Fragrance Oil Pricing · Gilli Mitti (Patchouli)
The product is Gilli Mitti (Patchouli) and the kilogram is ₹8,960. Below: the full tier table, how many candles a kilogram actually pours at 8%, 10% and 13%, the fragrance cost per candle, and a consumption test that tells you whether to buy 1 kg or stop at 500g.

Quick answers — read this first
What is the 1 kg price of patchouli candle fragrance oil in India? Gilli Mitti (Patchouli) is ₹8,960 for 1 kg, which is ₹8.96 per gram. CSI live pricing, September 2026.

Is the kilogram cheaper per gram than the smaller bottles? No. ₹8.96 per gram at 50g, 100g, 500g and 1kg — the rate is flat. Only the 15g trial bottle costs more, at ₹9.33 per gram. The kilogram buys you fewer orders and no mid-season stock-out, not a lower rate.

How many candles does 1 kg make? 62 candles of 200g at an 8% load, 50 at 10%, 38 at 13%. At 100g fill it is 125, 100 and 76 candles respectively. Full table below.

Should I buy 1 kg or 500g? Buy 1 kg only if this single scent sells about 21 units a month at 200g and 8% — that clears a kilogram in a quarter. Below that, two 500g bottles cost exactly the same ₹8,960, so take one at ₹4,480 and keep ₹4,480 in the business.
The short answer
The number: ₹8,960 per kilogram for Gilli Mitti (Patchouli) — ₹8.96 per gram. Other tiers: ₹140 / 15g, ₹448 / 50g, ₹896 / 100g, ₹4,480 / 500g.
The finding: the kilogram is not a volume discount. The per-gram rate is flat at ₹8.96 from 50g upward. What changes is order frequency and stock-out risk, not cost.
The output: 1 kg pours 62 candles at 200g / 8% at ₹143.36 of fragrance each, or 125 candles at 100g / 8% at ₹71.68 each. The 13% column needs Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, whose stated ceiling is 13%.
What one kilogram of Gilli Mitti (Patchouli) pours — candles, by fill weight and load 100 g jar · 8% load125 candles 150 g jar · 8% load83 candles 200 g jar · 8% load62 candles 200 g jar · 10% load50 candles 200 g jar · 13% load38 candles 300 g jar · 13% load25 candles Bars are to scale · 1,000 g of oil ÷ (fill weight × load %) · whole candles only
Six real build specifications from the same kilogram, and the spread is five to one: a 100g votive at 8% gets 125 candles out of the bottle, a 300g jar at 13% gets 25. Before deciding whether ₹8,960 is a lot of money, decide which row is your product — that is what sets your true cost per candle. The 13% rows need a wax that states a 13% ceiling.
Straight answer
What is the price of 1 kg of patchouli candle fragrance oil in India, and should you buy it?
The oil is Gilli Mitti (Patchouli) and the kilogram is ₹8,960, or ₹8.96 per gram. The same ₹8.96 applies at 500g (₹4,480), 100g (₹896) and 50g (₹448); only the 15g trial bottle is dearer, at ₹140 and ₹9.33 per gram. The kilogram is therefore not a volume discount — it is a logistics decision. A kilogram pours 62 candles of 200g at an 8% load, at ₹143.36 of fragrance per candle, or 125 candles of 100g at ₹71.68 each. Two 500g bottles cost ₹8,960, precisely the kilogram price, so the only thing you gain by committing to one bottle is one fewer order and no risk of running out mid-season; the only thing you lose is ₹4,480 of working capital parked in a single scent. Our recommendation is blunt: unless this one scent moves around 21 units a month at 200g and 8%, buy the 500g. If you are still deciding between sizes at all, start with how to buy patchouli fragrance oil for candle making in India; if you are past the trial stage and buying for a production line, the patchouli wholesale page covers the volume conversation. Pair it with Luxury Soy Wax Chunks if you want the 13% headroom.
One line: ₹8,960 per kilogram, ₹8.96 per gram, flat across every tier from 50g up — so buy the kilogram for stock security, never for the rate.
Buying for a Diwali run — 8 November 2026? A kilogram poured at 200g and 8% is 62 candles, which is a single mid-size festive order. Gilli Mitti (Patchouli) 1 kg at ₹8,960, 500g at ₹4,480, or 100g at ₹896 if you are still testing the scent against your wax.

