Candle Business Guides · Vijayawada
A candle business in Vijayawada usually ends up running two product lines rather than one: small votives that move in quantity through the festival and lamp season, and a larger jar that carries the brand and the margin. This guide takes a realistic two-line year, converts it into grams, prices every line from packs that actually exist, sets a reorder point for each line, and says plainly where the catalogue stops.
14.24 kg
of fragrance oil for a 2,200-unit year — 1,800 votives of 70 g plus 400 gift jars of 130 g at an 8% load — with 163.76 kg of wax alongside it, bought as fourteen 1 kg bottles and five smaller ones because 1 kg is the largest listed fragrance pack · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
How much fragrance oil does a 2,200-candle year need? At an 8% load, 14.24 kg — 10.08 kg for 1,800 votives of 70 g (5.6 g each) and 4.16 kg for 400 jars of 130 g (10.4 g each). Alongside that sits 163.76 kg of wax, which is the line that decides whether the order fits in your room.
Can I buy 5 kg of one scent? Not as a pack. 1 kg is the largest fragrance pack listed anywhere in the range. Four kilos of one scent is four bottles. Above that there is no published price at all — only a WhatsApp quote on +91 7397976926, and no page or guide can tell you what it will say.
What does the year cost in materials? Built entirely from listed packs: ₹77,506.80 of fragrance, ₹83,213.60 of wax, ₹14,396 of wicks, ₹80,388 of vessels and ₹5,500 of wick stickers — ₹2,61,004.40, or about ₹118.64 per unit across 2,200 units. The vessels and the wax are each a bigger line than the fragrance.
When do I reorder? Per line, not per business. A votive line burning 5.6 g a unit and a jar line burning 10.4 g run down at different speeds, so they need two separate floors — and because no lead time is published, both floors have to come from your own calendar rather than from the supplier.
The short answer
Convert every line into grams before you price anything: units × oil grams per unit. A candle count cannot be bought; grams can. Do the wax in the same sitting, because at this scale wax is the volume problem and fragrance is only the cash one.
Buy the ceiling you can see, then ask about the rest: 1 kg per fragrance oil, 10 kg on most soy waxes and 50 kg on Natural Soy Pearl Wax. Multiply those listed prices to get a ceiling figure, send it to WhatsApp, and never plan a client quote around a discount you have not been given.
Set one reorder floor per line and per scent: the scent that goes into the lamp-season votives will empty months before the premium jar oil does. A single business-wide reorder point guarantees you are early on one and late on the other.
Bar length is the oil each scent actually consumes; the label is the route bought from listed packs. Citronella is the line to notice — because its 100 g rung is ₹7.67 a gram against ₹2.891 at the kilo, buying three whole kilos costs ₹885 less than buying 2.8 kg as two kilos plus smaller bottles, and leaves you 200 g in hand.
What does a Vijayawada candle business actually have to buy for a year of production?
Grams, not candles — and the conversion is the whole job. A two-line year of 1,800 votives of 70 g and 400 gift jars of 130 g at an 8% load needs 14.24 kg of fragrance oil and 163.76 kg of wax: 10.08 kg of oil and 115.92 kg of wax for the votives, 4.16 kg and 47.84 kg for the jars. Split across four scents, that is nineteen bottles, because 1 kg is the largest fragrance pack CSI lists — there is no 5 kg or 10 kg bottle and no published price for one. Costed from listed packs: Mahogany Shea 4 kg at ₹19,540.80, Citronella 3 kg at ₹8,673, Spicy Raspberry 3.4 kg at ₹20,393 and Royal Oud 4.5 kg at ₹28,900 — ₹77,506.80 of fragrance in total. Add ₹83,213.60 of CSI 464 at its flat ₹507.40 a kilo, ₹14,396 of Eco wicks, ₹80,388 of vessels and ₹5,500 of stickers, and the year is ₹2,61,004.40 of materials, about ₹118.64 a unit. Then set two reorder floors rather than one, because the two lines empty at different speeds, and no lead time is published for you to lean on.
