There is no single-note amber oil at CSI, and there is no single-note amber material anywhere — amber is an accord that perfumers build. CSI sells it two ways: Bergamot Amber Fragrance Oil and Amber Oud Royal. This page is the price arithmetic, the soy performance reason, and an honest answer about which one you should actually buy first.

per gram at 1 kg · Bergamot Amber against Amber Oud Royal · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
Does CSI sell a plain "Amber" fragrance oil? No, and neither does anyone else in a meaningful sense. Amber is a built accord — a warm, resinous structure assembled from several materials — so it always arrives paired with something. CSI stocks two ambers: Bergamot Amber Fragrance Oil and Amber Oud Royal.

What do they cost? Bergamot Amber runs ₹105.02 / 15g up to ₹5,437 / 1kg (₹5.44 per gram at the best tier). Amber Oud Royal runs ₹1,299 / 100g up to ₹11,640 / 1kg (₹11.64 per gram). Amber Oud Royal has no 15g and no 50g size — 100g is the smallest pack.

What does that mean per candle? On a 200g candle at an 8% load — 16g of oil — Bergamot Amber is ₹86.99 of fragrance and Amber Oud Royal is ₹186.24, both at 1kg pricing. A difference of ₹99.25 per candle.

Which should I start with? Bergamot Amber, at ₹105.02 for 15g. Trialling Amber Oud Royal costs ₹1,299 because there is no trial size, and we would rather you spent ₹105.02 finding out whether amber sells in your range at all.
The short answer
Amber is not a material, it is an accord. Warm, resinous, slightly sweet, built rather than extracted. That is why every amber on the market is "amber plus something" — and why hunting for a plain amber oil is a search that ends nowhere.
The two CSI ambers: Bergamot Amber Fragrance Oil — a bright bergamot top over a warm amber base, ₹105.02 / 15g to ₹5,437 / 1kg. Amber Oud Royal — the premium tier, ₹1,299 / 100g to ₹11,640 / 1kg, no trial size.
Why amber suits soy: resinous, heavier molecules evaporate steadily from soy's cooler melt pool instead of flashing off, so amber holds up where thin citrus and aquatic tops struggle.
The two CSI ambers — cost per gram at the best tier, and the cost of trying them PER GRAM AT 1 KG · SCALE ₹0 TO ₹13 Bergamot Amber · ₹5.44 / g Amber Oud Royal · ₹11.64 / g — 2.1× the cost of the same gram ₹0 ₹4 ₹8 ₹12 SMALLEST PACK YOU CAN BUY TO TRIAL IT · SCALE ₹0 TO ₹1,300 Bergamot Amber · 15 g · ₹105.02 Amber Oud Royal · smallest pack is 100 g · ₹1,299 — no 15 g and no 50 g size trial gap: ₹1,193.98
Two separate measurements, deliberately shown together. The top pair is what a gram costs once you are buying properly; the bottom pair is what it costs to find out whether you want to. Bergamot Amber is 2.1× cheaper per gram and lets you in for ₹105.02 instead of ₹1,299, because Amber Oud Royal starts at 100 g. Per-gram figures are the 1 kg price divided by 1,000. CSI live pricing, September 2026.
Straight answer
Where do you buy amber fragrance oil for candle making in India, and which one do you buy?
You buy one of two oils, because amber is an accord rather than a raw material and therefore never sold on its own. CSI stocks Bergamot Amber Fragrance Oil — a bright bergamot top sitting on a warm amber base — at ₹105.02 for 15g, ₹280 for 50g, ₹560 for 100g, ₹2,718 for 500g and ₹5,437 for 1kg, which is ₹5.44 a gram at the best tier. And it stocks Amber Oud Royal, the premium tier, at ₹1,299 for 100g, ₹5,999 for 500g and ₹11,640 for 1kg — ₹11.64 a gram, with no 15g or 50g size at all. On a 200g candle at an 8% load that is ₹86.99 of fragrance against ₹186.24. Start with Bergamot Amber. Trialling the premium oil costs ₹1,299 before you know whether amber sells in your range, and ₹105.02 answers the same question. Both work well in soy, because resinous amber molecules are heavy and evaporate steadily from a cool melt pool. Move up to Amber Oud Royal only when your retail price can absorb ₹99.25 more per candle.
One line: there is no plain amber oil — buy Bergamot Amber at ₹105.02/15g to find out whether amber sells for you, and buy Amber Oud Royal at ₹1,299/100g only once the retail price justifies ₹99.25 more per candle.
If you have never poured amber before, the whole decision costs ₹105.02. That is a 15g bottle of Bergamot Amber Fragrance Oil — roughly one 200g candle at 8%, which is exactly enough to burn, smell and decide.

