Eight checks for any bulk glass jar supplier
When you buy five jars, a bad jar is an annoyance. When you buy five hundred, a jar that cracks at your pour temperature, holds less wax than planned or arrives without the lid your packaging assumes becomes a production problem. Glass is often the largest single material line in a jar candle. A 150 g candle at 8% in the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid uses 138 g of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks (₹82.79 at the 10 kg price), 12 g of Lavender Fragrance Oil (₹62.65 at 1 kg), a ₹5.90 Eco Wick and a ₹94.40 jar — ₹245.74 in materials, 38.4% of it the jar. The supplier behind it deserves the scrutiny you give your wax.
The checklist works on any supplier — a specialist candle-supply store, a glass trader, a packaging wholesaler or an importer. The last column shows how CSI's in-stock glass listings answer each check, counted listing by listing in September 2026. A "not stated" is not an accusation; it is a question to put in writing before you commit.
| # | Check | Why it matters in bulk | What to ask | CSI glass listings today |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Hot-pour limit stated in °C | Your pour temperature has to sit under it on every batch, not just the first | "What is the hot-pour limit, and does it apply to every colour?" | 6 state 85°C · 21 say "heat resistant" or "withstand high heat" with no figure · 18 say nothing |
| 2 | Capacity in grams of wax | ml is volume; wax is lighter than water, so ml overstates the grams you can pour | "Is capacity grams of wax, or ml to the brim?" | 20 state grams · 22 state ml · 3 state no capacity |
| 3 | Dimensions, ideally rim and base | Wick choice follows diameter; box and label sizes follow height | "Outer rim, base diameter and height with and without lid?" | 30 state dimensions · 15 do not |
| 4 | Lid included, and how it fits | A lid bought separately is a second SKU and a second mismatch risk | "Is the lid in the price? What type?" | 24 mention a lid · 21 (including all 14 matte, frosted and glossy jars) do not |
| 5 | A pack ladder that reaches your volume | The per-jar price you plan on must be the one at the pack you will actually buy | "What is the largest listed pack, and is the per-jar price lower there?" | Only Salsa jars (50, 100) and Mini Glass Jars (25, 50, 100) are listed above 20 |
| 6 | Batch consistency | A shade or rim that shifts between deliveries breaks a gift set | "Can repeats match my first batch?" | Not stated on pages — ask on WhatsApp; keep a retained jar |
| 7 | Transit packing and a breakage path | Glass travels badly; what happens after a break matters | "How are jars packed, and how do I report a transit break?" | Not stated on pages — ask before a volume order |
| 8 | GST invoicing and a named listing | Input credit, and a reorder that references the exact same jar | "GST invoice? Can I reorder by listing name?" | GST invoicing handled on WhatsApp · reorder by exact listing title |
Hot-pour limit versus your pour temperature
A hot-pour limit is the highest wax temperature the seller says the glass is made to receive. It says nothing about the candle as it burns and does not replace a test, but it turns "will this crack?" into "is my thermometer under 85°C when I tip the pitcher?"
Six in-stock CSI listings carry it: the Apothecary Dome Lid jar and the clear, black, orange, pink and red 150 g golden-lid jars. Here is how CSI's container waxes sit against it.
| Wax | What the product page states | Position against 85°C | Rule on the line |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 | Melt 50–53°C · pour 58–60°C | 25–27°C under | No conflict. The low pour is the easiest match for any glass |
| Luxury Soy Wax Chunks | Add fragrance 80–90°C · pour 70–80°C (details table says 75–80°C) | 5–15°C under at pour | Add hot, then let it fall into the pour range before it touches glass |
| Eco Soy CSI 400 | Add fragrance at 85°C (80–90°C), stir 2 minutes, pour directly | At the line | Read the thermometer after stirring; pour only at 85°C or below |
| Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 | Melting point and pour both stated as 80–90°C | Top 5°C of the range is over | In 85°C-rated jars, pour at the 80°C end of the page's range and log it |
The glass itself is the other half of the stress. A jar straight from a cold storeroom meets hot wax with a far bigger temperature gap, and uneven cooling is a common cause of wax pulling away from glass. Keep jars at room temperature, away from fans, through pour and set.
What CSI's 45 in-stock glass listings actually state
Counting only in-stock glass candle jars, each colour listing separately, CSI has 45 listings in September 2026 (fourteen more are sold out), grouped here into ten families with what each page states.
| Family (in-stock listings) | Per jar | Stated capacity | Stated dimensions | Heat line | Lid |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Apothecary Dome Lid (1, two sizes) | ₹212.40 / ₹250 | ~500 g – 700 g | 13.2 cm with lid · 10 cm rim and base | Up to 85°C | Dome glass lid, snug fit |
| 150 g golden-lid clear (1) + Black, Orange, Pink, Red (4) | ₹94.40 clear · ₹107 colours | 150 g | 8 cm with lid · 7 cm rim · 6.5 cm base | Up to 85°C | Golden metal lid on clear, "included with every jar" |
| Matte, frosted & glossy 200 ml (14) | ₹70.80 | "fill weight of 200 ml" | Height 8 cm · width 7 cm | "withstand high heat" | Not mentioned |
| 200 ml Salsa clear (1) + 5 colours | ₹29.50–₹40.12 clear · ₹62 colours | 200 ml | Not stated | "Heat Resistant Glass" | 63 mm lug cap (title) |
| Shiny 120 gm (7 colours) | ₹47.20 or ₹50 | 120 gm | 6 cm diameter · 6.5 cm height | Not stated | Golden or black lid (title) |
| Borosilicate 600 g (1) | ₹200 | "Ideal for 500–600g wax fill" | Not stated | "heat-resistant" | Matte gold metal lid |
| Clip Top Airtight (1) | ₹229 | Wax fill 550 g | 11 cm × 11 cm × 10 cm | Not stated | Clip top, airtight seal |
| Candle Jar with Dome Lid (1) | ₹354 | Not stated | Not stated | Not stated | Dome lid (title) |
| Votives & small glass: 70 g votives (3), Colorful Votive (2), Shot Glass, Yankee 130 ml, Heart Cutout Velvet (1 each) | ₹31.86–₹57.60 | 70 g · none · 130 g · 130 ml · 50 g | Shot Glass and Velvet only | Not stated | Clear cap on Yankee only |
| Mini Glass Jars 40 ml (1, black or golden lids) | ₹21.24–₹25.96 | 40 ml | Not stated | Not stated | Black or gold lids, "Leak-Proof" |
Three patterns stand out. The two fullest pages are the two with a stated hot-pour limit, so a hot-poured, lidded candle can be planned around them without assumptions. The fourteen matte jars give the widest colour choice at one price; their gap is the lid. Price only compares fairly once jars pass these checks — the price comparison does the sorting. The single-sold statement jars — borosilicate, clip top, ₹354 dome lid — state least, so sample them hardest.
Four glass families worth qualifying for a bulk line
These four cover most commercial glass decisions: a statement jar, a lidded everyday jar with a stated limit, a colour range, and a clear jar genuinely listed at volume. Qualify at least two — the one you like on screen is not always the one that passes on your bench.

