₹5,200
per 1,000 g of Lemongrass and Lime Fragrance Oil · ₹5.20 per gram · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What does 1 kg of lemongrass candle fragrance oil cost in India? At CSI, Lemongrass and Lime is ₹5,200 for 1,000 g, which is ₹5.20 per gram. That is the cheapest per-gram tier the oil has.

Is the kilogram cheaper than two 500 g bottles? No. 500 g is ₹2,600, so two 500 g bottles are also ₹5,200 — identical money, same oil, and you can open one and leave the other sealed. Buy 2 × 500 g.

Where does the price actually break? At 500 g. The ladder runs ₹7.77 → ₹6.60 → ₹5.90 → ₹5.20 → ₹5.20 per gram across 15 g, 50 g, 100 g, 500 g and 1,000 g. It flattens at 500 g and the kilogram adds nothing.

How many candles does 1 kg make? 62 candles at a 200 g fill and an 8% load, at ₹83.20 of fragrance each. At a 100 g fill and 8%, it is 125 candles at ₹41.60 each.
The short answer
The number: Lemongrass and Lime Fragrance Oil — ₹5,200 per 1,000 g, ₹5.20/g. Tiers: ₹116.52 / 15 g · ₹330 / 50 g · ₹590 / 100 g · ₹2,600 / 500 g · ₹5,200 / 1,000 g.
The finding: the per-gram price stops falling at 500 g. 2 × 500 g = ₹5,200 = the kilogram. Same spend, and half your stock stays factory-sealed while you pour the other half.
The caution: this is a light citrus-herbal oil and lemongrass sells seasonally in India. A kilogram bought at the wrong point in the year loses its top notes in storage before it is ever poured. Buy to a season, not to a discount.

Left: the per-gram price of Lemongrass and Lime falls from ₹7.77 at 15 g to ₹5.20 at 500 g, then stops. The 1 kg tier sits at exactly the same ₹5.20 — the last bar is the same height as the one before it, which is the whole argument of this page. Right: the shape of Indian demand for lemongrass-type scents, weighted to summer and monsoon. The two panels are read together: the discount stops improving at 500 g, so the only thing the kilogram buys you is a larger bottle sitting through a longer storage period. Demand curve is CSI's own shape-of-year read on this scent family, not a measured index.
Straight answer
What is the price of 1 kg of lemongrass candle fragrance oil in India?
At CSI the lemongrass oil is Lemongrass and Lime, and 1,000 g costs ₹5,200 — ₹5.20 per gram. The smaller tiers are ₹116.52 for 15 g, ₹330 for 50 g, ₹590 for 100 g and ₹2,600 for 500 g, which works out at ₹7.77, ₹6.60, ₹5.90, ₹5.20 and ₹5.20 per gram respectively. The ladder flattens at 500 g. Because 500 g is ₹2,600, two 500 g bottles come to exactly ₹5,200 — the same money as the kilogram, for the same oil. We would take the two bottles: you open one and the second stays factory-sealed with no headspace until you need it, which matters more for a light citrus-herbal composition than it does for a resin or a gourmand. One kilogram at an 8% load gives you 62 candles at a 200 g fill, at ₹83.20 of fragrance per candle, or 125 candles at a 100 g fill. Work to the ceiling stated on your wax — up to 13% on Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, up to 10% on CSI 464. Full costing, the seasonal buying rule and the consumption threshold are below. Related: where to buy lemongrass fragrance oil in India.
One line: 1 kg of Lemongrass and Lime is ₹5,200 at ₹5.20/g — but so are two 500 g bottles, so buy those instead and keep half of it sealed.
If you are testing the scent rather than committing to a season, start at 100 g for ₹590. That is six 200 g candles at 8% — enough for a burn test, a cure test and a market stall — and it costs you ₹11.20 more per candle than the kilogram tier. That is a cheap education.

The price, and the per-gram ladder underneath it

One kilogram, ₹5,200, ₹5.20 a gram. Everything else on this page is about whether you should actually buy it in that shape.

