What temperature should I pour at to avoid wet spots? Inside the range the grade publishes. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks pours at 75–80°C, CSI 468 at 58–60°C, and CSI 464's page gives 80–90°C as the working range for melting and pouring. Find your own point inside that range with the nine-jar trial below.
How long should candles stand before I move them? Leave the tray untouched for at least four hours, and leave lids off for 24 hours. Moving a jar while the plug is still setting breaks contact you cannot rebuild, and a lid trapped over warm wax puts moisture back on the glass.
Can I guarantee a batch with no wet spots at all? No, and no supplier should claim otherwise. A candle poured in Mumbai and opened in Ludhiana has seen swings you do not control. What a good protocol does is cut the rate a long way and move the remainder into containers where nobody can see them.
What prevention can and cannot do for you
A wet spot is a patch where shrinking soy released from the glass. Everything that follows in this guide is aimed at two outcomes: making release less likely in the first place, and making whatever release does happen invisible to the person holding the candle. Both are legitimate. Only one of them is usually attempted.
The limit is worth stating before the method. You control the room you pour in, the glass you pour into and the first day of the candle's life. You do not control the courier van that parks in the sun at Sanpada at two in the afternoon, the shop window in Jaipur that faces west, or the customer who puts a candle on top of a refrigerator. A candle poured perfectly can still show a patch six days later, and a supplier who tells you otherwise is selling certainty rather than wax.

Decision one: pick a container that forgives
Clear glass displays every millimetre of the wall. Matte and frosted surfaces scatter light before it arrives, coloured and black glass absorb it, and ceramic and metal stop it entirely. The air gap is unchanged in all of them; only the visibility changes. For most Indian D2C ranges — festive gifting, corporate hampers, wedding favours — that is the whole problem solved, at a lower unit cost.
Shape matters too, and gets less attention. A straight-sided jar lets a shrinking plug settle evenly. A shouldered or tapered jar gives the plug somewhere to lever against, and a heavy base cools at a different rate from a thin wall, which sets up the uneven contraction that produces patches. If you are choosing new stock and have a free hand, straight-sided and even-walled is the easier candle to make.

There are good reasons to stay in clear glass and this guide is not an argument against it. A layered or embedded design has to be seen. A brand built on showing the wax cannot hide it. Some gifting buyers specify clear. If that is you, read the rest of this page twice — the protocol is what stands between you and a reject pile. The four hours that decide how the jar looks
Once wax is in the jar, the only remaining variable is how heat leaves it. Even, slow cooling lets the whole plug contract together while it is still soft enough to stay in contact with the wall. Uneven or fast cooling sets one region hard while the rest is still moving, and the moving part pulls away from the set part. Every rule below is a way of making the heat leave evenly.

Cure, storage and the courier: keeping what you gained
A candle continues to respond to temperature for as long as it exists. The plug is bonded to the glass at a few points and floating free at others, and every warm-cool cycle works on that boundary. This is why a maker can be certain nothing left the studio spotted and a customer can be equally certain it arrived that way. Both are usually telling the truth.

Two honest notes about the parts you cannot control. The first is that courier interiors in an Indian summer get far hotter than the air outside, and no packing material available to a small maker changes that — insulation slows the rise, it does not prevent it. The second is cost. Real CSI customers have said in their reviews that delivery charges are high enough to limit how much they order, and one of those reviews is on this page. Shipping insulated packaging adds weight and therefore adds cost, so this is a judgement call: for a ₹237.99 matte-jar candle, heavy protective packing is usually not worth it, and for a clear-glass gifting order it usually is.
There is also a simple product answer for shipped orders that is worth considering before you engineer a packing solution. If a line exists in both clear and matte, ship the matte version and keep the clear version for local pickup, studio sales and exhibition stalls where you control the handling. The candle is the same. The risk is not.

One scheduling note that follows from the table. If your range includes both a clear-glass line and a matte line, build the production calendar around the weather: clear glass in October and the cooler, stable months; matte and tin through the monsoon and the deep winter. It costs nothing, it uses the seasons instead of fighting them, and it is invisible to the customer.
Find your own pour window with a nine-jar trial
The grid is three jar states against three pour temperatures, one jar in each cell, poured from a single melt so that the wax, the oil, the load and the wick are identical everywhere. Use clear glass for the trial even if you sell in matte: you are trying to see the fault, not hide it. Keep a note card under each jar.

Score each jar three times — at 24 hours, at 72 hours and at day 14 — with two numbers: how many separate patches you can count, and the longest dimension of the biggest one in millimetres. Photograph every jar at every reading, in daylight, against white paper. Two numbers and a photograph beat any amount of remembering.
Cost, at the series unit of 200 g of wax plus 16 g of fragrance oil at 8% of wax weight: with CSI 464, Roasted Coffee Fragrance Oil at 1 kg pricing and one Eco Candle Wicks C1, a candle is ₹167.19 before the jar, ₹237.99 in a matte jar and ₹261.59 in a clear one. Nine clear-glass trial jars are ₹2,354.29 of materials, and every one of them is a saleable candle at the end of the fortnight. That is the cheapest process knowledge you will ever buy.
Read the result as a window rather than a point. If jars 5, 6, 8 and 9 are all clean at day 14, your answer is the middle-to-top of the range with an acclimatised jar, and you now have room to move on a cold morning. If only jar 6 is clean, your process is sitting on a knife edge and something else — the surface under the tray, the AC, the jar shape — is eating your margin for error.

The equipment for all ten checks is modest. A Pen Thermometer at ₹354.00, Isopropyl Alcohol Spray at ₹520.00 for the 1 Litre, a Steel Pouring Pitcher at ₹708.00 for the 600 ML, a Wick Centering Device at ₹118.00 and Bamboo Stirring Sticks at ₹118.00 for five come to ₹1,818.00. If your wax temperature is the thing that drifts, a Mini Electric Wax Melter at ₹2,360.00 holds a melt steadier than a pan on a hob, which matters most in a cold room where the pitcher loses heat between the first jar and the last.
Two things deliberately not on that list. An additive is not there because it is not a fix for a thermal problem: the Vybar Additive page suggests 0.5–2% of wax weight and the lower end, 0.5–1%, for soy, and it is worth a controlled trial once your process is stable — but Eco Soy CSI 400 is sold as needing no additives, and reaching for one before you have fixed the temperature gap buys you a more expensive version of the same jar. A hot air gun is not there either — CSI lists one at ₹531.00 but stock is low, and reflowing a top after the fact is a rescue technique rather than prevention.
