One hundred 150 g scented candles, costed as an order rather than as a recipe: the packs you add to the cart, the spares you allow for, and the stock you still own when the run is finished.
₹27,968.68
CSI materials ordered for 100 candles at 150 g a candle · ₹255.12 of that is consumed per candle, the balance is stock for the next run · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What raw materials do I need for 100 scented candles? Seven lines. For 100 candles at a 150 g fill: 16 kg of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, 1,300 g of Apple Cinnamon Fragrance Oil at 8% of wax weight, 110 Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1), 120 wick stickers, 110 Clear Glass Jars with Golden Lid, one roll of candle care stickers and one bottle of dye if you are colouring. That order is ₹27,968.68.

How much wax do 100 candles need? At a 150 g fill, 100 candles hold 15 kg of wax. Add a 5% allowance for what stays in the pitcher, the second pour and the test candles and you are buying 16 kg. In Luxury Soy Wax Chunks that is three 5 kg bags and one 1 kg bag, ₹9,584.00, because the 1 kg and 5 kg packs work out to the same ₹599.00 per kilogram.

What does one candle in this run cost in materials? ₹255.12 of CSI materials — ₹89.85 of wax, ₹56.92 of fragrance, ₹94.40 for the lidded jar, ₹5.90 for the wick, ₹2.50 for the wick sticker, ₹0.83 for the care label and ₹4.72 of dye. Outer packaging, printed labels, courier and your own time are not in that figure, because CSI does not sell them.

Why is the order bigger than the candles need? Because you buy packs, not grams. The order is ₹27,968.68 but the hundred candles consume ₹25,511.92. The difference, ₹2,456.76, is a kilogram of wax, 100 g of fragrance, ten wicks, ten jars, twenty wick stickers and 400 care labels sitting on your shelf. That is stock for the next run, not waste — but it is money that is not in this month's candles.
The short answer
Seven packs: wax, fragrance, wicks, wick stickers, jars, care labels and dye. Ordered together from live stock they come to ₹27,968.68 for a hundred 150 g candles.
Three allowances: 5% on wax for the pitcher and the second pour, 5% on fragrance, and 4% on wicks, stickers and jars for breakage and setting errors. All three are assumptions stated on this page, not measured CSI data.
Four blanks: printed labels, outer packaging, courier and your own labour. CSI sells none of them, so this sheet gives each one a blank row and totals the page as CSI materials plus your own costs.
Ordered versus consumed on a 100-candle order What 100 candles order, what 100 candles use Black = consumed by the run · outline = left on the shelf afterwards Wax · 16 kg 94% Fragrance · 1,300 g 92% Wicks · 110 91% Wick stickers · 120 83% Jars · 110 91% Care stickers · 500 20% Dye · 1 bottle 100% Order ₹27,968.68 · consumed ₹25,511.92 · on the shelf ₹2,456.76
Every line of a 100-candle order is bought in packs, so every line ends the run with something left. Black is what the hundred candles consume, the outline is what stays on your shelf. The care sticker roll is the extreme case — 500 stickers for a run that needs 100 — and it is still the cheapest way to buy them at ₹0.83 each. Labour, packaging and courier are not shown here because CSI does not sell them.
Straight answer
Exactly what do I have to buy to make 100 scented candles?
Start from the candle, not the shopping list. This page costs one hundred 150 g soy candles in a lidded glass jar, scented at 8% of wax weight. That gives you 15,000 g of wax and 1,200 g of fragrance in the candles themselves, plus 100 wicks, 100 wick stickers, 100 jars and 100 care labels. Add the allowances — 5% on wax and fragrance for the pitcher, the second pour and two test candles, 4% on the counted items for breakage and mis-set wicks — and the requirement becomes 15,750 g of wax, 1,260 g of oil and 104 of everything counted. Now round to packs that exist: three 5 kg bags plus one 1 kg bag of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks (₹9,584.00), one 1 kg plus three 100 gm bottles of Apple Cinnamon Fragrance Oil (₹6,166.68), two 50-wick packs plus one 10-wick pack of Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) (₹649.00), three sheets of Candle Wick Stickers (₹300.00), eleven packs of ten Clear Glass Jars with Golden Lid (₹10,384.00), one 500-sticker roll of Candle Care Stickers (₹413.00) and one 50 gm bottle of Candle Dye Liquid (₹472.00) if you are colouring. Total: ₹27,968.68, or ₹279.69 a candle as ordered and ₹255.12 a candle as consumed. What is not in that number: printed labels, mailers or cartons, protective packing, ribbon, courier, electricity and your own hours. CSI does not sell those and publishes no rates for them, so they get blank rows further down instead of invented figures.
One line: One hundred 150 g candles need 16 kg of wax, 1,300 g of oil, 110 wicks and 110 jars — ₹27,968.68 ordered, ₹255.12 consumed per candle, and four rows only you can fill.
Ordering for a hundred candles this week? The seven packs on this page are all in live stock: Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at ₹599.00 a kilogram, Apple Cinnamon Fragrance Oil at ₹4.74 a gram in the 1 kg pack, Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) at ₹5.90 each and Clear Glass Jars with Golden Lid at ₹94.40 each in packs of ten.

