What 100 kg a month really means

A buyer searching for 100 kg of soy wax already has a recipe that sells, repeat or wholesale customers, and a production rhythm that eats through 10 kg bags. The question is no longer "which wax?" — you answered that at 1 kg and 10 kg. It is "how do I make sure the wax is always there, always the same, and never ties up more cash than it has to?"

Start by turning the kilos into something you can schedule. Fragrance load is a percentage of the finished candle, so a 200g candle at 8% is 184g of wax and 16g of oil. One hundred kilos of wax divided by 184g gives 543 candles. Spread over 25 production days — an assumption, so substitute your own working calendar — that is 4 kg of wax a day and about 21.7 candles a day. A small-workshop load — with no quality department to catch a bad bag.

Look at the last column before anything else. Whatever size you pour, 100 kg of wax at 8% needs about 8.7 kg of fragrance oil (wax × 8 ÷ 92). At 10% it is 11.1 kg; at 13%, on a wax that states that ceiling, it is 14.9 kg. Four weekly 25 kg drops list at ₹14,993 × 4 = ₹59,972, eighteen rupees less than ten 10 kg bags, because each drop's 5 kg bag carries the ₹599/kg price. In practice the shapes cost the same; what differs is the cash sitting on your floor and how often you receive and test a delivery. It is an illustrative spread of the purchase price only, ignoring electricity, but it makes the point: at this volume the melter costs a few rupees per candle in year one and removes the most error-prone step of a double boiler — holding a large mass of wax at a steady temperature. The 30-minute figure is stated for the 10 kg unit and covers melting only; do not assume it for a 20 kg load.

A practical schedule for the fortnightly shape: five melter loads per 50 kg drop, one 10 kg load every two to three production days, each poured into about 54 × 200g candles or the equivalent mix. Label with the lot date and move to cure shelving; the previous drop's cured stock ships as the next drop arrives. Keep pillar wax on a separate melt.
