Candle Supplier Guides · Wicks
Buy the sample. On CSI's cotton wicks the per-piece rate is identical at 20 pieces and at 1,000, so the only thing a 1,000-piece order buys before testing finishes is 980 pieces of an unapproved specification — and ₹9,251.20 less cash in the business.

what the 1,000-piece pack saves you per wick against the 20-piece pack · ₹9.44 a Thick (C2) wick at both · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
Should I buy 20–50 sample wicks before ordering 1,000? Yes, and on CSI's cotton wicks it costs you nothing to do so. Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) is ₹9.44 a piece at every pack size from 10 to 1,000, so the 20-piece pack at ₹188.80 and the 1,000-piece pack at ₹9,440.00 carry the identical unit rate. Sampling forfeits no saving whatsoever.

What does the 1,000-piece pack actually get me, then? Pieces, and nothing else. It is ₹9,251.20 more cash today than the 20-piece pack, which on the costing below is about 35.30 test candles of wax, oil, jars and wicks — the material you need to finish the testing that would tell you whether those 1,000 pieces are the right ones.

Is a 20-piece pack enough to finish burn testing? For one or two candidates, usually yes, because the wick is not the line that runs out. At 150 g of total fill a 1 kg wax pack pours about 7.20 candles and a 100 gm oil pack covers about 9.00 — so a sample run is limited by wax, oil and glass long before it is limited by twenty wicks.

Does any CSI wick get cheaper in a bigger pack? One family does. Performance Wooden Wicks run ₹59.00 each in the Pack of 10 and ₹41.30 each in the Pack of 100, a fall of 30.00% that the pack names themselves advertise. The three cotton families do not move at all.
The short answer
Sample, because waiting costs nothing: Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) is ₹9.44 a piece whether you buy twenty or a thousand, and Thin (C1) is ₹5.90 on the same terms; Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made is ₹12.00 throughout.
Buy the pack, not the piece count: the honest question is not how many wicks but which pack. Twenty pieces of C2 is ₹188.80 and twenty of C1 is ₹118.00; together they are 12.04% of the sample order below, and they hold forty pieces for a run that can pour seven candles.
Fill reading, stated once: every figure on this page is built on 150 g of total fill at 8% of wax weight — 138.89 g of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 plus 11.11 g of Dark Vanilla Fragrance, which is ₹262.09 a candle with the jar and one C2 wick.