What amber actually is, and why there is no plain amber oil

Every other week someone messages us asking for "just amber, nothing else in it". There is no such thing, and the reason is worth two minutes of your time.

Sandalwood is a material. Lavender is a material. You can point at the plant, the distillation and the resulting oil. Amber is not a material — it is an accord, which is the perfumer's word for a deliberate combination of ingredients that together read as one recognisable smell. Nobody harvests amber. Perfumers build it, typically from labdanum and benzoin-type resins, vanillic and balsamic notes, and warm woody-powdery materials, and the result is the thing your customer means when they say a candle smells "warm" or "expensive" without being able to name the scent.

Two consequences follow, and both of them matter commercially. The first is that every amber on every shelf in the world is amber-plus-something, because the accord is a base structure and a base structure needs a top. Amber and bergamot. Amber and oud. Amber and vanilla. Amber and leather. The pairing is not a marketing decision bolted onto a pure product; it is how the composition is finished. If you are hunting a bottle labelled only "Amber", you are hunting a product category that does not really exist, and you will waste weeks on it.

The second consequence is that ambers vary far more between suppliers than, say, lavenders do. Two lavender oils are two attempts at the same plant. Two ambers are two different constructions that happen to share a family name, so "amber" tells you almost nothing about what will come out of the bottle. This is why the sensible move is to buy the smallest size, pour one candle, and smell it — and why the difference between a ₹105.02 entry and a ₹1,299 entry is the single most important line on this page.

What to write on your label. Because amber is an accord, "Amber" alone is a weak product name on a shelf — it describes a feeling, not a scent your customer can picture. Name the pairing. "Bergamot & Amber" sells because the bergamot gives the nose something concrete to expect; "Amber Oud" sells because oud carries its own strong associations in the Indian market. A customer who can predict the smell from the label buys faster, and that is worth more than the word "amber" on its own ever was. Related: premium versus cheap fragrance oils.

Practically, then, the question "where do I buy amber fragrance oil in India" resolves to "which built amber do I buy". At CSI the answer is two products, and they sit at genuinely different price tiers rather than being two flavours of the same thing. The rest of this page is the arithmetic on both, and a decision rule for choosing between them. Everything is priced from the CSI fragrance oils collection, which holds 92 oils on the current pull.

The two CSI ambers, priced across every size

Full variant pricing for both, with per-gram cost worked out at every tier and a per-candle fragrance cost. Per-candle figures assume a 200g finished candle at an 8% fragrance load — 16g of oil, 184g of wax. If you pour at 10% the oil cost rises by a quarter; at 13% it rises by roughly 62%. Scale accordingly. CSI live pricing, September 2026; the linked product page is always authoritative.

Bergamot Amber Fragrance Oil
A bright bergamot top over a warm amber base — the classic construction, and the reason it works as a year-round seller rather than a purely festive one. The bergamot gives cold throw something legible to do on the shelf, and the amber base is what is still in the room two hours into the burn. It ships in all five sizes including a 15g trial bottle at ₹105.02, which makes it the cheapest possible way to find out whether amber has a place in your range at all.