The price, and every tier around it

You came for a number. It is ₹8,960. The interesting part is what happens when you put it next to the other four tiers.

Patchouli on the CSI store is sold as Gilli Mitti (Patchouli) — the wet-earth, first-monsoon-rain accord that patchouli anchors, named for what Indian customers recognise it as. It ships in five sizes. Every figure below is the live variant price on the product page, which is always authoritative; CSI live pricing, September 2026.

₹

Gilli Mitti (Patchouli) — all five sizes
Read the third column before the second. The per-gram rate does not move once you are past the trial bottle — fifty grams, a hundred, five hundred and a full kilogram all cost ₹8.96 per gram. The fourth column is what most price pages leave out: how many finished 200g candles at an 8% load each bottle actually pours.
Size Price Per gram 200g candles @ 8%
15g ₹140 ₹9.33 ≈1 (trial only)
50g ₹448 ₹8.96 3
100g ₹896 ₹8.96 6
500g ₹4,480 ₹8.96 31
1kg ₹8,960 ₹8.96 62
₹143.36 of fragrance per 200g candle at an 8% load, at any tier from 50g up Buy Gilli Mitti (Patchouli)
The finding, stated plainly: the kilogram is not a discount. ₹4,480 × 2 = ₹8,960. Two 500g bottles and one 1kg bottle of Gilli Mitti cost exactly the same money for exactly the same oil. There is no per-gram reward for the larger commitment, so every argument for the kilogram has to be a non-price argument — and there are two good ones. One: a single order instead of two, so one shipping charge and one invoice instead of two. Two: no mid-season stock-out. If your only patchouli bottle empties at candle 29 of a 60-unit October order, the cost of that gap is not ₹4,480 of oil — it is a late delivery, an unplanned discount, or a customer who buys elsewhere next year. The kilogram is insurance against your own success, not a saving.

A flat rate here is normal rather than suspicious. Waxes step down with volume because packaging and freight are a large share of the total — Natural Soy Pearl Wax falls from ₹450 per kilogram at 1kg to ₹424.80 at 5kg and above, a genuine 5.6% step. Oils at CSI generally do not. Where you see a per-gram gap on an oil it is usually the 15g trial bottle being dearer, not the kilogram being cheaper, and Gilli Mitti follows that pattern exactly: ₹9.33 per gram at 15g against ₹8.96 everywhere else. The 15g bottle is a testing tool, priced as one. Buy it to check the scent against your wax, not to make candles with.

Where ₹8,960 sits · CSI 1 kg fragrance oil pricing, September 2026
Gilli Mitti against the rest of the kilogram range
Oil 1 kg Per gram Position
Citrus Lemon ₹2,832 ₹2.83 The cheapest kilogram in the catalogue
Fresh Strawberries ₹3,540 ₹3.54 Entry-level fruity
Woody Oud ₹4,531.20 ₹4.53 Mid-range woody workhorse
Sandalwood ₹5,026.80 ₹5.03 The festive volume scent
Vanilla Bean ₹7,646 ₹7.65 Premium gourmand
Mahogany Teakwood ₹8,800 ₹8.80 Immediately below Gilli Mitti
Gilli Mitti (Patchouli) ₹8,960 ₹8.96 Upper tier, well below the designer inspirations
Santal Noir ₹9,120 ₹9.12 Immediately above Gilli Mitti
Amber Oud Royal ₹11,640 ₹11.64 Luxury tier
Club De Nuit Intense inspired ₹24,056 ₹24.06 The most expensive kilogram on the store

So ₹8,960 is a premium kilogram but not an extreme one. Across all 92 oils in the fragrance oils collection, kilogram pricing runs from ₹2,832 to ₹24,056, and Gilli Mitti sits in the upper third — priced like the other complex naturals-led accords, not like a single-note citrus. Do the arithmetic on what that costs you: at 8% in a 200g candle, Gilli Mitti is ₹143.36 of fragrance and Citrus Lemon is ₹45.31 — a gap of ₹98.05 per candle, or ₹6,128 across a 62-candle kilogram. If your retail price cannot absorb that, the honest answer is that patchouli is not the scent for that line. Work through how to price candles in India 2026 before you commit the cash, and premium versus cheap fragrance oils if you are weighing the trade.