What it shows: the live per-piece rate of every CSI wick family across every pack size it is sold in. The three cotton families draw as flat lines because they are flat — the same rupees per wick at ten pieces and at a thousand — and Performance Wooden Wicks are the one family whose rate falls, by 30.00% from the Pack of 10 to the Pack of 100, which the pack names advertise. Deliberately left out: any burn observation, because CSI publishes no burn times, melt-pool diameters, flame heights or consumption rates and none exists in our data; and any diameter-to-wick sizing chart, because no CSI wick page publishes one.
Straight answer
I think I know roughly which wick size I need. Should I buy a 20–50 piece sample pack first, or go straight to 1,000 pieces?
Buy the sample pack, and buy it without the slightest feeling that you are paying a penalty for caution — because on CSI's cotton wicks you are not. Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) is ₹9.44 a piece at every pack size the page sells, so twenty pieces is ₹188.80 and a thousand pieces is ₹9,440.00 at exactly the same unit rate. Thin (C1) behaves identically at ₹5.90, and Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made is ₹12.00 a piece from its smallest pack to its largest. The ordinary commercial reason to commit early — a better rate at volume — simply is not on the table for cotton. What the 1,000-piece pack does buy is ₹9,251.20 less cash in your business today than the 20-piece pack, and 980 pieces of a specification that has not yet passed a burn test. On the costing used throughout this page — 150 g of total fill at 8% of wax weight, which is 138.89 g of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 and 11.11 g of Dark Vanilla Fragrance poured into the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid, whose page publishes a 150 g fill capacity, a 7 cm outer rim and a 6.5 cm base — one test candle is ₹262.09 of material, of which the wick is 3.60%. That ₹9,251.20 is therefore about 35.30 test candles: the exact material you need to find out whether the thousand pieces are the right thousand. There is one honest exception in the range. Performance Wooden Wicks fall from ₹59.00 each in the Pack of 10 to ₹41.30 each in the Pack of 100, 30.00% lower, and the pack names say so — that family is the only one where volume genuinely changes the number, and it still does not change the advice, because an unvalidated hundred-pack is a larger loss than a validated one. The second thing worth knowing before you place anything is that the wick is almost never the line that limits a sample run. At this fill a 1 kg wax pack pours about 7.20 candles and a 100 gm oil pack covers about 9.00, while twenty wicks cover twenty single-wick candles. Your sample order is constrained by wax, fragrance and glass; the wick pack is 7.41% of it. Last, and this page will not pretend otherwise: there is no burn figure anywhere on it. CSI publishes no burn times, melt-pool diameters, flame heights, consumption rates or soot measurements for any wick in the range, none exists in our data, and no CSI wick page publishes a diameter-to-wick sizing chart — so what a sample pack buys you is your own evidence, which is the only kind that ends this question.
One line: Sample first — cotton wicks are ₹9.44 a Thick (C2) piece at twenty and at a thousand, so the 1,000-pack buys you no better rate, only ₹9,251.20 less cash and 980 pieces of an unapproved specification.
Sampling before you commit? Start with the two pre-tabbed cotton grades and nothing else. Eco Candle Wicks (Thick (C2) / 20 Wicks) ₹188.80; the Thin (C1) 20-pack is ₹118.00 · Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (Pack of 10) · Candle Wick Stickers so every tab is seated the same way. The per-piece rate is identical in the smallest pack and the largest, so a sample order forfeits nothing.
Shop candle wicks

The usual reason to order a thousand does not exist on cotton wicks

Every other raw material teaches you that caution has a price. Cotton wicks do not.

The question in the title carries a hidden premise, and the premise is wrong. It assumes that the 1,000-piece pack is cheaper per wick, so that sampling means paying a surcharge for your own uncertainty. Run the ladder and that premise disappears. Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) is ₹9.44 a piece in the 10-piece pack, the 20, the 50, the 100, the 500 and the 1,000 — six pack sizes, one rate, to the paisa. Thin (C1) is ₹5.90 on the same six rungs. Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made is ₹12.00 from its Pack of 10 to its Pack of 1,000. Three families, fifteen pack sizes between them, and not one paisa of movement.

This is unusual enough to be worth stating plainly rather than burying in a table, because it inverts the normal commercial instinct. With most inputs, the maker who waits to be sure pays for the privilege, and the maker who commits early is rewarded. Here the waiting is free. The only thing you give up by buying twenty pieces instead of a thousand is the thousand pieces — and you give up nothing at all on the price of each one.

CSI live pricing, September 2026, taxes included.

The wooden line is the only honest exception and it deserves its sentence rather than a footnote. Performance Wooden Wicks are ₹59.00 each in the Pack of 10, ₹47.20 each in the Pack of 50 and ₹41.30 each in the Pack of 100 — a 30.00% fall, advertised in the variant names themselves. If your candidate is a wooden wick then volume does change your number, and the arithmetic of that trade-off is a question of its own. What it does not change is the sequence: an unvalidated Pack of 100 at ₹4,130.00 is a bigger thing to be wrong about than an unvalidated Pack of 10 at ₹590.00. The fall rewards certainty; it does not create it.

Holding off a wick order to “get to the volume price” is waiting for something that is not coming. The pattern looks sensible from the inside: delay the wick purchase, finish other testing, then place one big order and capture the break. On cotton there is no break to capture — ₹9.44 a Thick (C2) wick is the price at twenty pieces and at a thousand. What the delay actually buys is a stalled test programme, and the wick is the cheapest thing in that programme at 3.60% of a test candle. Order the small pack today and keep the testing moving.
ASK, DO NOT ASSUME
Published pack pricing is what is published. If you are planning a quantity beyond the pack sizes on the page, or you want a quote against a specific production schedule, that conversation happens on WhatsApp +91 7397976926, and GST invoicing, MSDS and IFRA documentation come the same way. What you should not do is assume an unpublished rate exists and plan a cash position around it.

