Best Candle Wax Supplier in India

What is the cheapest wax per kg? Semi Refined Paraffin at ₹220.00/kg. The cheapest soy is Eco Soy CSI 400 at ₹399.00/kg. The dearest is Soy Butter Wax at ₹1,097.40/kg.
Is the cheapest wax per kg the cheapest candle? No. Wax is roughly 40% of the material cost of a 200 g soy jar candle. Fragrance ceiling, rework rate and finish move the per-candle number more than the per-kilo number does.
Do I need additives? Usually not. Vybar at ₹156.00 per 50 g is a paraffin additive. Single-pour soy waxes like CSI 400 and CSI 464 are already formulated — adding Vybar to them is solving a problem you do not have.
Every wax in the range, with the limitations stated
There were fifteen waxes plus one additive on the CSI wax list at the September 2026 pricing pull, and fourteen of the fifteen were in stock — the exception was Soy Wax 464 Pellets, which is therefore not offered as buyable anywhere on this page. The Candle Wax collection lists fifteen products. The per-kilo figure below is the best published rate for that wax, which is not always the largest pack. Read the last column first.
| Wax | What it is for | Burn & finish character | ₹/kg at best size | Notable limitation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Luxury Soy CSI 464 (flakes) | The default container wax. Jars, tins, votive glasses, tealights in cups | Single pour, low frosting, strong glass adhesion; melt and pour at 80–90°C | ₹507.40 | Stated fragrance ceiling is up to 10% — lower headroom than the Chunks. Will not hold a free-standing shape |
| Luxury Soy Wax Chunks | Container candles where you want maximum fragrance headroom | Creamy top, takes dye and oil well, forgiving on pour temperature | ₹599.00 | Chunks must be melted from solid, so batch prep is slower than flakes. Costs ₹91.60/kg more than CSI 464 |
| Eco Soy CSI 400 | The entry soy. Beginners, small batches, tealights, sampling | One pour, no additives needed; fragrance in at 80–90°C with two minutes of stirring | ₹399.00 | Only two sizes — 1 kg and 5 kg. No 500 g test size and no 10 kg pack, so it does not scale with you |
| Natural Soy Pearl Wax | Volume soy for production runs — the only wax on the list that goes to 50 kg | Free-flowing pearls, fast to weigh and melt, even dispersion in a melter | ₹424.80 | No 500 g size, so the smallest test is a 1 kg commitment at ₹450.00 |
| Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 | The premium container tier. Gourmands, orientals, gifting ranges | Softer, fuller release and a smoother, more even top than straight soy | ₹637.00 | Softer wax means less tolerance of heat in transit and storage. Costs ₹129.60/kg more than CSI 464 |
| Premium Coconut Soy Wax | A higher-coconut blend for small premium batches | Rich, creamy set; the luxury look at the top of a container range | ₹920.00 | Sold only in 500 g and 1 kg. There is no bulk size, so it cannot carry a production line |
| Coconut Wax | The soft, low-melt end: massage candles, whipped tops, premium blends | Very soft set, excellent scent carry, glossy surface | ₹1,026.60 | Too soft to stand alone in most jar candles without blending. 1 kg maximum pack |
| Soy Butter Wax | Dessert and whipped candles, body and massage candles, decorative piping | Butter-soft, holds a piped peak, spoonable rather than pourable | ₹1,097.40 | The dearest wax in the range and it will not pour a conventional jar candle. 1 kg maximum pack |
| Beeswax Pellets (Yellow) | Tapers, dinner candles, rolled and moulded candles, blending stock | Hard, long burn, natural honey note and a warm yellow colour of its own | ₹800.00 | Its own colour and scent fight your dye and your fragrance. Yellow is the listed variant |
