CSI carries four separate cinnamons, not one. They are priced from ₹4.55 to ₹6.50 per gram, they smell nothing like each other, and the two blended ones are cheaper than the straight spice. This page is the selection decision, with every variant price and the per-candle cost of each.
₹4.55–₹6.50
per gram at 1kg across the four cinnamons · ₹72.88 to ₹103.98 of fragrance per 200g candle at 8% · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
Which cinnamon fragrance oil should I buy? CSI stocks four and they do four different jobs. Cinnamon Fragrance Oil is the straight spice; Spicy Cinnamon is hotter and sharper; Apple Cinnamon is the orchard blend and the one with real customer reviews; Cinnamon Vanilla is the sweetest and cheapest per gram.

What does cinnamon cost at CSI? At 1kg pricing: Cinnamon Vanilla ₹4.55/g, Apple Cinnamon ₹4.74/g, Cinnamon Fragrance Oil ₹5.31/g, Spicy Cinnamon ₹6.50/g. The two blends undercut the two straight spices.

What does that cost per candle? On a 200g candle at an 8% load — 16g of oil — it is ₹72.88, ₹75.90, ₹84.96 and ₹103.98 respectively. The spread between the cheapest and the dearest is ₹31.10 a candle.

Does cinnamon work in soy wax? Yes, better than most. Warm spice molecules are heavy and low in volatility, so they evaporate steadily from soy's cool melt pool instead of flashing off. Give it an 18–21 day cure.
The short answer
Four cinnamons, four jobs: Cinnamon Fragrance Oil (straight spice, ₹5.31/g) · Spicy Cinnamon (hotter, sharper, ₹6.50/g) · Apple Cinnamon (orchard blend, ₹4.74/g) · Cinnamon Vanilla (sweetest, ₹4.55/g).
The price finding: the blends are cheaper than the straight spice, not dearer. Cinnamon Vanilla at ₹4.55/g and Apple Cinnamon at ₹4.74/g both undercut Cinnamon Fragrance Oil at ₹5.31/g, and all three undercut Spicy Cinnamon at ₹6.50/g.
Buy one, not four. Trial the one that matches your range at 15g (₹93.22–₹116.00), pour a three-jar test, cure 18–21 days, then commit to a size. Four 1kg tins of cinnamon is ₹21,107.40 of stock deciding nothing.
The four CSI cinnamons ranked by cost per gram at 1kg — the blends sit below the spice Cinnamon Vanilla — blend · sweetest, softest edge₹4.55 / g Apple Cinnamon — blend · orchard fruit, 3 reviews₹4.74 / g Cinnamon Fragrance Oil — straight spice, bark₹5.31 / g Spicy Cinnamon — straight spice, hotter and sharper₹6.50 / g Spread: ₹1.95 per gram — ₹31.10 per 200g candle at 8% — ₹15,550 across a 500-candle festive run
Bar length is cost per gram at 1kg pricing, September 2026. The normal expectation is that a blended fragrance costs more than a single note, because it is a composition rather than an ingredient. In the CSI cinnamon range the opposite is true: both blends are cheaper per gram than either straight spice, and Cinnamon Vanilla — the sweetest of the four — is the cheapest thing on the chart.
Straight answer
Where do I buy cinnamon fragrance oil for candle making in India, and which one do I buy?
You buy it from the CSI fragrance oil collection, which holds 92 oils, four of them cinnamon. They are not interchangeable. Cinnamon Fragrance Oil is the straight bark note at ₹5.31 per gram at 1kg. Spicy Cinnamon is the hotter, sharper reading of the same idea at ₹6.50 per gram. Apple Cinnamon Fragrance Oil puts orchard fruit in front of the spice at ₹4.74 per gram, and it is the only cinnamon in the range with a body of published customer reviews. Cinnamon Vanilla is the sweetest and the cheapest at ₹4.55 per gram. On a 200g candle at an 8% load those are ₹84.96, ₹103.98, ₹75.90 and ₹72.88 of fragrance respectively. Cinnamon is a good soy fragrance because its molecules are heavy and slow to evaporate, so it holds up in a cool CSI 464 or Luxury Soy Chunks melt pool — but give it 18 to 21 days of cure. Buy one at 15g, pour three jars, and decide before the Diwali window closes.
One line: four cinnamons, ₹4.55 to ₹6.50 a gram, the blends cheaper than the spice — pick the one that matches your range, trial it at 15g, and cure it for three weeks.
Trialling costs less than guessing. Apple Cinnamon at ₹93.22 for 15g and Cinnamon Vanilla at ₹106.20 for 15g each pour three 60g test jars at an 8% load — 4.8g of oil per jar, 14.4g in total — which is all you need to judge cold throw, hot throw and discolouration. All four cinnamons ship in 15g, 50g, 100g, 500g and 1kg.

