I Want Strong Hot Throw in My Candles — Where Can I Buy Professional Candle Wax and Fragrance Oils in India?
You can buy all of it from CSI, and further down this page we will tell you exactly which wax, which oils and which two tools. But the honest answer to your question is that most of the throw you are missing is free, and you should collect that first.

what the four biggest hot-throw levers cost · the paid upgrades start at a ₹354 thermometer and wax from ₹260 / 500g · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
Where do I buy professional candle wax and fragrance oils in India? From the CSI wax collection and 92 fragrance oils, in 15g trial sizes through to 1kg and 10kg bulk, shipped across India with GST invoicing.
Will buying those fix my weak hot throw? Partly. Throw is not a product, it is a set-up. Four free levers — a full 14–21 day cure, a wick sized for a full melt pool in 2–3 hours, base-heavy oils, and adding fragrance at the wax's stated temperature with two minutes of stirring — beat any purchase you can make.
So what is actually worth buying? Wax with headroom (Luxury Soy Chunks up to 13%, CSI 464 up to 10%), heavy-molecule oils, a spread of wick sizes to test, and the two instruments that stop you guessing: a pen thermometer at ₹354 and a weighing scale at ₹354.
Should I just add more oil? No. Those percentages are the wax maker's formulation limits. Past them the surplus does not bind, it separates — and the candle gets weaker, for more money.
The short answer
Do the free things first: cure 14–21 days, size the wick for a full pool in 2–3 hours, choose base-heavy oils, and add fragrance at the wax's stated temperature with two full minutes of stirring. Cost: ₹0. Most weak-throw candles are fixed here.
Rung length is the size of the gain, not the size of the invoice. The top four rungs are the ones a shopping cart cannot sell you: they are calendar time, a test burn, a buying decision and a timer. The bottom three are the purchases that are actually worth making once the top four are in place — ₹708 of instruments, wax with a higher stated ceiling, and about ₹7 per 200g candle for a coconut-soy blend.
Where can I buy professional candle wax and fragrance oils in India for strong hot throw?
You can buy them here — wax from ₹260 per 500g, 92 fragrance oils from ₹300 per 100g, shipped across India. But throw is not something you buy. It is something you set up. Four things decide most of it and all four are free: cure for 14–21 days before you judge the candle at all, size the wick so the melt pool reaches the glass in two to three hours because pool area is release area, buy oils weighted toward heavy base molecules that survive soy's cooler pool, and add fragrance at the temperature your wax states, with two full minutes of stirring — the temperature guide is here. After that, four purchases genuinely help: wax with headroom so you can legitimately work at the top of the stated range, heavy-molecule oils such as Sandalwood and Woody Oud, a spread of wick sizes to test with, and a ₹354 pen thermometer plus a ₹354 weighing scale so temperature and load are controlled rather than guessed. What does not help is more oil past the wax's stated ceiling — that makes the candle weaker, and the mechanism is in the too-much-oil guide.
One line: buy the wax and the oil here, but collect the four free levers first — cure, wick, base notes and add temperature move throw further than anything on the invoice.
If you buy one thing today, buy the two instruments. A pen thermometer at ₹354 and a candle making weighing scale at ₹354 turn "I think it was about eighty degrees" into a number you can repeat. Total ₹708, once.
Nobody searches "where can I buy strong hot throw" hoping the answer is "wait two more weeks". It is, though, and it is worth more than anything in your basket.
A candle that fills a room is doing three things at once: holding fragrance in solution while it sets, opening a wide enough melt pool to release it, and releasing molecules heavy enough to leave a pool that is only warm. None of the three is bought. They are decided by how long you wait, how you wick, and what you were going to buy anyway. Work through these four before you spend a rupee on throw — done properly, a meaningful share of readers will find the problem has gone, which is an odd thing for a supplier to write and is nevertheless true.
1
Cure for 14 to 21 days, and do not judge the candle before thenCuring is not the wax drying. It is the crystal structure settling and the fragrance distributing evenly through it, and it happens over weeks. Fresh and citrus blends are usually settled at 14 days. Florals want 14 to 18. Woody, gourmand and oriental oils keep improving to 21. Cure with lids on, in a closed carton, at room temperature and out of sunlight. The single most common reason an Indian maker declares a fragrance oil weak is that they lit the test candle 48 hours after pouring. Cost: ₹0. Effort: a calendar. The family-by-family breakdown is here.
2
Size the wick for a full melt pool in two to three hoursFragrance leaves a candle from the surface of the melt pool. That surface is the release area, and the wick sets it — not the oil, not the load. In a 70 mm jar a full pool is roughly 38.5 cm². A pool that only ever reaches 40 mm across is roughly 12.6 cm², about a third of the available surface and therefore about a third of the release. Burn three identical jars side by side with three wick sizes and keep the one that reaches the wall in two to three hours with no soot and no mushrooming. The test is free; we price a proper wick spread further down. Full method here.