| Soy Pillar Wax | Pillars, moulded and designer candles, bubble and sculptural shapes | Hard set, clean release from silicone and polycarbonate, holds detail | ₹600.00 | Formulated to shrink away from a mould, which is exactly why it should not go in a jar |
| Fully Refined Paraffin Pellets | Finish-critical paraffin work: pillars, moulds, wax melts, blends | Low residual oil, opaque white, vivid dye take, smooth glassy finish | ₹354.00 | 1 kg maximum published pack, and "paraffin" is a harder sell on an Indian D2C product page |
| Semi Refined Paraffin | The cost floor. High-volume, price-led candles and diyas | Higher residual oil than fully refined; workable but less neutral | ₹220.00 | One size only — 1 kg. The cheapest wax on the list is also the one with the least size continuity |
| Gel Wax Clear | Transparent display candles, embeds, aquarium and terrarium-style pieces | Glass-clear, holds suspended objects, slow burn from a wide surface | ₹590.00 | Takes markedly less fragrance than wax and is bought for the look, not the throw. 1 kg slab only |
| Microcrystalline Slab | A blend modifier — adhesion, flexibility and opacity in paraffin systems | Sticky, pliable, high melt; changes how a blend behaves rather than being the blend | ₹299.00 | Not a standalone candle wax. Second cheapest per kilo and the most commonly mis-bought item on the list |
| Vybar Additive | An additive, not a wax — fragrance hold and hardness in paraffin | Used in fractions of a percent; changes the wax rather than replacing it | ₹3,120.00 | Genuinely unnecessary in single-pour soy waxes. See the additives section below |
Cost per kilogram, ranked — and why it is the wrong number
The "best size" column is the pack that gives the lowest per-kilo rate — and in two cases that is not the biggest bag. CSI live pricing, September 2026; the linked product page is authoritative.

Cheapest per kilo is not cheapest per candle
Take a 200 g jar candle: 180 g of wax and 16 g of oil, in a ₹70.80 White Matte Glass Jar, on a ₹5.90 Eco Candle Wick, scented at 8% with Sandalwood Fragrance Oil at 1 kg pricing (₹5,026.80, or ₹5.03/g) — ₹80.43 of oil.
On Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at ₹599.00/kg, 180 g of wax is ₹107.82 and the material cost of the candle is ₹264.95. On Semi Refined Paraffin at ₹220.00/kg, the same 180 g is ₹39.60 and the candle is ₹196.73. The paraffin candle is ₹68.22 cheaper. That is a real saving and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
But look at what the wax is inside those numbers: 40.7% of the soy candle and 20.1% of the paraffin one. A change of ±₹100/kg on your wax moves the candle by ₹18; a change in how much fragrance you need to hit target throw moves it by more. If a fuller-releasing wax lets you drop from a 10% load to 8% on that Sandalwood, you save 4 g of oil — ₹20.11 a candle — nearly three times the ₹6.84 that Coconut Soy CSI 468 at ₹637.00/kg costs over the Chunks on 180 g. That is conditional on your own burn tests, not a promise — but it is the arithmetic that decides the answer, and it is not the per-kilo table.
Which wax for which product
This is the decision most makers get wrong, and it is not a quality question. A container wax is formulated to stick to glass; a pillar wax is formulated to shrink away from a mould. Put the first in a mould and it will not release; put the second in a jar and it pulls away from the wall and looks like a fault. Both are working exactly as designed.