Amber Oud Royal
The premium amber in the range, built around oud rather than citrus, and priced accordingly. Two things about it deserve to be said plainly before you reach for it. First, it starts at 100g — there is no 15g bottle and no 50g bottle, so the minimum commitment to try it is ₹1,299. Second, at ₹11.64 per gram it is 2.1 times the per-gram cost of Bergamot Amber, which is a real number in your unit economics, not a rounding difference. It earns that where the retail price is high enough to carry it — gifting sets, hampers, wedding orders and the top of a collection.

Argued against our own interest
We would make more money if you bought the ₹1,299 bottle today. We are telling you not to. Buy the ₹105.02 bottle of Bergamot Amber first. Pour one 200g candle, cure it properly, burn it, and see whether amber moves in your range — because the honest failure mode here is not "I bought the cheaper oil", it is "I spent ₹1,299 on a premium oud amber and discovered my customers buy florals". If amber does move, the 100g bottle is still there, and you will be spending that ₹1,299 on a question you already know the answer to.

Why amber carries well in soy — the actual mechanism

Amber is one of the more reliable families in soy wax, and the reason is physical rather than mystical. It is worth understanding properly, because the same reasoning tells you which other oils will behave and which will disappoint you.

Soy burns at a lower melt-pool temperature than paraffin. That cooler pool is the whole story. Fragrance leaves a candle by evaporating off the surface of the melt pool, and how readily a molecule evaporates depends on its volatility — lighter, smaller, more volatile molecules leave fast, heavier and less volatile ones leave slowly and steadily. In a hot paraffin pool there is enough thermal energy to lift almost anything, which is why makers moving from paraffin to soy so often report that the same oil "went quiet". In a cooler soy pool, the light material struggles to get airborne in useful quantity, while the heavy material carries on evaporating at a steady, low rate for hours.

Amber sits firmly in the second category. The accord is built from resinous and balsamic materials, which are large, heavy and comparatively non-volatile by design — they exist in perfumery precisely because they persist. In a soy candle that turns into an advantage: instead of a short bright burst that fades by the second hour, you get a release curve that is flatter and longer. That is what customers are describing when they say an amber candle "fills the room slowly" or "is still there when I come back in". It is not a stronger candle in any absolute sense. It is a candle whose scent is still being released at hour three.

This also explains the bergamot half of Bergamot Amber. Bergamot is a citrus top note: light, volatile, and exactly the kind of molecule a cool soy pool struggles to carry for long. That is not a flaw in the oil — it is a division of labour. The bergamot does the cold throw, which is what sells the candle in a shop, at a stall, or in a photograph before anyone lights anything. The amber does the hot throw, which is what makes the customer come back. A composition with a legible top and a substantial base outperforms one with only either, and that is the single most useful thing to understand about why ambers are almost always paired.

Practically, this means amber gives you room to work sensibly rather than aggressively. You do not need to push the fragrance load to the ceiling to get a result from a resinous oil, and the cure rewards patience — heavier oriental and woody families keep improving for two to three weeks after the pour, where a fresh citrus blend is usually settled sooner. If you judge an amber candle at 48 hours you will underrate it, blame the oil, and buy something worse. Give it the full cure before you decide anything. The wax matters too: Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 at ₹325/500g gives a fuller, rounder release that suits orientals particularly well, against Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at ₹299/500g and Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at ₹260/500g.

Fragrance load ceilings — stated by the wax maker
These are wax-manufacturer formulation limits, describing how much oil that particular wax will hold in solution. They are not regulatory limits and they do not replace your fragrance supplier's own documentation. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks: up to 13%. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464: up to 10%. Work to the number stated on the wax you actually bought — the two are not interchangeable. Past the ceiling the surplus oil does not bind: it separates, sweats to the surface and drowns the wick, giving you a weaker candle for more money. On Bergamot Amber at 1kg pricing, going from 8% to 13% on a 200g candle takes the fragrance cost from ₹86.99 to ₹141.36; on Amber Oud Royal it takes it from ₹186.24 to ₹302.64. CSI supplies GST invoicing, MSDS and IFRA documentation on request via WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

The price gap is the decision

₹5.44 a gram against ₹11.64 a gram. Everything else on this page is context; this is the number you are actually choosing between.

