Turn the scorecard into a landed cost you can compare
A scorecard tells you which supplier you trust more. It does not tell you what each one really costs you. To compare fairly, work out a landed figure for each: what a kilogram costs by the time it reaches your workshop, on the pack you will actually buy, in a form you can use.
Compare like with like
Three things distort a per-kilogram comparison. The first is pack size: CSI's Luxury Soy Wax Chunks are cheapest per kilogram in the 500 g bag, at ₹598.00, and slightly dearer in the 10 kg bag, at ₹599.90, so the headline 1 kg price is not always the one you pay. The second is tax. The Chunks product page states that prices include taxes; check whether any other quote you hold is before or after GST, and whether a GST invoice is available, since that changes what you can reclaim. The third is delivery. One CSI reviewer wrote that "the delivery charges are very high which is restricting me". Divide the delivery charge on a typical order by its kilograms and add it to the wax price. A cheap wax with an expensive parcel is not a cheap wax.
Score the gaps in the spec, and the answers to them
No supplier publishes everything. On CSI's own pages, Pearl, Eco Soy CSI 400 and Soy Pillar Wax publish no fragrance load, Soy Pillar Wax publishes no melt point, and CSI 464's page lists 80–90°C for both melt point and pour temperature. Gaps like these are normal. What matters is whether the supplier answers clearly when you ask. Send the same two or three questions to each supplier you are comparing and score the replies. A clear, specific answer is worth more to you than a longer spec sheet.
The trap: scoring the supplier on your first bag only. The first bag tells you about the wax. The second, bought weeks later, tells you about the supplier.
Weight the scorecard to your business
Equal marks for every criterion suit nobody. A maker selling 30 candles a month should weight spec and support heavily and barely care about pack range. A workshop pouring every day should weight consistency and pack range above everything. Decide your weights before you score, so the result is not bent towards the supplier you already prefer.
