-heavy: sandalwood, oud, vanilla, warm spice, roasted coffee. Convenient, because base-heavy oils also survive a compressed cure with the least damage. A delicate floral or a light aquatic loses most of what makes it good at day ten. A sandalwood at day ten is a slightly quieter sandalwood.

All costs below are at 16g per candle at 1kg pricing, the tier you should be buying at on a 500-unit run. The same oil in 100g jars costs materially more per gram across most of the range.

Festive scent shortlist · fragrance cost per 200g candle at 8%
All prices at the 1kg tier, CSI live pricing, September 2026
Oil 1kg price Per gram Per candle (16g) Why it works for Diwali
Roasted Coffee ₹3,738.00 ₹3.74 ₹59.81 Cheapest strong-throw option here. Stands out on a shelf where everything else is sandalwood
Woody Oud ₹4,531.20 ₹4.53 ₹72.50 Reads as expensive from the label. The obvious anchor for a premium gifting tier
Apple Cinnamon ₹4,743.60 ₹4.74 ₹75.90 Warm spice, universally liked, and the one customers describe to their friends
Sandalwood ₹5,026.80 ₹5.03 ₹80.43 The festival scent. Sells without explanation into every Diwali hamper in the country
Dark Vanilla Oud ₹5,691.00 ₹5.69 ₹91.06 Vanilla weight with an oud backbone — the compromise between crowd-pleasing and premium
Spicy Cinnamon ₹6,499.00 ₹6.50 ₹103.98 Sharper and more assertive than apple cinnamon. Better in a large room
Vanilla Bean ₹7,646.00 ₹7.65 ₹122.34 The most reliable hot throw in soy, and legible from the label before anyone lights it
Santal Noir ₹9,120.00 ₹9.12 ₹145.92 Top of the range. Only worth it if your retail price genuinely carries ₹145.92 of oil

The spread in that last column is the whole pricing argument: ₹59.81 to ₹145.92 for the same 16 grams. Roasted coffee and sandalwood together cost less per candle than Santal Noir alone. The gap between a ₹59.81 oil and a ₹122.34 oil is ₹62.53 a candle — over ten per cent of a ₹599 selling price, and ₹31,265 across 500 units. Choose deliberately, and read how to price candles in India in 2026 before you set the retail number, not after.

The CSI principle
Cut your scent range for a festive run. Do not extend it.
We sell 92 fragrance oils and it is against our interest to say this, but eight scents on a 500-unit run is 62 candles of each — no depth in any line, eight sets of labels, eight cure cartons, eight part-used drums to store in December, eight chances to be the one that did not sell. Three scents at 200, 175 and 125 gives a range a customer understands in four seconds on a stall, and leaves you free to pour more of whichever moves first. Every extra scent multiplies admin and divides depth.
One deliberate exception. A corporate gifting client will often want a single exclusive scent, and that one is worth adding as a fourth: it is pre-sold, the quantity is known, and it does not compete for shelf space. Quite different from adding a fourth retail scent because you liked the sample. Pre-sold volume justifies range. Optimism does not.

Two notes on buying. Sandalwood is ₹5.03 a gram at 1kg and an identical ₹5.03 at 500g, so pack size on that oil is about matching your requirement rather than chasing a discount. And sample anything you have not poured before — in your actual jar, with your actual wax — before committing 3kg. A 15g sample of every oil in this shortlist costs between ₹93.22 and ₹166.00. Three kilos of the wrong sandalwood is ₹15,080.40 and a lost season. More arithmetic in how much fragrance oil a candle business needs and the best oils for festive bulk orders.

A festive range is not a catalogue. It is three things you can make five hundred of.

Gifting formats: sets, votives and tins

Most Diwali volume is not somebody buying a candle for themselves. It is somebody buying presents, for several people, at a price point decided before they reach your stall. A gifting buyer is not comparing grams — they are comparing how the box looks when it opens, and two smaller candles look like more of a gift than one larger one at the same materials cost.

The arithmetic agrees. Four formats, all built from the same CSI 464 at ₹0.5074/g and the same Sandalwood at ₹5.0268/g, at an 8% load, wick and wick sticker included.