Two 500g bottles cost ₹8,960. One 1kg bottle costs ₹8,960. Buy the kilogram for the stock-out you will not have, not for a discount that does not exist.

What 1 kg actually makes

This is the table the page exists for. A kilogram of fragrance oil is 1,000 grams; the number of candles it pours is simply 1,000 divided by the grams of oil in each candle, and the grams of oil in each candle is the fill weight multiplied by the load percentage. A 200g candle at 8% takes 16g. A 300g candle at 13% takes 39g. Those two facts are the whole difference between 62 candles and 25 candles from the same bottle.

Output per kilogram · whole candles
How many candles 1 kg of Gilli Mitti pours, by fill weight and load
Fill weight @ 8% load @ 10% load @ 13% load
100 g 125 candles (8g each) 100 candles (10g) 76 candles (13g)
150 g 83 candles (12g) 66 candles (15g) 51 candles (19.5g)
200 g 62 candles (16g) 50 candles (20g) 38 candles (26g)
300 g 41 candles (24g) 33 candles (30g) 25 candles (39g)
The 13% column has a wax condition attached
Fragrance load ceilings are wax-manufacturer formulation limits, not regulatory limits — they describe how much oil a specific wax has been formulated to hold in solution. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks are rated up to 13%; Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (Flakes) up to 10%. If you pour CSI 464, the 13% column does not apply to you. Work to the ceiling stated on the wax you bought, and read how to verify wax quality before you buy if you are switching supplier.

Now the same grid as money, because candle counts are only half of what you need. At a flat ₹8.96 per gram the cost per candle is simply grams of oil × ₹8.96 — and it is identical whether you bought the 50g bottle or the kilogram. The kilogram does not make your candles cheaper to build. It makes them easier to keep building.

Fragrance cost per candle · Gilli Mitti at ₹8.96/g
What the patchouli line costs you in each finished candle
Fill weight @ 8% load @ 10% load @ 13% load
100 g ₹71.68 ₹89.60 ₹116.48
150 g ₹107.52 ₹134.40 ₹174.72
200 g ₹143.36 ₹179.20 ₹232.96
300 g ₹215.04 ₹268.80 ₹349.44

Two things fall out of that grid. First, the jump from 8% to 13% on a 300g candle costs ₹134.40 of extra fragrance per unit — ₹215.04 becomes ₹349.44 — and shrinks the kilogram from 41 candles to 25. That is an expensive way to chase throw when cure time, wick size and pour temperature are free. Second, ₹71.68 in a 100g votive is a sane ingredient cost, while ₹349.44 in a 300g jar demands a premium retail price to work at all. If Gilli Mitti feels expensive, the fix is usually a smaller fill weight, not a lower load. A 100g candle at a full 8% smells correct; a 300g candle at 5% smells like nothing and wastes the wax too.

Arithmetic used above: candles per kilogram = 1,000 g ÷ (fill weight × load %), rounded down to whole candles. Fragrance cost per candle = grams of oil × ₹8.96. Gilli Mitti (Patchouli) at ₹8,960 / 1kg, ₹4,480 / 500g, ₹896 / 100g, ₹448 / 50g, ₹140 / 15g. Fragrance ceilings: up to 13% on Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, up to 10% on Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464, both stated by the wax manufacturer.

Is 1 kg the right buy for you? The consumption test

A kilogram is the right size when it empties. Everything else is a stock problem wearing a discount's clothes — and there is no discount here either.