What twenty to fifty sample wicks actually buy, and what they do not

The wick pack is never the constraint. It is simply the line people think about first, because it is the line in the title.

A sample order is not twenty candles. It is however many candles your wax, your fragrance and your glass will stretch to, and on this costing that number is seven. Here is the candle the whole page is built on: 150 g of total fill at 8% of wax weight, which divides into 138.89 g of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 and 11.11 g of Dark Vanilla Fragrance, poured into the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid and wicked with one Thick (C2). State the reading out loud every time, because “a 150 g candle” can also mean 150 g of wax plus oil on top, which would be 162 g poured and 12 g more than the capacity this jar's page publishes.

Cost per test candle
One test candle, materials from CSI, and what each line is worth

Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid 1 piece ₹94.40 each ₹94.40 36.02%
Dark Vanilla Fragrance 11.11 g ₹7.90/g ₹87.78 33.49%
Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 138.89 g ₹507.40/kg ₹70.47 26.89%
Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) 1 piece ₹9.44 each ₹9.44 3.60%
One test candle 150 g fill — ₹262.09 100%
Priced above: Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 1 kg ₹507.40 (₹507.40 per kilogram); Dark Vanilla Fragrance 100 gm ₹790.00 (₹7.90 per gram); Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid Pack of 10 ₹944.00 (₹94.40 each); Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) ₹9.44 a piece. Fill reading used throughout: 150 g of total fill with the fragrance at 8% of wax weight, dividing into 138.89 g of wax and 11.11 g of oil. Excluded because CSI does not sell or price them: labels, boxes, mailers, ribbon and courier to your own customer — each is your own figure to add. CSI live pricing, September 2026, taxes included.

Now put the pack beside the candle. Twenty Thick (C2) wicks cost ₹188.80. Twenty of these candles cost ₹5,241.80 of material. The pack is 3.60% of the candles it would wick — and that is the same 3.60% the single wick is of the single candle, for the unremarkable reason that twenty candles take twenty wicks. The wick pack is not a meaningful fraction of a sample programme at any pack size you might reasonably choose, which is precisely why choosing the smallest one saves almost nothing and choosing a generous one costs almost nothing.

So what does the sample pack actually buy? One thing, and it is the only thing that will end the question in the title: evidence you produced yourself. No CSI wick page publishes a diameter-to-wick sizing table, no burn figure exists in our data for any wick in the range, and a jar's published dimensions are an outside measurement — this one gives a 7 cm outer rim and a 6.5 cm base, and the wax surface inside sits between the two. A 7 cm circle is 38.48 cm² and an 8 cm circle is 50.27 cm², which is 30.61% more surface for a flame to clear, so a centimetre of diameter is not a detail. That geometry narrows your starting point. It does not decide anything. Twenty wicks and seven candles decide it.

BUY BOTH GRADES, NOT ONE
The single most common sampling mistake is buying one grade because you are fairly confident which one you need. The pre-tabbed cotton range has exactly two sizes, so if your confident grade is wrong your next move is the other one — and finding that out in week three costs you a fresh order and another cure. Both 20-packs together are ₹306.80, which is 12.04% of the sample order below. Buy the pair.

Which pack to buy at sample scale, and what is on the shelf

The useful question is not how many pieces. It is which pack, and whether that pack is there.

Cotton pack sizes run 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1,000 on Eco Candle Wicks and 10, 50, 100, 500 and 1,000 on Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made. Because the rate does not move, the choice between them is purely a question of how many pieces you want sitting in a drawer, and the only cost of a larger pack is the cash it holds. That makes the sample decision unusually simple: take the smallest pack that comfortably covers the test you have written down, and buy a second line rather than a bigger one if you need two grades.

