What a 10 kg melt really gives at 300 g
On paper, 10 kg of wax holds 36 candles of 276 g each. Allow 5% for residue, spills and top-ups, and the usable wax is about 9.52 kg, or 34 candles. Fifteen melts at 34 is 510, so fifteen covers 500 with ten spare. Fourteen would stop you at 476.
The trap at 300 g: Top-up pours. Wide jars often need a second small pour to fill a sinkhole, and across 500 candles that extra wax adds up fast. Take the top-up from the same melt and log it, so you know afterwards whether the 5% held.
Oil and wicks by the melt
