Every in-stock glass candle jar, by price per jar

CSI's containers collection holds about eighty listings. Forty-five of them are glass candle jars currently in stock; several share a price and a specification across colours, so the table groups those into one row. Each row shows the lowest listed per-jar price, the smallest-pack per-jar price where it differs, the capacity exactly as the page states it, and the price per 100 of that capacity. Sold-out jars are left out.

Two columns in that table deserve caution. "Single price, pack not stated" means the listing shows one price with no pack quantity, so the per-jar figure assumes one jar; if you are ordering in volume, confirm the pack on WhatsApp first. And the per-100 column mixes two units — millilitres of volume and grams of wax — which is why the chart above colours them differently. A millilitre-stated jar holds fewer grams of wax than its label number, and you pour below the rim in any jar, so the ml rows flatter themselves slightly against the gram rows.

Four price bands and what each buys

The list falls naturally into four bands. Each has a different job in a candle range, and knowing which band a jar sits in tells you roughly what retail price it can support before you have costed a single gram of wax.

The jump from the second band to the third is the one to watch. At ₹94.40, the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid costs a third more than a matte jar (₹70.80) while stating a smaller capacity — 150g of wax against 200 ml. What the extra money buys is specification: a stated gram fill, a stated hot-pour limit of 85°C, stated height, rim and base diameters, thick-walled glass and a golden metal lid. For a maker selling gift candles on a printed weight, that certainty is worth more than volume. For a maker selling on colour, the matte jar is the better buy.

Price per 100 ml or 100 g of stated capacity

Re-sorting by price per unit of stated capacity turns the list almost upside down. The table below separates the two units so each comparison is fair, and ranks within each. It uses only jars whose pages state a capacity.

The gram column has a clear pattern: per gram, large jars are cheap and tiny jars are dear. The heart jar costs ₹90 for every 100 g it holds; the 700 gm apothecary jar ₹35.71. Glass, lid and finish don't scale with volume, so small vessels carry more fixed cost per gram. That is not a reason to avoid small jars — votives and hearts sell as testers and favours at prices that absorb it — but it is a reason not to judge a large jar by its sticker price alone.

The millilitre column is dominated by the clear 200ml Salsa jar, which at ₹14.75 per 100 ml is less than half the rate of any other millilitre-stated jar. It is also the jar in the list whose page gives the least else to go on: no dimensions, no gram fill and no hot-pour temperature — only "heat resistant glass" that "withstands the heat of hot wax without cracking or warping". The low price per capacity is real; the test pour is still yours to do.

Where pack size changes the price

"Wholesale price" usually implies that buying more lowers the price per jar. On CSI's glass jars that is true for three listings and false for the rest. Every other in-stock glass jar has the same per-jar price in every pack it is sold in.

For everything else — votives 70 gram, velvet hearts, shiny jars, coloured Salsa, matte, the 150 gram golden-lid jars — the listed pack sizes are about convenience, not price. Ten 10-packs of matte jars cost exactly what a hundred would at the same rate, and five 20-packs of Clear Glass Jars with Golden Lid cost exactly what ten 10-packs do. Larger and recurring volumes are quoted on WhatsApp; we don't state what those quotes will be. The quantity-specific maths is in buying 50 jars, 100 jars, 500 jars and 1,000 jars.

From jar price to candle cost

A jar's price only matters in proportion to the candle it holds. To put the list in that context, the table adds the cost of the fill at each gram-stated jar's capacity. The fill uses Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at ₹599 per kg and Lavender Fragrance Oil at ₹5,221 per kg, at an 8% load as a share of the finished candle — about ₹96.88 per 100 g. Wick, sticker, label and packaging are left out so the jar-versus-fill comparison stays clean.

Across the list, the jar is between about a quarter and a half of the jar-plus-fill cost, and the pattern follows the per-gram table: small jars carry the highest share, large ones the lowest. The Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid is the exception in the middle — at 39% it is a premium vessel for a mid-size candle, which is exactly how it is described and priced. A switch from a ₹47.20 shiny jar to the ₹94.40 golden-lid jar adds ₹47.20 to a candle that also grows by 30 g, while a switch from a ₹200 borosilicate to a ₹250 apothecary jar adds ₹50 to a candle that grows by 100 g.

Listings to read twice before you compare

None of these makes a jar a poor buy. They are the reason a careful buyer compares on the specific jar, pack and unit rather than on the headline price, and they are exactly the details worth putting in a WhatsApp message before ordering more than a test pack.
