Split it into batches
At 10 kg per melt, 96.6 kg is 10 batches. Pour the same wax, oil, load and wick in every batch, log each bag's date, and keep one candle per batch as a retained sample.
500 jars at 200 g, one 10 kg melt at a time
500 candles at 200 g is the order size of a studio supplying a shop chain, a hamper company or its own online store through a season. The page above splits it into ten 10 kg batches. What decides whether ten is enough is how many candles each batch really gives.
54 per bag is the ceiling
A 10 kg bag holds enough wax for 54 candles at 184 g each, with 64 g left over. That assumes nothing is lost. Once you allow 5% for the pot, spills and test pours, the usable wax is about 10 ÷ 1.05 = 9.52 kg, which makes 51 candles. Ten melts at 51 give 510, so ten bags cover 500 with a thin margin. Nine bags would not.
A steady pouring rhythm
Ten melts are best spread over several days rather than crammed into one. Set a fixed routine: same melt temperature, same oil weight, same pour temperature, same cooling shelf. Label each tray with the batch number and the date on the bag it came from. If a complaint arrives later, you can trace it to a single melt of about 51 candles instead of all 500.
Oil is planned per melt too. At 8%, a candle with 184 g of wax carries 16 g of oil, so 51 candles need 816 g per melt, a little under one 1 kg bottle each time.
Storing 500 finished candles
Finished stock takes more room than the wax did. In a north or west Indian summer, a closed storeroom can get far hotter than the pouring room, and heavily scented candles can sweat or soften. Store them in outer cartons, away from a sun-facing wall and off the floor. In the monsoon, keep cartons away from damp so labels and boxes survive, even though frosting on the wax itself is only cosmetic.

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. We publish every pack price, so every per-kilogram and per-candle figure here can be checked against the product pages — including the ones that show a bigger bag is not cheaper.
Prices are taken from live CSI stock in September 2026. Where a product page does not publish a specification, this guide says so rather than filling the gap.
