This is the price matrix, not an argument. Every glass container family CSI stocks, at every pack size, with the rupee total and the rupee-per-unit next to it — so you can cost a finished candle without emailing anyone for a rate card.
₹21.24–₹354
the full per-unit spread across in-stock glass, from Mini Glass Jars at 100 pcs to the Candle Jar with Dome Lid · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What is the cheapest wholesale glass candle jar at CSI? Mini Glass Jars at ₹21.24 each in a pack of 100 (₹2,124.00). The cheapest lidded glass is the 200ml Salsa Glass Jar with golden lug cap at ₹29.50 each in packs of 50 or 100.

Do prices actually drop with volume? On two families, genuinely: Salsa golden-lid falls from ₹40.12 to ₹29.50, and Mini Glass Jars from ₹25.96 to ₹21.24. Most of the rest are flat — a matte jar is ₹70.80 whether you buy 5 or 10, and a coloured salsa jar is ₹62.00 at 5, 50 and 100 alike.

What should a finished candle cost me? A 150 g lidded candle works out at roughly ₹247.74 in materials at a 10% load with Sandalwood — glass ₹94.40, wax ₹68.50, wick ₹9.44, fragrance ₹75.40. Glass is 38% of it.

How do I compare another supplier's quote? Five columns only: per-unit landed, pack size, fill capacity in grams, lid included or not, and the breakage policy in writing.
The short answer
In-stock glass runs ₹21.24 to ₹354.00 per unit. The ladder has six real tiers: mini jars, votives and salsa (₹21–₹40), lidded shiny jars and shot glasses (₹45–₹50), coloured salsa (₹62), the matte/frosted/glossy family (₹70.80), 150 g lidded jars (₹94.40–₹107.00), and the statement glass — borosilicate, apothecary dome and clip-top (₹200–₹354).
Volume breaks exist in two places only. Salsa golden-lid drops 26.5% at 50 pcs; Mini Glass Jars drop 18.2% at 100. Assume flat pricing everywhere else and you will be right most of the time.
Cheapest per unit is not cheapest per gram of capacity. A 70 g votive costs ₹0.455 per gram of fill. A 600 g borosilicate jar costs ₹0.333. Big glass is cheaper glass, per gram.
The per-unit glass ladder — CSI live pricing, September 2026 Mini Glass Jars · 100 pcs ₹21.24 Salsa golden lid · 50–100 pcs ₹29.50 Votive jar 70 g · 5 or 10 pcs ₹31.86 Shiny glass jar with lid · 1 or 5 ₹47.20 Matte / frosted / glossy · 5 or 10 ₹70.80 Clear jar + golden lid 150 g · 10–20 ₹94.40
Six in-stock glass families at their best available per-unit price, bar length proportional to rupees. The spread from bottom to top is 4.4×, and every figure above is a published CSI variant price divided by the units in the pack — not a negotiated rate. Two of these six get cheaper if you buy more; four do not.
Straight answer
What does wholesale glass actually cost a candle business in India?
Between ₹21.24 and ₹354.00 per jar, and the number you land on is decided almost entirely by which family you pick — not by how hard you negotiate. Mini Glass Jars at 100 pcs are ₹21.24. 200ml Salsa jars with a golden lug cap are ₹29.50 at 50 or 100. 70 g votives are ₹31.86. Shiny lidded jars are ₹47.20. The whole matte, frosted and glossy family is ₹70.80 flat. 150 g clear jars with golden lids are ₹94.40, coloured ones ₹107.00. Above that sits the statement glass — 600 g borosilicate at ₹200.00, apothecary dome jars at ₹212.40 and ₹250.00, a clip-top at ₹229.00 and the Candle Jar with Dome Lid at ₹354.00. Two families reward volume and the rest are flat. If you want the economics of that decision rather than the numbers, the wholesale jar economics guide covers margin; the glass material itself is covered separately. This page is the matrix.
One line: in-stock glass spans ₹21.24 to ₹354.00 per unit, only Salsa golden-lid and Mini Glass Jars have genuine volume breaks, and the family you choose matters roughly sixteen times more than the quantity you order.
If you only read the table once, read the salsa row. ₹200.60 for 5 pcs is ₹40.12 a jar; ₹1,475.00 for 50 pcs is ₹29.50 a jar — a 26.5% cut for a lidded 200 ml container, which is the largest genuine volume break in the CSI glass range.

