Luxury is judged in the hand before a match is struck. Yet in a statement candle, the glass is often not your biggest cost.

CSI's statement candle vessels cost ₹200 to ₹354 a jar, and in a finished 500–700 g luxury candle poured with a premium oil the glass is only 22–27% of the materials bill. This guide sets out every luxury vessel CSI lists, what each page states, and what a luxury candle costs to make in each.
₹200–₹354
per statement jar · Borosilicate 600 g ₹200 · Apothecary Dome Lid 500 gm ₹212.40 / 700 gm ₹250 · Clip Top Airtight 550 g ₹229 · Candle Jar with Dome Lid ₹354 · all sold singly · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What do luxury candle jars cost wholesale? At CSI: Borosilicate Glass Jar 600 g ₹200, Apothecary Glass Candle Jar with Dome Lid ₹212.40 (500 gm) or ₹250 (700 gm), Clip Top Airtight Container ₹229, Candle Jar with Dome Lid ₹354. For a smaller luxury size, the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram) is ₹94.40 a jar in 10s or 20s.

Which luxury jar states the most? The apothecary dome lid jar: thick-walled clear glass, a dome glass lid with snug fit, ~500–700 g fill, 10 cm across, and "Safe for hot-pour up to 85°C".

What does a luxury candle cost to make? Poured at 10% with Coconut Soy CSI 468 and Dark Vanilla Oud: ₹798.10 in a 500 gm apothecary jar, ₹1,064.18 in the 700 gm, ₹274.17 in the 150 g golden-lid jar. Oil and wax outweigh the glass in every statement size.

Can I buy apothecary jars in packs of 50 or 100? No such pack is listed — the statement jars are sold singly, so the listed per-jar price is your ceiling. Recurring and larger volumes are quoted on WhatsApp.
The short answer
Choose the vessel on what it signals: weight, closure, silhouette and scale make a candle read as luxury — and the apothecary, borosilicate and clip-top pages each state at least two of those.
Cost it as a whole candle: with CSI 468 and Dark Vanilla Oud at 10%, the jar is 22–27% of a 500–700 g statement candle; oil and wax are about 36–38% each. Price the candle, not the glass.
Qualify before a gifting run: weigh the true fill, test the wick in a 10 cm vessel, and pour a low-temperature wax such as CSI 468 (58–60°C) well under any stated 85°C limit.
One luxury candle per vessel, layer by layer · CSI 468 + Dark Vanilla Oud at 10% Clear 150 g golden lid ₹274.17 · jar 34.4% Apothecary 500 gm ₹798.10 · jar 26.6% Clip Top 550 g ₹871.83 · jar 26.3% Borosilicate 600 g ₹899.94 · jar 22.2% Apothecary 700 gm ₹1,064.18 · jar 23.5% wax fragrance oil wick + sticker jar
Bar length is the materials cost of one candle filled to each jar's stated capacity at a 10% fragrance load. The palest block is the jar. In the 150 g jar it is the biggest single cost; in every statement vessel the wax and the oil each cost more than the glass.
Straight answer
Which luxury candle jars can I buy wholesale in India, and what do they add to the cost of a luxury candle?
CSI lists four statement vessels and a smaller luxury companion. The Apothecary Glass Candle Jar with Dome Lid is ₹212.40 (500 gm) or ₹250 (700 gm) and has the fullest page: thick-walled clear glass, a dome glass lid with snug fit, 10 cm rim and base, and a stated hot-pour limit of 85°C. The Borosilicate Glass Jar 600 g is ₹200 with a matte gold metal lid and a stated 500–600 g wax fill. The Clip Top Airtight Container is ₹229 for a stated 550 g wax fill in an 11 × 11 × 10 cm vessel. The Candle Jar with Dome Lid is ₹354 but states no capacity or dimensions, so measure a sample first. For a smaller size, the Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram) is ₹94.40. Filled at 10% with Coconut Soy CSI 468 and Dark Vanilla Oud, a 500 gm apothecary candle costs ₹798.10 in materials, of which the jar is 26.6%; the 700 gm costs ₹1,064.18, jar 23.5%. The statement jars are all sold singly — recurring and gifting volumes go to WhatsApp for a quote.
One line: buy the vessel for what it signals, cost the candle as a whole, and remember that in a statement jar poured with a premium oil, the oil and wax — not the glass — set your price floor.
Statement vessels from ₹200: the Apothecary Dome Lid jar at ₹212.40 with a stated 85°C limit, the Borosilicate 600 g at ₹200 and the Clip Top Airtight at ₹229. Sample one of each before a gifting run.

