What a first 1 kg bag is really for
Almost everyone who searches this is holding, or about to buy, their first bag. The honest answer is that 1 kg is a testing quantity, not a production one. Five 200 g candles is a small number, and in practice your first kilogram will often give you fewer.
Why your first kilogram may make four, not five
Five candles at 184 g of wax each use 920 g, leaving 80 g. That 80 g is your entire margin. The first time you melt, some wax stays in the jug, a little lands on the table, and one jar gets filled higher than the rest. It is normal to finish the first kilogram with four good candles and a partly filled fifth.
Fix: Weigh the wax into each jar on a kitchen scale instead of filling by eye, and weigh the fragrance too. At 8% of a 200 g candle that is 16 g, and a few grams too much or too little is easy to spot when the whole batch is five candles.
Use the five candles as experiments
Do not sell your first bag. Pour two with one wick and two with another, keep one as a reference, and burn them fully. What you learn about the wick, the melt pool and the scent throw in your own room is worth more than the candles.
For fragrance, a 100 g bottle covers a 1 kg test with room to spare: five 200 g candles need 80 g of oil at 8%. Jasmine is ₹430.00 for 100 g and Citrus Lemon is ₹300.00, so the first test need not be expensive.
