At a thousand candles the wax stops being the hard part. Melter capacity, floor space and cash are.

The scale answer: how much wax, how many melts, how many pour days, how much floor space and how much cash a thousand soy candles actually take.
214 kg
wax needed for 1,000 × 200 g candles — 200 kg net plus a 7% allowance, bought as 220 kg · ₹1,11,628.00 in CSI 464 · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
How much soy wax is needed for 1,000 candles? At a 200 g fill, 200 kg net and 214 kg once you add a 7% allowance — bought as 22 × 10 kg packs, 220 kg, of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 for ₹1,11,628.00. At a 150 g fill it is 150 kg net and 161 kg to buy.

What does the whole 1,000-candle materials bill come to? ₹1,67,206.00 — 220 kg of wax at ₹1,11,628.00, 16 kg of Eucalyptus Spearmint Fragrance Oil at ₹49,088.00 and 1,100 Eco Candle Wicks at ₹6,490.00. That is ₹167.21 a candle before jars, boxes, labels and freight.

How long does it take to pour 1,000 candles? It depends entirely on your melt capacity. A 10 kg Electric Wax Melter puts 220 kg through in 22 melts — about 6 pour days. A 1 L Mini Electric Wax Melter needs about 245 melts and roughly 61 pour days. The wax is never the bottleneck; the melter is.

How much space does 220 kg of soy wax take? Roughly half a cubic metre of flakes — about four shelves of a 900 × 450 mm rack, at an illustrative 0.45 kg per litre. Keep it off the floor, sealed, below about 30°C and out of sunlight; the CSI 464 page gives a 60 month shelf life in cool, dry storage.
The short answer
The wax is simple: 200 kg net at a 200 g fill, 214 kg with a 7% allowance, 220 kg once rounded to 10 kg packs — ₹1,11,628.00.
The throughput is not: 220 kg is 22 melts on a 10 kg melter and about 245 on a 1 L one — six pour days against sixty-one.
And the cash is the real test: ₹1,67,206.00 of materials leaves before a candle is sold. Stage it across three consignments rather than one.
Pour days needed to put 220 kg of soy wax through four melt routes, from a double boiler to a 20 kg electric melter 1,000 candles: pour days by melt capacity220 kg of wax · 200 g fill · illustrative at four melt-and-pour cycles a dayDouble boiler + 600 ml pouring pitcherabout 0.5 kg a melt · 440 melts110 pour daysMini Electric Wax Melter, 1 litreabout 0.9 kg a melt · 245 melts61 pour daysElectric Wax Melter, 10 kg10 kg a melt · 22 melts6 pour daysElectric Wax Melter, 20 kg20 kg a melt · 11 melts3 pour daysMelt sizes are the listed capacities; cycles a day and pour days are illustrative planning figures.
The same 220 kg of wax, through four melt routes. Melt capacity — not wax availability — is what decides whether a thousand candles is a working week or two months. Deliberately left out: labour, jar handling and cure, which are covered in the plan below.
Straight answer
How much soy wax do I need for 1,000 candles, and what else does that quantity drag along with it?
The wax answer is arithmetic: fill weight × 1,000, plus an allowance. At a 200 g fill that is 200 kg net, 214 kg with a 7% allowance, and 220 kg once rounded to whole 10 kg packs of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464₹1,11,628.00. Add 16 kg of fragrance oil at 8% of wax weight (₹49,088.00 in Eucalyptus Spearmint) and 1,100 Eco Candle Wicks C1 (₹6,490.00) and the materials bill is ₹1,67,206.00, or ₹167.21 a candle before jars. The three answers that actually decide whether you can do it are not about wax. Throughput: 220 kg is 22 melts on a 10 kg Electric Wax Melter and about 245 on a 1 L one — roughly 6 pour days against 61. Space: 220 kg of flakes is about half a cubic metre, plus a thousand jars, plus a thousand curing candles that must stay lidded, off the floor and below about 30°C for 14–21 days. Cash: ₹1,67,206.00 leaves before a rupee comes back, which is why this page stages the order into three consignments of ₹61,950.00, ₹53,808.00 and ₹51,448.00 rather than one.
One line: 220 kg of wax, 16 kg of oil, 1,100 wicks, 22 melts, about six pour days, half a cubic metre of storage and ₹1,67,206.00 of cash.
Planning a thousand candles? The basket on this page is 22 × 10 kg of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at ₹5,074.00 a pack, 16 × 1 kg of Eucalyptus Spearmint Fragrance Oil at ₹3,068.00, and a 1000-pack plus a 100-pack of Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) — ₹1,67,206.00 in total. An order this size should be planned on WhatsApp so it arrives in consignments you can store.
Shop soy wax

The quantity: 200 kg net, 220 kg bought

The wax sum takes thirty seconds. Everything that sum sets in motion takes a month.