The whole order on one screen

A procurement list is not a recipe. A recipe tells you what goes into a candle; a list tells you what goes into a cart.

Here is a hundred candles as a purchase order. The candle being costed is a 150 g soy fill in a lidded glass jar, scented at 8% of wax weight, single wick, one colour. The Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid page gives a 150 g fill capacity, 8 cm height with the lid on and a 7 cm outer rim, and describes it as hot-pour safe to 85°C — which sits comfortably above the 75–80°C pour temperature the Luxury Soy Wax Chunks page asks for. Every quantity below already carries its allowance, and every pack below is a variant that exists on the store today.

The 100-candle order
Everything one hundred 150 g scented candles requires, as packs you can actually buy
Line What 100 candles need Allowance Packs to buy Cost
Wax · Luxury Soy Wax Chunks 15,000 g 5% → 15,750 g 3 × 5 kg + 1 × 1 kg = 16 kg ₹9,584.00
Fragrance · Apple Cinnamon at 8% 1,200 g 5% → 1,260 g 1 × 1 kg + 3 × 100 gm = 1,300 g ₹6,166.68
Wick · Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) 100 4% → 104 2 × 50 + 1 × 10 = 110 wicks ₹649.00
Wick stickers · 40 to a sheet 100 4% → 104 3 sheets = 120 stickers ₹300.00
Vessel · Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid 100 4% → 104 11 × Pack of 10 = 110 jars ₹10,384.00
Care labels · Candle Care Stickers 100 none needed 1 × Pack of 500 ₹413.00

Priced above: Luxury Soy Wax Chunks 1 kg ₹599.00 and 5 kg ₹2,995.00 · Apple Cinnamon Fragrance Oil 100 gm ₹474.36 and 1 kg ₹4,743.60 · Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) 10 for ₹59.00 and 50 for ₹295.00 · Candle Wick Stickers 40 for ₹100.00 · Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid 10 for ₹944.00 · Candle Care Stickers Roll 500 for ₹413.00 · Candle Dye Liquid 50 gm ₹472.00.

Two numbers come out of that table and they are not the same number. The order is ₹27,968.68, which is ₹279.69 a candle. The consumption — what the hundred finished candles actually contain — is ₹25,511.92, or ₹255.12 a candle. Quote your customer from the second figure and reconcile your bank balance with the first. Mixing them up is the single most common arithmetic mistake in a first production run, and it always flatters the candle.

The jar is doing most of the work in that total. At ₹94.40 it is 37% of the consumed cost of the candle, more than the wax and fragrance together. That is not a reason to avoid it — a lidded apothecary jar is what lets a handmade candle sell as a gift — but it is a reason to decide the vessel before you decide anything else. Swap to the Clear Glass Votive Jar 70 gram at ₹31.86 and 110 vessels cost ₹6,879.40 less, though you are then making a 70 g candle, not a 150 g one, and a smaller candle changes the wax line too.

Buying to the candle count instead of to the pack. One hundred jars sounds like ten packs of ten. It is not, once you allow for the two that arrive chipped, the one that cracks when you pour at the wrong temperature and the one you keep for photography. Eleven packs is ₹10,384.00; ten packs is a run that finishes at 98 candles and a second delivery charge you did not plan for. Order the allowance in the first consignment, always.