3
Choose base-heavy oils — a decision, not an expenseSoy burns at a lower pool temperature than paraffin, which is why the same oil reads stronger in paraffin. Heavy, less volatile molecules — vanilla, sandalwood, oud, amber, resins, tobacco, warm spice — evaporate steadily from that cooler surface. Thin citrus and airy aquatic top notes need help to do the same job. Here is the part that matters commercially: this costs nothing extra. Woody Oud at ₹4.53 per gram is cheaper than Lavender at ₹5.22 and throws harder in soy. You are not buying a better oil, you are buying a better-suited one.
4
Add fragrance at the wax's stated temperature and stir for two full minutesEco Soy CSI 400 specifies adding fragrance at 80–90°C with two minutes of stirring, and CSI 464 melts and pours in the same 80–90°C band. Too cool and the oil is suspended rather than dissolved, and it finds its way back out during cure. Too hot and your top notes flash off before the wax reaches the jar. Two minutes with a bamboo stirring stick feels absurdly long — time it anyway. Nearly everybody stirs for forty seconds and believes it was two minutes. The temperature guide is here.
Change one thing at a time
If you extend the cure, change the wick and swap the wax in the same batch and the candle improves, you have learned nothing you can repeat. Run one variable per test batch, write down the result, keep what worked. Three controlled tests across six weeks teach you more than thirty uncontrolled pours, and they cost less.
Say it plainly: most people reading this do not need to buy anything. If your candles are under two weeks old, or you have never run a side-by-side wick test, or you have never timed your stir, then the weak throw you are trying to purchase your way out of is a process problem. Fix the process first. If you would like a second opinion before spending, send us the wax, the jar diameter, the wick, the load and the cure days on WhatsApp and we will tell you honestly whether the answer is a purchase or a change. It is frequently not a purchase. The full diagnostic is in the weak throw guide.
What is genuinely worth buying
Now the commercial answer, because there is a real one. Four purchases move throw, and they move it because they remove a limit rather than because they add a magic ingredient. Every price below is CSI live pricing, September 2026, and the linked product page is always the authoritative source.
The buy list · in the order it is worth spending
What it removes, what it costs, and what it does for throw
Two notes on that table. First, the ₹708 of instruments outranks the wax, which is not what a wax supplier would normally write. Load is a weight percentage and oils differ in density, so millilitres will never give you a repeatable load, and "hot enough" is not a temperature. Until both numbers are real, every other change is being tested against a moving baseline. Second, the wick spread is deliberately a spread — buying one size is not a test. ₹247.80 buys ten Thin C1 and twenty Thick C2, enough for three-jar comparisons across two or three diameters. For a wider pool and a visible flame, Performance Wooden Wicks are ₹590 for 10, falling to ₹41.30 each at 100.
A cold room is a real cause of weak throw, and it has a paid fix. If your wax drops out of the 80–90°C band while you are still stirring, the oil never fully dissolves. Makers in the hills and in north Indian winters hit this constantly. A Mini Electric Wax Melter at ₹2,360 holds the wax in band while you work; at production volume the 20 litre Electric Wax Melter is ₹23,600. This is the one throw problem where equipment genuinely is the answer — a customer describes exactly this situation in the reviews at the top of the page.
Pouring for Diwali on 8 November 2026? Work backwards: a 21-day cure on a woody or gourmand range means the fragrance decision and the bulk order need to be settled well before the pour, not after it. Bulk pricing, GST invoicing, MSDS and IFRA documentation are all handled directly.
This is the part of your question that does have a shopping answer. Soy's melt pool is cooler than paraffin's, so the oils that perform in it are the ones built on heavy, slow-evaporating base molecules. Below are four CSI oils weighted that way, priced across every size they ship in. Per-candle fragrance cost assumes a 200g candle at an 8% load — 16g of oil — bought at 1kg pricing; scale it proportionally if you pour at 10% or 13%. All prices are CSI live pricing, September 2026.
1
Woody · the cheapest strong throw in the range
Woody Oud Fragrance Oil
Oud sits almost entirely in the base, which is exactly the property that makes it survive a cool pool — there is very little in the top of the accord to lose. At ₹4.53 per gram at 1kg it is also the cheapest of the four here, which is the useful part of the argument: buying for throw does not mean buying up. This is the oil to reach for if you have been blaming your wax for a weak candle and pouring a light, fresh accord into it.

Woody · festival and hamper volume
Sandalwood Fragrance Oil
Sandalwood's structural weight is what makes it carry, and it is the scent that anchors Diwali collections and wedding hampers, which is where the volume sits for most Indian candle brands. It is also forgiving of a shorter cure than a delicate floral would be, though it still rewards the full 21 days. At ₹5.03 per gram at 1kg it remains one of the cheapest strong-throw options in the catalogue.