The lemongrass oil in the CSI catalogue is Lemongrass and Lime — a lemongrass-led citrus-herbal composition with a lime lift, not a single-note lemongrass isolate. We are naming it precisely because there is no separate "lemongrass" SKU to order against, and a purchase order that says "lemongrass 1 kg" will be filled with this. The 1,000 g bottle is ₹5,200. That is ₹5.20 per gram, and it is the lowest per-gram figure the oil reaches.

Five tiers, and the per-gram column is the one to read. The drop from 15 g to 500 g is 33% — ₹7.77 down to ₹5.20 a gram. The drop from 500 g to 1,000 g is nil. The last column assumes a 200 g finished candle at an 8% fragrance load, which is 16 g of oil per candle.
Size Price Per gram 200 g candles @ 8% Fragrance per candle
15 g ₹116.52 ₹7.77 under 1 ₹124.29
50 g ₹330.00 ₹6.60 3 ₹105.60
100 g ₹590.00 ₹5.90 6 ₹94.40

Read down the per-gram column and the shape is obvious. Between 15 g and 50 g you save ₹1.17 a gram. Between 50 g and 100 g you save ₹0.70. Between 100 g and 500 g you save ₹0.70 again. Between 500 g and 1,000 g you save nothing at all. In per-candle terms on a 200 g fill at 8%, moving from the 100 g bottle to the 500 g bottle takes your fragrance cost from ₹94.40 to ₹83.20 — ₹11.20 a candle, which over the 62 candles a kilogram makes is ₹694.40. Moving from the 500 g bottle to the kilogram takes it from ₹83.20 to ₹83.20.

Where this sits in the range
At ₹5.20 a gram, Lemongrass and Lime is mid-priced for a CSI fragrance oil. Citrus Lemon is the cheapest oil on the store at ₹2,832 per kg (₹2.83/g) and Eucalyptus Spearmint is ₹3,068 per kg (₹3.07/g). If what your range actually needs is a plain lemon note or a cool herbal one, say so and buy the cheaper oil — you would save ₹2,368 or ₹2,132 on the kilogram. Lemongrass and Lime is worth its premium only if the lemongrass character specifically is what you are selling.

The finding: the break happens at 500 g, and the kilogram adds nothing

Because 500 g is ₹2,600, two 500 g bottles cost ₹5,200. The 1,000 g bottle also costs ₹5,200. Same oil, same total weight, same money, same invoice. There is no bulk discount waiting on the other side of the 500 g tier, and if you were holding out for the kilogram on the assumption that there would be, stop holding out.

Four ways to put 1,000 g of Lemongrass and Lime on your shelf
Same oil, same kilogram, four different bills
How you buy it Total paid Per gram Versus the kilogram
67 × 15 g ₹7,806.84 (for 1,005 g) ₹7.77 ₹2,606.84 more — never do this
20 × 50 g ₹6,600.00 ₹6.60 ₹1,400.00 more
10 × 100 g ₹5,900.00 ₹5.90 ₹700.00 more
2 × 500 g ₹5,200.00 ₹5.20 Identical — and one bottle stays sealed
1 × 1,000 g ₹5,200.00 ₹5.20 Baseline

So the decision between the kilogram and the pair of half-kilos is not a price decision at all. It is a packaging decision, and once price is off the table the packaging argument is one-sided. Buy 2 × 500 g.

Why the sealed second bottle matters more for this oil than for most. Every time a bottle is opened, the air above the liquid is replaced and the lightest molecules in the composition move into that air. On a resinous oud or a vanilla-heavy gourmand, the character sits in the base and very little of the identity is carried by anything volatile, so an opened bottle changes slowly. Lemongrass and Lime is the opposite case: the citral-type lemongrass brightness and the lime lift are the product, and they are the first things to leave. A kilogram bottle that is opened in March and still half-full in July has spent four months with a growing headspace of air sitting on top of a light oil. Two 500 g bottles give you the same kilogram with half the exposure — you work through bottle one while bottle two is still factory-sealed, with no headspace, at full strength, on the day you break the seal.
The CSI principle
When two pack sizes cost the same, the smaller pack wins. Always.
Price per gram is the only reason to buy a bigger bottle. Once the per-gram line goes flat, the bigger bottle is carrying all the storage risk and none of the saving. It is the rare case where the commercially correct answer and the honest answer are the same answer — we get ₹5,200 either way.