One line: write the year in grams, buy the listed ceilings, keep one reorder floor per line, and send WhatsApp a quantity rather than a request for a rate.
Production-scale packs at listed prices: Citronella 1 kg ₹2,891, Mahogany Shea 1000 gm ₹4,885.20, Spicy Raspberry 1kg ₹5,999, Royal Oud 1 kg ₹6,400, Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 10 kg ₹5,074 and Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) 1000 ₹5,900.
A year of production is two arithmetic problems and one calendar. Most businesses do the calendar first and then wonder why the purchase order will not close.
The two-line shape is not an invention; it is what a Vijayawada candle business tends to grow into. The small format moves in quantity through the long occasion season — Dussehra at Indrakeeladri, Diwali on 8 November 2026, then the lamp weeks of Karthika Masam, then Sankranti in January — usually as votives, thamboolam gifts or return gifts in counts of 51, 101 or 151. The larger format is what a gift shop, a café or a corporate buyer puts on a shelf, and it is where the margin lives. The two lines have different unit economics, different scents and different reorder speeds, and treating them as one business is the source of most purchasing mistakes at this scale.
The year, converted · 8% load as a share of the finished candle
What each line consumes in oil, wax, wicks and vessels — and what each unit costs to make
Worked out above: 1,800 × 5.6 g = 10,080 g and 1,800 × 64.4 g = 115,920 g; 400 × 10.4 g = 4,160 g and 400 × 119.6 g = 47,840 g. Per-unit materials for a votive = wax 64.4 g × ₹0.5074 (₹32.68) + oil + Eco Thin (C1) wick ₹5.90 + jar ₹31.86 + sticker ₹2.50, giving ₹89.13 with Citronella at kilo pricing (₹16.19 of oil), ₹100.30 with Mahogany Shea (₹27.36) and ₹106.53 with Spicy Raspberry (₹33.59). A 130 g gift jar = wax ₹60.69 + Royal Oud 10.4 g at ₹6.40 (₹66.56) + Eco Thick (C2) wick ₹9.44 + vessel ₹57.60 + sticker ₹2.50 = ₹196.79.
Verify a pack count before a bill of materials rests on it. The Shot Glass Jar listing states a fill capacity of 130 gram and dimensions of 8 cm high by 6 cm across, which is exactly what you need for planning — but its title says a pack of six while its description says a pack of five. At ₹288 a pack that is the difference between ₹48 and ₹57.60 a jar, and across 400 jars it is the difference between ₹19,296 and ₹23,040. This guide costs it at the cautious ₹57.60. Before you commit a 400-unit line to any vessel, ask on WhatsApp what the pack actually contains and count the first pack that arrives. The same discipline applies to the 85 gram and 135 gram tins, listed in packs of 12, and to the separate aluminium tin with lid, which is currently sold out in both its pack sizes.
The 1 kg ceiling, and what nineteen bottles means
This is the constraint that shapes every production order here, so it is worth stating without any softening. The largest fragrance pack listed anywhere in the CSI range is 1 kg, offered on 87 of the 107 fragrance listings. There is no 2 kg, no 5 kg and no 10 kg bottle; no page exists for those quantities, therefore no price exists for them either, and anyone who tells you otherwise is guessing. What you can do — and should do before you message anybody — is multiply the listed kilo price to get an honest ceiling figure for the quantity you need.

Wax has its own ceiling, differently shaped. On most soy waxes the largest listed pack is 10 kg — ₹5,074 on CSI 464, ₹5,999 on Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, ₹6,370 on Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 — and there is no 25 kg or 100 kg sack in the catalogue at all. So 163.76 kg of CSI 464 is sixteen 10 kg bags plus four 1 kg bags: 164 kg for ₹83,213.60, at a flat ₹507.40 a kilo whichever pack you choose. The one exception in the range is Natural Soy Pearl Wax, listed at 50 kg for ₹21,240 — ₹424.80 a kilo against ₹450 at 1 kg — which would bring the same 164 kg down to about ₹70,020.