Oriental gourmand · heaviest carry
Dark Vanilla Oud Fragrance Oil
Vanilla over oud is about as heavy as a candle accord gets, and heavy is the whole point in soy. It is also legible from the label, which does half the selling before the jar is ever lit — a customer knows what "dark vanilla oud" will smell like. Expect gradual darkening of white wax over several weeks with any vanillin-bearing oil; that is cosmetic rather than a fault, and it is covered in the discolouration guide.
Spice aldehydes and the warm-fruit accord underneath them are heavy enough to work from a soy pool, and the result is the scent people notice the moment they walk through a door rather than when they lean over the jar. That is the definition of hot throw doing its job commercially. Flat pricing across 50g, 100g, 500g and 1kg at ₹4.74 per gram means the trial size costs you nothing extra per gram to test with.
"My customer was very happy with this apple cinnamon fragrance. As soon as they entered their home this smell is warmth and pleasing. And I got many orders who visited their home, as they also loved the smell."
— PREETHI PRASATH, verified buyer, Apple Cinnamon Fragrance Oil, May 2026
One more worth naming: Vanilla Bean at ₹790 per 100g and ₹7,646 per 1kg — ₹7.65 per gram, or ₹122.34 of fragrance in a 200g candle at 8%. It is the most expensive of the five here and the most reliably strong in soy, and it makes the point of this page cleanly: pay ₹122.34 a candle for Vanilla Bean cured four days, or ₹72.50 for Woody Oud cured eighteen, and the cheap candle wins the blind test. The oil is an input. The cure is the process. Fuller ranking by family: the strongest hot throw oils guide, and the oils that throw hard at a lower load.
Buy 15g before you buy 1kg
Every oil above ships in a 15g trial size from ₹93.22. Test three or four candidates properly — poured into your actual wax, wicked with your actual wick, cured the full time — before committing to a kilogram. A 1kg drum of an oil that does not suit your wax is a far more expensive mistake than four trial sizes. This is also why the premium-versus-cheap comparison is worth reading before a bulk order rather than after one.
The load ceiling, stated correctly
The instinct, when a candle smells weak, is to pour more oil into the next one. It is the one change that reliably makes things worse.
Fragrance load is the percentage of the finished candle that is fragrance oil. In a 200g candle, 8% is 16g of oil and 184g of wax; 10% is 20g and 180g; 13% is 26g and 174g. If you are pouring at 6% then yes, go up — that is real headroom, and it is the reason to buy a wax that publishes a high ceiling. What you must not do is treat the stated number as a floor to beat.
Those numbers are wax-manufacturer formulation limits, not regulatory limits. They describe the maximum quantity of oil that specific wax has been formulated to hold in solution, and they are stated per wax. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks are rated up to 13%. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 flakes are rated up to 10%. Different waxes, different numbers, which is why the blanket "soy takes 10%" rule that circulates in maker groups is not useful. Work to the figure on the wax you actually bought, and keep the invoice so you can prove which batch it was.
What going over actually does. Wax holds oil the way water holds sugar: up to a point, then no further. Past the ceiling the surplus does not bind into the wax matrix. It migrates during cooling and cure, and you get the familiar sequence — visible separation in the jar, an oily film sweating to the surface, a wick that struggles to stay lit because it is drawing oil rather than wax, and a melt pool that never opens out to the glass. Smaller pool, less release, weaker candle — for more money. The full mechanism is set out in can too much fragrance oil make a candle smell weaker, and the load to use by family is in what fragrance load should you use for floral, woody and gourmand oils.
Here is what the decision actually costs, so you can make it with numbers rather than nerves. Both oils below are priced at 1kg tiers, in a 200g candle, moving from a common 8% starting load up to each wax's stated ceiling.
Worked cost · 200g candle · CSI live pricing, September 2026
What moving from 8% to the stated ceiling costs you per candle
Read those last two columns as a business decision, not a recipe. Sandalwood from 8% to 13% adds ₹50.27 to every candle, or ₹25,135 across a 500-unit festive run; Woody Oud adds ₹45.31 and ₹22,655. That can be money well spent — a candle that reliably fills a room is the one customers reorder. But spend it in the right order. ₹25,135 of extra oil poured into candles cured four days and burned on an undersized wick buys nothing, while the same range at 8%, cured eighteen days on a wick that opens the pool fully, will very likely beat it. Pricing around that decision is covered in how to price candles in India 2026.
The safety framing, stated precisely
The 10% and 13% figures on this page are the wax manufacturer's stated maximum fragrance loads — a formulation limit describing how much oil that specific wax will hold in solution. They are not a regulatory claim, and they are not a substitute for your fragrance supplier's own documentation, which states usage guidance per application. CSI supplies GST invoicing, MSDS and IFRA documentation on request via WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.