What makes a candle jar read as luxury

Nobody has smelt your candle when they decide it is expensive. They have picked it up.

A luxury candle sells on an impression formed in the first few seconds: the weight of the glass, the lid coming away, the shape on a shelf, the size of the object in a gift box. Fragrance keeps the customer; the vessel wins the first sale and the photograph. That is why luxury brands pay more for glass — and why they should be exact about what the extra rupees buy.

Six signals do most of the work. The table sets each against the CSI vessels whose product pages state it, quoted as written. A signal a page does not state may still be true of the jar, but you can only plan a range around what is written down or what you have measured yourself.

Luxury signals · what CSI vessel pages state
Six things that make glass read as premium, and where each is stated
Signal Why a buyer reads it as luxury CSI vessels whose page states it
Weight and wall Heft in the hand reads as quality before anything else Apothecary Dome Lid and 150 g golden-lid jar: "thick-walled"
A real closure A lid completes the object and protects the scent between burns Apothecary: "Dome glass lid with snug fit" · Clip Top: "airtight seal" · Borosilicate: "matte gold metal lid" · 150 g: golden metal lid "included with every jar"
Silhouette Curves and apothecary shapes signal heritage and craft Apothecary: "Curved silhouette with broad base for wax stability"
Scale A large candle reads as a gift, not a purchase Apothecary ~500–700 g · Borosilicate "500–600g wax fill" · Clip Top "Wax Fill - 550g"
Clarity or finish Clear glass shows a creamy wax; matte and frosted glass hide imperfections Borosilicate: "high-clarity, heat-resistant" · 14 matte, frosted and glossy 200 ml finishes
A surface for branding Luxury labels, belly bands and seals need room Apothecary: "Easy to label with wraps, wax seals, or belly bands"
The mistake: paying for luxury glass and pouring an ordinary candle into it. A statement vessel raises the customer's expectation of everything after the lid comes off. A creamy, even surface, a clean first melt pool and a scent that fills the room are what turn a ₹212.40 jar into a reorder. If the wax frosts or the candle tunnels in a 10 cm jar, the glass becomes evidence against you. Pair luxury glass with a wax chosen for finish — see what makes coconut wax candles feel more premium — and qualify the wick in the real vessel before the first sale.

Every luxury vessel CSI lists, side by side

Here are the in-stock vessels a luxury or gifting range would realistically use: the four statement jars, plus the lidded 150 g family and the matte range as smaller companions. Fills are quoted in the unit each page uses. The last column divides the jar price by its stated fill, which tells you how much glass you are paying for per 100 g of candle.

Black Matte / White Matte and 12 other finishes ₹70.80 "fill weight of 200 ml" Height 8 cm · width 7 cm Not mentioned "withstand high heat" Stated in ml — weigh one
Priced above: glass per 100 g of fill = jar price ÷ stated grams × 100. Borosilicate ₹200 ÷ 600 = ₹33.33 (₹40 if you fill it to 500 g) · Apothecary 700 gm ₹250 ÷ 700 = ₹35.71 · Clip Top ₹229 ÷ 550 = ₹41.64 · Apothecary 500 gm ₹212.40 ÷ 500 = ₹42.48 · Clear 150 g ₹944 ÷ 10 = ₹94.40 a jar ÷ 150 = ₹62.93 · coloured 150 g ₹1,070 ÷ 10 = ₹107 ÷ 150 = ₹71.33 · matte ₹354 ÷ 5 = ₹70.80.

Read that last column again, because it overturns an assumption. The statement jars cost less glass per gram of candle than the small lidded jar. A ₹250 apothecary jar carries ₹35.71 of glass per 100 g of candle; a ₹94.40 150 g jar carries ₹62.93. Luxury vessels are expensive per unit and economical per gram — which is exactly the shape of a profitable gift candle, priced by the object rather than by weight.

Luxury looks that are sold out right now
Several of CSI's more decorative glass listings are fully sold out at the time of writing, including the Amber Glass Jar with Bamboo Lid, the Glass Jar With Bamboo Lid and the White Iridescent jar with bamboo lid (300 g). Do not build a launch around a vessel you cannot reorder: plan on the in-stock jars above, and ask on WhatsApp when a sold-out style is expected back before designing packaging around it.

Four luxury jars worth stocking

Three statement vessels and one discovery size cover a complete luxury range. Statement cards count how many candles one 10 kg bag of CSI 468 (₹6,370) fills at a 10% load before any spill allowance, so you can plan jars against wax.