The price finding — the blends undercut the straight spice

A blend is a composition and a single note is an ingredient, so the blend should cost more. In the CSI cinnamon range it costs less, and by enough to matter.

Start with the arithmetic, because it points the opposite way to the obvious upsell. Ranked by cost per gram at 1kg pricing: Cinnamon Vanilla ₹4.55, Apple Cinnamon Fragrance Oil ₹4.74, Cinnamon Fragrance Oil ₹5.31, Spicy Cinnamon ₹6.50. Both blended cinnamons sit below both unblended ones.

The four cinnamons · ranked by cost per gram
CSI live pricing, September 2026 · per-candle figures are 16g of oil in a 200g candle at 8%
# Oil Character ₹/g at 1kg Per 200g candle 1kg price
1 Cinnamon Vanilla Blend · sweetest, softest edge ₹4.55 ₹72.88 ₹4,554.80
2 Apple Cinnamon Fragrance Oil Blend · orchard fruit over spice ₹4.74 ₹75.90 ₹4,743.60
3 Cinnamon Fragrance Oil Straight spice · bark, the reference cinnamon ₹5.31 ₹84.96 ₹5,310.00
4 Spicy Cinnamon Straight spice · hotter, sharper, more heat ₹6.50 ₹103.98 ₹6,499.00

The gap between top and bottom is ₹1.95 per gram — ₹31.10 on every 200g candle poured at 8%. Across a 500-unit festive run that is ₹15,550, roughly 3kg of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks plus a thousand Eco Candle Wicks, with change.

Do not read the price as a quality ranking. Spicy Cinnamon being dearest does not make it strongest, and Cinnamon Vanilla being cheapest does not make it weakest — the two oils with published customer reviews are the two cheapest in the table. Fragrance pricing reflects raw material and blend composition, not throw. Premium vs cheap fragrance oils covers that properly.

A second finding argues directly against selling you a kilo. Apple Cinnamon has no bulk discount. It is ₹4.7436 per gram at 50g and ₹4.7436 per gram at 1kg — ₹237.18, ₹474.36, ₹2,371.80 and ₹4,743.60 across the four sizes. If Apple Cinnamon is your pick, there is no financial reason to buy more than you will pour this quarter, and a real reason not to: oil in a warehouse is working capital that is not earning.

The other three do reward scale. Cinnamon Fragrance Oil holds at ₹5.90 per gram across both 100g and 500g and only drops to ₹5.31 at the kilo, so the 500g tin is poor value against the kilo. Spicy Cinnamon flattens at ₹6.50 from 500g. Cinnamon Vanilla steps down at every size — ₹7.08, ₹5.43, ₹4.84, ₹4.60, ₹4.55 — the only one of the four where each larger pack genuinely improves the rate. Bulk-buying logic here; how much oil a business needs here.

How to read the per-candle column
Every per-candle figure here assumes a 200g candle at an 8% load — 16g of oil, 184g of wax — costed at the oil’s 1kg rate. At 10% the oil cost rises by a quarter; at the 13% ceiling stated for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks it rises by 62.5%. Those ceilings — up to 13% for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, up to 10% for Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 — are the wax manufacturer’s stated formulation limits, not regulatory limits.

Straight spice · the reference cinnamon
Cinnamon Fragrance Oil
Cinnamon without an argument attached — warm bark, dry, no fruit or sugar in front of it. Buy it if the label says "Cinnamon" and the customer expects exactly that, or if you blend your own compositions, because a clean single note is a building block and a finished blend is not. At ₹5.31 per gram at 1kg it sits mid-range. Note the shape: ₹5.90 per gram holds flat across 100g and 500g, so the saving is entirely in the kilo.

Spicy Cinnamon
The same family at a higher temperature — more heat, a sharper edge, less soft bark. It suits a range that wants to be noticed rather than comforting: masculine gifting, a candle holding its own next to food smells in an Indian kitchen, a winter collection with clove and pepper in it. It is the most expensive of the four at ₹6.50 per gram, and the only one where the 100g rate (₹6.99/g) is marginally worse than 50g (₹6.98/g). Skip the 100g — trial at 50g, produce at 500g.