Per-gram costs are abstract, so convert them into the only unit that matters — the candle. On a 200g candle at an 8% load, which is 16g of oil, at 1kg pricing:

The difference is ₹99.25 per candle. Across a hundred candles that is ₹9,925; across a five-hundred-unit festive run it is ₹49,625. Against the full materials cost of the candle it is larger than it looks: ₹250.31 becomes ₹349.56, a 39.7% increase in what the candle costs you to make, from a single ingredient swap. That materials figure is 184g of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at ₹599/1kg (₹110.22), an Amber Shiny Glass Jar with Black Lid at ₹47.20, an Eco Candle Wick Thin (C1) at ₹5.90, and the oil. Packaging, labels, wastage and labour sit on top of all of it.

The decision rule
The premium amber is justified when ₹99.25 is a small fraction of your retail price — not when it is a large one.
Run the division. At ₹600 retail, the upgrade eats 16.5% of the sale price. At ₹1,200 it is 8.3%. At ₹1,800 it is 5.5%. Our working rule: if the ₹99.25 is above roughly 7% of your retail price, it is the wrong oil for that product — put Bergamot Amber in the core range and reserve Amber Oud Royal for the line that sells above about ₹1,400, where the extra cost disappears into the margin and the name on the label is doing commercial work.

There is a second, quieter argument for the cheaper oil, and it is not about price at all. A bergamot-over-amber composition is easier to sell to a customer who has never bought amber, because the bergamot gives them a handhold. Amber Oud Royal is a confident, unapologetic oriental; it will be the favourite scent of a smaller number of people and it will be their strong favourite. That is a perfectly good business — it is just a different one, with different volumes. Do not buy the premium oil because it is premium. Buy it because you have a product line that sells at a price where it belongs. If you are still working out those numbers, how to price candles in India in 2026 works through the whole calculation, and premium versus cheap fragrance oils covers what you do and do not get for a higher per-gram price.

Nobody has ever gone out of business buying the ₹105.02 bottle first.

Where amber sells in an Indian range

Amber has an unusually specific commercial position in the Indian market, and it is not the same position it holds in a Western range. Four places it earns its shelf space.

1
Festive — the warm-resinous expectationDiwali candles are expected to smell warm, resinous and slightly sweet, which is a near-exact description of the amber accord. That is why amber, oud, sandalwood and spice sell through October and early November while fresh and aquatic scents sit still. With Diwali falling on 8 November 2026, an amber poured in late September and cured to three weeks is comfortably ready. Festive bulk ordering is covered here.
2
Wedding and corporate gifting — where the premium tier paysThis is the one place Amber Oud Royal is straightforwardly the right answer. Hamper and wedding-favour orders are placed at a price per unit that absorbs ₹186.24 of fragrance without difficulty, the buyer is choosing on perceived luxury rather than on unit price, and "Amber Oud" reads as expensive on a card in a way that few other names do. Bulk quantities at 500g and 1kg pricing are a WhatsApp conversation.
3
Everyday gifting — where the volume actually isBirthday, housewarming and thank-you candles at mid price points are the bulk of most Indian candle businesses, and this is Bergamot Amber's territory. At ₹86.99 of fragrance per 200g candle it leaves room for decent glass, a proper label and a margin. The bergamot top also photographs well in copy — "bergamot" is a word people recognise and feel positive about.
4
The masculine and unisex end of the collectionMost Indian candle ranges are heavily floral and gourmand, which leaves a genuine gap. Amber, oud and woody-resinous scents are the reliable answer for customers buying for men, for offices and studios, and for anyone who finds rose and vanilla too sweet. If your range has no candle in this corner, an amber is the most efficient single addition — and it pairs naturally with Woody Oud, Sandalwood, Saffron Cedarwood and Dark Vanilla Oud in a three- or four-scent collection.
A three-candle warm collection, priced: Bergamot Amber at ₹5.44/g, Woody Oud at ₹4.53/g and Sandalwood at ₹5.03/g — three distinct warm scents for ₹86.99, ₹72.50 and ₹80.43 of fragrance per 200g candle at 8%. Add Amber Oud Royal at ₹186.24 as the single premium unit above them and you have a four-tier range with one obvious upsell. Buy the 15g sizes of the first three — ₹105.02, ₹93.22 and ₹93.22 — and the whole scent decision costs under ₹300.