That ₹13,193.60 wax saving has a test attached to it
Switching the whole year from CSI 464 to Natural Soy Pearl Wax looks like ₹13,193.60 of free margin, and on the invoice it is. What it costs you is every burn test you have already passed. CSI 464's page states a load of up to 10% and gives melt and pour as 80–90°C; Natural Soy Pearl Wax's page states no load and no temperatures at all. That is not a defect, but it means the new wax is an untested variable across both lines simultaneously. If the saving is worth having, buy 5 kg, re-run the wick and load tests on both formats, and switch only after a day-14 burn — not in the same order as the year's production.
Four oils costed at production scale
At this volume an oil earns its place on three grounds: what its page states, what it costs inside the actual unit, and whether its ladder and stock position let you buy the quantity you need. Each card lists every pack, the price per 100 g, and how many 70 g votives at 8% each pack would scent.
1
Warm woody · the flattest ladder in the plan
Mahogany Shea Fragrance Oil
A soft, warm woody that suits gifting votives and reads as expensive without an oud price tag. Its commercial virtue at this scale is the ladder: ₹4.8852 a gram at 100 g, at 500 g and at 1 kg — identical — which removes the rung decision entirely and means you buy whichever number of bottles is easiest to store and label. Only the trial rungs are dearer (₹10.9347 a gram at 15 g, ₹6.608 at 50 g). Be clear about the trade-off: this page states no fragrance load, no cure time and no flash point, so you are carrying the testing burden yourself. At production volumes that is a reason to pour it at 8% of the finished candle, keep the load fixed across the year, and never raise it mid-run.

Citrus-herbal · the cliff at 500 g
Citronella Fragrance Oil
The cheapest scent in this plan and the one where the rung decision is worth the most. Its ladder is unusual: flat at ₹7.67 a gram across both the 50 g and 100 g bottles, then a cliff to ₹2.95 at 500 g and ₹2.891 at the kilo. In other words, below 500 g you are paying more than two and a half times the bulk rate — which is why a 2.8 kg requirement is better served by three whole kilos than by two kilos and smaller bottles. The page states a flash point of 270°F and a vanillin content of 0%, meaning no discolouration risk in white or pale wax, and gives a notes pyramid of lemon and lemongrass over citronella and green herb on wood. It states no candle load, so hold it at 8% and burn-test.

Fruity-spice · the festive votive scent
Spicy Raspberry Fragrance Oil
Fresh raspberry and pink pepper over cinnamon, rose and clove, on vanilla, amber and soft musk — a fruit-and-spice profile that does well in the weeks between Dussehra and Sankranti, when buyers want something festive but not heavy. Commercially it is the most boring ladder in the range and that is useful information: ₹5.98 a gram at 50 g, ₹5.99 at 100 g, ₹5.998 at 500 g, ₹5.999 at 1 kg. There is no volume decision to make, so buy the fewest bottles that cover the run. Like Mahogany Shea, the page carries notes and performance description but no stated load or flash point, which at 600 units means fixing your own recipe early and writing it down. Reference points for this family are in best fruity fragrance oils for candle making.
Oriental oud · the margin line, and the best-documented page here
Royal Oud Fragrance Oil
The scent carrying the gift-jar line, and the one page in this set that publishes what a production buyer needs. It states a maximum candle usage of 10% for soy, paraffin and blends, describes itself as high-impact at a low dose — effective from 6–10% in candles, states that IFRA compliance applies within category limits and explicitly refers you to the product SDS for full IFRA category details, and recommends a 72–96 hour cure before assessing cold throw and burn performance. It also names what it blends with — rose, saffron, cardamom, vanilla, amber, sandalwood. Watch the rungs: the 100 g pack is currently sold out, leaving 500 g at ₹3,300 (₹6.60 a gram) and 1 kg at ₹6,400 (₹6.40), so 4.5 kg is the closest you can buy to a 4.16 kg requirement.