From 150 g a candle to the number you actually order

Four arithmetic steps stand between the candle in your head and the pack sizes on the store.

Every quantity on the list above came out of the same four-step calculation. It is worth doing longhand once, because after that you can re-run it for any fill size, any load and any count in about two minutes.

1
Fix the fill weight, not the jar volume. A jar's capacity and a candle's fill are different things. The Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid page states a 150 g fill capacity, so 150 g is the number this sheet uses. Where a vessel page publishes a volume rather than a gram fill — the 200 ml Salsa jar, for instance — the gram figure is not published, and you should melt and pour one jar on a scale before you multiply by a hundred. Weigh the poured jar, subtract the empty jar, and use that number.
2
Apply the load to wax weight, not to the finished candle. CSI's wax pages state fragrance load as a percentage of total wax weight, so 8% of 150 g is 12 g of oil, and the candle weighs 162 g. The other convention — 8% of the finished candle — would give 12.96 g and a different oil bill across a hundred candles. Pick one, write it at the top of your sheet, and never mix them. The Luxury Soy Wax Chunks page allows up to 13% of total wax weight with 8% as a starting point; the Apple Cinnamon page states 6–10% for soy candles. Where a wax ceiling and an oil range differ, the lower one governs, so 10% is your ceiling on this pairing.
3
Add wastage to the poured materials. Wax and fragrance suffer losses that counted items do not: the film left in the pitcher, the second pour on a sunken top, and the two candles you burn as tests before the batch is signed off. This page assumes 5% on both, which takes 15,000 g of wax to 15,750 g and 1,200 g of oil to 1,260 g. That 5% is an assumption, not CSI data. If your pitcher is a 600 ml Steel Pouring Pitcher and you scrape it, your real figure will be lower; if you are pouring in a Delhi May with the wax setting fast on the walls, it will be higher.
4
Add spares to the counted items, then round up to packs. Wicks, stickers, jars and lids are counted, so they get a breakage and error allowance instead — 4% here, which is four extra of each. Then round up to real pack sizes. Four extra wicks means 110 rather than 104 because wicks come in tens; four extra jars means 110 rather than 104 because jars come in tens. The rounding is where an order stops being tidy, and it is also where ₹2,456.76 of next month's stock quietly appears.

Run those four steps on a different candle and the whole sheet moves. A 100 g fill drops the wax line to 11 kg bought — two 5 kg bags plus a 1 kg bag, ₹6,589.00, the smallest combination that covers the 10.5 kg requirement. A 200 g fill takes the wax line to 21 kg. The proportions matter more than the absolute numbers: on the 150 g candle costed here, wax is 35% of the consumed cost, fragrance 22%, the jar 37%, and everything else together 6%.

WRITE THE ALLOWANCE DOWN
Put the wastage and spares percentages in a visible cell at the top of your sheet rather than burying them inside the quantities. Next month, when your first run has told you that your real pitcher loss is 3% and your real jar breakage is one in fifty, you change two cells and the whole order recalculates. A sheet whose assumptions are invisible cannot be corrected by experience — it can only be rebuilt. And when you report your cost per candle to a wholesale buyer, being able to say which allowances are in it is worth more than the number itself.

Where a bigger pack saves money — and where it saves nothing

The instinct at a hundred candles is to buy the biggest pack of everything. On this order that instinct is wrong four times out of seven.

Not every product on a supply store rewards volume. Some lines have a genuinely falling rate as the pack grows, some are flat from the smallest sensible pack upwards, and one or two are marginally dearer at the top. You cannot know which is which without looking, so look before you build the order.