Apple Cinnamon Fragrance Oil
Apple in front, cinnamon behind. The fruit does the introduction and the spice does the staying — a sensible structure for a candle: something legible for cold throw on the shelf, something heavy underneath it for hot throw in the room. It is ₹4.74 per gram at 50g, 100g, 500g and 1kg alike, so you can buy small without being penalised. It is also the only cinnamon at CSI with a body of published customer reviews.

Cinnamon Vanilla
Vanilla takes the edge off the spice and leaves the warmth. The softest of the four, and the easiest to sell to someone who says they dislike cinnamon — what most people dislike is the dry heat, not the warmth. It is a gourmand as much as a spice, in the same bracket as Vanilla Bean at ₹7.65 per gram, at ₹4.55 per gram — ₹3.10 a gram less. Expect gradual darkening of white wax over the cure. Two published reviews.

Cinnamon needs a wax with headroom and a wick that opens the pool. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks from ₹299/500g carry a stated ceiling of up to 13%; CSI 464 flakes from ₹260/500g are stated up to 10%. Both are formulation limits set by the wax maker, not regulatory limits.

Why cinnamon carries in soy wax

Soy burns at a cooler pool temperature than paraffin, which punishes light fragrances and rewards heavy ones. Cinnamon is heavy.

Fragrance leaves a candle by evaporating from the surface of the melt pool, and how readily a molecule evaporates depends on its weight and volatility. A soy pool runs cooler than a paraffin one, so it supplies less energy to push molecules into the air, and light volatile top notes — citrus, aquatic, sharp green — under-perform without it. Warm spice molecules sit at the other end of the scale: relatively heavy, low in volatility, content to evaporate steadily from a cool surface over a long burn. That is why cinnamon, clove, vanilla, sandalwood and oud reliably read as strong in soy while a thin lemon fades.

Be precise about what that promises. It does not mean cinnamon hits harder in the first ten minutes — heavy molecules fill a room more slowly. It means the release does not fall away: an hour in, the candle is still doing what it was doing at twenty minutes. Steady beats sudden across an evening.

Do not judge a cinnamon candle at 48 hours. Fresh and citrus blends are usually settled at 14 days, florals at 14 to 18, and spice, gourmand and woody oils at 18 to 21. A candle burn-tested two days after pouring reads thin and raw, and the maker blames the oil. Cure with lids on, in a closed carton, at room temperature, out of direct sunlight, and test on day 18. Almost every "this cinnamon is weak" verdict is a calendar problem.

Load: work to the ceiling stated on the wax you bought, not a number from a maker group. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks are rated by the manufacturer up to 13%; Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 flakes up to 10%. Those are the maximum quantities of oil each wax is formulated to hold in solution — formulation limits, different per wax. Because cinnamon carries well you rarely need the ceiling: 8% is a sensible production load for a spice, and it is what every cost figure here is built on.

Temperature and stirring: Eco Soy CSI 400 specifies adding fragrance at 80–90°C with two full minutes of stirring, and CSI 464 states melt and pour in the same band. Oil that is dispersed rather than dissolved migrates during the cure and shows on the surface. Wick: the melt pool is the release surface, so a wick that never opens the pool to the glass throws away release area whichever cinnamon is in the jar. Eco Candle Wicks ship in Thin (C1) at ₹5.90 each and Thick (C2) at ₹9.44 each — burn both, keep the one that reaches the wall in two to three hours without soot.

Wax choice for a cinnamon range
Stated ceilings and what each wax does for a warm spice
Wax Best for a cinnamon candle Stated load From
Luxury Soy Wax Chunks The most headroom in the soy range if you want to push a spice above 10% Up to 13% ₹299 / 500g
Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (flakes) Single-pour containers with a clean top — the default for a gifting jar Up to 10% ₹260 / 500g
Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 A fuller, rounder release; the upgrade tier for gourmand cinnamons like Cinnamon Vanilla Standard ₹325 / 500g
Eco Soy CSI 400 Small batches and trials; fragrance in at 80–90°C with two minutes of stirring Standard ₹399 / 1kg

One cosmetic warning. Cinnamon Vanilla contains vanilla, and vanilla-family oils commonly darken white or cream wax over the cure. It is a characteristic of the material, not a fault. Plan for it: pour into amber, black or frosted vessels from the container collection, or add a deliberate colour with a liquid candle dye. A cream candle that arrives beige four weeks later generates returns; a deliberately amber one does not.

Working back from Diwali, 8 November 2026

Warm spice is a seasonal commercial category in India, and the season has a deadline you can calculate rather than guess.