1
Signature statement jar · stated 85°C · dome glass lid
Apothecary Glass Candle Jar with Dome Lid (500 gm and 700 gm)
The vessel most luxury ranges are built around, and the one whose page supports it best: "thick-walled vintage apothecary-inspired", premium clear glass, dome glass lid with snug fit, curved silhouette, broad base, easy to label with wraps, wax seals or belly bands, and safe for hot-pour up to 85°C. Stated dimensions are approximately 13.2 cm with lid, 10.8 cm without and 10 cm across. The page gives those same dimensions for both sizes, so measure your samples and confirm on WhatsApp which size is which before ordering in volume.

Minimal luxury · lowest glass cost per gram
Borosilicate Glass Jar 600 gram fill capacity with golden lid
The modern, minimal alternative to the apothecary shape, at the lowest price of the statement jars. The page states "premium quality clear glass (high-clarity, heat-resistant)", an "elegant matte gold metal lid", a "smooth inner surface for easy pouring and clean adhesion" and an ideal 500–600 g wax fill. It gives no dimensions and no temperature figure, so measure the diameter for wicking and pour-test at your real temperature. Its smaller sisters — the 250 g and 300 g borosilicate listings — are currently sold out.

Keepsake jar · airtight clip top
Reusable Premium Glass Clip Top Airtight Candle Container
The vessel for a candle the customer keeps using as a storage jar afterwards — a real selling line in gifting. The page states a clip-top design with an airtight seal, 11 cm × 11 cm × 10 cm dimensions and a wax fill of 550 g. It does not state a hot-pour figure, which matters little with a low-pour wax such as CSI 468 but should still be tested. Treat the clip lid as a storage and fragrance-keeping closure: open it fully before lighting, and only close it once the candle has cooled completely.

Discovery size · stated 85°C · lid included
Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram)
Every luxury range needs an entry price: the size a customer buys to try the scent, and the size that fills a hamper next to a statement candle. This jar shares the apothecary language — "thick-walled", curved, golden metal lid "included with every jar" — at 150 g and 8 cm tall, with a stated hot-pour limit of 85°C. The Black version drew a short verdict from customer Biny Abraham: "Good product". Unlike the statement jars, it is sold in packs of 10 and 20 at the same ₹94.40 a jar.
Size Price Per piece
Pack of 10 ₹944 ₹94.40
Pack of 20 ₹1,888 ₹94.40
₹274.17 materials per 150 g candle · jar 34.4% Buy Clear 150 g Golden Lid
The ₹354 jar with nothing written down. The Candle Jar with Dome Lid is the most expensive candle jar in the range, and its page describes it as elegant, fresh-keeping and easily transportable — but states no capacity, no dimensions and no heat line. It may be exactly the vessel your range needs. Buy one, fill it with wax to your line and weigh it, measure it, and pour-test it before you quote a candle price or order more. At ₹141.60 more than a 500 gm apothecary jar, it has to earn its premium on the shelf.

The luxury cost stack, vessel by vessel

In a 150 g candle the jar is the biggest cost. Fill a 700 g apothecary with a premium oil and it becomes the smallest of the three that matter.

To compare vessels fairly, every candle below is filled to its jar's stated capacity with the same recipe: Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 at the 10 kg price (₹0.637 a gram), stated for container use up to 13% with a 58–60°C pour, and Dark Vanilla Oud at the 1 kg price (₹5.691 a gram) at a 10% load. Wicks are a single Cotton Braided Wick Ready Made (₹12, stated for candles "exceeding 8 cm") in the statement jars and an Eco Candle Wick C1 (₹5.90) in the 150 g jar, each with a ₹2.50 wick sticker.

Three conclusions follow. First, with this recipe, in every statement vessel the wax and the oil each cost more than the jar; the glass is 22–27% of the bill. A cheaper oil changes that — British Rose at ₹3,068 per kg puts ₹153.40 of oil in the 500 gm apothecary, less than its ₹212.40 jar. A brand agonising over ₹200 versus ₹250 glass while buying its fragrance by the 100 g bottle is optimising the wrong line. Second, the discovery size is the dearest candle per gram — ₹182.78 per 100 g against ₹149.99–₹159.62 for the statement jars — so price it as a trial, not as a pro-rata slice of the big candle. Three 150 g candles hold 450 g of candle and cost ₹822.51 to make; one 500 gm apothecary holds 500 g and costs ₹798.10. Third, the oil line scales hardest with size: in the 700 gm apothecary, Dark Vanilla Oud costs ₹148.37 more than the jar.

