1 Kg vs 10 Kg Soy Wax — Which Is Cheaper for Candle Making?
शेयर करना
Is 10 kg cheaper than 1 kg? Only for Pearl and CSI 468 on CSI's listed prices.
How do I calculate it? Wax grams (92% of fill) × price per gram.
Does bulk save money? Little on listed packs; ask for a quote above them.
On CSI's range, 10 kg is cheaper per kilogram for two waxes, the same for two, and a few rupees dearer for one. The table shows which.
10 kg vs ten 1 kg bags
| Wax | 1 kg | 10 kg bag | 10 × 1 kg | 10 kg bag is… |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (flakes) | ₹507.40 | ₹5,074.00 | ₹5,074.00 | same |
| Natural Soy Pearl Wax | ₹450.00 | ₹4,248.00 | ₹4,500.00 | ₹252 cheaper |
| Eco Soy CSI 400 | ₹399.00 | No 10 kg pack | ₹3,990.00 | Largest pack 5 kg |
| Luxury Soy Wax Chunks | ₹599.00 | ₹5,999.00 | ₹5,990.00 | ₹9 dearer |
| Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 (flakes) | ₹650.00 | ₹6,370.00 | ₹6,500.00 | ₹130 cheaper |
| Soy Pillar Wax | ₹600.00 | ₹6,000.00 | ₹6,000.00 | same |
On Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, the 500 g bag is the cheapest per kilogram (₹598.00) and the 10 kg bag the dearest (₹599.90) — 10 kg costs ₹9 more than ten 1 kg bags. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (flakes) and Soy Pillar Wax cost the same per kilogram at every size. Eco Soy CSI 400's 5 kg bag is ₹1 dearer than five 1 kg bags. The real breaks: Natural Soy Pearl Wax falls from ₹450.00 to ₹424.80 per kg from 5 kg (5.6%), and Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 (flakes) from ₹650.00 to ₹637.00 (2.0%).
The real comparison is 1 kg against 5 kg, not 10 kg
Look closely at where the price breaks sit. On Natural Soy Pearl Wax the per-kilogram price falls from ₹450.00 to ₹424.80 at the 5 kg bag, and stays at ₹424.80 for 10 and 50 kg. On CSI 468 it falls from ₹650.00 to ₹637.00 at 5 kg, and 10 kg is no cheaper. On every other soy wax on the list, 10 kg does not beat 5 kg either. So the 10 kg bag never unlocks a price you could not reach at 5 kg.
That changes the question. Moving from 1 kg to 5 kg is the step that can save money, and only on two waxes. Moving from 5 kg to 10 kg is a question of convenience.
When 10 kg is still the right bag
A 10 kg bag means fewer orders, fewer parcels and one lot of wax for a run of candles. If you pour a bag's worth within a month or so, those are good reasons. Delivery charges also count in your favour when you order less often; one buyer's review of Premium Coconut Soy Wax says plainly, "the delivery charges are very high which is restricting me". Fewer, larger orders are one way to soften that.
When 1 kg bags are the better buy
Several 1 kg bags keep most of your wax sealed until you need it, let you change wax without leftovers, and are easier to store in a small room. On CSI 464 and Soy Pillar Wax you pay nothing extra for that flexibility. On Eco Soy CSI 400 the 5 kg bag, at ₹1,996.00, is actually a rupee dearer than five 1 kg bags.
A simple rule
For Pearl and CSI 468, buy 5 kg once you know the wax works for you, because that is where the saving begins. For the rest, buy the bag size that matches how fast you pour and how much room you have. Pearl publishes no fragrance load, so test it in your own jars before any 5 kg purchase.
