Production packs: what can be bought by the 1,000

Production buying needs two things from a wick listing: a pack large enough that you are not placing ten orders a month, and a unit price that does not move when your order size does, so that one per-candle figure holds across every batch. For a container line, the practical production wicks are the three with 1,000-packs. Standardise the wick range before you scale it

Small makers match a wick to every new jar. Manufacturers do the opposite: they pick two or three standard vessels, prove one wick per vessel, and refuse new vessels that don't fit an existing wick. Every extra wick SKU adds a stock line to count, a reorder to track, a label to get wrong on the bench and a burn test to repeat whenever wax or oil changes.

Holder positions set your output

Here is the arithmetic many small factories miss. Every jar needs a holder from pour until the wax sets, so the number of holder positions you own caps how many jars you can pour in one go. The wick station's daily output is simply holder positions × the number of times each position is freed in a day.

The second number depends on your wax, your room and your jar, so measure it rather than borrowing someone else's. What you can plan precisely is the cost of positions. At 1,000 candles a month over, say, 25 production days, you are wicking about 40 jars a day. If your set time lets each position turn over twice a day, 20 positions would cover it; 50 give you room for a festive week or a larger single pour. Two production notes sit behind those numbers. First, C1 at 600 is cheapest as 500 + 100 (₹3,540), and six 100-packs cost exactly the same. Choose on handling: fewer, larger packs are easier to count and store. Second, stickers are the awkward line at volume. With only the 40-sheet in stock, 1,000 stickers means 25 sheets. If the 100-sheet returns at its listed ₹236, ten sheets would cost ₹2,360, and you would handle 15 fewer sheets for ₹140 less. What a manufacturer should ask a wick supplier

A hobby buyer asks whether a wick is good. A manufacturer asks whether the supply is dependable enough to build a product line on. These are the questions to put to any wick supplier, answered for CSI with the gaps named.
