How Much Money Can a Candle Business Save by Buying Wax Wholesale?
शेयर करना
Is 10 kg cheaper than 1 kg? Only for Pearl and CSI 468 on CSI's listed prices.
How do I calculate it? Wax grams (92% of fill) × price per gram.
Does bulk save money? Little on listed packs; ask for a quote above them.
The honest answer on CSI's listed prices: for most waxes, almost nothing per kilogram. The saving is real on one wax, small on another, and elsewhere comes only from a quote.
What buying bigger saves on 100 kg a year
| Wax | 1 kg per kg | Best listed per kg | Saving on 100 kg |
|---|---|---|---|
| Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (flakes) | ₹507.40 | ₹507.40 | ₹0.00 |
| Natural Soy Pearl Wax | ₹450.00 | ₹424.80 | ₹2,520.00 |
| Eco Soy CSI 400 | ₹399.00 | ₹399.00 | ₹0.00 |
| Luxury Soy Wax Chunks | ₹599.00 | ₹598.00 | ₹100.00 |
| Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 (flakes) | ₹650.00 | ₹637.00 | ₹1,300.00 |
| Soy Pillar Wax | ₹600.00 | ₹600.00 | ₹0.00 |
On Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, the 500 g bag is the cheapest per kilogram (₹598.00) and the 10 kg bag the dearest (₹599.90) — 10 kg costs ₹9 more than ten 1 kg bags. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (flakes) and Soy Pillar Wax cost the same per kilogram at every size. Eco Soy CSI 400's 5 kg bag is ₹1 dearer than five 1 kg bags. The real breaks: Natural Soy Pearl Wax falls from ₹450.00 to ₹424.80 per kg from 5 kg (5.6%), and Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 (flakes) from ₹650.00 to ₹637.00 (2.0%).
Bigger savings than wholesale wax, hiding in the same order
If buying wax wholesale saves you little, the useful question is where the money actually is. On a year of 100 kg, the two best listed wax savings are ₹2,520.00 on Pearl and ₹1,300.00 on CSI 468. Two other places in the same workshop usually hold more.
Wastage beats the wholesale discount
A 5% wastage allowance on 100 kg of CSI 464 is 5 kg of wax. That is the price of a 5 kg bag, ₹2,537.00, which is already more than the entire Pearl bulk saving. Spills, over-poured test jars and the layer left in the pot add up quietly. Halving wastage is worth more on CSI 464 than any pack size CSI lists. Scrape the pot, pour tests into small jars you can sell or use, and weigh what you throw away for a month.
Fragrance oil pack size moves more than wax pack size
Several candle oils are cheaper per kilogram in the 1 kg bottle than in 100 g bottles. Jasmine is ₹430.00 for 100 g and ₹3,923.00 for 1 kg, so ten small bottles cost 4,300 rupees against 3,923 for one large one, about 9% more. Citrus Lemon is ₹300.00 against ₹2,832.00, and Dark Vanilla ₹790.00 against ₹7,646.00. Sandalwood is the exception: ₹502.68 for 100 g is exactly a tenth of ₹5,026.80. Once a scent is a steady seller, the bigger bottle is where a pack-size saving actually lives.
Rejected candles are the most expensive waste
A candle that fails inspection loses its wax, its oil, its wick and its jar together. One reject in a batch of 50 can cost more than you save on a year of wholesale wax. Fixing the cause of rejects, whether it is pour temperature, wick size or curing, pays back faster than any purchase.
When wholesale is still worth asking about
If you pour well beyond the listed packs, ask for a quote on WhatsApp (+91 7397976926). Treat any figure you are given as a bonus to check against your own usage, not as the reason you are profitable.

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. We publish every pack price, so every per-kilogram and per-candle figure here can be checked against the product pages — including the ones that show a bigger bag is not cheaper.
Prices are taken from live CSI stock in September 2026. Where a product page does not publish a specification, this guide says so rather than filling the gap.

Assumptions: Fragrance load 8% of total candle weight, so wax is 92% of the fill (a 200 g candle = 184 g wax + 16 g oil). Order plans add a 5% wastage allowance (10% where stated for festive buffers). "Cheapest listed packs" is the lowest-cost combination of listed pack sizes, preferring fewer bags when prices tie within a few rupees. Candle counts are rounded down. Costs are core materials only and exclude jar, label, packaging, labour, freight and GST unless stated. Wax stated fragrance maximums are the wax maker's formulation limits, not regulatory limits. Pack sizes not listed on the store (2, 20, 25, 100 kg) are shown as combinations of listed packs; larger quantities are quoted on WhatsApp. Diwali 2026 falls on 8 November.