Run this test on your own sales figures. Take a season as three months — the realistic length of a festive window, from the first October orders to the post-Diwali and wedding tail. A kilogram is the right buy if this single scent consumes 1,000g of oil inside that window. Which means:

1
Work out grams of oil per candleFill weight × load. A 200g candle at 8% is 16g; a 150g candle at 10% is 15g. Use your actual recipe and confirm it on a weighing scale at ₹354 — load is a weight percentage, so millilitres will not give a repeatable figure.
2
Divide 333 by that number1,000 g over three months is about 333 g a month. So your monthly threshold is 333 ÷ grams per candle. That is how many units of this one scent you need to sell every month for the kilogram to clear in a season.
3
Compare it with what patchouli actually sellsNot your whole range — patchouli specifically. If Gilli Mitti is one of eight scents and you move 120 candles a month in total, your patchouli number is nearer 15 than 120, and 15 is below the threshold for a 200g build.
The threshold, per build · 1 kg cleared in one three-month season
Monthly units of this one scent needed to justify the kilogram
Build Oil per candle Candles per kg Units / month needed
100 g @ 8% 8 g 125 42
150 g @ 8% 12 g 83 28
200 g @ 8% 16 g 62 21
200 g @ 10% 20 g 50 17
300 g @ 10% 30 g 33 11
300 g @ 13% 39 g 25 9
The threshold, in one sentence
For the standard commercial build — a 200g jar at an 8% load — you need to sell about 21 patchouli candles a month for a kilogram to turn over in a season.
Above roughly 21 a month, the kilogram is the correct size and the single order is worth having. Below it, you are holding oil you will still be holding next Diwali, and the 500g bottle at ₹4,480 gives you the identical ₹8.96 per gram with half the cash committed. If you pour 300g jars at 13% the threshold falls to about 9 a month, because each candle eats 39g; if you pour 100g votives at 8% it rises to 42 a month, because each candle eats only 8g.

Note which way the threshold moves, because it is counter-intuitive. Larger candles make a kilogram easier to justify, not harder. A brand selling nine 300g jars a month at 13% clears a kilogram in a quarter; a brand selling forty 100g votives does not, because it needs forty-two. The size of your candle matters more here than the size of your business — which is why a small, high-value 300g line can sensibly buy a kilogram while a higher-volume votive brand should not.

Against our own interest: buy the 500g. We would rather sell you ₹8,960 than ₹4,480, and we are telling you that for most readers of this page the 500g bottle is the right purchase. The reasoning: the per-gram rate is identical, so you lose nothing on price; the 500g bottle at ₹4,480 pours 31 candles at 200g and 8%, a solid festive order on its own; and it leaves ₹4,480 free for jars, wax, wicks or advertising, all of which turn over faster than a second half-kilogram of one scent. If the scent sells, you reorder — the product page shows live stock. The only scenario where that logic breaks is a committed, dated bulk order — a corporate gifting contract, a wedding-favour run, a stockist purchase order — where you already know the unit count and running out is not an option. In that case buy the kilogram, and buy it early. More on the timing in how early candle brands should order fragrance oils for Diwali.

If patchouli is a permanent line rather than a festive special, run the test on a six-month horizon and halve the thresholds: a 200g / 8% build then needs about 11 units a month sustained over six months. That is legitimate, provided your storage is genuinely good — which is the part of this decision nobody puts on a price page.

The full bill of materials for one 200g patchouli candle

A fragrance price only means something next to the rest of the build. Below is a complete, costed 200g container candle using Gilli Mitti at 8%, every line at the bulk tier a working brand actually buys at. It excludes dye, outer packaging, labels beyond the care sticker, labour and shipping, which vary too much between brands to be useful as one number.

200g container candle · Gilli Mitti at 8% · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Every material line, at bulk tier
Line Product & tier Quantity Cost
Fragrance Gilli Mitti (Patchouli) — 1 kg at ₹8,960 (₹8.96/g) 16 g ₹143.36
Wax Luxury Soy Wax Chunks — 10 kg at ₹5,999 (₹0.5999/g) 184 g ₹110.38
Vessel 200ml Salsa Glass Jar, golden lid — 50 pcs at ₹1,475 1 jar ₹29.50
Wick Eco Candle Wicks Thick (C2) — 100 at ₹944 1 wick ₹9.44
Wick sticker Candle Wick Stickers — sheet of 40 at ₹100 1 sticker ₹2.50
Care label Candle Care Stickers Roll — 500 at ₹413 1 sticker ₹0.83
Total Materials only — no dye, packaging, labour or freight 1 candle ₹296.01

The fragrance is ₹143.36 of a ₹296.01 build, which is 48.4% — very nearly half the material cost, from a component that is 8% of the candle's weight. Everything else together, wax and glass and wick and two stickers, comes to ₹152.65. That ratio tells you where your margin lives. If you want the candle cheaper, arguing about jars will not get you there: the jar is ₹29.50. The levers that matter are fill weight, load percentage and choice of oil.