Two practical points about availability, stated plainly because a page that tells you to sample should tell you what sampling you can actually do. The C1 10-piece pack is not currently available, so the smallest Thin (C1) pack you can place is the 20 at ₹118.00; the larger C1 packs are held in modest numbers. Thick (C2) is well stocked at every pack size, which makes it the easier grade to plan a programme around. Check the product page before you build a schedule on a pack — it is authoritative, this page is a snapshot, and availability moves.

Packs at sample scale
What each cotton sample pack costs and covers
Pack Price Per piece Single-wick candles it covers Notes
Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) / 10 Wicks ₹94.40 ₹9.44 10 The floor. Leaves no margin for a misfire
Thick (C2) / 20 Wicks ₹188.80 ₹9.44 20 The working sample pack
Thick (C2) / 50 Wicks ₹472.00 ₹9.44 50 Sensible once a jar is settled and you expect repeats
Thin (C1) / 20 Wicks ₹118.00 ₹5.90 20 The smallest C1 pack available
Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made (Pack of 10) ₹120.00 ₹12.00 10 Its page puts it at diameters over 8 cm
Thick (C2) / 1000 Wicks ₹9,440.00 ₹9.44 1,000 The same rate, and ₹9,251.20 more today

One line on that table is worth reading twice. The 1,000-piece pack and the 20-piece pack carry the same per-piece rate and differ by ₹9,251.20 in cash. Nothing about the larger pack is cheaper, better, fresher or more available. It is the same wick, more of it, sooner.

Splitting a sample order into two parcels to “start small” can cost more than the wick it saves. Freight is the one part of a wick purchase where quantity really does change the number, and it changes it in steps rather than smoothly. The five-line sample order below has a combined stored packed weight of 5.1 kg, which falls in the published 5–7 kg Standard band at ₹630.00 as at September 2026. Drop the Thin (C1) 20-pack and the basket weighs 4.9 kg, which falls in the 4–5 kg band at ₹450.00. So ₹118.00 of wick carries ₹180.00 of freight across that edge — and ordering it separately later means paying a second parcel for it. Band edges cut both ways: check your own weights rather than assuming either direction.

Two things follow from that, and neither is a general rule. First, decide the whole sample order before you place any of it, because the cheapest way to buy twenty wicks is inside a parcel you were sending anyway. Second, do not generalise the arithmetic: the published rates are flat bands, so whether adding a line costs you nothing or costs you a step depends entirely on where your particular basket sits. The service names and their published transit wording are quotable; nothing else about timing is published, so build a comfortable margin into any festive calendar and ask on WhatsApp if a date genuinely matters.

What a thousand pieces commits before the testing is finished

A wick order is small. A wick decision is not.

Set the two orders side by side honestly. Twenty Thick (C2) wicks is ₹188.80 and a thousand is ₹9,440.00; the difference is ₹9,251.20. In a business that buys glass by the carton that is not a catastrophic number, which is exactly why the early order feels harmless. The reason to resist it is not the rupees on the wick line. It is what the rupees are standing in for.

Think of ₹9,251.20 as about 35.30 test candles on the costing above — roughly 35.30 complete runs through a jar, a wax, an oil and a wick, each one producing a reading you can write down. A wick programme that stalls for want of glass and fragrance while a thousand unapproved wicks sit in a drawer has put its money in the one place that generates no information. That is the real cost, and it does not appear on any invoice.

Three endings
What happens to a 1,000-piece order placed before testing finished
Outcome What you hold What it is worth to you What it cost to find out
The grade was right 1,000 pieces at ₹9.44 Exactly what a later order would have been worth, at the identical rate ₹9,251.20 of cash held early, for no rate benefit
The grade was wrong, and another jar in your range takes it 1,000 pieces of usable stock for a different diameter Real, but only once that second jar is approved too The cash, plus a drawer you now plan around rather than from
The grade was wrong, and nothing in your range takes it 1,000 pieces of the other grade still to buy Dead capital until your range changes ₹9,251.20 and the order you still have to place
You sampled instead 20 + 20 pieces for ₹306.80 Both grades, both testable, this week ₹0.00 in forfeited unit price
Priced above: Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) ₹9.44 a piece at every pack size — ₹188.80 for the 20-pack, ₹9,440.00 for the 1,000-pack, a difference of ₹9,251.20; Thin (C1) ₹5.90 a piece, ₹118.00 for the 20-pack and ₹5,900.00 for the 1,000-pack. Both 20-packs together ₹306.80. One test candle ₹262.09, so the gap between the two C2 packs is about 35.30 test candles of material. CSI live pricing, September 2026, taxes included.

