Buying pillar wax wholesale when the price per kilogram never drops
Most wholesale advice assumes the big bag is cheaper. With Soy Pillar Wax it is not. Ten 1 kg bags, two 5 kg bags and one 10 kg bag all work out at ₹600.00 per kilogram. That changes how a trade buyer should think about ordering.
Flat pricing is not all bad news
No bulk break also means no penalty for buying small. You are not paying extra to order a 5 kg bag at ₹3,000.00 this month and another next month. That keeps cash free for fragrance, dyes and moulds, which is where a pillar business often runs short. It also means less opened wax sitting in a store room through a humid monsoon.
So match the pack to your production cycle, not to a hoped-for discount. If you pour 5 kg a fortnight, buy 5 kg a fortnight.
Asking for a better price
Buyers do ask. One reviewer on the Soy Pillar Wax page, Dipali Sable, wrote: "Hope to get some discount in future for bulk buys". The listed packs stop at 10 kg. Above that, CSI quotes on WhatsApp, so if you are planning 20 kg or more, send the quantity and ask. Do not budget on a discount until you have one in writing.
When paraffin is the honest answer
If the lowest price per kilogram is what matters, Fully Refined Paraffin Wax Pellets are listed at ₹354.00 per kilogram and Semi Refined Paraffin Wax at ₹220.00. Both are listed only up to 1 kg, so a wholesale paraffin order also needs a WhatsApp quote.
The semi-refined grade carries a stated oil content of 6–10%, which is the softer, oilier end of paraffin. For a freestanding pillar in a warm shop, trial it before you commit, and compare against the fully refined pellets.
A cost figure to put on your price list
In a 300 g pillar at CSI's 8% fragrance convention, the Soy Pillar Wax costs ₹165.60. In a 200 g one, ₹110.40. Put that line on your costing sheet next to oil, wick, dye, packaging and your time. If the retail price still works with soy wax at a flat rate, the missing bulk break does not matter.