What one kilogram of Lemongrass and Lime actually makes

A kilogram is only meaningful as a number of finished candles, and that number depends on two things you choose: the fill weight of your vessel and the fragrance load you pour at. The table below runs the four fill weights most Indian makers use against the three loads that matter. Fragrance cost per candle is at ₹5.20 a gram, which is the 500 g and 1,000 g tier price.

300 g 10% 30 g 33 ₹156.00
300 g 13% 39 g 25 ₹202.80
Which of those loads you are allowed to use
Fragrance ceilings are set by the wax manufacturer, per wax, as formulation limits — the maximum quantity of oil that wax has been formulated to hold in solution. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks are rated up to 13%. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 flakes are rated up to 10%. The 13% rows above therefore only apply if you are on Chunks. Work to the number stated on the wax you actually bought, and treat your fragrance supplier's own usage documentation as the other half of the answer — CSI supplies MSDS and IFRA documentation on request.

The spread across that table is the thing to sit with. The same kilogram is either 125 candles or 25, depending entirely on decisions you make before you ever weigh out oil. If your range is built on 100 g votive-scale candles at 8%, one kilogram is most of a season. If you pour 300 g three-wick jars at 13%, one kilogram is 25 units and you will need a second before the monsoon is over. Decide the fill and the load first, then decide the pack size — doing it the other way round is how makers end up with a half-used kilogram and no plan for it. How much fragrance oil a candle business actually needs works the same arithmetic across a whole range rather than a single scent.

The full 200 g bill of materials at 8%

Fragrance is the line everyone watches and it is never the whole bill. Here is a complete 200 g container candle in Lemongrass and Lime, at an 8% load, costed line by line at CSI September 2026 pricing. Wax is Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at the 10 kg tier, ₹5,999, which is ₹0.5999 a gram.

One 200 g candle · 184 g wax + 16 g Lemongrass and Lime
Every line, at the bulk tier of each component
Line Product and tier bought Used Cost
Wax Luxury Soy Wax Chunks — 10 kg at ₹5,999 (₹599.90/kg) 184 g ₹110.38
Fragrance Lemongrass and Lime — 1,000 g at ₹5,200 (₹5.20/g) 16 g ₹83.20
Vessel Black Matte Glass Jar — pack of 10 at ₹708 (₹70.80 each) 1 ₹70.80
Wick Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) — 100 at ₹944 (₹9.44 each) 1 ₹9.44
Wick sticker Candle Wick Stickers — 1 sheet of 40 at ₹100 (₹2.50 each) 1 ₹2.50
Care label Candle Care Stickers Roll — 500 at ₹413 (₹0.83 each) 1 ₹0.83
Total Materials only — excludes packaging, labour, freight and GST — ₹277.15

Fragrance is ₹83.20 of a ₹277.15 bill — almost exactly 30%. The glass is the next biggest line at ₹70.80, and it is the one with the most room in it: swap to a 200 ml Salsa Glass Jar with a golden lug cap at ₹29.50 each in hundreds and the bill drops to ₹235.85, a ₹41.30 saving per unit without touching the scent. That is worth knowing before you go looking for a cheaper oil — the glass usually has more slack in it than the fragrance does, and cutting the oil is the change your customer notices. Browse the full containers collection for the rest of the options, and use how to price candles in India in 2026 to turn ₹277.15 of materials into a retail number that works.

Weigh the oil, do not measure it
Fragrance load is a weight percentage and oils differ in density, so millilitres will not give you a repeatable 8%. A candle making weighing scale at ₹354 pays for itself on the first kilogram: a 5% overpour on 16 g is 0.8 g of oil per candle, which across 62 candles is 49.6 g — ₹257.92 of Lemongrass and Lime poured away by eye.