Do not build a 700-unit line on an oil with one rung in stock. The most on-brief scent for the Karthika lamp weeks is a temple sandalwood, and CSI lists one — Sacred Sandal Ember, whose page states 8–10% in soy wax. But of its three listed packs only the 500 g is currently available, and a 700-votive line needs 3.92 kg. That is a procurement risk, not a scent problem: either build the line on an oil with depth across several rungs, or buy the 500 g now, test it, and ask on WhatsApp about the quantity you would need before you promise anybody 700 candles. Single-rung availability is the most common reason a production plan quietly changes scent halfway through.
The year's bill of materials
Everything the two lines consume, priced from listed packs only, with nothing quoted and nothing assumed. Read it as a purchase plan to be split across the year rather than a single order — the splitting is the subject of the next section.
2,200 units · 1,800 votives of 70 g and 400 jars of 130 g · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Every line, the route bought, the cost, and its share of the materials
Look at the shares before you look at the total. Fragrance is 30% of this year and vessels are 31%; wax is 32%. Which means the two levers most businesses never pull — the vessel and the wax — are together worth twice what the entire fragrance shortlist is worth. It also means the honest answer to "how do I get my fragrance cheaper" is usually "you cannot meaningfully, but you could reconsider the glass". Pricing a finished candle from these figures is a separate discipline; the method is in how to price candles in India in 2026.
The CSI principle
At production scale the supplier stops being a shop and becomes a line item. Give it grams, a date and a document list — and keep your own arithmetic, because nobody else is doing it for you.
A business that sends "1.65 kg of this, 4.5 kg of that, 164 kg of wax, pouring from the first week of December, GST invoice, SDS for one oil" gets a useful answer in one reply. A business that sends "what are your bulk rates" starts a conversation that cannot conclude, because the rates are already published and the quantity is the only new information in the room.
Two reorder floors, not one
A reorder floor you invented, wrote down and then respected beats a lead time you assumed. Only one of those two things actually exists.
This is where the unpublished transit time actually bites, and the fix is unglamorous. Since CSI publishes no lead time, courier or rate, you cannot set a floor as "reorder when there are four days of stock left". You set it as "reorder when there is less than my own planning window of stock left", pick that window deliberately, and write it down. A four-week window is a reasonable starting assumption for a business that cannot afford to stop pouring — and it is an assumption, not a published figure.

Two things fall out of that table. First, the floors are different for every scent, which is the whole argument against a single business-wide reorder rule: a rule tuned to the votive line leaves the Royal Oud either overstocked or exposed. Second, the stopgap matters as much as the floor. A scent with five rungs in stock can be topped up at 100 g while a kilo is on its way; Royal Oud cannot, because that rung is out of stock, and Citronella technically can but at ₹7.67 a gram against ₹2.891 — a top-up that costs more than the shortage it fixes. Build the floor higher on the oils with no cheap stopgap.
Never let a proven scent reach zero mid-run. At 2,200 units a year the expensive failure is not paying a little too much for oil; it is stopping. A stalled run means a client handover missed, a festival window gone, and — worst of all — the temptation to substitute a different oil into a recipe you have already burn-tested and priced. Hold one unopened bottle of each proven scent as floor stock that never gets counted as available inventory, and reorder against the floors above. One bottle of Citronella is ₹2,891; one missed Karthika handover of 200 votives is several times that in revenue you had already effectively sold.
Above the listed packs there is no published price — only a quote. Send the grams: four 1 kg bottles of Royal Oud is ₹25,600 at listed prices, 164 kg of CSI 464 is ₹83,213.60, 50 kg of Natural Soy Pearl Wax is ₹21,240. Bulk pricing, GST invoicing and documentation all run through the same line.