A thousand candles at a 200 g fill is 200 kg of wax in the jars. Add the usual 7% planning allowance for pitcher film, second-pour top-ups, melt dregs and rejects and you need 214 kg. The store sells soy in packs up to 10 kg, so you round up to 220 kg — twenty-two whole packs — and carry 6 kg forward as opening stock for the next run. At a 150 g fill the same order needs 150 kg net and 161 kg bought; at 100 g, 100 kg net and 107 kg bought. Everything on this page scales from that one line.

At this size the allowance behaves differently from a first 100-candle run. The fixed losses — the film in the melter, the dregs at the bottom — are spread across ten times as many candles, so a settled production process usually lands at 4–5% rather than 7%. But the reject line can get worse rather than better, because a wick or temperature fault now runs for 200 candles before anyone burns one. Keep 7% in the plan until your own batch records say otherwise; the difference between 4% and 7% here is 6 kg of wax, about ₹3,044.40, which is cheap insurance against stopping a production run at candle 940.

Grade at 220 kg
1,000 candles at a 200 g fill: what 220 kg costs in each container soy grade
Grade Packs for 220 kg Wax cost Per candle Worth knowing at this size
Eco Soy CSI 400 44 × 5 kg ₹87,824.00 ₹87.82 Cheapest per kilogram; 5 kg is the largest listed pack, so 44 bags to open and store — confirm availability on WhatsApp at this depth
Natural Soy Pearl Wax listed up to 50 kg ₹93,456.00 ₹93.46 The only soy listed in a 50 kg pack; working figures and fragrance ceiling not published — confirm availability before planning around it
Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 22 × 10 kg ₹1,11,628.00 ₹111.63 Used on this page: flakes, single-pour container wax, load up to 10%, 60 month shelf life
Luxury Soy Wax Chunks 22 × 10 kg ₹1,31,978.00 ₹131.98 Load up to 13%; chunks melt a little slower than flakes in a large melter
Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 22 × 10 kg ₹1,40,140.00 ₹140.14 Coconut-soy blend, pours at 58–60°C — a different thermal routine across 22 melts
Priced above: Eco Soy CSI 400 5 kg ₹1,996.00 (₹399.20/kg); Natural Soy Pearl Wax 50 kg ₹21,240.00, 10 kg ₹4,248.00 (₹424.80/kg); Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 10 kg ₹5,074.00 (₹507.40/kg); Luxury Soy Wax Chunks 10 kg ₹5,999.00; Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 10 kg ₹6,370.00 (₹637.00/kg). Prices inclusive of taxes, September 2026.

The spread across that table is ₹52,316.00 on a single order, which makes grade the largest single decision on this page after fill weight. It is also the decision you should already have made. A 1,000-candle order is the worst possible moment to try a new wax: a different grade means a different pour temperature, a different set time and usually a different wick, discovered somewhere around candle 150. If the cheaper grade is genuinely right for your jar, prove it on fifty candles this month and buy 220 kg of it next time.

Throughput: what actually limits a thousand candles

Wax is never the constraint at this size — it is on a shelf. The constraint is how fast you can get solid flakes to pour temperature, and that is set by the largest single melt you can run. At a 200 g fill, one 10 kg melt fills exactly 50 candles; one 20 kg melt fills 100; a 1 litre melter, holding roughly 0.9 kg of soy, fills four or five. The arithmetic that follows is unforgiving.

Melt routes
Putting 220 kg through four melt capacities
Route Melt size Melts for 220 kg Candles a melt Pour days
Double boiler with a Steel Pouring Pitcher (600 ml, ₹708.00) about 0.5 kg 440 2–3 about 110
Mini Electric Wax Melter, 1 litre (₹2,360.00) about 0.9 kg 245 4–5 about 61
Electric Wax Melter, 10 kg (₹21,240.00) 10 kg 22 50 about 6
Electric Wax Melter, 20 kg (₹25,960.00) 20 kg 11 100 about 3
Two 10 kg melters run together 20 kg 22 in pairs 50 each about 3

The pour-day column assumes four melt-and-pour cycles in a working day, which is an illustrative planning figure rather than a measured one — your own cycle depends on your grade, your room and how quickly jars clear the bench. What the table does show honestly is the shape of the problem: the jump from a 1 litre melter to a 10 kg one is the difference between two months of pouring and a working week. A 10 kg melter at ₹21,240.00 is about 12.7% of this order's materials bill, and it is the item that decides whether the order is deliverable at all.