Two practical notes on pouring amber. First, weigh the oil, do not measure it by volume: fragrance load is a weight percentage and oils differ in density, so millilitres will not give you a repeatable load. A candle making weighing scale at ₹354 and a pen thermometer at ₹354 are the two cheapest pieces of equipment that make an amber recipe reproducible. Second, expect some darkening of white wax with a resinous, vanillic accord over several weeks. It is cosmetic rather than a fault, and if it bothers you, an amber or black jar removes the problem entirely — which is one reason the Amber Shiny Glass Jar with Black Lid at ₹47.20 each is a sensible vessel for this family. Browse the full glass jar range before you commit to a diameter, because the jar sets the wick and the wick sets the melt pool.

Finally, on quantity. If amber works for you, the per-gram saving from stepping up a size is real but not dramatic on Bergamot Amber — ₹5.60 a gram at 100g against ₹5.44 at 1kg, a saving of about 2.9%. That is not a reason to buy a kilogram you cannot pour within a reasonable period. The bigger jump on Amber Oud Royal is from ₹12.99 at 100g to ₹11.64 at 1kg, about 10.4%, which is worth having if the volume is genuinely there. How much fragrance oil a candle business actually needs works through the quantity maths, and buying fragrance oils in bulk in India covers the ordering side.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. On a page like this one the commercially convenient move would be to sell you the ₹1,299 bottle, or to let you believe a plain "Amber" oil exists and quietly sell you something adjacent. We have done neither. CSI stocks exactly two ambers — Bergamot Amber Fragrance Oil and Amber Oud Royal — and this page recommends the cheaper one first, because a maker who wastes ₹1,299 on an untested scent direction is a maker who stops reordering.

Every price, size and per-gram figure quoted here is taken from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing and specification always take precedence. The 13% and 10% fragrance loads are the figures stated by the wax manufacturer for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 respectively; they are formulation limits describing how much oil each wax will hold, not regulatory limits, and they are not interchangeable between waxes. The CSI fragrance range holds 92 oils on the current pull.

