A wooden wick is sold on its looks and its crackle. A wholesale buyer needs the numbers underneath, and some of them are not on the page.
The product page describes wooden wicks as "made from thin strips of wood". It lists four benefits: a crackling sound "reminiscent of a fireplace"; that they "tend to burn more cleanly than cotton wicks, with less smoke and soot"; that they "can burn for longer than cotton wicks"; and a natural look for rustic or organic décor. Those are general claims about wooden wicks as a category, and the page presents them that way. Treat them as reasons to test, not as results for your candle. Wax, fragrance load and vessel will all change how any wick behaves.

The mistake: ordering 100 wooden wicks for a jar you haven't burned. With cotton, a wick that is slightly wrong can be swapped for the next size up or down in the same range. With a single-size wooden wick there is no next size. If it drowns in your jar or throws a flame too big for it, the fix is a different vessel, a different wax or a different wick type, and the other 90 wicks in the pack wait until you find it. The practical reading: most of the saving arrives at 50, where you save ₹11.80 a wick. The step from 50 to 100 is worth another ₹5.90 a wick. So the 100-pack is right for production, but it is not a dramatic further saving. If 100 wooden wicks would sit on a shelf for two seasons, the 50-pack's cash position may suit a young business better.
The pack rule: how many to buy

Two traps sit inside that table. Two 50-packs cost ₹4,720, which is ₹590 more than one 100-pack for the same 100 wicks, so never buy two 50s. And ten 10-packs cost ₹5,900, ₹1,770 more than the 100-pack. That is the price of drip-buying a wick you have already decided to use. Once the test is passed, consolidate.
The two thresholds to remember

With one wick size, you don't choose the wick for the jar. You choose the jar for the wick.
Cotton ranges let you move up or down a size until the pool is right. A single-size wooden wick removes that dial, so the vessel diameter, the wax and the fragrance load become the controls. Test those against the wick, then standardise the jar that passes.

Check the wicks before you pourMeasure one wick's width and height, check how the tab is supplied, and note both. These are the figures the product page does not state, and you will want them when you reorder.

The wick that keeps going out. A wooden wick that lights and then drowns in its own pool is a common wooden-wick complaint, and it is rarely a faulty wick. Check the three things you can change: trim height (compare candles A and B), the vessel (a wick struggling in the 10 cm jar may be fine in the 7 cm one), and fragrance load (hold it at 8%, well inside the stated ceiling of up to 13% for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks). Before buying several sheets, check that a 10 mm circle covers enough of the tab supplied with your wooden wicks. There is also a Large Candle Wick Stickers listing (₹249 for 40), but its page states both 20 mm and 10 mm, so confirm the size before relying on it for a wider tab. For a wooden line, the Wick Setting Tool is the natural first holder to try, because its magnetic bar holds the wick from above rather than asking a flat wick to pass through a round hole. A wooden wick's crackle sells a story, and a woody scent finishes it. Woody Oud is the oil used in the test above and in the per-candle costing, at ₹4,531.20 a kilo — flat from 100 g to 1 kg on the listed prices. What is the wholesale price of wooden wicks in India?
At CSI in September 2026, Performance Wooden Wicks | Imported are ₹590 for 10 (₹59 each), ₹2,360 for 50 (₹47.20 each) and ₹4,130 for 100 (₹41.30 each). Five 100-packs make 500 wicks for ₹20,650 at the listed ceiling of ₹41.30. For 500 or more, or a recurring order, ask for a quote on WhatsApp. The product page always shows current prices.
Do CSI wooden wicks come with wick tabs?
The product page states "One Pack contains 10 wicks and wick tabs." It does not say whether the tabs arrive fitted to the wicks, or state the tab count for the 50 and 100 packs. Confirm both on WhatsApp before a volume order, because they decide your fixing workflow. Fix each tab to the jar floor with a wick sticker (₹100 for 40), and check the 10 mm sticker covers the tab well enough.
What size jar is a wooden wick suitable for?
The CSI page states no jar sizing, and only one wick size is listed, so choose the jar by test. Pour a 10-pack into three stated-size vessels — for example 6 cm (Amber Shiny Glass Jar, 120 gm), 7 cm (Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid, 150 g) and 10 cm (Apothecary jar, 500 gm) — and burn them to the base. Standardise on the vessel whose pool reaches the glass without a tall or sooting flame.
Is the 100-pack of wooden wicks worth buying?
Yes, once a vessel has passed its burn test and you need more than 70 wicks. A 50-pack plus three 10-packs costs the same ₹4,130 as the 100-pack, so above 70 the extra wicks cost nothing. Between 31 and 50, the 50-pack at ₹2,360 costs the same as four 10-packs. Never buy two 50-packs: ₹4,720 is ₹590 more than one 100-pack.
Why does my wooden wick keep going out?
Usually the wick is drowning in its own pool, and the fix is rarely a new wick. Check the three things you control, one at a time: trim height (compare two candles trimmed differently), vessel diameter (the same wick can struggle in a wide jar and burn well in a narrower one), and fragrance load (hold at 8% while testing). Re-test after every change, and keep notes.
How much more does a wooden wick add to a candle than a cotton wick?
At 100-pack pricing, ₹31.86 more per candle than a ₹9.44 Eco Candle Wick C2, and ₹29.30 more than a ₹12 Cotton Braided Wick. With the same wax, oil, jar and sticker, a wooden wick is 20.6% of the materials in a 120 g jar, 15% in a 150 g jar and 5.8% in a 500 g jar. That makes wooden wicks easiest to justify in large, premium-priced candles.