Labour is the other half of throughput and it does not scale with melter size. Wicking a jar, sticking it down, pouring, topping up the next morning, trimming and labelling runs to roughly two minutes of handling per candle even when the wax is ready — about 33 hours across a thousand candles, or four to five full working days for one pair of hands. Plan the pour days and the handling days separately, and be honest about who is doing them. A Wick Centering Device at ₹118.00, Candle Wick Stickers at ₹100.00 for 40 and a second pouring vessel do more for a thousand-candle timetable than any change of wax.

Buying 220 kg of wax and pouring it through a 1 litre melter. The wax arrives in three days and then sits for two months while you run 245 melts. Meanwhile the candles poured in week one are curing while the candles for week eight have not been wicked, your fill weight drifts as you get tired, and the festival date arrives with 400 candles ready. Size the melt capacity to the order before the wax lands, or split the order into two 500-candle runs with separate deadlines.

Where 220 kg of wax actually lives

Twenty-two 10 kg packs is not a shelf item, and the wax is only the beginning: you also need somewhere for 16 kg of fragrance oil, a thousand empty jars, and — the part everyone forgets — a thousand poured candles sitting through a 14–21 day cure. In most Indian home setups the curing candles, not the raw wax, are what take over the room.

Storage check
What a 1,000-candle order needs from your space
Item At this order size Requirement Why it matters in India
Soy flakes 220 kg, roughly 0.5 cubic metres Sealed, off the floor, below about 30°C, out of direct sun The CSI 464 page asks for cool, dry storage away from sunlight and moisture; monsoon floors are damp
Fragrance oil 16 kg in 1 kg packs Sealed, dark, cool, away from the melter Heat and light are the enemies of an open bottle; flashpoint is a transport property, not a kitchen risk
Empty jars 1,000 units Boxed, stacked no higher than the carton allows Glass loss at this count is expensive; keep the boxes closed until the pour day
Curing candles 1,000 units for 14–21 days Lidded or covered, level, below about 30°C, out of sun A 40°C Delhi or Nagpur afternoon can soften tops and lift labels mid-cure
Finished stock whatever has not shipped Cool, dark, upright, boxed Soy softens in heat and colour can shift in sunlight
Shelf life 60 months for CSI 464 in cool, dry storage First in, first out Wax outlasts the order; leftover 6 kg is stock, not waste
MEASURE THE ROOM BEFORE YOU ORDER
As an illustrative figure, soy flakes occupy roughly 0.45 kg per litre in their packs, so 220 kg is about 489 litres — call it half a cubic metre, or four shelves of a 900 × 450 mm rack. Add a thousand jars in cartons and a thousand curing candles on trays and the honest requirement is a dedicated room or a serious rack, not a kitchen corner. Work this out before the consignment is dispatched, not when the delivery van arrives.

The cash: ₹1,67,206.00 before you sell one candle

A thousand candles is a working-capital event. The materials alone are ₹1,67,206.00, and the jars, boxes, labels and freight sit on top of that. All of it leaves before any of it comes back, and the cure means the first candle cannot ship for at least a fortnight after it is poured. Unless the order carries an advance, that money is out of your account for six to eight weeks.

The sensible answer is not to buy it all on day one. Because the per-kilogram rate does not improve with volume on CSI 464 — ₹507.40/kg at 1 kg and at 10 kg alike — splitting the order into three consignments costs you nothing in rate. What it costs is additional delivery charges, so weigh that against the storage you free up and the cash you keep. Two CSI reviewers have said plainly that delivery charges felt high to them; at this order size that is a real number to put in your plan rather than a detail to discover later.

Staged order
One 1,000-candle order in three consignments
Stage Timing Wax Oil Wicks Cash
1 Week 0, before the first pour day 8 × 10 kg 6 × 1 kg 500 ₹61,950.00
2 Week 2, after the first burn test 7 × 10 kg 5 × 1 kg 500 ₹53,808.00
3 Week 4, to finish the run 7 × 10 kg 5 × 1 kg 100 ₹51,448.00
Total 220 kg 16 kg 1,100 ₹1,67,206.00
Priced above: Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 10 kg ₹5,074.00; Eucalyptus Spearmint Fragrance Oil 1 kg ₹3,068.00, 500 gm ₹1,652.00 (page states up to 10% for soy wax, 0% vanillin, flashpoint 199°C, cure 48–72 hours); Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) 1000 for ₹5,900.00, 500 for ₹2,950.00, 100 for ₹590.00. Delivery charges are quoted separately and are not included in any figure on this page.