Gifting format economics · sandalwood, 8% load
Container, wax, oil, wick and sticker — everything but the outer box
Format Container Wax + oil Wick + sticker Materials total
One 184g jar candle 200ml Salsa Jar ₹29.50 ₹93.36 + ₹80.43 ₹9.44 + ₹2.50 ₹215.23
Two 70g votives (a set) 2 × Clear Glass Votive 70g ₹31.86 2 × (₹32.68 + ₹28.15) 2 × (₹5.90 + ₹2.50) ₹202.18
One 85g aluminium tin Golden Aluminium Tin 85g ₹30.00 ₹39.68 + ₹34.18 ₹5.90 + ₹2.50 ₹112.26
One 50g velvet heart jar Heart Cutout Velvet Jar 50g, red ₹45.00 ₹23.34 + ₹20.11 ₹5.90 + ₹2.50 ₹96.85

Read the first two rows against each other. A pair of 70g votives costs ₹202.18 in materials; a single 184g jar costs ₹215.23. The pair is ₹13.05 cheaper, delivers 140g of candle instead of 184g, and arrives as two objects instead of one. In a gifting box two objects photograph better, unbox better, and can be split between two rooms or two people. That is more perceived value per rupee, and it is why the two-candle set dominates Diwali listings.

Lower-price gifting units. The Golden Aluminium Tin at ₹30.00 is the best-value gifting container on the store: ₹112.26 of materials for a finished 85g candle, no breakage in transit, and it stacks. The Heart Cutout Velvet Jar in red at ₹45.00 has the highest container-to-wax ratio here — the vessel is the product — and it works precisely because it is a gift. For a premium tin, Tin Containers 85g are ₹849.60 per 12 (₹70.80 each) with the mandala design, 135g ₹1,161.12 per 12 (₹96.76 each). Cheapest bulk container of all: Mini Glass Jars at ₹21.24 each in hundreds.
Build one gifting SKU, not four
One scent pairing, one box, one label, one price. Pouring a votive is the same operation as pouring a jar, but every extra set configuration is another packing instruction, another barcode and another chance to send the wrong box. Decide the pairing once — sandalwood with roasted coffee, say — and pour it 250 times.

The risk nobody plans for: everyone orders in the same three weeks

The material was in stock in August. It was in stock in early September. In the first week of October, it was in somebody else's carton.

This is the part of festive sourcing no supplier enjoys writing down, so here it is plainly. A supplier can run out. That includes CSI. Indian makers do not spread festive orders across the year — they order in a narrow band from late September to mid-October, all of them, for the same season, often for the same five scents. An oil comfortably in stock for eleven months can go to zero inside that band, and the restock is a manufacturing lead time, not a shelf being refilled.

The shape of the risk is visible already, outside festive season. On the September 2026 stock pull the 100-sticker sheet of wick stickers was out while the 40-sticker sheet was fine; Eco Wicks Thick (C2) was out in the 10-wick pack; several votive and 150g jar colours were gone. None of that is dramatic on an ordinary Tuesday. All of it is a stopped production line if you find it on 2 October.

What protects a run is a forecast, sent early, in writing. Not an order — a forecast. Message us on WhatsApp in August or the first week of September with four things: scents and quantities, wax and total kilos, jar and count, and the week you need it on your bench. Stock can then be held or ordered against a real number instead of a guess. Makers who send "do you have 6kg of sandalwood?" on 5 October are asking a question whose answer was decided in August. This is not a sales line — it is the highest-return thing on this page and it costs one message.

Corporate and bulk gifting: what to send for a quote

Corporate orders are the best volume in the season — one buyer, one address, one invoice, known quantity, paid on a purchase order — and they are decided earlier than retail. Whether you are quoting for one or asking CSI to quote the materials behind one, send all of this in a single message rather than across nine.

1
Quantity and formatTotal units, fill weight in grams, and whether it is single candles, two-candle sets, votives or tins. "500 candles" and "500 two-candle sets" are a 1,000-unit difference in wicks, jars and pour days.
2
Scents and the splitNamed oils with a unit count against each — "Sandalwood 400, Apple Cinnamon 350, Roasted Coffee 250", not "a mix of festive scents". The split determines whether the stock exists.
3
Wax, wick and container, by product nameStore product names, not descriptions: Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464, Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2), 200ml Salsa Glass Jar. Not chosen yet? Say what jar diameter you are working to and ask.
4
The bench date, and your GST detailsNot "as soon as possible" — the actual date from your own reverse calendar. Add your GSTIN and delivery pincode so invoice and freight are quoted together. Say if you need MSDS or IFRA documentation; both are available on request.

Two last points. Order packaging on the same timeline as your wax. Boxes, filler and outer cartons in the packaging materials collection are quoted per unit rather than listed at one bulk price, so ask early: a cured candle waiting for a box is a fully paid-for asset earning nothing. And keep your invoices. A festive run is where most small candle businesses first need GST invoicing on inputs to make the numbers work. Wider supply picture: buying everything from one supplier and wholesale raw materials across India.

The one-sentence version of this whole section
The material you cannot get in October was available in August, and the only difference between the two makers is that one sent a forecast. Message +91 7397976926 with quantities and dates before the end of September, every year, whether or not you are ready to pay.

