Vanilla Fragrance Oil 1 Kg Wholesale Price in India
Share
So where is the discount? There isn't one to find, and that is the point. The gap between the cheapest and the dearest vanilla kilogram is ₹4,044.20 — 88.8%. No trade discount in Indian candle supply is worth 88.8%, so the oil you pick is worth more than any rate you could ask for.
Does the kilogram itself save money? Barely, and on one vanilla it does not. Tobacco Vanilla's kilogram saves ₹499 against two 500 g packs. Vanilla Bean's saves ₹34. Dark Vanilla Oud's kilogram is ₹1 dearer than two 500 g packs.
How many candles does 1 kg make? 62 candles of 200 g at an 8% load — 16 g of oil each, with 8 g left over. That is the number to test your requirement against before you buy a kilogram of anything.
The seven vanillas, cheapest first — and why the question has no single answer
CSI stocks seven oils in the vanilla family — a cinnamon-led warm vanilla, an oud-vanilla, a tobacco-vanilla, two straight vanillas, a citrus-floral vanilla and a coffee-tobacco-vanilla. Different materials, so different prices. Here is the whole family, cheapest kilogram first, with every pack size CSI actually lists. Prices are CSI live pricing, September 2026, and the linked product page is always authoritative.
| Vanilla oil | 15 g | 50 g | 100 g | 500 g | 1 kg | ₹/g at 1 kg |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cinnamon Vanilla | ₹106.20 | ₹271.40 | ₹483.80 | ₹2,301.00 | ₹4,554.80 | ₹4.555 |
| Dark Vanilla Oud | ₹105.02 | ₹320.00 | ₹590.00 | ₹2,845.00 | ₹5,691.00 | ₹5.691 |
| Tobacco Vanilla | — | — | ₹799.00 | ₹3,999.00 | ₹7,499.00 | ₹7.499 |
| Vanilla Bean | ₹130.00 | ₹410.00 | ₹790.00 | ₹3,840.00 | ₹7,646.00 | ₹7.646 |
| Dark Vanilla | ₹130.00 | ₹410.00 | ₹790.00 | ₹3,840.00 | ₹7,646.00 | ₹7.646 |
| Vanilla Orange Blossom | — | ₹415.00 | ₹829.00 | — (no 500 g) | ₹8,294.00 | ₹8.294 |
| Coffee Vanilla Tobacco | — | ₹449.00 | ₹899.00 | ₹4,399.00 | ₹8,599.00 | ₹8.599 |
Now do the subtraction that matters. ₹8,599 − ₹4,554.80 = ₹4,044.20. Expressed against the cheaper oil's own price, that is 88.8%. The dearest vanilla kilogram costs 1.888 times the cheapest. Set that beside whatever trade discount you were hoping to be offered when you searched for a wholesale price. A 5% concession on Vanilla Bean would be ₹382.30 on the kilogram; a 10% concession would be ₹764.60. Choosing Cinnamon Vanilla instead of Vanilla Bean saves ₹3,091.20 on the same kilogram — four times what a 10% discount would give you, and it is available right now, at the published price, without a phone call.
Is the kilogram a wholesale tier? On most vanillas, no — and on one it costs you a rupee
This is the part of the page that argues against its own title. A buyer searching for a 1 kg wholesale price generally assumes the kilogram is the wholesale tier: that stepping up from 500 g to 1 kg is where the trade rate begins. On CSI's vanillas, that assumption does not survive contact with the numbers. Here is the kilogram set against two 500 g packs of the same oil — the honest test of whether the bigger bottle is a discount or just a bigger bottle.
| Vanilla oil | 2 × 500 g | 1 kg | Kilogram saves | As % of 2 × 500 g |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tobacco Vanilla | ₹7,998.00 | ₹7,499.00 | +₹499.00 | 6.24% — the best in the set |
| Coffee Vanilla Tobacco | ₹8,798.00 | ₹8,599.00 | +₹199.00 | 2.26% |
| Cinnamon Vanilla | ₹4,602.00 | ₹4,554.80 | +₹47.20 | 1.03% |
| Vanilla Bean / Dark Vanilla | ₹7,680.00 | ₹7,646.00 | +₹34.00 | 0.44% |
| Dark Vanilla Oud | ₹5,690.00 | ₹5,691.00 | −₹1.00 (dearer) | the kilogram is a ₹1 penalty |
| Vanilla Orange Blossom | no 500 g variant | ₹8,294.00 | cannot be tested | ladder is 50 g / 100 g / 1 kg only |
So across the vanilla family the kilogram saves somewhere between −₹1 and +₹499. On Vanilla Bean, the oil most people actually mean when they type "vanilla fragrance oil", the kilogram saves ₹34 — 0.44%, which is not a wholesale tier by any definition. On Dark Vanilla Oud the kilogram is one rupee more expensive than buying two 500 g bottles. That is not a misprint and it is not a trap; it is what happens when a catalogue is priced per product rather than by a quantity-break formula.
