100 luxury 300 g jars: what the extra weight changes on the bench
Makers who search for 100 candles at 300 g are usually launching a signature piece: a heavy glass jar, a long burn, a price point above the rest of the range. The wax sum is simple. What changes is how the candle behaves while it cools, travels and sits on a shelf.
Big jars cool unevenly
A 300 g fill holds heat far longer than a small tin. The outside sets first and the centre can pull down into a sinkhole around the wick. Many makers plan a second, small top-up pour. That top-up wax has to come from somewhere, and it is not in the 5% allowance unless you put it there. If you top up each jar with even 10 g, 100 jars take another kilogram.
Common fault at 300 g: Pouring hot wax into cold jars on a cold bench, then chasing sinkholes with a heat gun. Warm the jars, pour at the temperature your wax states, and let them cool away from fans and open windows.
A 1 kg test bag gives only three
At 300 g, 1 kg of wax makes just three candles. That is thin for testing, because you want at least one to burn from start to finish and one to inspect after a few days. A 5 kg bag makes 18, a more honest test budget for a new large jar. CSI 464 costs ₹507.40 per kilogram at both sizes, so testing from a 5 kg bag carries no price penalty.
Price the candle, not just the wax

Shipping and summer
A finished 300 g candle in glass is heavy and fragile, and freight usually rises with weight. Between April and June, a parcel in a hot van can soften the surface of a heavily scented candle. Pack for heat as well as breakage, and keep your own finished stock in the coolest room you have.
