Buy Wax for Decorative Mould Candles

Can I use container soy? It is usually too soft to release cleanly.
Best for bright colours? Paraffin.
Does CSI sell moulds? Yes — 62 products.
Decorative mould candles are bought for how they look. The wax choice is about hardness, colour take-up and a smooth surface — with fragrance kept modest.

Colour cards, frosting and finish: making decorative mould candles look as sold
A decorative candle is judged in the first second, on a shelf or in a photo. The customer may never light it. So the questions that matter are about colour and surface: what shade you will actually get, whether it will stay that shade, and whether the surface looks finished.
Make a colour card before a single decorative pour
Colour looks different in the melting pot, in a spoon and in a set candle. Take one wax and one dye, and pour small puddles onto baking paper at a few dye strengths, from faint to deep. Label each with the amount of dye and the wax used. Let them set fully before judging them. Do this for each wax you are considering, because the same dye will read differently in each.
Expect soy to give softer, more pastel shades and a matte look. Paraffin takes colour brightly and gives a smoother shine. Yellow beeswax pulls every colour towards honey, so for clean colours with beeswax, choose the white pellets. CSI's Dyes collection lists 25 products; start with a few and build a card for each.
A worked scenario: a Diwali gift set
You are making sets of three moulded flower candles for Diwali hampers, in deep red, saffron and cream. The hamper photo is what sells them. Deep red on soy will frost and lighten slightly over time; on paraffin it will stay vivid. If your brand is built on soy, pour the soy version, photograph it honestly after a week of rest, and use that photo. If the brand is not soy-led, paraffin at ₹354.00 per kilogram will give the stronger red for less.
Fragrance and finish work against each other
Fragrance oil can soften the surface, shift colour and add sheen or spotting. Decorative pieces rarely need a strong scent, so keep it low or leave it out. If a customer wants scent, pour one scented sample alongside an unscented one and compare the surfaces before you promise both.

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. We publish every pack price, so every per-kilogram and per-candle figure here can be checked against the product pages — including the ones that show a bigger bag is not cheaper.
Prices are taken from live CSI stock in September 2026. Where a product page does not publish a specification, this guide says so rather than filling the gap.

Assumptions: Fragrance load 8% of total candle weight, so wax is 92% of the fill (a 200 g candle = 184 g wax + 16 g oil). Order plans add a 5% wastage allowance (10% where stated for festive buffers). "Cheapest listed packs" is the lowest-cost combination of listed pack sizes, preferring fewer bags when prices tie within a few rupees. Candle counts are rounded down. Costs are core materials only and exclude jar, label, packaging, labour, freight and GST unless stated. Wax stated fragrance maximums are the wax maker's formulation limits, not regulatory limits.