| Pack of 10 | ₹944 | ₹94.40 |
| Pack of 20 | ₹1,888 | ₹94.40 |

| 100 Pcs | ₹2,950 | ₹29.50 |
Pack ladders: where "bulk" changes the per-jar price
A bulk supplier should publish a pack ladder that reaches the volume you pour, and you should know whether climbing it changes the price or only the carton count.
| Glass family | Smallest pack · per jar | Largest pack · per jar | Change | Above the largest pack |

On flat-priced jars there is no listed penalty for buying the pack that matches your batch — twenty clear 150 g jars cost ₹1,888 as one 20-pack or two 10-packs. On stepped listings, check where the drop lands: Salsa clear reaches ₹29.50 at 50, but Mini Glass Jars only reach ₹21.24 at 100. Above the largest listed pack, the listed per-jar price is your planning ceiling and recurring volume is quoted. Quantity planning lives in the guides to buying 100 candle jars and buying 500.
Delivery-day inspection: the check that protects a bulk order
No product page, CSI's included, can promise that hundreds of jars all survive a courier network, and this guide will not quote a breakage rate nobody has published. What you control is how fast you find a problem and whether a flawed jar reaches the pouring table — because a crack found after pouring also costs the wax, oil and wick.
Wick matching belongs to the same qualification. Only the Salsa colour pages name a wick ("Pairs well with C2 Eco Wicks"), and Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made are stated for candles "exceeding 8 cm". Otherwise burn-test Eco Candle Wicks C1 (₹5.90) against C2 (₹9.44). More in the jar supplier guide for candle manufacturers.
From sample pack to recurring order
Build the relationship in stages, each answering one question before you spend on the next. Costs are CSI listed prices; the last stage has no price on purpose, because that is the quote.
| Stage | What to buy | Listed cost | Question answered |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 · Sample | Clear 150 g golden lid ×10 (₹944) · Black Matte ×5 (₹354) · Apothecary 500 gm ×2 (₹424.80) · Salsa clear ×5 (₹200.60) | ₹1,923.40 for 22 jars · ₹2,277.40 with a pen thermometer | Which families pour cleanly at your temperature and hold the grams you need? |
| 2 · Pilot batch | One 20-pack of the winning 150 g jar (₹1,888) or one 50-pack of Salsa clear (₹1,475) | ₹1,475–₹1,888 | Does the jar behave the same across a real batch, and what do you lose? |
| 3 · Launch stock | The chosen jar in listed packs — e.g. five 20-packs of clear 150 g (₹9,440) or one 100-pack of Salsa clear (₹2,950) | Listed per-jar price is the ceiling | Does the second delivery match the first on your inspection log? |
| 4 · Recurring | Exact listing title, colour, monthly quantity, pincode, GST number — on WhatsApp | Quoted by CSI | Recurring price, repeat-batch matching, transit-break process |
The basket spans four page types — two with a stated 85°C limit, one with ml and an unquantified heat line, one volume jar that states least. Twenty-two jars covers the heat, weigh and wick tests. If two families pass, you also have a fallback for when a colour sells out, as fourteen CSI glass listings have today.
Jars rarely travel alone. The wax you tested in them, the wicks matched to their diameter and the corrugated boxes you ship in can arrive in one order on one GST invoice. Whether consolidation suits you is weighed up in can I buy all my candle making materials from one supplier, and the wider sourcing picture is in where to buy candle jars in bulk.
CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials and containers, not finished candles — and it does not make the glass. So this guide reads CSI's own product pages the way a buyer should: counting which jars state a hot-pour limit and which do not, flagging where a coloured jar's description was written for its clear sister, and telling you to test the gaps. A maker who loses a batch to a spec that was never stated stops buying jars from anyone.
Every price, pack size, capacity, dimension and heat line here is from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing and specification always take precedence. Capacities are quoted in the unit each page uses — grams or millilitres — and never converted as if the page had stated both.