Notice the honest middle row. A thousand wicks of the wrong grade are not scrap — if you run a second jar diameter that takes the other grade, they are stock, and saying otherwise to sell you a smaller pack would be dishonest. But they are stock you did not plan, in a quantity you did not choose, for a candle you have not yet approved, and that is a different thing from inventory. Planning your range around a drawer you already own is how a product line ends up shaped by a purchasing mistake.

What it shows: how many candles each line of the sample order below can cover, at 150 g of total fill with the fragrance at 8% of wax weight. The wax pack runs out first at about 7.20 candles, the fragrance pack covers about 9.00 and the jar pack 10, while each 20-piece wick pack covers 20 single-wick candles — so the wick is the only line with slack in it and the only one makers routinely try to shrink. Deliberately left out: any burn observation or threshold, because CSI publishes none and none exists in our data; and the piece-count arithmetic for a multi-candidate test plan, which is a calculation of its own.
The CSI principle
On a flat ladder, patience is free and impatience buys nothing but inventory.

The sample order, priced and sequenced

Five lines, seven candles, and most of the money still on your shelf at the end of it.

This is the order, and the sequence that makes it worth placing. The arithmetic that turns a test plan into a piece count — candidates, candles per candidate, spares — is a calculation in its own right and this page does not do it; what this page does is size the packs and name the sequence, so that the order you place is the smallest one that can actually finish.

1
Write down the candidate list and the thresholds before you open the cart. Two candidates is the usual honest answer for a straight-sided jar in this size range, because the pre-tabbed cotton range has exactly two sizes: Thin (C1) and Thick (C2). Write what you will accept from a finished candle, in your own words, before you have seen one — pool reach, flame behaviour, residue on the glass, how warm the vessel gets. Thresholds invented after you have seen the result are rationalisations, and the whole value of a sample order is that it produces a reading you can hold against a line you drew earlier.
2
Size the fragrance and the wax first, not the wick. The wick is 3.60% of a test candle and never the binding line. At 150 g of total fill a 1 kg pack of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 covers about 7.20 candles and a 100 gm pack of Dark Vanilla Fragrance about 9.00, so seven candles is what this order can pour. Decide how many candles you need, then buy the wax and oil packs that reach it. The wick packs follow for small money.
3
Buy both cotton grades, in the 20-packs. ₹188.80 for twenty Thick (C2) and ₹118.00 for twenty Thin (C1), ₹306.80 together. Because the rate is flat you are not buying a sample at a premium, you are buying a smaller quantity at the same price. Add Candle Wick Stickers if you do not already seat tabs with something repeatable, and a Wick Centering Device if your wicks wander; a seating method that varies between candles is the fastest way to make a wick comparison meaningless.
4
Place it as one parcel and check the weight band. The five lines above carry a combined stored packed weight of 5.1 kg. Standard is published as a flat rate by weight band, so the arithmetic of adding a line is a step, not a slope — and it is worth looking at before you split an order across two days. Nothing about courier timing beyond the published service wording exists for us to quote, so leave margin in a festive calendar rather than planning to the day.
5
Pour, cure and record — then buy the pack your evidence points at. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks's page asks for a minimum of 48 hours and ideally one to two weeks before burn testing, and 14–21 days is standard practice for soy container candles, so the calendar matters more than the cart. When a configuration has earned an approval, buy the pack you need at the same ₹9.44 a piece you paid for the sample. That sentence is the whole argument of this page: the order you place after waiting is not penalised for having waited.
The order
Five lines, pack prices as at September 2026
Line Pack Price Rate What it covers
1. Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) 20 pieces ₹188.80 ₹9.44 a wick 20 single-wick candles; 13 pieces spare after this run
2. Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) 20 pieces ₹118.00 ₹5.90 a wick The second candidate, so one order covers both grades
3. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 1 kg ₹507.40 ₹507.40/kg About 7.20 candles — the binding line
4. Dark Vanilla Fragrance 100 gm ₹790.00 ₹7.90/g About 9.00 candles
5. Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid Pack of 10 ₹944.00 ₹94.40 each 10 jars; 3 left as stock
Order total — ₹2,548.20 — Seven candles consume ₹1,834.63; ₹713.57 remains (28.00%)
Priced above: Eco Candle Wicks (Thick (C2) / 20 Wicks) ₹188.80; the Thin (C1) 20-pack ₹118.00; Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (1 kg) ₹507.40 · Dark Vanilla Fragrance (100 gm) ₹790.00 · Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (Pack of 10) ₹944.00. Order total ₹2,548.20; seven candles at ₹262.09 consume ₹1,834.63; ₹713.57 remains as stock, which is 28.00% of the order. Fill reading carried through every line: 150 g of total fill with the fragrance at 8% of wax weight. Excluded because CSI does not sell or price them: labels, boxes, mailers, ribbon and courier to your own customer. CSI live pricing, September 2026, taxes included.