Staging also protects you from the expensive version of a mistake. Stage one is 400 candles' worth of materials; if the first burn test after a fortnight says the wick is a size small, you have changed 400 candles, not 1,000. That is the whole argument for the week-two gap in the table — it is not a cash-flow trick, it is a quality gate that happens to help cash flow.

Ordering 220 kg in stages? Ask on WhatsApp before you place the first consignment: bulk pricing above the listed pack sizes, GST invoicing, MSDS and IFRA documentation, and a delivery plan for 220 kg of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 and 16 kg of fragrance oil are all handled there rather than in a cart.
Shop fragrance oils

Buying depth: packs, lots and what to ask before you commit

The store lists soy in 500 g, 1 kg, 5 kg and 10 kg packs, and Natural Soy Pearl Wax up to 50 kg. A 220 kg order is therefore an assembly of packs, and for a single consignment above 10 kg of one grade the right move is a WhatsApp conversation on +91 7397976926 rather than twenty-two clicks. That conversation is where bulk pricing, GST invoicing, MSDS and IFRA documentation and the dispatch plan get settled, and where you find out what is available in depth this week.

Two questions are worth asking before you commit, because they are not answered on any product page. First, whether the quantity you want can ship close together — a run poured from wax that arrived weeks apart is harder to keep identical, and if you care about batch-to-batch consistency you want as few lots as possible across the thousand. Second, whether the same is true of your fragrance oil: 16 kg of one scent is a large single purchase, and it is worth confirming before you build a collection around it. Neither question has a published answer, and both have a clear one on WhatsApp.

One honest note on discounts. A customer review on the Soy Pillar Wax page asks for a bulk-buy discount, and it is a fair thing to ask — but nothing on this page assumes one. Every figure here is the listed price, inclusive of taxes. If a bulk rate is available for your quantity, it will come from that WhatsApp conversation, not from an automatic break in the cart, and you should plan your costing on the listed price and treat anything better as upside.

The CSI principle
At a thousand candles you are not buying wax, you are buying a schedule.
220 kg costs ₹1,11,628.00 and arrives in three days; the melts, the pour days, the cure and the cash take six to eight weeks.

The 1,000-candle plan, in four moves

1
Lock the fill weight and the wick on fifty candlesPour fifty candles in the exact jar, wick, grade and scent you intend to use. Weigh five of them cured to fix the fill weight, and burn one for three hours to check the melt pool. Fifty candles is about 10 kg of wax, ₹5,074.00 — one pack, one melt, and the cheapest insurance available against a 1,000-candle mistake.
2
Size the melt capacity, then order stage oneDecide how many pour days you have between now and the deadline, and check they fit your melt route: 22 melts on a 10 kg melter is about six pour days, 245 melts on a 1 litre one is about sixty-one. Only then order consignment one — 80 kg of wax, 6 kg of oil and 500 wicks, ₹61,950.00 — so the wax is not sitting in your room while you shop for a melter.
3
Pour in sessions of 200, with a burn test between blocksFour 10 kg melts is 200 candles, a comfortable day. Keep a written note of the melt, the batch, the pour temperature and the room temperature for each session; at this count, an unexplained difference between candle 120 and candle 800 is expensive to diagnose after the fact. Burn one candle from the first block before you pour the third.
4
Cure in rotation, ship in wavesLabel and date each tray as it is poured so the 14–21 day cure runs in rotation rather than all at once, and ship the earliest trays first. This also spreads the freight and gets some cash back before the last block is poured. Keep the curing stock lidded, level and below about 30°C — in an Indian October that may mean an inside room rather than a balcony.
A thousand candles is not one big batch. It is twenty small ones that have to agree with each other.
— CandleMakingSuppliesIndia

When not to buy 220 kg

Against our own sales interest, three situations where a 220 kg order is the wrong decision. When the order is not confirmed. A verbal commitment from a corporate buyer is not ₹1,67,206.00 of certainty. Buy stage one, pour 400, and place the rest when the purchase order arrives; the rate is identical either way, so the only cost of waiting is a second delivery charge. When you have never poured 200 candles in a week. Volume exposes every weakness in a process at once, and doing that for the first time against a festival deadline is how good makers end up discounting a thousand candles. When the deadline does not allow a cure. If the candles must ship in fifteen days, a thousand soy candles poured today will not all have had a fair cure, and the ones poured last will reach the customer weakest.

