How much wax and fragrance? At 8%, 184 g of wax and 16 g of oil per 200 g candle. For 1,051 with 3% loss: 199,185.52 g of wax and 17,320.48 g of fragrance.
How many wicks? One per poured candle, rejects included, plus about 5% for wicks spoiled while setting: 1,104. One 1,000-pack plus 1 × 100-pack + 1 × 10-pack = 1,110 Eco Thin C1 wicks for ₹6,549.00.
What do the rejects cost? About 42 candles at ₹273.91 of material each, roughly ₹11,504.14. Remelting can recover some wax and oil, not the wicks, and only sometimes the jars. See the cost of rejects.
Divide by the pass rate, do not multiply
If you pour P candles and 4% fail, you keep 0.96 × P. To keep 1,005, P must be 1,005 ÷ 0.96 = 1046.88, so 1,047. Multiplying 1,005 by 1.04 gives 1045.2, rounded up to 1,046, and 4% of 1,046 failing leaves you with 1004 good candles, one short of what you need. At 4% the gap is one candle. At higher reject rates, typical of a new jar, a new wax or a new team, it grows quickly.

At 2% the two methods agree. At 20%, which is not unusual for a first run in an unfamiliar container, multiplying leaves you dozens of candles short. The rule is simple and worth memorising: production = good needed ÷ (1 − reject rate), rounded up. Then add pre-production tests, which sit outside the reject rate because they are poured before production starts, and then add pour loss to the material.
What a reject consumes
A rejected candle is a finished candle that failed inspection. It used everything a good one did. What you can get back depends on why it failed and when you noticed.

Plan every reject as fully consumed. If you manage to remelt the wax and clean some jars, that is a saving on the next order, not a reason to buy less for this one. Remelted, already-scented wax is also not the same as fresh wax at 8%: some makers blend it back in small proportions and retest, others use it for their own testers. Decide how you will handle it before the run, not after.

Wax. 199,185.52 g is about 19.9 bags of 10 kg. The listed Chunks bags stop at 10 kg: 20 × 10 kg is ₹1,19,980.00, and 40 × 5 kg would be ₹1,19,800.00, ₹180.00 less, because the 5 kg bag is ₹599.00 a kilo against ₹599.90 for the 10 kg. At 200 kg, ask for a quote on WhatsApp; no volume discount is published, so do not assume one. Chunks are rated up to 13% fragrance load, well above 8%.
Fragrance. 17,320.48 g of Bergamot Amber rounds to 17 × 1 kg + 3 × 100 g + 2 × 15 g, ₹94,319.04. Bergamot Amber is ₹5.44 a gram at both 500 g and 1 kg, and ₹5.60 at 100 g, so the kilo bottles carry the order. Seventeen kilos of one oil is well past the listed 1 kg pack, so this is another line to quote on WhatsApp and to confirm in stock before you accept the order. Jars. White Matte Glass Jars at ₹354.00 for 5, 1,073 needed including 2% for glass broken in handling. The jar's fill weight is not published; weigh a 200 g test pour.

Each extra point of reject rate costs roughly eleven candles' worth of every material on a 1,000-candle order. That is why a pilot batch pays for itself: if a 50-candle pilot shows your real rate is 2%, not 8%, you avoid buying for 67 candles you will never need, about ₹16,882.04 at listed prices.
The cost of rejects, and what remelting recovers
One candle here costs ₹86.99 of Bergamot Amber at the kilo rate, ₹110.22 of wax, ₹70.80 for the jar and ₹5.90 for the wick: ₹273.91 of material. About 42 rejects therefore cost about ₹11,504.14. If you can remelt all their wax and oil cleanly, you recover up to ₹8,282.74 of that as wax you can use again; the wicks are gone, and the jars come back only if they clean up without chips or residue. Bringing the reject rate down
The cheapest material is the material you do not have to buy for rejects. These are general practice, not CSI measurements, and each is worth testing in your own setup.