Cinnamon is not an all-year seller in most Indian ranges. It is a Q4 and Q1 fragrance — Diwali, winter gifting and the wedding season — running from late October to February. Plan the purchase backwards from a date: a spice candle poured too late arrives after the customer has bought someone else's.

1
8 November 2026 — DiwaliThe end point, not the working date. Festive candle buying in India concentrates in the two to three weeks before, so stock has to be with stockists, in hampers or in customers' hands well before the day.
2
25 October — stock must be deliveredWork to a fortnight of selling time. Anything arriving in the first week of November catches the tail of the rush at best. Shipping interstate, add the transit days you actually experience, not the ones you hope for.
3
4 October — last sensible pour dateTwenty-one days of cure before that 25 October delivery, which is what a spice wants. Pour on 4 October and the candle is settled on the day it ships. Pour on 20 October and you are shipping an unfinished product.
4
Late September — oil, wax, jars and wicks in handEverything present before the pour, with a few days of slack for a supply problem. This is the decision date, and it quietly sets whether the Diwali range happens at all.
5
The honest problem with that scheduleA proper trial — pour, cure 18 days, burn-test, decide — needs three weeks of its own, before step 4. Read this in late September and that sequence no longer fits in front of Diwali. Run the trial and the production batch in parallel on the same oil, or reduce the risk with a cinnamon that already has customer reviews behind it. Full festive ordering timeline here.

If Diwali is already too close, the season does not end there. Winter gifting runs through December and January, and warm spice is the correct fragrance for it in a way it is not in April. Same arithmetic backwards from a 20 December delivery: dispatch by 15 December, pour by 24 November, oil in hand by mid-November — comfortably open. Wedding season runs November into February and is the largest opportunity for bulk favour orders in the Indian market: 200 to 500 small candles to one buyer, one invoice, one fragrance decision. A spice reads as celebratory, and it does not date the way a trend fragrance does.

One fragrance, three seasons
The strongest argument for cinnamon over a novelty seasonal scent is that the same oil sells into Diwali, winter gifting and weddings without repositioning — three demand peaks off one purchase decision, one cure schedule and one set of label artwork. Four cinnamons spread your stock across four SKUs competing for the same shelf. Festive bulk ordering here; candle pricing for 2026 here.

Pick one. Do not buy all four

We sell all four and it would suit us for you to buy all four. Do not. Four 1kg tins of cinnamon is ₹21,107.40 of working capital tied to a decision you have not made, and it will not tell you which one sells — it gives you four part-used tins, four label designs, four cure schedules and a shelf where your own products compete. A range with one confident cinnamon outsells a range with four hesitant ones.

Decision rules
Match the oil to what you already sell, then stop looking
If your range is… Buy Because
Traditional, festive, label says "Cinnamon" Cinnamon Fragrance Oil The customer expects the single note and gets exactly it · ₹84.96 per candle
Bold, masculine, clove and pepper alongside Spicy Cinnamon More heat and a sharper edge; holds up against competing smells · ₹103.98
Home, hamper, hospitality, mass gifting Apple Cinnamon Fragrance Oil The most broadly liked of the four, and the one with three published reviews · ₹75.90
Sweet, gourmand, sits next to vanilla and coffee Cinnamon Vanilla Softest and cheapest per gram; converts people who dislike dry spice · ₹72.88

Then trial properly, because a 15g bottle is the cheapest insurance in this business. Buy one 15g size — ₹93.22 to ₹116.00. Pour three identical 60g test jars at 8%: 4.8g of oil each, 14.4g in total, so one bottle covers the whole test. Vary one thing only — wick size is usually the right variable. Label each jar with the date, load and wick, leave them lidded in a carton for eighteen days, then smell them cold and burn them, assessing at thirty minutes and two hours in a closed unscented room.

The mistake is testing the fragrance and the recipe at once. Change the oil, the wick and the wax in the same round of jars and a good result teaches you nothing reproducible. Hold the wax, vessel, load, pour temperature and cure constant, move one variable, write down what happened. That record is what lets you scale from 50 candles to 500 without the product changing underneath you.

The size decision is arithmetic, not instinct. Take the number of cinnamon candles you can actually sell this season, multiply by 16g, and buy the smallest size that covers it. A hundred candles is 1.6kg, so two kilos. Fifty is 800g — a 500g tin plus a 100g. Twenty is 320g, which is a 500g tin with room to spare, not a kilo. Buying a kilo to save ₹0.59 a gram and then pouring 200g of it is not a saving, and for Apple Cinnamon there is no per-gram saving above 50g at all.