The master matrix — every glass family, every pack size

Most Indian glass suppliers will quote you one family at one quantity and call it a rate card. This is the whole range, with the out-of-stock lines left in.

Everything below is a published variant price on Containers For Candle Making, which carries 80 products in total. The per-unit column is the variant price divided by the number of pieces in that pack — arithmetic, not a separate offer, and it is the only column that lets you compare a pack of 5 against a pack of 100 honestly. Prices are CSI live pricing, September 2026; the linked product page is always authoritative. Lines marked OOS were out of stock on the pull date and are shown anyway, because a supplier who quietly deletes sold-out lines from a price list is teaching you nothing about their actual availability.

The one line in that table you should not buy. Mini Glass Jars in Golden at 25 pcs cost ₹1,180.00 — which is ₹47.20 a jar, dearer than the same jar in a 5-pack at ₹25.96. The 50-pack is also ₹1,180.00, at ₹23.60 a jar. Same money, twice the glass. The Black colourway prices its 25-pack sensibly at ₹634.25 (₹25.37). We are pointing at our own variant here because a price list you cannot trust to flag its own oddities is not a price list. If you want 25 golden mini jars, buy 50 — or buy five 5-packs at ₹649.00 and keep ₹531.00.
Three things the matrix deliberately leaves out
Tins, ceramic and wax-melt clamshells are not in this table, because they are not glass and mixing them into a glass comparison flatters whichever one you were going to pick anyway. For the record, the nearest non-glass comparators are Golden Aluminium Tin Containers 85 g at ₹360.00 per 12 (₹30.00 each) and the Ceramic Jar for Candle Making at ₹129.80. Freight and GST are also excluded — they are a function of your pin code and your order weight, not of the jar.

The per-unit cost ladder, cheapest to dearest

Same data, reordered by the only number that matters when you are costing a product line. Every row below is in stock as of September 2026; out-of-stock lines are excluded here because you cannot build a range on them. The right-hand column is the honest part — a ₹21.24 jar and a ₹354.00 jar are not competing for the same order, and a price list that pretends they are will send you to the wrong one.

The spread is 16.7× from bottom to top, which is wider than the spread in wax (₹220.00 to ₹1,097.40 per kg, or 5.0×) and wider than the spread in wicks (₹5.90 to ₹59.00 a piece, or 10.0×). Glass is the single most elastic line in a candle's bill of materials, which is why choosing the family first and negotiating second is the correct order of operations. Supplier selection matters too, and that is covered in how to choose a candle jar supplier in India — but no supplier relationship will move you from ₹70.80 to ₹29.50. Changing families will.

The CSI principle
Cheapest per unit and cheapest per gram of capacity are two different jars, and most makers only ever calculate the first one.
A 70 g votive at ₹31.86 costs ₹0.455 per gram of wax it can hold. A 600 g borosilicate jar at ₹200.00 costs ₹0.333. The 700 g apothecary dome at ₹250.00 costs ₹0.357, and the 130 g shot glass at ₹48.00 costs ₹0.369. The ₹200 jar is the cheapest container in the range by the measure that decides your cost per gram of finished candle — and the ₹94.40 clear 150 g lidded jar, at ₹0.629 per gram, is nearly twice as expensive by that measure as the jar that costs more than twice as much.

This is not an argument for only selling large candles. Large candles need more wax, more fragrance and often three wicks, so the absolute cost per unit climbs even as the cost per gram falls, and a ₹200 jar has to be sold into a price bracket that will carry it. It is an argument for knowing which of the two numbers you are optimising before you place the order. If your retail price is set per candle, per-unit glass cost is your constraint. If you are quoting a corporate order by weight or by hamper value, cost per gram of capacity is. How to price candles in India in 2026 works through the retail maths in full.

1
Volume tier · steepest break in the range
200ml Salsa Glass Jar with 63 mm Golden Lug Cap
The cheapest lidded glass CSI stocks, and the only family where stepping up a pack size changes the per-unit price by more than a rupee or two. A lug cap seals by quarter-turn, which makes it practical for anything that ships closed or sits in a hamper. The listing states 200 ml of volume; it does not publish a gram fill weight, so weigh your own first pour before you cost a batch from it.