Read the last row before you decide a sample order is money spent on nothing. The order is ₹2,548.20; seven test candles consume ₹1,834.63 of it; ₹713.57, which is 28.00%, is stock that walks into production the day a configuration is approved — thirty-three unused wicks, three jars and the balance of the wax and oil. The genuine cost of finding out whether your approximate wick size is the right one is seven jars, 972.22 g of wax, 77.78 g of oil and ₹55.46 of wick.

A flat price ladder is a supplier telling you, in rupees, that there is no reward for guessing.
— CandleMakingSuppliesIndia

One more parallel, because it is the honest counterweight to everything above. The wick is the line where waiting is free; the fragrance is not. Dark Vanilla Fragrance runs ₹7.90 a gram in the 100 gm pack and ₹7.65 a gram in the 1 kg pack, so the larger pack is genuinely ₹0.25 a gram better. Across the 77.78 g this sample run uses, that advantage is worth ₹19.76 — and reaching it costs ₹6,856.00 more cash today on an oil you have not yet approved in a candle. Buy the pack that covers the test. Buy the better rate when you know which fragrance you are committing to. The principle is identical on both lines; it is only the wick line where the arithmetic makes the choice for you.

When ordering a thousand pieces is the right call

Sample first is a rule about evidence, not a rule about pack size. Sometimes the big pack is simply correct.

A page that only ever argued for the small pack would be selling you caution rather than information. There are real situations where the 500 or the 1,000 is the right line to place, and they share one feature: the configuration is already approved, so the order is a quantity decision rather than a bet.

Genuine cases for the big pack
When 500 or 1,000 pieces is the correct order
Situation Why the big pack is right What still has to be true first
A configuration you have already approved and shipped The rate is identical, so the only question is cash and shelf space — and wicks do not thicken, discolour or lose top notes An approval written down, with the jar, wax, oil, load, grade and count on it
One jar and one wax across several fragrances A single grade covers the whole range, so consumption is predictable and a part pack is never stranded Each fragrance confirmed in that configuration, not just the first one
Consolidating a parcel you are sending anyway Freight is the one real saving on a flat ladder, and wick packs weigh very little against wax and glass Check the band: a published flat rate steps, so adding weight does not always add cost
A dated commitment with no room to re-order Running out mid-run stops the line for something that costs a few rupees a piece The configuration approved before the order, not during it
Treating a flat rate as a reason to buy small forever is the mirror of the mistake this page is about. Once a configuration is approved, buying twenty wicks at a time means re-ordering constantly, and each re-order is a parcel, a band and a day when the line can stop for want of a ₹9.44 part. The flat rate cuts both ways: it means the sample costs you nothing extra, and it also means the 500-pack at ₹4,720.00 costs you nothing extra once you know it is the right grade. Sample before approval; buy depth after it.