The CSI principle
Four cinnamons is a choice, not a shopping list.
The range exists so that a traditional brand, a bold brand, a gifting brand and a gourmand brand can each find their cinnamon. It does not exist so that one brand can buy four. Decide what your candle is, buy that oil, and put the other ₹15,000 into wax, jars and packaging — which is where a festive run actually runs short.

Then document it, because that is what turns one good batch into a product. Record the wax and its batch, the oil and size, the load as a percentage and in grams, the add temperature, the stir time, the pour temperature, the vessel and its internal diameter, the wick, the pour and burn-test dates, and what you observed. Eleven fields, one sheet per scent, filled in at the bench. When a customer reorders in January, that sheet is the difference between "yes" and "roughly". The wholesale buyer's guide covers what documentation to ask for.

Four cinnamons in stock is a service to four different brands. It is not an instruction to any one of them.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. This page recommends buying one cinnamon rather than four, names the cheapest of the four as a genuinely good buy, and points out that Apple Cinnamon has no bulk discount — an argument against selling you a kilogram of it. We publish that because a maker with four part-used tins and no clear bestseller stops reordering, and reorders are the business.

Every price, size and per-gram figure here is taken from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing and specification take precedence. The reviews quoted are real, published Judge.me reviews from CSI product pages; the three for Apple Cinnamon and the two for Cinnamon Vanilla are the only published reviews the cinnamon range carries, and we have not invented any for the two that have none. The 13% and 10% figures are the wax manufacturers' stated maximum fragrance loads — formulation limits, not regulatory limits, and not interchangeable between waxes.

For bulk pricing on any of the four, GST invoicing, MSDS and IFRA documentation, or help matching a wick to a jar diameter, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926. There are 92 oils in the CSI fragrance collection if none of these four is the one.

Frequently asked questions

Which cinnamon fragrance oil is best for candle making in India?
It depends on the range you are building, because CSI stocks four and they are not substitutes. Cinnamon Fragrance Oil at ₹5.31 per gram is the straight bark note. Spicy Cinnamon at ₹6.50 is hotter and sharper. Apple Cinnamon at ₹4.74 is the most broadly liked and the only one with three published reviews. Cinnamon Vanilla at ₹4.55 is the sweetest and cheapest. Buy a 15g of the one that matches what you already sell before committing to a production size.
How much does cinnamon fragrance oil cost in India?
At CSI, September 2026: 15g from ₹93.22 to ₹116.00 and 1kg from ₹4,554.80 to ₹6,499.00. Per gram at 1kg: ₹4.55 Cinnamon Vanilla, ₹4.74 Apple Cinnamon, ₹5.31 Cinnamon Fragrance Oil, ₹6.50 Spicy Cinnamon. On a 200g candle at an 8% load — 16g of oil — that is ₹72.88, ₹75.90, ₹84.96 and ₹103.98 of fragrance per candle. All four ship in 15g, 50g, 100g, 500g and 1kg.
Why is apple cinnamon cheaper than plain cinnamon?
Because fragrance pricing follows raw material and blend composition, not the number of notes in the name. Apple Cinnamon is ₹4.74 per gram against ₹5.31 for Cinnamon Fragrance Oil, and Cinnamon Vanilla is cheaper still at ₹4.55. Do not read that as a quality ranking — the two cheapest cinnamons are the two carrying published reviews. Judge throw by pouring a test jar and curing it, not from the price list.
Does cinnamon fragrance oil work well in soy wax?
Yes — one of the more reliable families in soy. A soy pool runs cooler than a paraffin one, which under-serves light volatile top notes. Warm spice molecules are comparatively heavy and low in volatility, so they evaporate steadily from that cooler surface and the release holds up across a long burn. Work to the ceiling stated on your wax — up to 13% for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, up to 10% for CSI 464 flakes — though 8% is a sensible production load for a spice.
How long should a cinnamon candle cure?
Eighteen to twenty-one days. Spice, gourmand and woody families keep developing longer than fresh and citrus ones, which are usually settled at 14 days. Cure with lids on, in a closed carton, at room temperature, out of direct sunlight. Do not judge at 48 hours — the oil gets blamed for a calendar problem. When should I order cinnamon oil for Diwali 2026?
Diwali falls on 8 November 2026. Working backwards: deliver by around 25 October to catch the buying fortnight, so pour by about 4 October for a full 21-day cure, so oil, wax, jars and wicks in hand by late September. A trial pour and cure adds three weeks in front of that. If it no longer fits, run the trial and the production batch in parallel — and remember winter gifting in December and January and the November-to-February wedding season sell the same oil.
