Candle Dye Wholesale Supplier in India

Which should I use? Liquid dye or chips to colour the wax itself — the chips pages say pillars, votives or containers. Mica is commonly used for surface decoration and wax melts; test it in a burn before using it inside a wicked candle.
How much dye per candle? No CSI dye page states a dosage, so you find yours with a shade test. As a planning illustration only, 0.1% of wax weight is 0.184 g in a 200 g candle — ₹1.66 of 100 gm liquid dye.
Can I buy dye wholesale? The largest listed sizes are 100 g and 100 ml. For recurring or larger quantities, ask on WhatsApp for pricing and GST invoicing.
Every CSI colourant, in three families
A wholesale dye order starts with sorting the range properly, because the three families are not substitutes for each other. Liquid dye dissolves into melted wax and colours the whole candle. Dye chips do the same from a solid form. Mica is a shimmering mineral powder that sits in or on the wax rather than dissolving, which is why it is used differently. Within liquid dye there are also two price ladders — one sold in grams, one in millilitres — and that matters for both cost and weighing.
| Family | Colours in stock | Sizes and prices | Per g or ml at the largest size | What the pages state |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Candle Dye Liquid (gram line) | Blue, Green, Purple, Red, Yellow | 15 ₹236 · 50 ₹472 · 100 gm ₹900 (a few variants are labelled ml) | ₹9.00 | For pillar, votive and container candles; soy gives lighter to medium shades, paraffin a wider range (Green and Red pages) |
| Candle Dye Liquid (two sizes) | Black, Brown | 15 ₹236 · 50 ₹472 (Black in ml, Brown in gm) | ₹9.44 at 50 | Black page: soy gives lighter to medium shades; paraffin a wider range |
| Candle Dye Liquid (ml line) | Black, Brown, Orange | 15 ml ₹236 · 50 ml ₹590 · 100 ml ₹1,062 | ₹10.62 per ml | For pillar, votive and container candles |
| Pink liquid dye | Pink | ₹236, one listing | Size not stated | Confirm the quantity on WhatsApp before ordering several |
| Dye chips | Black, Brown, Green ₹236 · Blue, Red, Yellow ₹250 | One pack each | Pack weight not stated | "Dissolve evenly in wax"; for pillars, votives or containers; "precise control over color intensity" |
| Mica · standard shades | Blue, Green, White, Yellow | 10 gm ₹57.82 · 20 ₹115.64 · 50 ₹270.22 · 100 ₹529.82 | ₹5.30 | Shimmer, "a gorgeous pearly glow"; no numeric dosage |
| Mica · metallic and bright shades | Gold, Pink, Purple | 10 gm ₹116.82 · 20 ₹234.82 · 50 ₹529.82 · 100 ₹1,119.82 | ₹11.20 (₹10.60 at 50 g) | As above; Orange and Silver mica were sold out when checked |
Three details in that table change a wholesale order. First, the gram line and the ml line are priced differently at 50 and 100: 100 gm of Blue is ₹900, 100 ml of Orange is ₹1,062. If your palette mixes both, cost the two lines separately. Second, chip packs have no stated weight, so you cannot compare a ₹250 chip pack with a ₹236 liquid bottle on the page alone — weigh a pack on arrival or ask on WhatsApp. Third, on Gold, Pink and Purple mica the 50 g pack is cheaper per gram than the 100 g (₹10.60 against ₹11.20), so two 50 g packs (₹1,059.64) cost ₹60.18 less than one 100 g (₹1,119.82).
Which colourant for which wax and product
The table below maps each colourant to the products a candle business actually makes. Where a CSI page or a published customer review says something relevant, it is attributed; where the page says nothing, the guidance is general practice and marked as a test.
| Product | First choice | Evidence | Test before scaling |
|---|---|---|---|
| Soy or coconut-soy container candles | Liquid dye | Customer review: "Good vibrant colours in both luxury soy wax and coconut soy wax"; Green and Red pages: soy gives lighter to medium shades | Deep shades in soy — check colour after cure, not at pour |
| Paraffin or blended pillars | Liquid dye or chips | Green and Red pages: paraffin gives a wider range, pastel to darker; chips pages: for pillars, votives or containers | Wick behaviour at your deepest shade |
| Soy pillars and moulded candles | Liquid dye or chips | Soy Pillar Wax page: add fragrance oil and dye (optional) before pouring into the mould | How the colour looks against the mould's surface finish |
| Wax melts and tarts | Liquid dye, chips or mica | Mica is commonly used in wax melts; no wick is involved | Mica settling to the bottom as the melt sets |
| Surface decoration, dusted tops, embeds | Mica | Mica pages describe shimmer and a pearly glow | Whether surface mica reaches the melt pool when the candle burns |
| Colour inside a wicked candle | Liquid dye or chips | Dye chips pages: "dissolve evenly in wax" | Mica only after a full burn test in that wax, wick and candle size |
Four colourants to stock first
For a candle business starting a wholesale colour range, these four cover dissolving colour in two lines, solid colour and shimmer. The size tables show every listed pack and, for liquid dye, how many 200 g candles each bottle colours at the illustrative 0.1% dose explained in the next section — a planning number, not a CSI dosage.
| Size | Price | Per 100g | 200 g candles @ assumed 0.1% |

What colour costs per candle — and why the page gives no dose
Dye dose depends on the shade you want, the wax (soy is opaque, paraffin clearer), the fragrance oil's own tint and the size of the candle. A single number printed on a bottle would be wrong for most of those combinations, and CSI's pages do not print one. So the table below does not recommend a dose. It shows what colour would cost at four illustrative doses, expressed as a percentage of wax weight in a 200 g candle at an 8% fragrance load (184 g of wax), so you can see the cost is small wherever your own tested dose lands.