What happens at 13%. Push the same candle to the top of the Luxury Soy Wax Chunks ceiling and the oil goes to 26g at ₹232.96, the wax falls to 174g at ₹104.38, and the total build becomes ₹379.61 — with fragrance now 61.4% of it. You have added ₹83.60 of cost per candle and cut the kilogram from 62 candles to 38. Sometimes that is correct, on a flagship jar sold at a premium price. Very often it is a maker buying throw that a fourteen-day cure and a correctly sized wick would have given away free. Test the 8% build properly first — the wick-by-diameter guide is the place to start, because a 63 mm jar with an undersized wick never opens a full melt pool and no amount of extra oil fixes that.

Scaled up, that is a coherent purchase order. Sixty-two 200g candles at ₹296.01 of materials each is ₹18,352.62 for a complete 62-unit patchouli run: the ₹8,960 kilogram, roughly 11.4 kg of wax, 62 jars, 62 wicks and the stickers. Holding that whole picture is more useful than staring at ₹8,960 alone. If you are building a first purchase order from scratch, the complete candle making raw material list and how much fragrance oil a candle business needs cover the rest of the sheet.

Everything in that bill of materials ships from one place. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks from ₹299/500g with a stated 13% ceiling, 200ml Salsa jars at ₹29.50 each in fifties, Eco Candle Wicks from ₹59, and Gilli Mitti (Patchouli) in five sizes. One order, one invoice, one GST bill.

Storing a kilogram without losing it

A 100g bottle is used up before storage matters. A kilogram is not, and a kilogram you have degraded is a ₹8,960 write-off rather than a ₹896 one. There are four rules.

1
Keep it sealedClose the cap fully after every decant. Air in the headspace oxidises the top notes, and a bottle opened twenty times loses more character than one opened twice. This is the reason to decant rather than pour from the kilogram directly.
2
Keep it darkStore in the carton it arrived in, or in a closed cupboard. Sunlight on a fragrance bottle does visible, permanent damage, and a window-side shelf in an Indian summer is the worst place in your workshop.
3
Keep it cool and stableRoom temperature, away from the melter, the hot plate and any wall that gets afternoon sun. Repeated heating and cooling cycles are harder on an oil than a steady warm room.
4
Decant a working bottleKeep the kilogram sealed as your reserve and fill a small bottle for the bench — a week's worth, or one batch's worth. You handle, weigh and spill from the small bottle, so the kilogram is opened once a week instead of ten times a day. That one habit is the difference between a kilogram that lasts a season well and one that smells tired by candle forty.
Label the decant, always
Write the scent name and decant date on the working bottle. An unlabelled amber bottle on a bench with six others is a batch you cannot document, and that is a recipe you cannot repeat. Weigh every addition on a weighing scale at ₹354 and check wax temperature with a pen thermometer at ₹354 — at ₹8.96 a gram, guessing is expensive.

One note specific to patchouli. Earthy, patchouli-led accords are base-note heavy, which is what makes them carry from a cool soy melt pool and also what makes them forgiving in storage — there is less delicate top-note material to lose than in a Citrus Lemon. That does not override the consumption test, but if you are borderline at eighteen or nineteen units a month, the chemistry argues for the kilogram rather than against it. Renu, who bought the oil, put it plainly: "Gilli Mitti and Pumpkin Spice scents are amazing and authentic." Authentic is the right word for what this accord has to get right — wet earth reads as fake immediately if it is thin.

Documentation, GST and ordering a kilogram

At the kilogram level you are no longer a hobby buyer, and the paperwork matters as much as the price.