Entry tier · cheapest glass per unit
Mini Glass Jars (Candle Making Containers)
Black and golden colourways, four pack sizes each, and the only in-stock glass in the range that goes below ₹22 a unit. This is favour and giveaway glass — return gifts, hamper fillers, scent samplers — not a retail hero. The listing does not publish a fill capacity, so treat any candle cost you build on it as provisional until you have weighed a pour. Check the golden 25-pack warning in the matrix above before you order that variant.

Retail tier · stated fill, lid included
Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid — 150 g
The cheapest jar in the range with a published gram fill capacity and a lid, which is exactly the combination you need to cost a finished candle precisely. Clear glass at ₹94.40 against ₹107.00 for the black, red, pink and orange versions of the same jar — a ₹12.60 colour premium that holds at both pack sizes. No volume break: 10 or 20, the per-unit price is identical, so order 10 and reorder rather than tying up cash.

Working back from Diwali on 8 November 2026, glass is the line item you order first, because it is the one that is either in the carton or it is not — wax and fragrance can be topped up, a discontinued colourway cannot. Bulk quantities, GST invoicing and stock checks on specific colourways are handled directly on WhatsApp.

Where the volume breaks are real, and where they are not

Two families get meaningfully cheaper when you buy more. Seven do not. Knowing which is which is worth more than any conversation about quantity.

The industry habit is to assume that a bigger pack always carries a better rate, and to order against that assumption. Across the CSI glass range it is true twice. Everywhere else the per-unit price is flat from the smallest pack to the largest, which means ordering a bigger pack buys you inventory, not a discount. That is a perfectly good reason to order a bigger pack — fewer freight legs, fewer reorder gaps — but it is a logistics decision, not a pricing one, and confusing the two is how small candle businesses end up with ₹6,200 of one colourway sitting in a storeroom.

1
The salsa break is the biggest in the range, and it is worth taking if you need fifty jarsFifty 200ml Salsa jars bought as ten 5-packs cost ₹2,006.00. The same fifty jars bought as the 50-pack cost ₹1,475.00. That is ₹531.00 saved on one order, or ₹10.62 per jar, for a lidded 200 ml container — and the 100-pack holds the same ₹29.50, so there is no further gain from doubling again beyond halving your freight legs.
2
The mini jar break is gradual, in four stepsMini Glass Jars move ₹25.96 → ₹25.37 → ₹23.60 → ₹21.24 across packs of 5, 25, 50 and 100. The useful step is the one from 25 to 50: ₹634.25 for 25 jars against ₹1,180.00 for 50, so the second twenty-five cost you ₹545.75 — ₹21.83 each, cheaper than any published per-unit price on the product. The step from 50 to 100 is worth a further ₹2.36 a jar.
3
The coloured salsa jars are the clearest "do not bulk buy yet" in the rangeRed, green, amber, light pink and purple 200ml Salsa jars are ₹62.00 a unit at 5 pcs, at 50 pcs and at 100 pcs. Identical. Ordering the 100-pack at ₹6,200.00 saves you nothing per jar against buying twenty 5-packs. Buy the ₹310.00 pack of 5, pour it, photograph it and see whether the colour sells before you commit ten thousand rupees of glass to a colourway your customers have not voted on. We would rather sell you five jars twice than a hundred jars once and never see you again.

Flat pricing is not bad pricing — it changes what the order is forWhen a family is flat, the only questions left are how much stock you want to hold, how many freight legs you want to pay for, and how much cash you are willing to park. A pack of 10 matte jars at ₹708.00 is exactly two packs of 5 at ₹354.00. Order the 10 because you will use 10, not because you think you are getting a rate.
Do not buy the 100-pack yet. If you are selling fewer than roughly twenty candles a month, a 100-pack of salsa jars at ₹2,950.00 is five months of stock, and a 100-pack of mini jars at ₹2,124.00 is longer than that. The saving is real — ₹1,062.00 and ₹472.00 respectively across a hundred units — but it arrives slowly, and in the meantime the cash is in a carton rather than in fragrance oil, wicks or advertising. Glass does not expire, so there is no spoilage argument against holding it; there is only a cash argument, and at small volumes the cash argument wins. Buy the 5-pack, prove the SKU, then step up. The sequencing for that is set out in the bulk jar sourcing guide and, at the other end of the journey, in scaling to 1,000 orders a month.