| Assumed dose (of wax weight) | Dye per candle | Cost · 100 gm bottle (₹9.00/g) | Cost · 15 g bottle (₹15.73/g) | Cost · 100 ml bottle (₹10.62/ml, if dosed by ml) | Candles from 100 g | Candles from 15 g |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.05% | 0.092 g | ₹0.83 | ₹1.45 | ₹0.98 | 1,086 | 163 |
| 0.1% | 0.184 g | ₹1.66 | ₹2.89 | ₹1.95 | 543 | 81 |
| 0.25% | 0.46 g | ₹4.14 | ₹7.24 | ₹4.89 | 217 | 32 |
| 0.5% | 0.92 g | ₹8.28 | ₹14.47 | ₹9.77 | 108 | 16 |
Put those numbers next to the rest of the candle. A 200 g candle poured with Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at ₹599 a kilo holds ₹110.22 of wax. Even at the heaviest illustrative dose, colour from a 100 gm bottle is ₹8.28 — and at 0.1% it is ₹1.66, about 1.5% of the wax cost. That is why saving money on dye by buying the smallest bottle is a false economy, and why paying for consistency is not. The expensive colour mistake is not the price of the dye; it is a batch of fifty candles in the wrong shade.
What a dye supplier should tell you — and what to ask
Wholesale dye buying is about repeatability: the same shade next month from the same recipe card. That depends partly on you and partly on what the supplier publishes and answers. Here is a checklist for any supplier, with CSI's position stated honestly.
| Question | Why it matters | CSI today |
|---|---|---|
| Is a dosage stated? | A starting point shortens the shade test | No numeric dosage on any dye or mica page — run the shade ladder above |
| Is the pack quantity stated? | You cannot cost per candle without it | Liquid dye and mica: yes, in g or ml. Dye chips and the Pink liquid listing: not stated — weigh or ask |
| Grams or millilitres? | Recipes must use one unit | Both are used, sometimes within one listing (a 15 ml variant beside 50 gm and 100 gm) |
| Is there a size ladder up to working quantities? | Test small, reorder large, same product | Liquid dye 15 → 50 → 100; mica 10 → 20 → 50 → 100; no 1 kg listed |
| Can you get documentation? | Some buyers and marketplaces ask for it | MSDS and GST invoicing are handled on WhatsApp |
| Is the colour you standardised on in stock? | A palette with a missing colour stops a line | Orange and Silver mica were sold out when checked in September 2026; every liquid dye and chip colour listed above was in stock |
When a new bottle of a standard colour arrives, pour one reference sample at your recorded dose and compare it with the last one you kept. It takes ten minutes, and it tells you — before a batch, not after — whether anything in your wax, oil or dye has shifted. If a shade ever looks different, message CSI with your recipe and a photo of both samples.
Buying dye at wholesale volume
The largest listed liquid dye sizes are 100 gm (₹900) and 100 ml (₹1,062); mica tops out at 100 g. There is no 1 kg dye listing — the arithmetic for makers searching for one is in candle dye 1 kg price in India. What the listed ladder does show is where the price break sits.
| Product line | Smallest | 50 | 100 | Saving, 15 → 100 | 2 × 50 against 1 × 100 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Candle Dye Liquid (gram line) | 15 ₹236 · ₹15.73 | ₹472 · ₹9.44 | ₹900 · ₹9.00 | 42.8% per gram | ₹944 vs ₹900 — 100 saves ₹44 |
| Black / Brown / Orange Candle Dye Liquid (ml) | 15 ml ₹236 · ₹15.73 | ₹590 · ₹11.80 | ₹1,062 · ₹10.62 | 32.5% per ml | ₹1,180 vs ₹1,062 — 100 saves ₹118 |
| Mica · Blue, Green, White, Yellow | 10 gm ₹57.82 · ₹5.78 | ₹270.22 · ₹5.40 | ₹529.82 · ₹5.30 | 8.4% per gram (from 10) | ₹540.44 vs ₹529.82 — 100 saves ₹10.62 |
| Mica · Gold, Pink, Purple | 10 gm ₹116.82 · ₹11.68 | ₹529.82 · ₹10.60 | ₹1,119.82 · ₹11.20 | 4.1% per gram (from 10) | ₹1,059.64 vs ₹1,119.82 — 2 × 50 saves ₹60.18 |
The big break is from the 15 g starter bottle to 50 g: ₹15.73 down to ₹9.44 a gram on the gram line. After that the saving is small, and on the metallic micas it reverses. So the wholesale rule is simple — test in 15, standardise in 50 or 100, and on Gold, Pink and Purple mica buy 50 g packs. For quantities beyond what listed bottles sensibly cover, or for a recurring palette order, message CSI on WhatsApp for pricing, GST invoicing and MSDS; we don't state here what that price will be.
CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies candle dyes and raw materials, not finished candles. It would be easy to publish a dosage and move on. We haven't, because our dye pages do not state one and a borrowed number would be wrong for many waxes, oils and shades. Instead we have shown what colour costs at a range of clearly labelled assumptions and how to find your own dose once.
Every price and pack size here is from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing always takes precedence. Statements about wax behaviour are quoted from the Green, Red and Black liquid dye pages and the dye chips pages; customer experiences are quoted from published Judge.me reviews and labelled as such. Mica guidance is deliberately limited to how it is commonly used, with a burn test before it goes inside a wicked candle.