A quote request is not a negotiation opener; it is a specification. Five minutes spent assembling it turns a conversation that could take a week into one reply. Here is the sequence, and the reason each step exists.
1
Convert both lines into grams and kilos, and state them"1,800 votives of 70 g and 400 jars of 130 g at an 8% load — 14.24 kg of fragrance oil and 163.76 kg of wax." That single sentence is more useful than any description of your business, because it is the only part anybody can price.
2
Name the oils and the split, not "a mix of scents"3.92 kg Mahogany Shea, 3.36 kg Spicy Raspberry, 2.8 kg Citronella, 4.16 kg Royal Oud. Naming the oils lets stock depth be checked against your plan before you commit — which is exactly how you avoid discovering that a rung you needed has gone.
3
Say which part is above the listed packs, and give your own ceiling figure"Royal Oud needs 4.16 kg — at the listed 1 kg price that is ₹26,624 for 4.16 kg, and I would buy 4.5 kg as four kilos plus a 500 g." Showing the arithmetic you have already done tells the other side precisely what question you are asking, and it keeps you from accepting a number you have not checked.
4
Give the date you need to be pouring by, not the date you want the parcelWork back from the handover through the cure. For a Karthika Masam delivery, the pour has to be finished well before the lamp weeks begin, and Diwali 2026 is 8 November. Since no transit time is published, the slack belongs in front of the order — and saying the pour date lets somebody tell you if a rung is a problem.
5
List the documents in the same messageA GST invoice raised to your business name, and an SDS or IFRA document for each named oil if a corporate or hotel buyer has asked for one. Royal Oud's page points you to its SDS for full IFRA category details; that document is requested, not downloaded. Asking now is far cheaper than asking after you have quoted a client.
6
Ask about the container in the same conversationVessels are 31% of this bill of materials. Confirm the Shot Glass Jar pack count, check whether the votive jars are available in the quantity you need, and get both answered before the fragrance is ordered — because a line with no vessel is not a line.
Where the catalogue stops
A supplier that names its gaps is easier to plan around than one that implies it has everything, so here is the list that matters at production scale. There are no candle-making machines in the range — nothing for moulding, filling or wicking — so 2,200 units a year is 2,200 units poured by hand, and your constraint is labour and pouring days rather than material availability. There is no 25 kg or 100 kg soy sack: 10 kg is the largest listed pack on most waxes, with Natural Soy Pearl Wax also at 50 kg. There is no fragrance pack above 1 kg, and no 1 kg dye pack. There are no pre-tabbed wicks either — the closest listed equivalents are Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made, Eco Candle Wicks and the braided wick roll supplied with 100 separate wick tabs, none of which should be described as pre-tabbed.
Equally important is what no listing publishes, because that is where production planning goes wrong quietly. No fragrance page states a shelf life or a storage temperature, so date your bottles rather than inventing an expiry. No page states throw distance, room coverage or burn hours, so a corporate buyer's question about "how long does it burn" has to be answered from your own timed test, not from the catalogue. And no lead time, courier or shipping rate is published, which is why the reorder floors above are built from a stated four-week planning window rather than a promise. What CSI does say it handles on WhatsApp is bulk pricing, GST invoicing, and MSDS or IFRA documentation — those three, for a named oil, on request.
Businesses that stop pouring in November have rarely run out of money. They have run out of one scent, three weeks before a handover, with no cheap rung left to top up from.

Why trust this guide
CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, does not sell finished candles, and does not manufacture the wax or blend the fragrance oils it stocks. A page written to maximise a production order would imply that bigger quantities unlock better rates. This one says there is no published rate above the listed packs, prices the ceiling by multiplication, shows that the vessel and the wax are each a bigger line than the fragrance, and warns against building a 700-unit line on an oil with one rung in stock — because a business whose year pours on schedule places the same order again.