The case against holding a kilogram of this particular oil

A kilogram of oud is an asset. A kilogram of lemongrass is a clock.

Two separate arguments point the same way here, and both of them are specific to light citrus-herbal compositions rather than general warnings about buying in bulk. The first is chemical. The second is commercial.

The chemical argument. What makes Lemongrass and Lime recognisable is sitting almost entirely in the volatile end of the composition — the sharp green-citrus lemongrass character and the lime lift on top of it. Those are the lightest molecules in the bottle and they are the ones that leave first, into the headspace of an opened bottle, through repeated warming and cooling on a shelf, and under light. What is left behind after a long hold is not nothing, but it is duller, flatter and less distinctly lemongrass. A heavy woody or gourmand oil carries its identity in molecules that do none of this, which is why makers who have happily held a kilogram of Gilli Mitti for a year assume the same is true of everything on the rack. It is not. The lighter the oil, the shorter the sensible hold.

The commercial argument. Lemongrass does not sell evenly through the Indian year. It is a warm-weather and monsoon scent — balcony, veranda, kitchen, bathroom, café terrace — and demand builds from around March, peaks across the summer and the monsoon, and falls away through October. The autumn and early-winter candle market in India belongs to warm woods, spice and gourmand, which is what a festive bulk order is built from; Diwali falls on 8 November 2026, and almost nobody is buying a lemongrass candle for it. Put the two arguments together and the failure mode writes itself: a kilogram bought in October, because the per-gram number looked good, sits through the entire festive season and the whole winter, and is finally opened in March having quietly lost the top of the very thing you were selling.

The seasonal ordering rule. Order Lemongrass and Lime so that the first seal is broken within four weeks of your season starting, and the last gram is poured before that season ends. In practice, for an Indian range: place the kilogram order in February or early March for a March-to-September run, open bottle one immediately, and open bottle two only when bottle one is empty. If you are ordering in August or later, do not buy a kilogram at all — buy 500 g for ₹2,600, or 100 g for ₹590 if you are only topping up an existing line. And never buy a kilogram of a light citrus-herbal oil in October or November: you are paying ₹5,200 for four months of storage on the most fragile thing in your store cupboard, during the one quarter when your cash should be in festive stock. The Diwali ordering timeline is here.

None of that is an argument against buying a kilogram. It is an argument against buying a kilogram at the wrong point in the year, and against buying it as one bottle rather than two. If you are ordering in February for a season you can already see in last year's sales, the kilogram — as 2 × 500 g — is exactly right, and the money is identical to the single bottle.

1
Sealed, and sealed properlyScrew the cap down fully every single time, not just when you put the bottle away for the week. Most of the loss on a light oil happens in the ten minutes after a pour, when the bottle is standing open on a warm bench next to a melter. Cap it between weighings, not at the end of the session.
2
Dark and cool, and away from the melterLight and heat are the two accelerants. A closed cupboard on an internal wall is better than a shelf above the workbench, and far better than anywhere within reach of afternoon sun through a workshop window. Room temperature is fine — you do not need refrigeration — but a cupboard that reaches 40°C in an Indian May is not room temperature.
3
Upright, alwaysStored on its side, the oil sits against the cap liner for months. Upright storage keeps the liquid off the closure, keeps the seal doing its job, and means a weep shows up as a ring on the shelf rather than as an empty bottle you discover in March.
4
Decant a working bottleThis is the step most makers skip and it is the highest-value one. Pour a week or a fortnight of oil into a small working bottle and leave the 500 g stock bottle closed. The working bottle takes all the opening, the bench heat and the headspace; the stock bottle is opened once a fortnight instead of forty times a month.
5
Minimise headspace, and date the bottleAir in the bottle is the reservoir the volatiles escape into, and it grows as the bottle empties. When a stock bottle is down to a third, decant what is left into a smaller container so the liquid comes up near the neck. Write the date the seal was broken on the label in marker. A bottle you cannot date is a bottle you cannot manage.