Coconut-soy: the paid upgrade, priced honestly
If you have done all four free levers, you are working at your wax's stated ceiling, you have a base-heavy oil and the candle is still not where you want it, this is the next real move. A coconut-soy blend sets softer and releases more fully from the first burn than straight soy does, and on gourmand, oriental and woody ranges the difference is audible in customer feedback rather than only measurable at the bench.

The honest arithmetic on the swap: Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 is ₹6,370 per 10kg, which is ₹0.637 per gram, against Luxury Soy Chunks at ₹5,999 per 10kg, or ₹0.5999 per gram. On the 184g of wax in a 200g candle at 8%, that is ₹117.21 instead of ₹110.38 — about ₹7 more per candle. Set that against ₹50.27 for the same candle's worth of extra Sandalwood and it is the cheaper of the two upgrades by a wide margin. Do re-test your wick after the swap: a different wax is a different pool, and the wick that was right for straight soy may not be right here. Which families benefit most is covered here.
The CSI principle
What you buy decides how much fragrance is in the candle. What you do decides how much of it reaches the room.
A candle poured with the most expensive oil in the catalogue, cured four days and burned on an undersized wick, will lose a blind test to a cheaper oil cured eighteen days on a pool that reaches the glass. The oil in the jar is not the product. The oil in the air is.
Two free habits keep the result once you have it. Judge in a controlled room — about 12 by 12 feet, closed, with no fan, open window or plug-in freshener competing. And match the candle to the room: a single-wick 200g candle is sized for that space, so a customer lighting one jar across 300 square feet of open plan is not experiencing a weak candle, they are experiencing a small one. Print the nose-fatigue line on a candle care sticker at ₹0.83 a unit and most "it stopped smelling" messages stop arriving. Related: why fragrance smells different after burning.
Why trust this guide
CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. That matters on a page written to answer a buying question, because the commercially convenient answer would have been "buy more oil, and buy the expensive one". We sell the oil. We have instead put four free levers above every product on this page, because a maker whose candles get better keeps ordering and a maker whose candles get worse does not.
Every price, size and stated ceiling quoted here comes from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing and specification always take precedence. The 13% and 10% figures are the fragrance loads stated for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 respectively. They are wax formulation limits, not regulatory limits, and they are not interchangeable between waxes. There are 92 fragrance oils in the collection on the pull date, in sizes from 15g to 1kg.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I buy professional candle wax and fragrance oils in India?
No wax produces throw by itself; what a wax gives you is headroom and pool behaviour. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks carry the highest stated ceiling in the soy range at up to 13%, so you can legitimately work at the top of the range, and Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 gives a fuller release from the first burn for about ₹7 more per 200g candle. Both still depend entirely on the wick opening a full melt pool and the candle being cured properly.
Which fragrance oils have the strongest hot throw in soy wax?
The ones built on heavy base molecules, because soy's melt pool is cooler than paraffin's. In the CSI range that means Woody Oud at ₹4.53 per gram, Sandalwood at ₹5.03, Apple Cinnamon at ₹4.74, Dark Vanilla Oud at ₹5.69 and Vanilla Bean at ₹7.65, all at 1kg pricing. Note that the strongest of them is not the most expensive — buying for throw is a matter of suitability, not of paying more.
Do I have to buy anything to fix weak hot throw?
Usually not. Four changes do most of the work and all four are free: cure for 14 to 21 days before judging the candle, size the wick so the melt pool reaches the glass in two to three hours, choose a base-heavy oil, and add fragrance at the wax's stated temperature with two full minutes of stirring. If your candles are under two weeks old or you have never run a side-by-side wick test, start there. The purchases that genuinely help afterwards are a pen thermometer at ₹354, a weighing scale at ₹354 and a spread of wick sizes from ₹59.
Can I just add more fragrance oil to make the candle stronger?
Only up to the ceiling stated for your wax — up to 13% on Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and up to 10% on CSI 464. Those are the wax manufacturer's formulation limits, not regulatory limits, and they describe how much oil the wax will hold in solution. Beyond them the surplus does not bind: it separates, sweats to the surface, drowns the wick and shrinks the melt pool, so the candle ends up weaker and more expensive. The mechanism is set out in can too much fragrance oil make a candle smell weaker.
What does it cost to go from 8% to the maximum fragrance load?
On a 200g candle, 8% is 16g of oil and 13% is 26g. With Sandalwood at ₹5.03 per gram that is ₹80.43 rising to ₹130.70, an extra ₹50.27 per candle — ₹25,135 across a 500-unit run. With Woody Oud at ₹4.53 it is ₹72.50 rising to ₹117.81, an extra ₹45.31 per candle. Worth doing if the free levers are already in place; a waste of ₹25,135 if they are not.