| Product | First choice | Alternative | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jar / container candle | Luxury Soy CSI 464 — ₹507.40/kg | Eco Soy CSI 400 — ₹399.00/kg | Single pour, low frosting, adhesion to glass. CSI 400 is the cheaper entry if you are still testing |
| Jar candle, premium tier | Coconut Soy CSI 468 — ₹637.00/kg | Premium Coconut Soy Wax — ₹920.00/kg | Fuller release and a smoother top. ₹6.84 more per 200 g candle than the Chunks |
| Jar candle, maximum fragrance headroom | Luxury Soy Wax Chunks — ₹599.00/kg | — | The one grade with a published ceiling of up to 13%, against up to 10% on CSI 464 |
| Pillar candle | Soy Pillar Wax — ₹600.00/kg | Fully Refined Paraffin — ₹354.00/kg | Both are formulated to release from a mould. Paraffin is harder and cheaper; soy sells better |
| Moulded / designer / sculptural | Soy Pillar Wax — ₹600.00/kg | Fully Refined Paraffin — ₹354.00/kg | Detail retention and clean release from silicone. See the Candle Moulds collection |
| Tealight | Eco Soy CSI 400 — ₹399.00/kg | Natural Soy Pearl Wax — ₹424.80/kg | Small pours, high unit count. Pearls are faster to weigh and melt at volume |
| Votive | Soy Pillar Wax — ₹600.00/kg | Luxury Soy CSI 464 — ₹507.40/kg | Depends entirely on whether it is sold in the glass or turned out of it |
| Gel / display / embed candle | Gel Wax Clear — ₹590.00/kg | — | Nothing else in the range is transparent. Bought for the look; expect less throw |
| Dessert / whipped candle | Soy Butter Wax — ₹1,097.40/kg | Luxury Soy Wax Chunks — ₹599.00/kg | Soy Butter holds a piped peak. Whipping the Chunks is the cheaper route to a similar look |
| Massage / skin-contact candle | Soy Butter Wax — ₹1,097.40/kg | Coconut Wax — ₹1,026.60/kg | The soft, low-melt end of the range. Request documentation before any skin-contact product |
| Taper / dinner candle | Beeswax Pellets — ₹800.00/kg | Fully Refined Paraffin — ₹354.00/kg | Beeswax is hard enough to stand unsupported and burns long. It brings its own colour and scent |
| Wax melts / sachets | Natural Soy Pearl Wax — ₹424.80/kg | Fully Refined Paraffin — ₹354.00/kg | No wick, no melt pool — snap and scent release are what matter |
| Blending / adhesion fixes | Microcrystalline Slab — ₹299.00/kg | — | A modifier for a paraffin system. Never the whole candle |
One piece of the decision belongs to the wick, not the wax: every wax swap changes the melt pool, so a wick that was correct in CSI 464 will not automatically be correct in CSI 468 or Soy Pillar Wax. Sizing is a subject of its own — the method by jar diameter is in the complete wick guide by diameter, and the range is in the Candle Wicks collection. Assembling a first order across wax, wick, jar, fragrance and dye at once? Work from the complete candle making raw material list.
Paraffin vs soy, handled straight
This argument is usually conducted as a morality play. It is not one. Paraffin and soy are two materials with different properties, costs and market positions, and CSI stocks both because both are legitimate for different products. Four trade-offs decide it.
Two things CSI does not publish, stated plainly: there is no published fragrance ceiling for the paraffin, gel, beeswax or coconut grades, only for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks (up to 13%) and CSI 464 (up to 10%); and the paraffin grades are listed at 500 g and 1 kg only, with no bulk pack. If your plan needs either, ask on WhatsApp before costing around an assumption. A supplier who answers that with a number is worth more than one who answers it with reassurance.
Additives: what they do, and when you are being sold a problem you do not have
Additives are where new makers lose money fastest: every candle fault has an additive that promises to fix it, and most faults are process faults. Here is the honest position on the three items in the range that get sold this way.
| Size | Price | Per kg equivalent | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50 g | ₹156.00 | ₹3,120.00 | The right size to test with |
| 100 g | ₹312.00 | ₹3,120.00 | No per-gram saving — buy 50 g first |
It is not on the CSI wax price list. The only additive published alongside the fifteen waxes is Vybar, and we will not quote a price for something we have not listed — that is the sort of number that ends up in a costing sheet and then in a customer's invoice. If you need it for a pillar or taper programme, ask on WhatsApp what is available before building the formulation around it. In soy you almost certainly do not need it: Soy Pillar Wax at ₹600.00/kg is already formulated to set hard and release from a mould, which is the whole job stearic acid is hired to do.