Who the kilogram is actually for

A kilogram of a single scent is a commitment to that scent as a line, not an experiment with it. The buyers this size is built for all have the same profile: one steady account or one steady channel that reorders the same candle every month. In practice that means a café or restaurant group buying table and counter candles for multiple outlets; a hotel or homestay supplier fitting out verandas, balconies and outdoor dining; a brand with an established outdoor or garden range that sells from March through the monsoon; or a private-label maker with a repeat contract rather than a market stall.

The consumption threshold, taken straight from the candle table. A kilogram is 62 candles at a 200 g fill and 8%. To clear it in a single quarter you need to pour about 333 g of this one oil a month — roughly 21 × 200 g candles, or 42 × 100 g candles. To clear it across a full six-month season you need 167 g a month, about 10 × 200 g candles, and that is the floor. Below ten 200 g candles a month in this one scent, buy 500 g at ₹2,600 instead. Below three a month, buy 100 g at ₹590. A kilogram that takes you fourteen months to use has not saved you ₹700; it has cost you the back half of the bottle.

Note what that threshold is not measuring. It is your monthly volume in this specific scent, not across your whole range. A maker pouring 200 candles a month across twelve fragrances is pouring perhaps 17 of each, and for lemongrass that is a 500 g buyer, not a kilogram buyer — regardless of how big the business feels. This is the single commonest error in bulk fragrance buying, and it is why a rack of half-used kilogram bottles is such a reliable sign of a business that grew its SKU count faster than its volume. If you are still deciding how many scents to carry, buying fragrance oils in bulk in India covers the range-width question directly, and lemongrass candle fragrance oil wholesale in India deals with volumes above a kilogram.

What we do not claim, and what you should not either
CSI sells Lemongrass and Lime as a candle fragrance oil. We make no insect-repellent, medicinal, therapeutic or other health claim for it, and we would advise you not to put one on your label, your listing or your market-stall sign either. Sell it as a scent — bright, green, citrus-led, and well matched to verandas, kitchens, bathrooms and outdoor dining. That is a strong enough proposition on its own and it is one you can actually stand behind.

On documentation and ordering: every CSI order ships with a GST invoice, which matters if you are claiming input credit on a ₹5,200 line, and MSDS and IFRA documentation is available on request for Lemongrass and Lime as for any oil in the range — ask for it before you commit to a kilogram, not after, particularly if you are supplying a hospitality client whose procurement team will want it on file. Bulk enquiries, quantities beyond the listed tiers and documentation requests are all handled directly on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926. The 92-oil fragrance oils collection, the candle wicks collection and the Eco Soy CSI 400 listing are the other three pages worth having open while you build the order.

The kilogram is not a discount. It is a bigger bottle at the same price, and a longer time for the best part of it to escape.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. On a page whose headline is a kilogram price, the commercially convenient advice is to sell you the kilogram. We are telling you to buy two 500 g bottles instead, which earns us exactly the same ₹5,200 and leaves you with a better outcome — and we are telling a large share of readers that their real answer is a ₹2,600 half-kilo or a ₹590 hundred-gram bottle, which earns us less. A maker who ends up with a stale bottle blames the oil and stops reordering, and that costs more than the margin on one bad-fit sale.

Every figure on this page is taken from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing and specification always take precedence. Lemongrass and Lime is priced at ₹116.52 / 15 g, ₹330 / 50 g, ₹590 / 100 g, ₹2,600 / 500 g and ₹5,200 / 1,000 g. The 13% and 10% fragrance figures are the wax manufacturers' stated maximum loads for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 respectively; they are formulation limits describing how much oil each wax holds in solution, not regulatory limits, and they are not interchangeable between waxes.