The asymmetry is worth naming because it is what makes the whole sequence cheap. Before approval, the only thing a large pack adds is risk. After approval, the only thing a small pack adds is friction. The flat ladder means you never pay for moving from one state to the other — which is unusual, and worth using.

What this page deliberately does not tell you

The gaps mark which judgements are yours, and there are more of them than most wick pages admit.

No burn figures, anywhere. There is no burn time on this page, no pool width or depth, no flame height, no consumption rate and no soot grade. CSI publishes no such figure for any wick we sell, none exists in our data, and we have not lit your jar with your wax and your fragrance in it. Every reading your sample produces is yours to take, and every threshold yours to write before the first light.

No per-diameter sizing chart. No CSI wick page publishes one and this page prints none. What the pages do say is what we have quoted: Eco Candle Wicks are described as cotton and paper fibres suited to natural waxes and come as Thin (C1) and Thick (C2) only; Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made is stated to be for large-diameter candles exceeding 8 cm and stands 10.16 cm tall. For the general reasoning from diameter to a starting point, our live wick guide by diameter does that job and this page does not repeat it.

No lead time. CSI publishes no lead time for a wick order, so there is no figure here to plan a reorder point against — that stays a blank you fill from your own experience. The three service names and their own published transit wording may be quoted, and the shipping policy asks buyers to allow 1–2 business days for order processing; beyond that nothing about dispatch, couriers or city-level timing is published and nothing is estimated here. If a date matters, ask on WhatsApp +91 7397976926 before you build a calendar on it.

No number of pieces per candidate. That calculation — how many candidates, how many candles each, what spare allowance to carry — is a different question with a different answer, and it is the one that turns a test plan into a cart. This page has deliberately answered the narrower question in the title: whether to sample at all, and which pack. Where your own plan calls for more than twenty pieces of a grade, the rate does not change, so buy the pack that fits the plan.

No safety verdict on any configuration. Keep the discipline conservative and general: trim the wick short before every light, burn within the window you set yourself, never leave a candle unattended, keep it clear of draughts and anything that can catch, and discontinue any configuration that makes the vessel hot rather than warm or that smokes persistently. A result like that belongs on the record sheet, not in an argument with the candle.

And an honest word on us. The reviews at the top of this page include one on Eco Candle Wicks that asks us to work on pricing and delivery timelines, and one on another product asking for a discount on bulk buys. Both are left where they are rather than selected around, because a page whose whole argument is “our wick rate does not reward you for ordering more” owes you the customer who wishes it did. On price, the fact is the fact: ₹9.44 a Thick (C2) wick at twenty pieces and at a thousand, and the only CSI wick family with a genuine volume ladder is the wooden one. On timelines, there is nothing published we can quote beyond the service names and their own wording, so plan a margin and ask if a date is critical.

What is left is the part a supplier can honestly do from here: name the real range, publish the ladder so you can see there is nothing to wait for, price the sample order to the paisa, and say which line in it actually runs out. Twenty wicks, ₹188.80, 3.60% of a test candle — and the same ₹9.44 a piece waiting for you when the evidence is in.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles, and sells every wick on this page — which is why it says plainly that there is no commercial reason to buy the large pack early. Thick (C2) is ₹9.44 a piece and Thin (C1) is ₹5.90 at every pack size from 10 pieces to 1,000, Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made is ₹12.00 throughout, so a 20-piece sample forfeits nothing per wick and the 1,000-piece pack is simply ₹9,251.20 more cash today. The one family with a genuine volume ladder is Performance Wooden Wicks, and the page says so rather than generalising from it. It also says that a thousand wicks of the wrong grade are stock rather than scrap if another jar in your range takes them, and that the fragrance pack — unlike the wick pack — does reward volume.