There is also a quieter case for buying less: soy keeps, but your cash does not. A 60 month shelf life means unused wax is not wasted, so the argument for buying all 220 kg at once is convenience rather than economy. If ₹1,11,628.00 of wax on a shelf is the difference between paying for jars now and waiting, buy half. Nothing in CSI's pricing punishes you for it.

Scaling the recipe but not the checks. At a hundred candles you notice a bad batch because you handled every jar. At a thousand you notice it when a customer does. Write down the melt number, batch, pour temperature and room temperature for every session, keep one candle from each block as a retained sample, and burn one candle from each block before the next block is poured. It costs about twenty candles across the whole order — roughly ₹3,129.36 of materials — and it is the difference between fixing 200 candles and apologising for 1,000.
Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles, so a page about buying 220 kg of wax has an obvious commercial interest in you buying it all at once. It argues against that. The per-kilogram rate on Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 is the same at 1 kg as at 10 kg, so there is no volume discount to chase; splitting a 1,000-candle order into three consignments costs only the extra delivery, and if the order is not confirmed you should buy one stage and stop.

Every price is from live CSI stock in September 2026 and the linked product pages are authoritative. Quoted from those pages: Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 fragrance load up to 10% of total wax weight, shelf life 60 months in cool, dry storage away from sunlight and moisture; Luxury Soy Wax Chunks up to 13%; Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 up to 13% with a 58–60°C pour; Eucalyptus Spearmint Fragrance Oil up to 10% for soy, 0% vanillin, flashpoint 199°C. Eco Soy CSI 400 and Natural Soy Pearl Wax do not publish fragrance ceilings, and CSI does not publish wick sizes by jar diameter or melting times for its melters. The 7% allowance, the four-cycles-a-day pour rate, the two-minutes-a-candle handling figure, the 0.45 kg per litre storage estimate and the session sizes are planning conventions and general practice, not CSI measurements.

WhatsApp +91 7397976926 for bulk pricing above the listed pack sizes, for GST invoicing, for MSDS and IFRA documentation, and to plan how 220 kg of wax and 16 kg of fragrance oil should be split across consignments and dispatched to your address.

Frequently asked questions

How many kilograms of soy wax do 1,000 candles need?
At a 200 g fill, 200 kg net and 214 kg with a 7% allowance, rounded up to 220 kg as twenty-two 10 kg packs. At a 150 g fill it is 150 kg net and 161 kg bought; at 100 g, 100 kg net and 107 kg bought. Work from the weight of wax in a cured sample candle, not from the jar's stated volume.
What does 220 kg of soy wax cost in India?
₹1,11,628.00 in Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at ₹507.40/kg. The same 220 kg is ₹87,824.00 in Eco Soy CSI 400, ₹93,456.00 in Natural Soy Pearl Wax, ₹1,31,978.00 in Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and ₹1,40,140.00 in Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 — a spread of ₹52,316.00 on one order.
How many melts and pour days is 1,000 candles?
At a 200 g fill, one 10 kg melt fills 50 candles, so 220 kg is 22 melts — roughly 6 pour days at four melt-and-pour cycles a day. A 20 kg melter halves that to about three; a 1 litre melter turns it into about 245 melts and roughly 61 days. Add about 33 hours of wicking, topping up, trimming and labelling on top.
Do I get a bulk discount on 220 kg of soy wax?
Not automatically in the cart. CSI 464 is ₹507.40/kg at 1 kg and at 10 kg alike; only CSI 468 and Natural Soy Pearl Wax step down with pack size. For a consignment of this size, bulk pricing, GST invoicing and freight are a WhatsApp conversation on +91 7397976926 — cost the job at the listed price and treat anything better as upside.
How much fragrance oil does a 1,000-candle run need?
Load is a share of wax weight, so 8% of 200 kg is 16 kg of oil — 16 g in each 200 g candle. In Eucalyptus Spearmint at the 1 kg rate that is ₹49,088.00, or ₹49.09 a candle. Stay inside the lower of the wax ceiling and the oil page's stated range: CSI 464 states up to 10% and the Eucalyptus Spearmint page states up to 10% for soy.
How much storage space does a 1,000-candle order need?
About half a cubic metre for 220 kg of flakes, at an illustrative 0.45 kg per litre — four shelves of a 900 × 450 mm rack. Then add 1,000 empty jars in cartons and 1,000 poured candles curing for 14–21 days, which is usually the larger demand on the room. Keep everything sealed, off the floor, below about 30°C and out of direct sunlight.