Pack-rate behaviour
What the per-unit rate actually does as the pack gets bigger, line by line
Line Small pack rate Mid pack rate Largest pack rate What to do at 100 candles
Luxury Soy Wax Chunks ₹598.00 /kg at 500 g ₹599.00 /kg at 1 kg ₹599.90 /kg at 10 kg Flat from 1 kg up; buy 5 kg bags for handling, not for price
Apple Cinnamon Fragrance Oil ₹6.21 /g at 15 gm ₹4.74 /g at 100 gm ₹4.74 /g at 1 kg Flat from 50 gm up; buy the combination closest to your requirement
Citrus Lemon Fragrance Oil ₹5.43 /g at 15 gm ₹3.00 /g at 100 gm ₹2.83 /g at 1 kg Genuinely falls; the 1 kg pack is worth reaching for
Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) ₹5.90 each at 10 ₹5.90 each at 100 ₹5.90 each at 1000 Identical at every pack size; buy the least excess
Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid ₹94.40 each at 10 — ₹94.40 each at 20 Identical; pack of ten is the flexible unit
Candle Care Stickers ₹0.83 each at 500 — ₹0.70 each at 1000 Falls; but 500 already covers five runs of this size
Candle Wick Stickers ₹2.50 each at 40 — — One sheet size in stock; buy sheets to cover 104
Priced above: Luxury Soy Wax Chunks 500 g ₹299.00, 1 kg ₹599.00, 10 kg ₹5,999.00 · Apple Cinnamon Fragrance Oil 15 gm ₹93.22, 100 gm ₹474.36, 1 kg ₹4,743.60 · Citrus Lemon Fragrance Oil 15 gm ₹81.42, 100 gm ₹300.00, 1 kg ₹2,832.00 · Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) 10 for ₹59.00, 100 for ₹590.00, 1000 for ₹5,900.00 · Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid 10 for ₹944.00 and 20 for ₹1,888.00 · Candle Care Stickers Roll 500 for ₹413.00 and 1000 for ₹699.00 · Candle Wick Stickers 40 for ₹100.00.

Read the wax row carefully, because it is the one people get wrong. The 1 kg and 5 kg packs of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks both work out to ₹599.00 a kilogram, and the 10 kg pack works out to ₹599.90. Over the 16 kg this run needs, taking a 10 kg bag plus a 5 kg plus a 1 kg costs ₹9,593.00 against ₹9,584.00 for three 5 kg bags plus a 1 kg — a difference of ₹9.00. That is small enough that handling should decide it: one 10 kg bag is easier to store and harder to lift onto a kitchen counter, three 5 kg bags are easier to work with and easier to keep sealed. What matters is that you checked rather than assumed.

The fragrance row is where the real money sits. Apple Cinnamon runs at ₹4.74 a gram from the 50 gm pack all the way to 1 kg, so there is nothing to gain by over-buying. Compare that with Citrus Lemon, where the rate falls from ₹5.43 a gram at 15 gm to ₹2.83 at 1 kg — a line where reaching for the bigger pack genuinely pays. The general rule is not "buy big", it is "check the per-gram rate on the product page and buy the combination that covers your requirement with the least excess, unless the rate is falling."

Buying a 500 gm bottle to "save" on a 1,260 g requirement. One 1 kg plus one 500 gm bottle is 1,500 g for ₹7,115.40. One 1 kg plus three 100 gm bottles is 1,300 g for ₹6,166.68. Both cover the run; the second leaves ₹6,166.68 of your money in the order and 240 g fewer grams of oil ageing in a cupboard. If the scent is one you will pour again next month, the bigger buy is fine. If it is a festive one-off, you have just bought ₹1,138.46 of oil you may not use before it ages.

Check the depth before you build the order round a pack

A price you cannot buy eleven of is not a price. It is a screenshot.

At a hundred candles you are usually inside CSI's listed depth on every line, but not always by much, and the pack you plan the order around should be one with room behind it. Two examples from this very list. The Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) 100-wick pack and the 50-wick pack carry the same ₹5.90 rate, but the listed depth behind them is different; building the order on two 50s plus a 10 gets you the same 110 wicks at the same ₹649.00 with more room behind it. The Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid is listed in packs of ten and packs of twenty at the identical ₹94.40, and the pack of ten is listed far more deeply — so eleven packs of ten is the order that goes through cleanly.

The same logic applies to the fragrance. Apple Cinnamon is listed in 15 gm, 50 gm, 100 gm, 500 gm and 1 kg, and the listed depth is not even across those variants. Since the per-gram rate is flat from 50 gm upward, there is no penalty in composing 1,300 g from a 1 kg and three 100 gm bottles rather than from a 1 kg and a 500 gm — and the deeper variants make the order more likely to ship complete. Where a variant you want is thin, the right move is not to abandon the scent but to send the list on WhatsApp and ask.