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. On a festive page that matters twice over. The commercially convenient advice would be "add more scents" and "order the bigger pack"; this page tells you to cut the range to three and shows that the bigger pack saves ₹2.64 a candle. It also says out loud that we can run out in October, because a maker who plans around that gets their materials and a maker who does not blames the supplier and buys elsewhere next year.

Every price, pack size and product here is taken from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing and specification always take precedence. Totals are arithmetic on those listed prices at the pack combinations shown, and exclude tax, freight and packaging. Fragrance load ceilings are the wax manufacturers' stated maximums — up to 13% for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, up to 10% for CSI 464 — and are formulation limits, not regulatory limits. There are 92 fragrance oils and 80 containers in those collections as of that pull.

Frequently asked questions

When is the last date to order candle making materials for Diwali 2026?
Diwali 2026 is Sunday 8 November. Working back through a 24 October retail date, an 18 October dispatch, three packing days and a 21-day cure, the pour must start by 23 September and materials be on your bench by 14 September — putting the order at Saturday 5 September, allowing 5–8 days transit. On a 14-day cure every date left of the cure slides eleven days and the last sensible order date becomes Wednesday 16 September. After that, reduce the run rather than the cure.
What does a 500-candle Diwali run cost in materials?
₹1,09,158.60, or ₹218.32 a candle, at CSI list pricing in September 2026 for a 184g wax fill with 16g of fragrance. That is 95kg of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at ₹48,203, 8.5kg of fragrance across three scents at ₹39,300.60, 550 Eco Candle Wicks at ₹5,192, 520 wick stickers at ₹1,300, 500 200ml Salsa Jars at ₹14,750 and a roll of care stickers at ₹413. Packaging, tax and freight are additional.
Is it cheaper per candle to make 1,000 instead of 500?
Only by ₹2.64 a candle, and ₹2.51 of that is fragrance you would otherwise leave in the drum. CSI 464 is ₹507.40 per kilo at both 5kg and 10kg; Eco Candle Wicks are ₹9.44 each at every pack from 20 upwards; the 200ml Salsa Jar is ₹29.50 at 50 pieces and still ₹29.50 at 100. Pack pricing is close to linear, so a real volume price is negotiated rather than clicked — send quantities and dates on WhatsApp well before October.
Which fragrance oils are best for Diwali candles?
Base-heavy ones — they suit the occasion and they survive a shorter cure. At 16g per candle at 1kg pricing: Roasted Coffee ₹59.81, Woody Oud ₹72.50, Apple Cinnamon ₹75.90, Sandalwood ₹80.43 and Dark Vanilla Oud ₹91.06. Delicate florals and light aquatics are the wrong choice: they need most help from a cure you may not have, and they do not read as festive.
How many scents should I pour for a festive run?
Three. Split 200 / 175 / 125 across 500 units, or 400 / 350 / 250 across 1,000. Eight scents on a 500-unit run leaves 62 candles in each line, which is not enough depth to restock a stall, and it multiplies your labels, cure cartons, part-used drums and packing errors by eight. Add a fourth only when it is pre-sold — a corporate client's exclusive scent qualifies; a sample you enjoyed does not.
Can a supplier run out of fragrance oil before Diwali?
Yes, and that includes CSI. Indian makers order festive materials in a narrow band from late September to mid-October, for the same season and often the same handful of scents, and a restock is a manufacturing lead time rather than a shelf being refilled. The protection is a written forecast sent in August or early September — scents and quantities, wax and kilos, jar and count, and the week you need it — on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926. Ordering late in a season when everyone orders at once is the commonest way a festive run fails.

About this guide: Written by the CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA team. Product recommendations reflect the CSI range; the reverse calendar, the cost arithmetic and the gifting-format comparison apply to any supplier.

Customer reviews: The six reviews at the top of this page are genuine, published Judge.me reviews left by CSI customers on their product pages. Names, star ratings, dates and products are as recorded by Judge.me, and all six are recorded by Judge.me as verified buyers; one longer review is shortened with an ellipsis and is otherwise unedited.

Dates: Diwali 2026 falls on Sunday 8 November. All other dates on this page are calculated backwards from it: retail stock in hand 24 October, corporate delivery 20 October, dispatch 18 October, packing 15–17 October, a 21-day cure from 23 September to 14 October, pour days 19–23 September, test pour 16 September, materials on the bench 14 September, order placed 5 September. The compressed alternative uses a 14-day cure from 30 September to 14 October, pour days 26–30 September, materials 24 September and an order date of 16 September. Cure lengths of 14–21 days reflect standard practice for soy container candles, with fresh and citrus settling at 14 days and woody, gourmand and oriental oils improving to 21. Transit and packing durations are planning allowances, not guaranteed times.
