Professional Candle Making Equipment in India
Share
What do professionals buy first? Control, at ₹1,232.82: a Candle Making Weighing Scale ₹354, a Pen Thermometer ₹354, the CSI Pro Mixer ₹349 and a Silicone Spatula ₹175.82. That is less than the wax, oil and wick inside seven 200g candles.
What does a whole professional bench cost? ₹7,111.82 built around the 1 litre Mini Electric Wax Melter, ₹27,879.82 around the 10 kg Electric Wax Melter with the pouring funnel, and ₹32,599.82 around the 20 kg version.
Does CSI sell candle-making machines? No automated moulding, filling or wicking machine is listed. The professional equipment CSI lists is electric wax melters, a lever pouring funnel, a cordless mixer, a hot air gun and hand tools.
What makes equipment "professional"
A hobby maker judges a batch by how it looks on the day. A professional judges it by whether the next batch will be the same, because a customer who reorders a scent expects the candle they already love, not a cousin of it. That single demand — repeatability — is what separates professional equipment from kitchen equipment. It shows up in three properties, and every tool on this page is here because it supplies one of them.
The first is measurement. Fragrance load is a weight percentage of the finished candle — a 200g candle at 8% is 184g of wax and 16g of oil — and wax pages print temperatures to work to, such as 80–90°C to add fragrance to Luxury Soy Wax Chunks. A cup and a guess cannot hit either. The second is fixture: anything that holds a variable still, like a wick holder that keeps a wick centred until the wax sets. The third is capacity sized to a session — enough temperature-held wax to finish a run without re-melting halfway through a scent.
| Job | Kitchen workaround | Professional tool at CSI | Price | What the page states |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weighing wax and oil | Measuring cup, "one bottle per kilo" | Candle Making Weighing Scale | ₹354 | Digital LCD, grams or ounces, one-button operation; maximum load not stated |
| Reading temperature | Touch, timing, guesswork | Pen Thermometer | ₹354 | Designed for candle wax; temperature range not stated |
| Blending fragrance | A spoon and a few turns | CSI Pro Mixer | ₹349 | USB-C rechargeable; 30–45 minutes' use per charge; avoid wax above 95°C |
| Scraping the pot | Kitchen spoon | Silicone Spatula | ₹175.82 | Heat-resistant up to 250°C; food-grade, BPA-free silicone |
| Melting and holding | Pan in a pan on the stove | Mini Electric Wax Melter · Electric Wax Melter | ₹2,360 · ₹21,240 · ₹25,960 | Mini: 1 litre, 300W/600W. Large: 10 kg or 20 kg capacity, display 60–100°C, ±10°C deviation |
| Pouring | Tipping the melting pot | Steel Pouring Pitcher · Wax Pouring Funnel | ₹708 · ₹1,888 | Pitcher: 600 ml, 12 × 13 cm. Funnel: food-grade stainless steel, lever control, rack included; capacity not stated |
| Holding wicks | Clothes pegs, chopsticks | Steel Wick Holder · Wick Setting Tool | ₹50 each · ₹399 | Holder: 3-hole layout, fits jars up to 9 cm wide. Setting tool: magnetic, "compatible with most jar sizes" |
| Finishing tops | Hair dryer | Hot Air Gun | ₹531 | Reaches about 200°C within a few seconds; temperature cannot be adjusted |
Two things stand out. Several pages state less than you might want — the thermometer's range, the scale's maximum and the funnel's capacity are not given — so check those tools on your own bench before a production run. And melting is the only line where a higher price buys more output rather than more accuracy, which is exactly why it is bought third.
The five tiers, priced
Here is the complete professional bench from the CSI range, grouped by what each tier protects. The running total shows what you have spent once each tier is in place. Tier 3 is a choice between three melters; the running total uses the 1 litre mini melter, and the 10 kg and 20 kg alternatives are shown in the last row with the funnel that usually joins them on a production bench.