Depth check
The question to ask of each line before you add it to the cart
Line This run needs Question to ask If the answer is no
Wax 16 kg Are there enough bags of one size listed to cover it Mix two pack sizes at the same per-kg rate
Fragrance 1,300 g Is the variant I want listed deep enough for the whole requirement Compose from smaller packs at the same per-gram rate
Wicks 110 Is the pack I planned on listed in quantity Two 50s plus a 10 gives the same count and the same cost
Jars 110 (11 packs) Is the pack of ten listed deeper than eleven Ask on WhatsApp before you commit the design to that jar
Wick stickers 3 sheets Is the sheet size I want in stock at all The Large Candle Wick Stickers sheet is the alternative
Care labels 1 roll Roll of 500 or roll of 1000 The 1000 roll is ₹0.70 each against ₹0.83, and covers ten runs
ONE CONSIGNMENT, NOT THREE
Decide the whole list before you order any of it. Three separate orders across a fortnight means three sets of whatever your courier charges, and courier is a cost CSI neither sells nor publishes — it is entirely yours. It also risks a variant selling through between your first order and your third. Build the sheet, check the depth on every line, then place one consignment. If something on the list is thin, ask on WhatsApp first rather than discovering it at checkout.
Pouring for the festive season? Diwali 2026 falls on 8 November 2026, and soy container candles want 14–21 days of cure before they are judged — the Luxury Soy Wax Chunks page itself asks for a minimum of 48 hours and ideally one to two weeks. Work backwards and a hundred festive candles want to be poured by about mid-October, which means this order needs to be placed in the first week of October at the latest.
Shop fragrance oils

Ordered, consumed, left over: three different numbers

The shelf at the end of the run is part of the order. Count it, or you will think your candles cost more than they do.

This is the part of a hundred-candle order that nobody writes down, and it is the part that decides whether your second run looks cheaper than your first. You spent ₹27,968.68. Your hundred candles contain ₹25,511.92. The remaining ₹2,456.76 did not evaporate — it is sitting on a shelf in a form you can pour next month.

Ordered, consumed, left
Every line of the 100-candle order split three ways
Line Ordered Cost Consumed by 100 candles Left on the shelf Consumed cost per candle
Wax 16 kg ₹9,584.00 15,000 g 1,000 g ≈ ₹599.00 ₹89.85
Fragrance 1,300 g ₹6,166.68 1,200 g 100 g ≈ ₹474.36 ₹56.92
Wicks 110 ₹649.00 100 10 ₹5.90
Wick stickers 120 ₹300.00 100 20 ₹2.50
Jars 110 ₹10,384.00 100 10 ≈ ₹944.00 ₹94.40
Care labels 500 ₹413.00 100 400 ≈ ₹330.40 ₹0.83
Dye 1 bottle ₹472.00 1 bottle (assumed) — ₹4.72
Total 7 packs ₹27,968.68 ₹25,511.92 ₹2,456.76 ₹255.12
Priced above: the same seven packs — Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, Apple Cinnamon Fragrance Oil, Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1), Candle Wick Stickers, Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid, Candle Care Stickers Roll and Candle Dye Liquid. Leftover values are the same per-kilogram, per-gram and per-unit rates applied to the quantity left.

Three practical consequences follow. First, price the candle at ₹255.12 plus your own rows, not at ₹279.69 — otherwise you are asking your first hundred customers to pay for stock they will never receive. Second, when you run the same hundred candles again, the order is smaller: the wax, the jars, the wicks and the stickers all start from a part-used shelf, and the care sticker roll will not need replacing for four more runs. Third, if you are never going to pour that scent again, the leftover is not stock at all — it is a sunk cost, and it belongs in the price of these hundred candles. Be honest with yourself about which of those three you are looking at.

There is one line on that table that deserves a second look: the dye. It is the only figure on this page that cannot be derived from a published number, because no dosage per candle is printed. This sheet assumes one 50 gm bottle colours a hundred candles, which puts ₹4.72 a candle in the stack. That is an assumption, and the way to replace it with a fact is to note the bottle level before and after your first hundred. Drop the dye entirely and the consumed cost falls to ₹250.40 a candle, which is a perfectly good reason to launch a first collection in uncoloured wax.

