The runway test: who actually needs 1,000 wicks
Runway is simply how long a pack lasts: 1,000 ÷ single-wick candles poured per month. It answers the two questions a 1,000-pack raises — how long the cash is tied up, and how long your recipe must stay unchanged for every wick to be used as bought. A useful planning rule is to keep a 1,000-pack's runway within about one quarter. That is not a technical limit on the wicks — no CSI wick page states a shelf life — but a business one: three months is roughly how far ahead most small candle brands can say with confidence that the jar, the wax, the fragrance load and the wick will stay the same. Past that, the risk grows that a new jar or a wax change leaves several hundred wicks of the wrong size. The rule tightens further if you pour for a season: a Diwali range may use 500 wicks in October and none in December.
The mistake: a 1,000-pack at 100 candles a month. Ten months of C2 wicks is ₹9,440 paid now for candles you'll pour through next July. In that time you may well change something — a new jar supplier, a coconut-soy blend, a higher fragrance load — and every one of those is a reason to re-test the wick. A 1,000 can still be two sizes
If your production is 600 candles in one jar and 400 in another, a "1,000-wick order" is really 600 C1 and 400 C2 (or whichever sizes your tests chose). Storing 1,000 wicks for months
A 10-pack lives in a drawer for a week. A 1,000-pack lives in your workshop through a monsoon.
No CSI wick page states storage conditions or a shelf life, so the guidance below is general good practice for keeping bulk wicks in the condition they arrived in. The principle is simple: a wick should reach the jar as dry, straight, clean and correctly labelled as it was when the pack was opened. Stickers deserve the same care. Candle Wick Stickers rely on their adhesive, and 25 sheets for a 1,000-wick run is a lot of adhesive sitting in a warm workshop. The pouring corner is the warmest, splashiest part of any workshop, and a 1,000-pack kept there spends months in exactly the conditions this table warns about. When a pack of 1,000 arrives, a few minutes of checking protects months of production. The steps below take less than half an hour and leave a record you can refer back to if a later batch behaves differently.

The 100-sticker sheet's step is worth noting at this volume: when it returns, it saves ₹140 on a 1,000-candle month — useful, but not worth holding production for. Holders do not scale with the pack at all; a workshop pouring 1,000 candles a month in rounds of 50 needs 50 holders, the same as one pouring 500. A thousand wicks on an open workbench are a thousand chances to be damp, bent, splashed or mixed up. Twenty-five counted into a bag are twenty-five wicks you can account for by the end of the round.

Performance Wooden Wicks are listed in 10, 50 and 100. At listed prices, 1,000 is ten 100-packs for ₹41,300; the same thousand in 50-packs would be ₹47,200, and in 10-packs ₹59,000. That makes the 100-pack the only sensible listed route, and at a ₹41,300 commitment it is worth messaging CSI on WhatsApp before ordering to ask about a quote and supply for that quantity.
It is also worth checking the economics once more at this scale. With a sticker, a wooden wick is ₹43.80 per candle against ₹11.94 for Eco C2 — a gap of ₹31,860 across 1,000 candles. Test a 10-pack (₹590), and check that your holders take a flat wooden wick, before committing the rest.
Don't order 1,000 wooden wicks on the strength of a 10-pack that "looked lovely". A wooden wick is judged on the full burn: does the flame stay lit through the bottom third, does the pool reach the wall, does it need relighting?