There is also a ceiling on the ladder itself. CSI's fragrance-oil ladder stops at 1 kg. There is no 2 kg, 5 kg or 10 kg fragrance-oil pack anywhere in the catalogue — not for vanilla, not for anything. If you need 5 kg of Vanilla Bean, that is 5 × ₹7,646 = ₹38,230, supplied as five separate 1 kg bottles. Ten kilograms is 10 × ₹7,646 = ₹76,460, as ten bottles. The cart price does not drop automatically above a kilogram, because there is nothing above a kilogram for it to drop to. At that volume, ask for a quote rather than assuming one exists — and read buying fragrance oils in bulk in India alongside it.
What actually cuts the cost of a vanilla candle, ranked by how much money it moves
Here is a complete 200 g soy container candle at an 8% fragrance load, built entirely from in-stock CSI items at published prices. One clarification first, because it is the commonest cause of a wrong order: on CSI's pages the fragrance percentage is a share of the finished candle's total weight. A 200 g candle at 8% is therefore 16 g of oil and 184 g of wax, not 200 g of wax plus 16 g of oil. For a batch, 10 kg of wax at that convention takes 0.870 kg of oil; if you instead mean 8% of the wax weight, it is 0.8 kg. Decide which you mean before you order, and write it on the recipe card.
| Line | Item and price basis | Quantity | Cost | Share of bill |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fragrance | Vanilla Bean at ₹7,646 / 1 kg = ₹7.646/g | 16 g | ₹122.34 | 41.4% |
| Wax | Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at ₹507.40 / 1 kg = ₹0.5074/g | 184 g | ₹93.36 | 31.6% |
| Vessel | Black Matte Glass Jar at ₹708 per pack of 10 | 1 | ₹70.80 | 23.9% |
| Wick | Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) at ₹590 per 100 | 1 | ₹5.90 | 2.0% |
| Wick sticker | Candle Wick Stickers at ₹100 per sheet of 40 | 1 | ₹2.50 | 0.8% |
| Care sticker | Candle Care Stickers Roll at ₹413 per 500 | 1 | ₹0.83 | 0.3% |
| Total | Materials only — no labour, packaging, shipping or overhead | — | ₹295.72 | 100% |
The oil is 41.4% of the materials bill — the largest single line, which is why it attracts the attention. But note what a hypothetical 10% discount on the oil would be worth: ₹12.23 on a ₹295.72 candle, or 4.1% of the bill. Now look at what you can do today without asking anyone.
Where vanilla sits in CSI's price range — and who should not buy it
Vanilla is not a mid-priced fragrance family at CSI. It is near the top. The whole catalogue of 92 oils runs from Citrus Lemon at ₹2,832 per kilogram (₹2.832/g) to Club De Nuit Intense inspired at ₹24,056 per kilogram (₹24.056/g). Vanilla occupies the ₹4.555 to ₹8.599 band — and even the cheapest vanilla kilogram is ₹1,722.80 more than the cheapest oil in the catalogue, 1.608 times the price.
| Oil | 1 kg | ₹/g | Fragrance in a 200 g candle @ 8% |
|---|---|---|---|
| Citrus Lemon — cheapest oil in the catalogue | ₹2,832.00 | ₹2.832 | ₹45.31 |
| Cinnamon Vanilla — cheapest vanilla | ₹4,554.80 | ₹4.555 | ₹72.88 |
| Dark Vanilla Oud | ₹5,691.00 | ₹5.691 | ₹91.06 |
| Tobacco Vanilla | ₹7,499.00 | ₹7.499 | ₹119.98 |
| Vanilla Bean / Dark Vanilla | ₹7,646.00 | ₹7.646 | ₹122.34 |
| Vanilla Orange Blossom | ₹8,294.00 | ₹8.294 | ₹132.70 |
| Coffee Vanilla Tobacco — dearest vanilla | ₹8,599.00 | ₹8.599 | ₹137.58 |
| Club De Nuit Intense inspired — dearest in the catalogue | ₹24,056.00 | ₹24.056 | ₹384.90 |
Which brings us to how much to buy. At 200 g and 8%, 1 kg makes 62 candles, 500 g makes 31, 100 g makes 6, and 50 g makes 3 — a 15 g bottle does not quite make one. So the kilogram is only the right tier when a single scent is moving at a real rate. A workable rule: buy the kilogram when that one scent consumes 500 g inside about two months — roughly 15 or more 200 g candles a month — because at that rate the kilogram is about four months of stock rather than a year of it. And the threshold is higher for a dear oil than a cheap one: a Vanilla Bean kilogram is ₹7,646 of cash sitting on a shelf, about ₹1,911 a month across those four months, against ₹4,554.80 and about ₹1,139 a month for Cinnamon Vanilla. Same 62 candles, two-thirds more working capital tied up. If you are still sizing a first order, how much fragrance oil a candle business needs does the volume arithmetic in full.