The CSI principle
Order in packs, cost in grams, price in candles.
The same hundred candles are ₹27,968.68 to your bank, ₹25,511.92 to your product costing and ₹255.12 to your price list. All three are correct; only one of them belongs in each conversation.

The four rows CSI cannot fill for you

Everything that touches the candle is on the list above. Everything that touches the customer is not.

A hundred candles do not go out of your door as a hundred candles. They go out as a hundred labelled, boxed, padded, couriered units, made by somebody whose time has a value. CSI sells wax, fragrance, wicks, vessels, dyes, finishing items and tools. It does not sell printed labels, mailers, cartons, bubble wrap, ribbon, tissue or courier services, and it publishes no rates for freight, labour, electricity or marketing. Putting a plausible number in those rows would make this page look more complete and make your pricing worse, so the rows stay blank.

Your own cost rows
The 100-candle sheet CSI cannot price — fill these from your own invoices
Row Quantity at 100 candles Where the number comes from Cost
Printed labels (front and base) 100–210 labels Your local printer, per-piece at your order size your figure
Outer box, mailer or gift sleeve 100 Your packaging supplier your figure
Protective packing and filler 100 shipments Your packaging supplier your figure
Ribbon, tissue, thank-you card 100 if used Your stationery supplier your figure
Inbound courier on this order 1 consignment Your invoice at checkout your figure
Outbound courier or delivery 100 shipments or 1 bulk drop Your courier or aggregator your figure
Your hours 1–2 pour days plus finishing Your own rate for your time your figure
Electricity, gas, rent share 1–2 pour days Your own bills your figure
Marketplace or gateway fees on whatever sells online Your platform's statement your figure
Your own costs, total — — your figure
CSI materials 7 packs This page ₹27,968.68
True cost of the hundred — — ₹27,968.68 + your own costs

Two of those rows are worth a warning at this exact volume. The first is labels: a hundred is an awkward print quantity, often priced close to five hundred, which is why many small Indian brands print five hundred and hold four hundred. If you do that, the cost of this run's labels is not one-fifth of the invoice — it is the whole invoice unless you are certain the other four hundred will be used. The second is outbound courier, which at a hundred units is usually the largest single line on the whole sheet if you are shipping direct to customers, and close to trivial if you are handing the run to one corporate buyer. The same hundred candles can have wildly different true costs depending on who receives them.

None of this is a reason to despair of costing. It is a reason to keep the two halves separate. CSI materials are knowable to the paisa and will not surprise you. Your own rows vary by city, by courier, by print run and by how you value your Sunday. Keep them in their own block, total them separately, and add the two totals at the bottom.

A supplier who fills in the rows he does not sell is guessing with your money.

Nine checks before you press pay

Ten minutes of checking beats a second delivery charge, every time.

One: is the fill weight confirmed on a scale? The jar page says 150 g and this sheet trusts it, but a single poured-and-weighed jar turns a published capacity into your own measured number. Two: is the load applied to wax weight? 8% of 150 g is 12 g of oil. If your sheet says 12.96 g you have used the other convention and the fragrance line is 8% too big. Three: is the load inside both ceilings? The Chunks page allows up to 13% of total wax weight; the Apple Cinnamon page states 6–10% for soy candles. The lower figure governs, so anything up to 10% is inside both, and 8% leaves room to push the scent up after your test burns.

Four: are the allowances written down? 5% wastage and 4% spares are assumptions on this page, and they should be visible cells in your sheet, not hidden inside a total. Five: is every pack on the list actually a variant? Wishing for a 2 kg bag of wax does not create one. Six: is the depth behind each pack comfortable? Eleven packs of jars needs eleven packs listed, not eleven jars. Seven: is it one consignment? Splitting the order splits your courier cost, which is a row CSI cannot help you with.

Eight: have you allowed cure time? Soy container candles are commonly given 14–21 days before they are judged for throw, and the Luxury Soy Wax Chunks page asks for a minimum of 48 hours and ideally one to two weeks. A hundred candles poured on the day of a market are a hundred candles that will not smell like themselves. Nine: does the sheet end in two totals? ₹27,968.68 of CSI materials, and your own rows underneath. If your sheet ends in one number, something in it is invented.