The mistake: assuming a wide vessel takes one wick. These stacks cost a single ₹12 Cotton Braided wick because that is the only stated large-diameter guidance in the range. A 10 cm or 11 cm vessel may need two wicks to melt to the glass, and the product pages do not say. A second wick and sticker add ₹14.50 — taking the 500 gm apothecary candle to ₹812.60 — which is trivial next to a candle that tunnels and leaves luxury wax unburnt around the wall. Test one wick against two in the real jar; the tunnelling diagnosis guide shows what to look for.
The CSI principle
The jar is what the customer pays for first. In a statement candle with a premium oil, it is the smallest of the three costs you pay for.
Spend on the glass that wins the first impression, then protect the margin where the money really goes: the oil load you choose, the wax you pour and the wick that stops a luxury candle tunnelling. A ₹50 difference in glass is not what decides whether a ₹1,064.18 candle is profitable.

A three-tier luxury launch, costed

A luxury range needs a ladder customers can climb: a discovery size to try, a signature size to gift, and a statement size for the occasion. Here is a single-scent launch of 30 candles — ten of each tier — bought in real listed packs, with a 5% allowance on wax and oil for spills, top-ups and a test pour. Swap in a second scent and only the oil lines change.

The materials the 30 candles actually consume come to ₹21,364.50 — ten each of ₹274.17, ₹798.10 and ₹1,064.18 — or ₹712.15 per candle on average. The gap to the ₹24,058 basket is stock that carries forward: about 2,850 g of CSI 468 and 150 g of Dark Vanilla Oud before spills, plus unused wick stickers. Whatever the allowance does not use is roughly five or six more signature candles of wax, which is how the second batch should be planned. Packaging, labels and boxes sit on top; a boxed apothecary cost stack is set out in the luxury soy wax guide, and oil choices for a luxury line in best fragrance oils for luxury candle making.

Luxury is decided in the hand before it is decided by the nose — but it is only repeated by the nose.

Qualifying a 10 cm statement vessel before a gifting run

Wide, heavy vessels behave differently from 7 cm jars, and the cost of getting them wrong is higher because every candle holds half a kilo of material. Run this on one jar of each statement vessel you plan to sell — at listed prices that is ₹200 to ₹354 of glass per test, against a gifting order that may run into dozens.

1
Find the true fill by weightPour molten wax to the line you would sell at — usually a finger's width below the rim or the lid seat — let it set and weigh it. The stated fills (~500–700 g, 500–600 g, 550 g) are the starting point; your fill line decides the recipe. For the ₹354 Candle Jar with Dome Lid this step replaces a missing specification.
2
Set one wick in one jar and two in anotherCotton Braided Wicks Ready Made are stated for candles "exceeding 8 cm" and are 10.16 cm tall — within the apothecary jar's stated 10.8 cm height without lid — and can be trimmed for shallower vessels. Fix each with a wick sticker and hold it upright while the wax sets.
3
Pour well under the glass limitCSI 468's page states a pour of 58–60°C, which leaves 25–27°C of headroom under the apothecary jar's stated 85°C. If you use a hotter-pouring wax, keep the reading under 85°C in rated jars, and test the borosilicate and clip-top jars at your real temperature because their pages give no figure.
4
Cure for the full 14–21 daysStandard practice for soy-based container candles, and non-negotiable for a luxury scent that has to perform on first light. Cure lidded, at room temperature, away from sunlight.
5
Burn to a full pool and watch the wallNote how long the pool takes to reach the glass, whether the single-wick jar leaves a ring of hard wax, any soot, and how the flame behaves as the candle deepens. Keep the layout — one wick or two — that melts to the wall cleanly and burns steadily.
6
Check the closure as a customer wouldSeat the dome lids, close the clip top and the gold lid on cold, cured candles. A lid that rattles or will not seat undoes the luxury impression. Then photograph the finished candle lidded and unlidded — if it does not look expensive in a photo, it will not sell as expensive online.
Lids are for storage, not for snuffing
None of the luxury jar pages give burning instructions for their lids. As a general safety rule, remove dome lids, gold lids and clip tops completely before lighting, never put a lid onto a burning or hot candle, and close it only once the wax has set again. Put that line on your candle care label — CSI's Candle Care Stickers Roll lists 500 at ₹413 and 1,000 at ₹699.