The one thing a kilogram buyer must plan for: vanillin darkens wax
This is the technical point that matters more to a kilogram buyer than to a 100 g buyer, and it is rarely mentioned on a wholesale-price page. Fragrance oils containing vanillin are known to darken wax over time. It is formulation chemistry — vanillin is a phenolic aldehyde and it discolours on exposure to air, light and heat — and it is not a defect, not contamination, and not a sign that the oil was wrongly stored. It bites harder at a kilogram for a simple reason: a kilogram is stock you hold for longer. Sixty-two candles' worth of oil is poured across weeks or months, so the candles you pour first will have been sitting longer than the ones you pour last by the time a customer sees them side by side.
And here is the part that most pages skip. CSI publishes no discolouration test, no shade chart, no timescale and no shelf-life figure for these oils, and this page invents none. Anyone quoting you "turns cream in 30 days" or "stable for 24 months" for a CSI vanilla is telling you something CSI has not published. What CSI does supply, on request, is MSDS and IFRA documentation for the oil you are buying, which is the paperwork that actually tells you what is in the bottle. Ask for it on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926, and test the rest yourself in your own wax, in your own jars, in your own conditions. That is the only discolouration data that will ever apply to your product.
What to ask a supplier instead of "what's your wholesale price"
If you are buying a kilogram at a time, the price is the easiest thing to find out and the least likely to hurt you. These five questions decide whether the oil costs you money after the invoice — and each of them is a cost question, not a paperwork question.
| Ask this | Why it is a cost question |
|---|---|
| Will this bottle smell like the last one? Batch consistency, and whether the oil is reformulated between batches. | A shifted scent means re-testing the wick, re-curing, and in the worst case a customer who says your candle changed. That is scrapped stock and lost reorders, and either one costs more than the ₹499 the kilogram saves you on Tobacco Vanilla. |
| Can I have the IFRA and MSDS documentation? CSI supplies both on request. | IFRA usage guidance tells you the maximum this material is documented for in your application; MSDS governs storage, handling and transport. Without them you are guessing at your own compliance, and guessing gets expensive once you sell through a retailer or export. |
| Do I get a GST invoice? CSI invoices with GST. | A GST invoice is input credit. Buying the same kilogram without one makes the oil genuinely more expensive to a registered business, which is a bigger difference than most discounts being dangled at you. |
| Will this exact oil still be listed in three months? | A scent you build a product line around and then cannot buy again is the most expensive thing on this list. You lose the SKU, the photography, the listing and the repeat customer. |
| What pack sizes exist, and where does the ladder stop? | It decides how you buy. CSI's ladder is at most 15 g / 50 g / 100 g / 500 g / 1 kg and stops there — so a 5 kg requirement is five bottles at 5 × the 1 kg price, and you should plan storage and cash flow around that rather than around a drum that does not exist. |
Notice what is missing from that list: the discount. Not because asking is rude, but because on a published single-ladder catalogue the answer is already on the product page, and the five questions above are where the money actually is. The complete fragrance-oil wholesale buyer's guide and how premium brands buy fragrance wholesale cover the ground this page does not.
CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA sells the oil this page tells you to buy less of. The commercially convenient version of a wholesale-price page hints at a trade rate, collects an enquiry and sorts it out later. We have instead told you that there is one ladder, that it is the same for everyone, that the kilogram saves ₹34 on Vanilla Bean and costs ₹1 extra on Dark Vanilla Oud, and that if your brief is a cheap scented candle you should be buying Citrus Lemon rather than any vanilla we stock.
Every price on this page is a live CSI variant price at September 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing and specification always take precedence. Fragrance ceilings quoted — up to 10% for Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 and up to 13% for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks — are formulation limits stated by the wax maker, not regulatory limits, and they are not interchangeable between waxes. CSI stocks 92 fragrance oils, seven of them in the vanilla family. No slab, rate card, trade tier, minimum order quantity, credit term, discolouration test, shade chart or shelf-life figure has been published by CSI, and none has been invented here.

Customer reviews: The six reviews at the top of this page are genuine, published Judge.me reviews left on CSI product pages. Names, star ratings, dates and products are as recorded by Judge.me; "Verified buyer" appears only where Judge.me recorded the review as verified. Four are vanilla-family oils — Cinnamon Vanilla (Sneha Tamang, Punam Sarma), Dark Vanilla Oud (Suman Bisht) and Dark Vanilla Fragrance (Anonymous) — and two are oils and waxes priced on this page: Citrus Lemon Fragrance Oil (Avanthi Cheeli) and Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (Jaya Sawlani). None is a Vanilla Bean review; the CSI review bank contains none, and none has been fabricated to fill the gap. None of the six mentions a wholesale rate, a trade account or a discount. Two longer reviews are shortened with an ellipsis and are otherwise unedited, original spelling included.
