A thousand jars at the listed ceiling

The table multiplies the largest listed pack of each in-stock jar up to one thousand. On most jars the per-jar price is flat across packs, so the ceiling is the same however you build it; on clear Salsa and Mini jars it holds only if you buy in the packs shown. The "cart lines" column is a practical note: it tells you how many packs one person would need to add, which is the clearest sign that an order belongs in a WhatsApp message instead.

The range runs from ₹21,240 to ₹1,07,000 for a thousand jars — a five-fold spread that is almost entirely about what the jar is, not how it is packed. At this volume, the listed price is a ceiling you can plan a business case around, and the right next step is a WhatsApp conversation about the schedule rather than two hundred cart lines of 5-packs.

Months of cover: who actually needs 1,000 jars

A thousand jars is not a large number for an established candle business and a very large one for a new brand. The useful way to decide is to turn it into time — how many months of pouring the thousand represents at your real rate — and then into cash per month of cover.

The column that matters is "1,000 jars last". Anything much beyond a season of glass in cartons carries risks that have nothing to do with price: a design refresh you can't make because you have eight months of the old jar, a label size locked to a jar you have since outgrown, a wick tested for one vessel when your customers have moved to another. Cash tied up in a 1,000-candle run

Here are two complete thousand-candle builds at listed prices: 150 g candles in the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid and 70 g votives in the Clear Glass Votive Jar. Wax is Luxury Soy Wax Chunks in 10 kg bags (₹5,999) covering a 5% planning allowance; oil is Lavender Fragrance Oil in 1 kg bottles (₹5,221), because no larger fragrance pack is listed; load is 8% of the finished candle. Every candle gets an Eco Candle Wick C1 from the 1,000-pack plus a 100-pack of spares, a wick sticker, and a label from the Candle Care Stickers Roll of 1,000.

In both builds, wax and oil together cost more than the jars — ₹1,52,637 against ₹94,400 in the Clear Golden Lid build, and ₹73,319 against ₹31,860 in the votive build. That is the case for staging: not because the jars are expensive, but because a thousand jars delivered in one go commits you to buying their fill on the same timetable if they are to earn anything back. One delivery or four call-offs

A call-off is simply a planned delivery drawn from a larger committed quantity. With listed packs you can build your own: decide the thousand, then place four orders of 250 on dates you set. The question is whether splitting changes the listed price — and on three of the four jar lines below, it doesn't.

The Mini row is the only catch. Its 50-pack is ₹23.60 a jar against ₹21.24 in the 100-pack, so every 250 built with a 50 carries ₹118 extra. Call Mini jars off in hundreds — 300, 300 and 400, say — and the thousand stays at ₹21,240. On every other row, the listed total is identical, which means the only thing one delivery of a thousand buys you at listed prices is fewer delivery days. What it costs you is cash and floor.

Where 1,000 jars live

Glass jars don't compress. CSI's pages don't state carton dimensions or jars per carton, so carton space is a question for the quote. What you can calculate now is the footprint of the jars themselves, from stated dimensions — which is exactly the space you need when they are unpacked, checked, washed and drying.

The Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid states a 7 cm outer diameter; the matte range states a 7 cm width. Upright in a tight grid, each takes 49 cm². A thousand take 49,000 cm², or 4.9 m² — a grid of 50 × 20 jars, about 3.5 m by 1.4 m. The smaller shiny jars state 6 cm diameter, 36 cm² each, so a thousand take 3.6 m². In four call-offs of 250, the most you ever handle is about 1.23 m² of 7 cm jars at once, which fits a normal work table.

Splitting 1,000 across your range

Very few businesses buy a thousand of one jar. A more typical thousand is a main candle, a festive or premium variant and a sampler. Here is one worked example at listed prices, chosen to show how the packs combine — not a recommendation for your mix.

Two things follow from a split like this. First, the wick order splits too: the 800 Salsa jars might all take C2 while the 200 Minis need something else entirely, so a single 1,000-pack of one wick may be the wrong buy — the 1,000-wick guide covers that decision. Second, every jar line in a thousand-jar plan should already have passed a burn test with its wick, wax and load. A thousand is the wrong quantity at which to discover that the festive red jar needs a different wick from the clear one.

Keeping 1,000 jars consistent across deliveries

Staging solves cash and space and creates one new job: making sure the fourth delivery matches the first. CSI's pages don't publish tolerances for glass colour, rim or lid fit, so the standard has to be one you keep yourself. It takes very little.

The fill-weight row is the one most often skipped and the one that costs most. A thousand jars poured to the same line on two slightly different vessels can differ by kilos of wax across the run.