Fill capacity and the wax cost that goes with it

A glass price on its own tells you nothing about a finished candle. What decides your bill of materials is fill capacity × wax price, and the jar is often the smaller half of that sum. The table below costs a complete candle for every glass family whose listing publishes a gram fill weight, so you can read your material cost straight off it and set a retail price against it.

Assumptions, stated so you can change them: a 10% fragrance load, so wax is 90% of the fill and fragrance is 10%; Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at 1 kg or larger pricing, ₹507.40 per kg, which is ₹0.5074 per gram; Sandalwood Fragrance Oil at 1 kg pricing, ₹5,026.80 per kg; and Eco Candle Wicks at ₹5.90 for Thin C1 and ₹9.44 for Thick C2. Wick counts above 150 g are a modelling assumption — two wicks at 500 g and three at 600–700 g — and you must run your own burn tests rather than trusting that; the wick-by-diameter guide is the method. Excluded: freight, GST, labels, boxes, dye and your labour.

Cost a finished candle from the glass row
Stated fill capacity · wax · fragrance · wick · what the glass is as a share of it
Glass (₹/unit) Stated fill Wax @ 90% Fragrance @ 10% Wick Materials total Glass share
Heart Cutout Velvet, red (₹45.00) 50 g 45 g · ₹22.83 5 g · ₹25.13 ₹5.90 ₹98.86 45.5%
70 g votive, clear or white matte (₹31.86) 70 g 63 g · ₹31.97 7 g · ₹35.19 ₹5.90 ₹104.92 30.4%
Shot Glass Jar (₹48.00) 130 g 117 g · ₹59.37 13 g · ₹65.35 ₹9.44 ₹182.16 26.4%
Clear Glass Jar + Golden Lid (₹94.40) 150 g 135 g · ₹68.50 15 g · ₹75.40 ₹9.44 ₹247.74 38.1%
Coloured 150 g jar + lid (₹107.00) 150 g 135 g · ₹68.50 15 g · ₹75.40 ₹9.44 ₹260.34 41.1%
Apothecary dome jar (₹212.40) 500 g 450 g · ₹228.33 50 g · ₹251.34 ₹18.88 ₹710.95 29.9%
Borosilicate + golden lid (₹200.00) 600 g 540 g · ₹274.00 60 g · ₹301.61 ₹28.32 ₹803.93 24.9%
Apothecary dome jar (₹250.00) 700 g 630 g · ₹319.66 70 g · ₹351.88 ₹28.32 ₹949.86 26.3%

Two readings come out of that table immediately. First, glass is between a quarter and a half of your material cost, and it is the largest single line on small candles — 45.5% on a 50 g velvet jar. Second, fragrance overtakes glass the moment the candle gets big: on the 700 g dome jar the oil costs ₹351.88 against ₹250.00 of glass. If you are trying to protect margin on a large candle, the lever is the oil, and dropping from Sandalwood at ₹5.03 a gram to Citrus Lemon at ₹2.83 a gram removes ₹153.64 from that same 700 g candle. On the 150 g lidded candle the same swap saves ₹32.92. Neither of those is a glass decision.

The cheaper-wax version of the same table
Swap CSI 464 at ₹507.40/kg for Eco Soy CSI 400 at ₹399.00/kg and the 135 g of wax in a 150 g candle falls from ₹68.50 to ₹53.87 — ₹14.63 off every unit, or ₹1,463 across a hundred-candle festive run. Natural Soy Pearl Wax at ₹424.80/kg in 5 kg and above sits between the two at ₹57.35. That is a bigger saving than anything the glass column offers you at these quantities, which is worth knowing before you spend a week negotiating jar prices.
Half the range does not publish a fill weight, and you should not guess one. The matte, frosted and glossy family, the shiny lidded jars, Mini Glass Jars, the clip-top container and the Candle Jar with Dome Lid are all listed without a stated gram capacity. The salsa jars and the Yankee 130 ML jar state a volume in millilitres, which is not the same thing — soy wax is less dense than water, so a jar that takes 200 ml of water will hold less than 200 g of wax. Measure it yourself on the first pack: fill one jar with water to the line you intend to pour to, weigh the water, then weigh your actual first pour. Record the real number against the jar in your recipe sheet and cost every future batch from that, not from the marketing description. Any supplier — CSI included — should be able to tell you a fill weight on request; if they cannot, they have not poured into their own jar.