The seasonal demand shape in the diagram is CSI's own read on when this scent family sells in India, offered as a planning heuristic rather than a measured index — your own sales history for the last two years is a better input and you should use it if you have it. Frequently asked questions

What is the 1 kg price of lemongrass candle fragrance oil in India?
At CSI, Lemongrass and Lime is ₹5,200 for 1,000 g, which is ₹5.20 per gram. The other tiers are ₹116.52 for 15 g (₹7.77/g), ₹330 for 50 g (₹6.60/g), ₹590 for 100 g (₹5.90/g) and ₹2,600 for 500 g (₹5.20/g). This is CSI live pricing as at September 2026; the product page is always the authoritative figure.
Is it cheaper to buy 1 kg or two 500 g bottles?
Neither — they cost the same. 500 g is ₹2,600, so 2 × 500 g = ₹5,200, identical to the 1,000 g bottle. Since the price is the same, take the two bottles: you pour from one while the second stays factory-sealed with no headspace, which protects the volatile lemongrass and lime notes that carry this particular scent. The per-gram ladder flattens at 500 g and the kilogram adds no further discount.
How many candles will 1 kg of lemongrass fragrance oil make?
It depends on fill weight and load. At an 8% load: 125 candles at a 100 g fill, 83 at 150 g, 62 at 200 g, and 41 at 300 g. At 10%: 100, 66, 50 and 33. At 13%: 76, 51, 38 and 25. Fragrance cost per candle at ₹5.20/g runs from ₹41.60 for a 100 g candle at 8% up to ₹202.80 for a 300 g candle at 13%. The 13% figures only apply on a wax rated to 13%, such as Luxury Soy Wax Chunks.
What does a finished 200 g lemongrass candle cost to make?
₹277.15 in materials at an 8% load: ₹110.38 of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks (184 g at the 10 kg tier), ₹83.20 of Lemongrass and Lime (16 g), ₹70.80 for a Black Matte Glass Jar, ₹9.44 for an Eco Candle Wick Thick (C2), ₹2.50 for a wick sticker and ₹0.83 for a care label. Fragrance is about 30% of that. Swapping to a 200 ml salsa jar at ₹29.50 brings the bill to ₹235.85. Packaging, labour, freight and GST are on top.
When in the year should I buy a kilogram of lemongrass oil?
February or early March, for a March-to-September season. Lemongrass sells into summer and the monsoon in India, and the autumn-winter market belongs to warm woods, spice and gourmand — Diwali falls on 8 November 2026 and is not a lemongrass occasion. Because the light citrus-herbal top notes are the first to go in storage, a kilogram bought in October sits four months before it is opened and is duller when it finally is. If you are ordering in August or later, buy 500 g rather than a kilogram.
How should I store a 500 g or 1 kg bottle of fragrance oil?
Tightly sealed, somewhere dark and cool, standing upright, away from the melter and out of direct sun. Decant a working bottle for the week's pouring so the stock bottle is opened once a fortnight rather than forty times a month, and minimise headspace by moving the remainder into a smaller container once a bottle is down to about a third. Write the date you broke the seal on the label. None of this costs anything and all of it matters more for a light citrus-herbal oil than for a heavy woody one.
₹5,200 either way
Buy the kilogram as two 500 g bottles, and open the second one in July.
Lemongrass and Lime at ₹116.52 / 15 g, ₹330 / 50 g, ₹590 / 100 g, ₹2,600 / 500 g and ₹5,200 / 1,000 g — ₹5.20 a gram at both bulk tiers. 92 fragrance oils in stock, Luxury Soy Wax Chunks from ₹299 / 500 g, Eco Candle Wicks from ₹59, and GST invoicing on every order. MSDS and IFRA documentation on request.

Customer reviews: The six reviews at the top of this page are genuine, published Judge.me reviews left by CSI customers on their product pages, and all six are recorded by Judge.me as verified buyers. They are for Citrus Lemon Fragrance Oil (Avanthi Cheeli, 5★, Nov 2025), Lavender Fragrance Oil (Priyanka Purohit, 5★, Sep 2026; Judy Roy, 5★, Dec 2025; Tina Raha, 4★, Jun 2025) and Blue Ocean Fragrance Oil (Yashvi Shah, 5★, Jul 2025; Sooraj R, 5★, Aug 2026). None of the six is a review of Lemongrass and Lime, which has no published review at the time of writing; nothing has been substituted, relabelled or invented to fill that gap. Names, ratings, dates and products are as recorded by Judge.me and wording is unedited.