Once those nine hold, the order is boring — which is the goal. You will know before you click that the run will produce a hundred sellable candles plus a handful of spares, that it will consume ₹255.12 of materials per candle, that roughly ₹2,456.76 of what you are buying will still be yours afterwards, and that the only numbers you still owe yourself are the four you have to get from your printer, your packaging supplier, your courier and your own diary.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles, and this list is deliberately shorter than the one you will actually spend money on. Printed labels, mailers, cartons, bubble wrap, ribbon, courier and your own labour are real costs of a hundred-candle run and CSI sells none of them, so they appear here as blank rows rather than as numbers. Inside our own half of the sheet the honesty continues: on several lines a bigger pack saves you nothing at all, and we say so rather than steering you to the larger variant.

Every price is from live CSI stock in September 2026 and the linked product pages are authoritative. Per-kilogram, per-gram and per-unit rates are calculated from the pack variants named beside each figure. Product-page specifications are quoted as such: Luxury Soy Wax Chunks states a fragrance load of up to 13% of total wax weight with 8% as a starting point, the Apple Cinnamon page states 6–10% for soy candles, and where the two differ the lower figure governs. The 5% wastage and 4% breakage and spares allowances used throughout are assumptions stated at the point of use, not measured data. Stock depth quoted is the depth listed at the time of writing and changes as orders are placed.

Frequently asked questions

How much wax do I need for 100 candles?
It depends entirely on the fill. At 150 g a candle, 100 candles hold 15 kg and you buy 16 kg after a 5% wastage allowance. At 100 g a candle it is 10 kg held and 11 kg bought; at 200 g it is 20 kg held and 21 kg bought. In Luxury Soy Wax Chunks the 1 kg and 5 kg packs carry the same ₹599.00 per kilogram, so the 16 kg version costs ₹9,584.00 however you compose it from those two sizes.
How much fragrance oil does a 100-candle run need?
At 8% of wax weight on a 150 g fill, each candle takes 12 g, so 100 candles hold 1,200 g and you buy 1,300 g. In Apple Cinnamon that is one 1 kg bottle plus three 100 gm bottles, ₹6,166.68. At 6% the requirement drops to 900 g held and ₹42.69 of oil in each candle; at 10%, the ceiling this pairing allows, it rises to 1,500 g held and ₹71.15 a candle.
Can I make 100 candles cheaper without changing the recipe?
Yes, mostly through the vessel. The lidded Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid at ₹94.40 is the biggest single line in the candle. The 200ml Salsa Glass Jar is ₹29.50 each in packs of fifty and the 135 gram tin is ₹96.76 each in packs of twelve. Changing the wax saves less: 16 kg of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at ₹507.40 a kilogram comes to ₹8,118.40, which is ₹1,465.60 less than the Chunks, and 16 kg of Eco Soy CSI 400 at ₹399.00 is ₹6,387.00.
Do I need 100 wicks or more than 100?
More. This sheet allows 4% for wicks set off-centre, wicks pulled out during a re-pour and test candles, so 104 — and since Eco Candle Wicks come in tens, you buy 110 for ₹649.00. The Thin (C1) rate is ₹5.90 at every pack size from 10 to 1000, so there is no saving in over-buying. Wick size by jar diameter is not published per wick, so confirm the size with a test burn — the wick guide by diameter explains the method.
Should I buy a wax melter for a 100-candle run?
Not necessarily. A hundred 150 g candles is 15 kg of wax, which is perfectly possible over a double boiler across a couple of days, and the Mini Electric Wax Melter at ₹2,360.00 is equipment, not a material cost — it does not belong in the per-candle figure. Buy it when the time you lose managing temperature costs more than the melter, which for most makers happens somewhere between the first and the third run of this size, not before it.
Why does this page not give a total including packaging and delivery?
Because CSI does not sell outer packaging, printed labels or courier services and publishes no rates for them, and a number invented for those rows would quietly become the number you price against. The page totals ₹27,968.68 of CSI materials and leaves the rest as blank rows you fill from your own invoices. Your true cost for the hundred is that figure plus your own total.
