Tools sold in multi-packs, and where the unit price moves

A tools buyer's first question is which items can be bought by the pack at all, and whether a bigger pack changes the price per piece. The table sets out every multi-pack tool in the CSI range with its listed per-unit price. On one tool the price steps down; on the rest it is flat or there is only one pack size, which means the buying decision is about how many you need, not about which pack "saves".

The stirring-stick step is real but has a condition attached. The 50-pack costs ₹1,062, which is exactly what 45 sticks cost in packs of five. The 100-pack costs ₹1,888, the price of 80 sticks bought in fives, or of 89 sticks bought in fifties. So the bigger pack is only the cheaper purchase if you will genuinely use more than those counts before the sticks are worn out or lost. A home maker pouring three scents a week will not; a studio running several benches or a workshop programme will.

Durable or consumable: how to count each

The commonest tools-order mistake is counting everything the same way. Durable tools should be counted by bench or by position: once you have enough, you never need more until one breaks or you add a bench. Consumable tools should be counted by candle or by batch: they scale with output and need a reorder point. The table sorts the CSI range into the two groups and gives the counting rule for each.

The costed tool set for one pouring bench

A pouring bench here means one person's station: weigh, blend, prepare jars, pour and fix wicks. It excludes the melter, which is equipment rather than a hand tool and is often shared. Two things stand out. The wick holders are 36% of the bench (₹1,250 of ₹3,431.82) — the positions, not the instruments, are the main tool cost, which is why counting them from your pour round matters. And the instruments are the cheap part: a thermometer and a scale are ₹708 together, so there is no case for sharing them between benches — shared instruments are how temperature logs go missing and recipes drift. Consumable tools per 100 candles

Consumable tools belong in your per-candle cost alongside wax, oil, wick and jar. The figures below use stated pack prices and three planning assumptions, set out in the table: one wick sticker per single-wick candle with a sheet's worth of spares, one care sticker per candle, and one fresh stirring stick per scent batch across four scents. Change the assumptions to match your range and the method holds.

Notice the gap between cash out and cost per candle. The care roll and stick pack cover several runs, so the first order ties up ₹2,601 even though a 100-candle run only consumes ₹458.12 of it. That is the right way round for consumables with a long reach: order the roll and the 100-pack once, then reorder only stickers — the line that runs out first — with every wick order. Tools for a workshop or class

Workshops are the other big tools buyer: a trainer, a café event or a corporate session where 10 to 30 people each pour a jar. The counting rule changes again. Per-participant tools are the ones each person holds; shared tools sit with the instructor at the melter. For 20 people, four 5-packs of sticks (₹472) beat the 50-pack (₹1,062) in cash, because 20 is well below the 45-stick break-even. A trainer running a session every week, using 80 or more sticks between orders, should switch to the 100-pack at ₹18.88 a stick. Wax, oil, jars and wicks come on top of the tool budget.