Every price comes from live CSI stock, September 2026 pricing, taxes included; the linked product pages are authoritative if anything changes. Published fragrance ceilings are the manufacturer's stated formulation maximums as printed on each page, as a percentage of wax weight, and where a wax grade and an oil page both state one the lower governs. No CSI wick page publishes a diameter-to-wick sizing table and this page prints none. CSI publishes no burn times, melt-pool diameters, flame heights, consumption rates or soot measurements, none exists in our figures, and none is quoted or implied here. Pool areas quoted are geometry from published jar dimensions, not test data. CSI publishes no lead time, so none is stated or estimated. Shipping figures are the published September 2026 flat band rates for the stored packed weights of the named packs.

Frequently asked questions

Is 20 sample wicks enough, or should I buy 50?
Either, and the rate is the same — ₹9.44 a Thick (C2) piece at both. Twenty covers twenty single-wick candles, which is more than a sample run constrained by one wax pack and one oil pack can pour. Fifty at ₹472.00 makes sense once the jar is settled and you expect to repeat tests. The decision is about how many pieces you want in a drawer, not about price.
Will I get a better price per wick if I order 1,000 instead of 20?
No. Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) is ₹9.44 a piece at every pack size on the page and Thin (C1) is ₹5.90; Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made is ₹12.00 throughout. The 1,000-piece C2 pack is ₹9,440.00, exactly fifty times the 20-piece pack at ₹188.80. The only CSI wick family whose per-piece rate falls with pack size is Performance Wooden Wicks, from ₹59.00 to ₹41.30.
What if the sample proves the wick wrong — have I wasted the pack?
Barely. The pack is ₹188.80 and a single wick is 3.60% of a test candle, so the cost of being wrong on a sample is measured in jars and cure time, not wicks. The pre-tabbed cotton range has two sizes, so if one grade fails your next candidate is the other — which is why buying both 20-packs together at ₹306.80 is better value than buying one and finding out.
How many candles can I actually pour from a sample order?
On this page's costing, seven. At 150 g of total fill with the fragrance at 8% of wax weight, a 1 kg pack of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 covers about 7.20 candles and a 100 gm pack of Dark Vanilla Fragrance about 9.00, so the wax is the binding line. Twenty wicks are not the constraint and never were.
Should I buy the bigger fragrance pack at the same time to save money?
Not before the configuration is approved. Dark Vanilla Fragrance is ₹7.90 a gram in the 100 gm pack and ₹7.65 a gram in the 1 kg pack, so the larger pack really is ₹0.25 a gram better — but reaching it costs ₹6,856.00 more cash today, and across the 77.78 g a sample run uses the advantage is only ₹19.76. Buy the pack that covers the test.
Can I rely on the jar's published diameter to pick the wick and skip the sample?
No, for two reasons. Published jar dimensions are outside measurements — the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid page gives a 7 cm outer rim and a 6.5 cm base, and the wax surface sits between them. And no CSI wick page publishes a diameter-to-wick sizing table, so there is no chart to read the answer off. Geometry narrows the starting point: a 7 cm circle is 38.48 cm² against 50.27 cm² at 8 cm, 30.61% more surface. The burn test decides.

About this guide: Written by the CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA team. The method — run the supplier's own per-piece ladder before you accept that a larger pack is cheaper, size a sample order by the line that binds it rather than by the line in your question, buy every candidate grade in one order so a failed candidate does not cost you a cure cycle, write your acceptance thresholds before the first pour, and buy depth only after an approval you can hand to somebody else — applies to wicks from any supplier.

One test candle ₹262.09, of which jar 36.02%, fragrance 33.49%, wax 26.89% and wick 3.60%; twenty such candles ₹5,241.80; the ₹9,251.20 pack gap is about 35.30 test candles. Order total ₹2,548.20; seven candles consume ₹1,834.63; ₹713.57 remains as stock (28.00%); both wick packs are 12.04% of the order and the C2 pack alone 7.41%. Candle Wick Stickers ₹100.00 for 40; Wick Centering Device ₹118.00; Pen Thermometer ₹354.00. Where two published ceilings apply the lower governs, which here is 10%, so the 8% used has headroom.