Every price, pack, stock flag and specification comes from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing takes precedence. Loads, cure windows and flash points are quoted only where the listing states them: Royal Oud states a 10% maximum for candles, 6–10% as its effective range and a 72–96 hour cure, and refers to its SDS for IFRA category detail; Citronella states a 270°F flash point and 0% vanillin; Mahogany Shea and Spicy Raspberry state no load at all, and this guide says so rather than supplying one. No MOQ, lead time, courier, shipping rate, factory capacity, private-label service or contract-manufacturing service is claimed, because none is published. The four-week reorder window and the 3–5% spill allowance are stated planning assumptions. Unit counts and the sales split are a worked illustration, not a forecast, and no temperature or humidity figure is claimed for Vijayawada.

Frequently asked questions
How much fragrance oil does a 2,200-candle year need?
At an 8% load calculated on the finished candle, 14.24 kg for this two-line plan: 1,800 votives of 70 g at 5.6 g each is 10.08 kg, and 400 jars of 130 g at 10.4 g each is 4.16 kg. The wax alongside it is 163.76 kg — 115.92 kg for the votives and 47.84 kg for the jars. Buy 660 g of headroom on the oil to cover the 3–5% you should allow for spills and top-ups, and remember that the allowance is a planning figure until your own batch records replace it.
What is the largest fragrance pack I can put in a cart?
One kilogram. 1 kg is the largest fragrance pack listed anywhere in the range, offered on 87 of 107 fragrance listings. Four kilos of one scent is four bottles — ₹25,600 on Royal Oud, ₹11,564 on Citronella, ₹19,540.80 on Mahogany Shea at listed prices. How do I actually buy 164 kg of soy wax?
In bags, and more of them than you expect. On most soy waxes 10 kg is the largest listed pack — ₹5,074 on CSI 464, ₹5,999 on Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, ₹6,370 on Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 — and the per-kilo price is flat across 1 kg, 5 kg and 10 kg on CSI 464. The single exception is Natural Soy Pearl Wax at 50 kg for ₹21,240 (₹424.80 a kilo). So 164 kg is sixteen 10 kg bags plus four 1 kg bags at ₹83,213.60, or about ₹70,020 on Natural Soy Pearl — which is a wax change, and therefore a re-test.
What does a candle cost to make at this scale?
For the votive line, ₹89.13 to ₹106.53 of materials depending on the scent: wax ₹32.68, oil ₹16.19 to ₹33.59, wick ₹5.90, jar ₹31.86, sticker ₹2.50. For the 130 g gift jar with Royal Oud, ₹196.79: wax ₹60.69, oil ₹66.56, wick ₹9.44, vessel ₹57.60, sticker ₹2.50. Across 2,200 units the year averages ₹118.64. None of that includes labour, labels, boxes, breakage or the cost of holding stock, all of which belong in your selling price.
What should the reorder floor be for each scent?
You build one instead of asking for one. No lead time, courier or shipping rate is published, so choose your own planning window — four weeks is a reasonable starting assumption — and work out what each line burns in that window: 1,120 g of Mahogany Shea, 1,008 g of Spicy Raspberry, 672 g of Citronella, 624 g of Royal Oud, about 20 kg of wax. Reorder when stock falls below that, keep one unopened bottle per proven scent as untouchable floor stock, and set the floor higher on oils with no cheap smaller rung to top up from.
Is there equipment that speeds up pouring 2,200 candles?
No. There are no moulding, filling or wicking machines in the range, and no pre-tabbed wicks — the nearest listed equivalents are Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made, Eco Candle Wicks and a braided wick roll supplied with 100 separate wick tabs. What the equipment side does list is melting and finishing gear: electric wax melters, hot air guns, thermometers, scales, wicking needles and stirring tools. At 2,200 units a year your real constraint is pouring days rather than machinery, so plan the calendar as carefully as the materials.