Matte and coloured glass belong in a luxury range too, as the everyday companion to the statement jar. The fourteen matte, frosted and glossy 200 ml jars at ₹70.80 give a black-or-white minimalist line at a third of the 500 gm apothecary price. Their pages do not mention a lid, so if a lid is part of your luxury presentation, confirm before ordering or plan a lidless product with a box. The coloured 150 g jars at ₹107 add a lid and a stated 85°C limit, but their descriptions reuse the clear jar's copy, so confirm the lid colour for your chosen shade on WhatsApp.

Buying luxury jars at volume

Every statement jar in this guide is sold one at a time. That is not a problem — it just changes how you ask for volume.

No multi-jar pack is listed for the apothecary, borosilicate, clip-top or dome-lid jars, so the listed per-jar price is both your sample price and your planning ceiling. The table shows what 50 of each lists at, which is the right number to budget until a quote says otherwise.

Timing matters more than price for luxury gifting. Diwali falls on 8 November 2026; with a 14–21 day cure, candles for Diwali gifting need to be poured by mid-October, which means the vessel must already be qualified and the jars in hand before then. It is mid-September now. If you are building a festive statement range, sample this month, and put the exact listing, size, quantity and required-by date to CSI on WhatsApp rather than assuming stock will be there in October. Seasonal planning is covered in best candle fragrance combinations for premium gift boxes.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies candle raw materials and containers, not finished candles. The easy advice on a luxury jar page is "buy the most expensive glass". The costings above say something less convenient for a seller of jars: in a statement candle poured with a premium oil, the glass is the smallest of your three main costs, and the ₹354 jar with no stated specification should be measured before it is bought in volume.

Every price, fill, dimension, closure and heat line is taken from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing and specification always take precedence. Fills are quoted in the unit and wording each page uses, and cost stacks fill each jar to its stated capacity with the assumptions listed below.

Frequently asked questions

What is the price of luxury candle jars wholesale in India?
At CSI in September 2026, the statement vessels are ₹200 for the Borosilicate Glass Jar 600 g, ₹212.40 and ₹250 for the Apothecary Dome Lid jar (500 gm and 700 gm), ₹229 for the Clip Top Airtight Container and ₹354 for the Candle Jar with Dome Lid, all sold singly. The Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram) is ₹94.40 a jar in packs of 10 or 20. Recurring volumes are quoted on WhatsApp.
How much wax does a 500 g apothecary candle jar hold?
The page states a fill capacity of ~500 g – 700 g across two sizes. A 500 g candle at a 10% fragrance load is 450 g of wax and 50 g of oil; the 700 g size is 630 g and 70 g. The same dimensions are stated for both sizes, so fill one sample to your chosen line and weigh it before planning a batch. One 10 kg bag of CSI 468 fills about 22 × 500 g or 15 × 700 g candles before spills.
Are luxury candle jars safe for hot pour?
The Apothecary Dome Lid jar and the 150 g golden-lid jars state "Safe for hot-pour up to 85°C". The borosilicate page describes "heat-resistant" glass without a figure, and the clip-top and ₹354 dome-lid pages state nothing. A low-pour wax helps: Coconut Soy CSI 468 is stated to pour at 58–60°C. Pour under 85°C in rated jars and test the others at your real temperature before a volume order.
What wick should I use in a large luxury candle jar?
The only stated large-diameter guidance in the CSI range is that Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made (₹12 each) are engineered for candles exceeding 8 cm, with a 10.16 cm wick height. The jar pages do not state whether one or two wicks are needed, so test one against two in the real vessel, cured, and keep the layout that melts cleanly to the glass without soot.
Can I buy apothecary candle jars in bulk packs of 50 or 100?
Not as a listed pack. The Apothecary Dome Lid jar is sold singly at ₹212.40 (500 gm) or ₹250 (700 gm), so 50 jars list at ₹10,620 or ₹12,500 — treat that as a ceiling. For recurring or festive volumes, send the size, quantity, required-by date, pincode and GST number on WhatsApp for a quote. Sample and qualify the jar first, and confirm which dimensions belong to each size.
Does the jar or the fragrance cost more in a luxury candle?
With a premium oil, the fragrance costs more. At 10% with Dark Vanilla Oud and CSI 468, the 500 gm apothecary candle carries ₹284.55 of oil and ₹286.65 of wax against a ₹212.40 jar; in the 700 gm size the oil is ₹398.37 against a ₹250 jar. With British Rose (₹3,068 per kg) the 500 gm candle's oil is ₹153.40, so the jar leads. In small candles the jar leads anyway: 34.4% of materials in the 150 g golden-lid jar.