| Size | Price | Per kg | Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| 500 g | ₹149.00 | ₹298.00 | Blend trials — the cheapest 500 g on the whole wax list |
| 1 kg | ₹299.00 | ₹299.00 | Production blending |
What separates a wax supplier worth staying with
Anyone can sell you a kilogram of wax once. The cost of a bad wax supplier is not the wax — it is re-testing every wick and every scent when the grade changes underneath you. A business that redoes its burn tests twice a year has a research department it never budgeted for. Six things to check before you commit a product line.
| What to check | Why it matters | Where CSI stands |
|---|---|---|
| Named grades | "Soy wax" is not a specification. If the grade is unnamed you cannot prove the next bag is the same material, and you cannot describe it to a customer | CSI 400, CSI 464, CSI 468 and Soy Pillar are named and separately listed, so a reorder is a reorder |
| Published fragrance ceiling | It sets your recipe and your oil cost. Without it you are guessing at your single largest ingredient cost | Published for two grades — up to 13% on Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, up to 10% on CSI 464. Not published grade by grade across the range; ask before scaling |
| Small test size | You should be able to fail cheaply. A supplier whose smallest pack is 25 kg is transferring their inventory risk to you | Nine of the fourteen in-stock waxes ship in 500 g, from ₹149.00. The cheapest 500 g pourable candle wax is Fully Refined Paraffin at ₹177.00 |
| Stock continuity across the range | A gap in the range mid-season means an emergency substitution and a re-test in your busiest month | Fourteen of fifteen waxes in stock at the September 2026 pull. Soy Wax 464 Pellets was the one out of stock |
| Documentation | Retail buyers, marketplaces, exporters and corporate gifting clients all ask for it eventually, usually at short notice | MSDS and IFRA documentation on request; GST invoicing as standard |
| A size ladder that grows with you | Outgrowing your supplier's largest pack forces a vendor change at exactly the moment you can least afford one | Honest limitation: only Natural Soy Pearl Wax is published to 50 kg (₹21,240.00). Most grades stop at 10 kg, some at 1 kg — confirm on WhatsApp before planning volume |
Every wax decision on this page has a knock-on: a new wax means a new wick test, possibly a different fragrance load, and sometimes a different jar because adhesion behaves differently. Sourcing it all from one place means the variables you are testing are the ones you intended to change. The broader case is in can I buy all my candle making materials from one supplier; if you are still choosing where to start, best place to source candle making supplies for a business covers it from the other direction.
CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. On a page about which wax to buy, the convenient advice would be to steer everyone to the dearest grade. We have not: this page says that Semi Refined Paraffin at ₹220.00/kg genuinely does make a cheaper candle, that the 10 kg bag of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks costs ₹9.00 more than ten 1 kg packs, that most makers should not buy Vybar at all, and that Microcrystalline at ₹299.00/kg is the item most often bought by mistake.
Every price, size and stated ceiling here is taken from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing and specification take precedence. The 13% and 10% figures are the wax manufacturer's stated maximum loads for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 — formulation limits, not regulatory limits, and not interchangeable between grades. Where a figure is not published, this page says so rather than estimating one, which is why no price is quoted for stearic acid anywhere above.

Stearic acid is not listed on the CSI wax range and no price is quoted for it anywhere on this page. Other figures used in the costings: White Matte Glass Jar ₹354.00 per pack of 5 (₹70.80 each); Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) ₹590.00 per 100 (₹5.90 each); Sandalwood Fragrance Oil ₹5,026.80 per kg (₹5.0268/g, 16 g = ₹80.43). Per-candle costings assume a 200 g finished candle at an 8% fragrance load — 180 g wax, 16 g oil — and are material costs only, excluding labour, freight, packaging and GST. The 10% rework illustration is an arithmetic example, not a measured rate. Fragrance load ceilings of up to 13% (Luxury Soy Wax Chunks) and up to 10% (Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464) are the wax manufacturers' stated formulation maximums, not regulatory limits, and are not published across every grade. The Candle Wax collection lists 15 products; the Fragrance Oils collection lists 92. Diwali 2026 falls on 8 November.
