Weigh your own mould, then budget for the second pour
Size charts give you a starting figure. Your mould gives you the real one. Two moulds sold with the same diameter and height can hold noticeably different amounts of wax, because walls taper, bases curve and seams add volume. Weigh before you order.
The water method
Seal the wick hole with a little putty or tape. Set the empty mould on a kitchen scale and zero it. Fill with water to the line you will pour wax to, and read the weight. Wax is lighter than water, so the wax your pillar needs will come in a little under that figure. For ordering, use the water weight as it is. The difference becomes your spare.
Dry the mould completely before pouring wax. A drop of water left in a seam can leave a pit in the finished surface.
The wax nobody counts: the top-up
Pillars shrink as they cool, and a well forms around the wick. You fill it with a second, smaller pour. That wax has to come from somewhere, so hold some back from every batch rather than melting a fresh lot. The second pour is also why a pillar run always seems to use more wax than the maths promised.
From grams to a pack
Use CSI's candle table as your cross-check. If your mould weighs out at about 300 g of candle, each pillar holds 276 g of wax and 24 g of oil, and a 10 kg bag makes 36 of them. At about 200 g of candle, 10 kg makes 54. If your mould is larger than either, divide 10,000 g by your wax weight per pillar and round down.
Because Soy Pillar Wax is ₹600.00 per kilogram at every pack, there is no saving in buying a bigger bag than you need. A 5 kg bag at ₹3,000.00 followed by another later costs the same as one 10 kg bag at ₹6,000.00. Buy the amount your weighed moulds call for, plus the allowance, and keep the rest of your cash for fragrance and wicks.

Assumptions: Fragrance load 8% of total candle weight, so wax is 92% of the fill (a 200 g candle = 184 g wax + 16 g oil). Order plans add a 5% wastage allowance (10% where stated for festive buffers).