How to read any Indian supplier's glass quote

Five columns. If a quote does not give you all five, it is not a quote — it is a number.

This section applies to any glass supplier in India, CSI included, and it is deliberately written so you can use it against us. Wholesale glass quotes are hard to compare because suppliers vary the unit of quotation: one quotes per piece ex-works, one quotes per carton delivered, one quotes a rate that turns out to exclude the lid. Normalise everything to one number — rupees per unit, landed at your address, with the lid on — and most of the ambiguity disappears.

The five-column comparison
What to ask, why it moves the price, and what the CSI listing gives you as a benchmark
Ask for Why it decides the real price The CSI benchmark
Per-unit landed — price ÷ pieces, plus freight and GST to your pin code A carton rate and a piece rate are not comparable, and freight on glass is weight-driven, so a cheap jar from far away can land dearer than an expensive one from nearby Published per-unit price at every pack size in the matrix above; freight and GST quoted against your pin code and order weight before you pay
Pack size and minimum order A ₹25 jar with a 500-piece minimum is a ₹12,500 decision, not a ₹25 one. The MOQ is the actual commitment Packs of 1, 5, 6, 10, 20, 25, 50 and 100 depending on family. Single-jar purchase available across the shiny lidded, votive and dome ranges
Fill capacity in grams, not millilitres or "approx." You cost a candle in grams of wax. A volume figure or a nominal size is not costable, and the gap between 200 ml and 200 g is real money at scale Stated in grams on the votive, 150 g, shot glass, apothecary, borosilicate and velvet ranges. Stated in ml on the salsa and Yankee jars. Not stated on the matte, shiny and mini families — ask, or weigh
Whether the lid is included The commonest hidden cost in a glass quote. A lid can be a quarter of the jar price, and "jar" means different things to different factories Included where the product name says so — golden lid, black lid, lug cap, dome lid, bamboo lid, clear cap. The matte, frosted, glossy and votive families are supplied without lids
Breakage policy, in writing, before you order Glass breaks in transit. What matters is whether the quote covers replacement, credit or nothing, and who photographs what within how many hours Raise breakage on WhatsApp at the time of ordering, with photographs on delivery. Get the answer before the consignment leaves, not after it arrives

A sixth question is worth adding for anyone building a repeatable product line rather than a one-off batch: is this colourway going to still exist in six months? Fourteen lines in the matrix above are marked out of stock, and that is the ordinary condition of a glass range — moulds change, colour runs end, factories reschedule. If your brand identity depends on a specific frosted brown jar, ask about restock intent before you print labels sized to it. Choosing a supplier on that basis rather than on headline price is the subject of the supplier selection guide, and the ordering mechanics — payment, dispatch, what to check on arrival — are in buying candle jars online in India.

Priced on this page: Mini Glass Jars ₹2,124.00 per 100 (₹21.24 each) · 200ml Salsa Glass Jar ₹1,475.00 per 50 (₹29.50 each) · Clear Glass Votive 70 g ₹159.30 per 5 (₹31.86 each) · Black Shiny Glass Jar with Golden Lid ₹236.00 per 5 (₹47.20 each) · Black Matte Glass Jar ₹354.00 per 5 (₹70.80 each) · Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid 150 g ₹944.00 per 10 (₹94.40 each) · Borosilicate 600 g ₹200.00 · Candle Jar with Dome Lid ₹354.00 · CSI 464 ₹507.40/kg · Eco Candle Wicks ₹5.90 and ₹9.44 each. Labels, boxes and shipper cartons sit in Packaging Materials.