What comes with the order
IFRA, MSDS, GST and the WhatsApp route
Item What it is How to get it
IFRA documentation Your fragrance supplier's usage guidance stated per application category — the document you refer to when a stockist or a gifting client asks what the oil is certified for Request on WhatsApp against the order, before or after you buy
MSDS The material safety data sheet: handling, storage, first aid and transport classification for the oil Request on WhatsApp; supplied per product
GST invoice A tax invoice against your GSTIN, which is what lets a registered business claim input credit on a ₹8,960 purchase Provided on every order — give your GSTIN at checkout or on WhatsApp
Bulk & stock confirmation Live availability on a kilogram line before you commit to a dated client order Message +91 7397976926 with the scent and the quantity

Two notes on that table. Fragrance load ceilings and IFRA guidance are different documents answering different questions: the 10% and 13% figures on this page are wax formulation limits stated by the wax manufacturer, while IFRA guidance comes from the fragrance side and states usage per application. You need both. And if the kilogram is going into a dated commercial order, confirm stock on WhatsApp before you promise the delivery date, not after — it takes a minute and it is the cheapest risk control a small brand has. For the wider sourcing picture, the complete wholesale buyer's guide and how premium brands buy fragrance wholesale are the next reads.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. On a page about a ₹8,960 purchase that matters, because the commercially convenient version of this article would bury the fact that the kilogram carries no per-gram saving. We put it in the first screen instead, and recommended the 500g bottle for most readers, because a maker who buys too much of one scent stops trusting the supplier who sold it to them.

Every price here is the live variant price on the CSI store in September 2026 and links to the product it belongs to, where current pricing and specification always take precedence. The candle counts, per-candle costs and consumption thresholds are arithmetic from those prices — 1,000 g divided by fill weight times load, and grams times ₹8.96 — shown openly so you can check them against your own recipe. The 13% and 10% figures are the wax manufacturers' stated maximum loads for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464; they are formulation limits, not regulatory limits, and are not interchangeable between waxes.

CSI stocks 92 fragrance oils and supplies GST invoicing on every order, with MSDS and IFRA documentation available on request. For bulk pricing, stock confirmation on a kilogram line, or help matching a wick to a specific jar diameter, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

No. Both work out to ₹8.96 per gram, and two 500g bottles at ₹4,480 each come to ₹8,960 — exactly the kilogram price. The per-gram rate is flat at 50g, 100g, 500g and 1kg; only the 15g trial bottle is dearer at ₹9.33 per gram. What the kilogram buys is one order instead of two and no risk of running out mid-season, not a lower rate.
How many candles will 1 kg of patchouli fragrance oil make?
It depends entirely on fill weight and load. At an 8% load: 125 candles of 100g, 83 of 150g, 62 of 200g, or 41 of 300g. At 10%: 100, 66, 50 and 33. At 13%: 76, 51, 38 and 25. The arithmetic is 1,000 g divided by (fill weight × load %). The 13% figures require a wax with a stated 13% ceiling, such as Luxury Soy Wax Chunks.
How much does the fragrance cost per candle?
At ₹8.96 per gram: ₹71.68 in a 100g candle at 8%, ₹143.36 in a 200g candle at 8%, and ₹232.96 in a 200g candle at 13%. In a complete 200g build at 8% — Gilli Mitti, Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, a 200ml Salsa jar, an Eco Wick, a wick sticker and a care label — the total material cost is ₹296.01, of which the fragrance is 48.4%.
Should I buy 1 kg or 500g of patchouli fragrance oil?
Run the consumption test. Take 333 g a month as a kilogram spread over a three-month season and divide by the grams of oil in your candle. For a 200g candle at 8% (16g of oil) the threshold is about 21 units a month of that one scent. Sell more than that and the kilogram clears in a season; sell less and the 500g bottle at ₹4,480 gives you the identical ₹8.96 per gram with half the cash committed. For most readers, that is the better buy.
What fragrance load should I use for patchouli in soy wax?
Work to the ceiling stated by your wax manufacturer, not to a universal number. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks are rated up to 13% and Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (Flakes) up to 10% — wax formulation limits, not regulatory limits. Most commercial patchouli builds work well at 8%, because the accord is base-note heavy and carries from a cool soy pool. Prove the 8% build with a full cure and a correctly sized wick before you spend ₹83.60 more per candle going to 13%.
