How long each lasts

Usage
Months of supply
200 g candles / month Wax / month 10 kg lasts 25 kg lasts
50 9.7 kg 1.0 months 2.6 months
100 19.3 kg 0.5 months 1.3 months
200 38.6 kg 0.3 months 0.6 months
400 77.3 kg 0.1 months 0.3 months

No 25 kg pack is listed; 25 kg is 2 × 10 kg + 1 × 5 kg of CSI 464 (₹12,685.00) — the same per kilogram as 10 kg. The only reasons to buy 25 kg at once are fewer orders and one batch of wax for a run.

Twenty-five kilograms is a cash and storage decision

There is no 25 kg bag on CSI's list. Buying 25 kg means combining listed packs, such as two 10 kg bags and one 5 kg bag. For CSI 464 that comes to ₹12,685.00, against ₹5,074.00 for a single 10 kg bag. The per-kilogram price is the same.

The difference, 12,685 − 5,074 = 7,611 rupees, buys you no discount at all. It is cash that has turned into wax on a shelf: money you cannot spend on oil, jars or a festive promotion until those candles are poured and sold.

Ask how long 25 kg will really last

At 100 candles of 200 g a month, with 5% wastage, you use about 19.3 kg. Twenty-five kilograms lasts a little over a month, which is a sensible stock. At 50 candles a month you use about 9.7 kg, and 25 kg would sit for more than two months. That is not harmful for CSI 464 or CSI 468, which state a 60-month shelf life in cool, dry storage. It is still idle money.

Where you keep it matters in India

Summer in north and west India routinely reaches 40–45°C, and the monsoon brings long, humid months. A store room under a hot roof or next to a damp wall is a poor home for 25 kg of wax. Keep bags sealed, off the floor and out of direct sun. If you have no cool corner, a smaller stock that you turn over quickly is the safer choice.

The trap: buying 25 kg of a wax you have only tested in a handful of candles. Buy it after one full 10 kg bag has behaved well in production, not before.

When 25 kg at once makes sense

Two reasons justify it. You have a large order and want all its candles from one purchase, or you want fewer orders in a busy season. For Pearl, a 25 kg combination costs ₹10,620.00, and a single 50 kg bag is listed if you use it quickly. CSI 464's product page mentions a 25 kg format, but it is not a listed size, so ask on WhatsApp (+91 7397976926) if you want it.

Rule of thumb
Hold roughly one month of wax plus your wastage allowance. More than that should have a reason you can name.

Argue against interest
Buy the wax your candle needs, not the bag that looks professional.
We would sell more by telling you to buy 10 kg. On most of our waxes it is not cheaper per kilogram, and wax you cannot use before summer is a storage problem.
Price the candle, not the kilogram.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. We publish every pack price, so every per-kilogram and per-candle figure here can be checked against the product pages — including the ones that show a bigger bag is not cheaper.

Prices are taken from live CSI stock in September 2026. Where a product page does not publish a specification, this guide says so rather than filling the gap.

Figures verified September 2026 (CSI live pricing): Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (flakes): ₹260.00 / 500 g, ₹507.40 / 1 kg, ₹2,537.00 / 5 kg, ₹5,074.00 / 10 kg; Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 (flakes): ₹325.00 / 500 g, ₹650.00 / 1 kg, ₹3,185.00 / 5 kg, ₹6,370.00 / 10 kg; Eco Soy CSI 400: ₹399.00 / 1 kg, ₹1,996.00 / 5 kg. Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) ₹5.90 each; Thick (C2) ₹9.44 each. Microcrystalline and Vybar usage rates are as stated on their product pages. Collection counts: Candle Wax 15, Fragrance Oils 93, Candle Wicks 7, Containers 81, Moulds 62, Dyes 25.

Assumptions: Fragrance load 8% of total candle weight, so wax is 92% of the fill (a 200 g candle = 184 g wax + 16 g oil). Order plans add a 5% wastage allowance (10% where stated for festive buffers). "Cheapest listed packs" is the lowest-cost combination of listed pack sizes, preferring fewer bags when prices tie within a few rupees. Candle counts are rounded down. Costs are core materials only and exclude jar, label, packaging, labour, freight and GST unless stated. Wax stated fragrance maximums are the wax maker's formulation limits, not regulatory limits. Pack sizes not listed on the store (2, 20, 25, 100 kg) are shown as combinations of listed packs; larger quantities are quoted on WhatsApp. Diwali 2026 falls on 8 November.