Frequently asked questions

Does CandleMakingSuppliesIndia sell a plain Amber fragrance oil?
No. Amber is an accord, not a single raw material — perfumers build it from resinous, balsamic and warm woody materials, so it is always composed with something else on top. CSI stocks two ambers: Bergamot Amber Fragrance Oil, a bright bergamot top over a warm amber base, from ₹105.02 for 15g; and Amber Oud Royal, the premium oud-led tier, from ₹1,299 for 100g. If you are searching for a bottle labelled only "Amber", you are searching for a product category that does not really exist.
How much does amber fragrance oil cost in India?
At CSI, Bergamot Amber is ₹105.02 / 15g, ₹280 / 50g, ₹560 / 100g, ₹2,718 / 500g and ₹5,437 / 1kg — ₹5.44 per gram at the best tier. Amber Oud Royal is ₹1,299 / 100g, ₹5,999 / 500g and ₹11,640 / 1kg — ₹11.64 per gram, with no 15g or 50g size. On a 200g candle at an 8% load that is ₹86.99 of fragrance against ₹186.24. Prices are CSI live pricing, September 2026; the linked product pages are authoritative.
Which amber should I buy first?
Bergamot Amber, in the 15g size at ₹105.02. That is roughly one 200g candle at 8%, which is enough to pour, cure, burn and decide. Amber Oud Royal has no trial size, so the cheapest way to try it is the 100g bottle at ₹1,299 — ₹1,193.98 more to answer the same question. Move to Amber Oud Royal once you know amber sells in your range and you have a product line priced high enough to absorb ₹99.25 more per candle.
Does amber fragrance oil work well in soy wax?
Yes, and for a specific reason. Soy burns at a lower melt-pool temperature than paraffin, and fragrance evaporates from the surface of that pool. The resinous, balsamic materials that make up an amber accord are heavy and comparatively non-volatile, so they continue evaporating steadily from a cool pool rather than needing a hot one. That gives a flatter, longer release curve — the effect customers describe as a candle that keeps filling the room. Light citrus and aquatic top notes are the ones that struggle in soy, which is exactly why they are paired with a base.
What fragrance load should I use for an amber oil?
Work to the ceiling stated for your wax, and you rarely need to be at it. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks are rated by the manufacturer to up to 13%; Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 to up to 10%. These are wax formulation limits, not regulatory limits, and they are not interchangeable. Because amber is base-heavy it performs well without being pushed: 8% on a 200g candle is 16g of oil, ₹86.99 of Bergamot Amber. Going to 13% takes that to ₹141.36 — check the candle is holding it before you spend that on every unit.
How long should an amber candle cure before I judge it?
Give it the full two to three weeks. Resinous, oriental and woody families keep improving further into the cure than fresh or citrus blends do, so an amber candle judged at 48 hours will be underrated — and the usual outcome is that the maker blames the oil and buys something worse. Cure with lids on, in a closed carton, at room temperature and out of sunlight, then burn-test. Expect gradual darkening of white wax over that period; it is cosmetic, not a fault.
Do you have customer reviews for the amber oils?
Not yet, and we are not going to borrow someone else's. The six reviews at the top of this page are real published Judge.me reviews, but they were left on Woody Oud, Dark Vanilla Oud, Sacred Sandal Ember, Gardenia, Orchard Pear and Lavender — none of them is a review of Bergamot Amber or Amber Oud Royal. They are shown as evidence of general fragrance quality across the range, and the product each belongs to is printed under the reviewer's name. If you buy an amber and it works, a review is genuinely useful to the next person reading this page.

About this guide: Written by the CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA team. Product recommendations reflect the CSI range; the accord explanation, the soy volatility reasoning and the per-candle arithmetic apply to any supplier. CSI does not stock a single-note "Amber" fragrance oil, and this page names only the two ambers that exist: Bergamot Amber Fragrance Oil and Amber Oud Royal.

Customer reviews: The six reviews at the top of this page are genuine, published Judge.me reviews left by CSI customers on their product pages. Names, star ratings, dates and products are as recorded by Judge.me, and the "Verified buyer" badge appears only where Judge.me recorded the reviewer as a verified buyer — SUMAN BISHT's review is unbadged for that reason. The reviews belong to Woody Oud Fragrance Oil (Payal Patel, 5★, Mar 2026), Dark Vanilla Oud (SUMAN BISHT, 5★, Jul 2025), Sacred Sandal Ember (Urvashi Patel, 4★, Aug 2026), Gardenia Fragrance Oil (Sraddha, 5★, Mar 2025), Orchard Pear (Ranjita RAO, 5★, Feb 2026) and Lavender Fragrance Oil (Priyanka Purohit, 5★, Sep 2026). None of them is a review of an amber oil. One longer review is shortened with an ellipsis; wording is otherwise unedited.

Figures verified September 2026: Bergamot Amber Fragrance Oil ₹105.02 / 15g, ₹280 / 50g, ₹560 / 100g, ₹2,718 / 500g, ₹5,437 / 1kg (₹5.44/g at 1kg). Amber Oud Royal ₹1,299 / 100g, ₹5,999 / 500g, ₹11,640 / 1kg (₹11.64/g at 1kg); no 15g or 50g variant is stocked. Per-candle fragrance cost assumes a 200g finished candle at an 8% load — 16g oil, 184g wax — giving ₹86.99 for Bergamot Amber and ₹186.24 for Amber Oud Royal at 1kg pricing, a difference of ₹99.25. Total materials per candle adds 184g of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at ₹599/1kg (₹110.22), an Amber Shiny Glass Jar with Black Lid at ₹47.20 each (₹236 per pack of 5) and an Eco Candle Wick Thin (C1) at ₹5.90 each (₹590 per 100).