One last piece of arithmetic that is easy to skip. Glass is heavy, and freight on a hundred jars is not a hundred times the freight on one. If you are ordering glass, wax, wicks and fragrance anyway, consolidating them into one consignment does more for your landed cost than shaving rupees off the jar — the case for single-supplier sourcing is made properly in wholesale candle making raw materials across India. And if you are sizing a first order from scratch, what it actually costs to start a candle business in India works through the whole opening basket rather than just the glass line.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. This page publishes our own per-unit prices in a table that makes them trivially easy to compare against anyone else's, including the lines where our pricing is unattractive — the coloured salsa jars with no volume break at ₹62.00 a unit, and the golden Mini Glass Jar 25-pack that costs more per jar than the 5-pack. A price matrix that hides its own weak rows is advertising, not a reference.

Every figure here is taken from live CSI variant pricing on 10 September 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing, specification and availability always take precedence. Per-unit figures are the listed variant price divided by the number of pieces in the pack — arithmetic on published prices, not separate offers. Out-of-stock lines are labelled rather than removed. Fill capacities are quoted only where the listing states one; where it does not, this page says so instead of estimating.

For quantities beyond the published pack sizes, colourway stock checks, GST invoicing, or a fill weight on a jar that does not publish one, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest wholesale glass candle jar in India at CSI?
Mini Glass Jars at ₹21.24 per unit in a pack of 100 (₹2,124.00), in black or golden. The cheapest lidded glass is the 200ml Salsa Glass Jar with a golden 63 mm lug cap at ₹29.50 per unit in packs of 50 or 100. If you want to test before committing, the cheapest in-stock single-unit glass purchase is a Colorful Votive Glass Jar at ₹35.40.
Do glass candle jar prices drop if I order in bulk?
On two families out of nine, yes. 200ml Salsa golden-lid jars fall 26.5%, from ₹40.12 at 5 pcs to ₹29.50 at 50 and 100 pcs. Mini Glass Jars fall 18.2%, from ₹25.96 at 5 pcs to ₹21.24 at 100. Everywhere else the per-unit price is flat: matte jars are ₹70.80 at both pack sizes, 70 g votives are ₹31.86 at both, 150 g lidded jars are ₹94.40 or ₹107.00 at both, and coloured salsa jars are ₹62.00 at 5, 50 and 100 alike. Ordering more of a flat-priced family buys you stock and saves freight legs — it does not buy you a rate.
How much does a finished candle cost me in materials?
For a 150 g candle in a clear glass jar with a golden lid, at a 10% fragrance load: glass ₹94.40, 135 g of CSI 464 at ₹507.40/kg is ₹68.50, 15 g of Sandalwood at 1 kg pricing is ₹75.40, and a Thick C2 Eco Wick is ₹9.44 — ₹247.74 in total, of which glass is 38.1%. A 70 g votive on the same basis comes to ₹104.92. Neither figure includes freight, GST, labels, boxes, dye or your time.
How many grams of wax does each jar hold?
Where the listing states it: 50 g for the Heart Cutout Velvet jar, 70 g for the votives, 130 g for the shot glass jar, 150 g for the lidded clear and coloured jars, 250 g, 300 g and 600 g across the borosilicate range, and 500 g and 700 g for the apothecary dome jars. The matte, frosted, glossy, shiny lidded, clip-top, dome and Mini Glass Jar listings do not publish a gram capacity, and the salsa and Yankee jars are stated in millilitres — soy wax is less dense than water, so a 200 ml jar holds less than 200 g of wax. Weigh your first pour and cost from that number.
Are lids included in the jar price?
Where the product name says so, yes — golden lid, black lid, 63 mm lug cap, dome lid, bamboo lid and clear cap are all supplied with the jar at the quoted price. The matte, frosted and glossy family at ₹70.80 and the 70 g votives at ₹31.86 are supplied without lids. This is the single most common source of confusion when comparing glass quotes between suppliers, so confirm it explicitly on any quote you receive from anyone.
Which glass jar is cheapest per gram of wax it holds?
The 600 g borosilicate jar with a golden lid, at ₹0.333 per gram of stated capacity (₹200.00 ÷ 600 g). The 700 g apothecary dome jar is ₹0.357, the 130 g shot glass ₹0.369, the 70 g votive ₹0.455, the 150 g clear lidded jar ₹0.629 and the 50 g velvet jar ₹0.900. Larger glass is consistently cheaper per gram of capacity and more expensive per unit, so which number you optimise depends on whether you sell by the candle or quote by the hamper.