| Tier | Tools | Tier cost | Bench total | Buy it when |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 · Control | Weighing Scale ₹354 · Pen Thermometer ₹354 · CSI Pro Mixer ₹349 · Silicone Spatula ₹175.82 | ₹1,232.82 | ₹1,232.82 | Before your next batch, whatever size it is |
| 2 · Pour & wick fixtures | Steel Pouring Pitcher 600 ml ₹708 · Steel Wick Holder pack of 25 ₹1,250 · Wick Setting Tool ₹399 · Candle Wick Stickers 40 ₹100 | ₹2,457 | ₹3,689.82 | When a session is more jars than you can hold straight by hand |
| 3 · Melting capacity | Mini Electric Wax Melter 1 L ₹2,360 | ₹2,360 | ₹6,049.82 | When a stovetop pan is limiting how evenly and how long you hold wax |
| 4 · Finishing & QC | Hot Air Gun ₹531 · Candle Wick Cutter (11 cm) ₹295 · Steel Scraper ₹236 | ₹1,062 | ₹7,111.82 | Before the first candle is sold |
| 3 + 5 · Capacity and flow, scaled | Electric Wax Melter 10 kg ₹21,240 or 20 kg ₹25,960, replacing the mini · Wax Pouring Funnel (4 nozzles) ₹1,888 | ₹23,128 or ₹27,848 | ₹27,879.82 or ₹32,599.82 | When one session regularly needs more wax than the mini holds and pouring is the slow step |
Read the table from the top and a pattern appears. The first four tiers together cost ₹7,111.82, which is about a third of the 10 kg melter on its own. The jump from a complete small-batch bench to a complete 10 kg bench is ₹20,768, and almost all of it is one machine. That is the right shape: the tools that set quality are cheap and bought early; the tool that sets volume is expensive and bought when volume is proven. Tier 2 deliberately holds one pitcher; add a second when you pour two scents back to back.
Tier 1: control — what professionals buy first
Control tools are the cheapest insurance in candle making because the failures they prevent are silent until the candle burns. An under-weighed oil charge, or fragrance added ten degrees too cool, looks identical in the jar; you find out after cure, when the whole batch is already poured. The three cards below carry the control tier; the fourth tool, the Silicone Spatula at ₹175.82, earns its place by getting the last wax out of the pot, and its page states heat resistance up to 250°C.
| Item | Price | Stated | Rejected 200g candles it must prevent |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weighing Scale | ₹354 | Grams or ounces · capacity not stated | 1.77 (₹354 ÷ ₹199.82) |
| Item | Price | Stated | Rejected 200g candles it must prevent |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pen Thermometer | ₹354 | For candle wax · range not stated | 1.77 (₹354 ÷ ₹199.82) |
| Item | Price | Stated | Rejected 200g candles it must prevent |
|---|---|---|---|
| CSI Pro Mixer | ₹349 | 30–45 min per charge · below 95°C | 1.75 (₹349 ÷ ₹199.82) |
The pay-back yardstick is the ₹199.82 of materials inside one 200g candle. It ignores the jar, the label and your time, so every tool looks harder to justify than it really is.
| Tool | Price | The failure it guards against | Candles to pay back |
|---|---|---|---|
| Silicone Spatula | ₹175.82 | Wax left clinging to the pot on every batch | 0.88 |
| CSI Pro Mixer | ₹349 | Oil not fully blended; uneven throw across a batch | 1.75 |
| Weighing Scale | ₹354 | Load drift from measuring by volume | 1.77 |
| Pen Thermometer | ₹354 | Fragrance added or wax poured outside the wax page's stated range | 1.77 |
| Wick Setting Tool | ₹399 | Wick drift in wide or premium jars | 2.00 |
| Hot Air Gun | ₹531 | Rough or cratered tops sold as seconds | 2.66 |
| Steel Wick Holders × 25 | ₹1,250 | Off-centre wicks that tunnel on one side | 6.26 |
| Mini Electric Wax Melter | ₹2,360 | Temperature swings and scorching on a stove | 11.81 |
| Electric Wax Melter 10 kg | ₹21,240 | Not an error tool — it buys capacity | 106.30 |
Tier 2: pouring and wick fixtures
Once measurements are right, the next source of variation is your hands. A wick that leans three millimetres after pouring makes a candle that tunnels on one side; a pour that splashes leaves a tide mark on the glass that no customer forgives. Fixtures remove those variables at a cost of tens of rupees per jar position, and the tier costs ₹2,457 in total.
The Steel Pouring Pitcher is the professional's go-between: melt in the melter, draw off a pitcher, weigh and scent it on the scale, pour. The page states 12W × 13H centimetres and a capacity of 600 ml, and lists it for soy, beeswax, paraffin and gel. Only the Large (600 ML) at ₹708 is in stock; the 150 ml Small is sold out. Because the capacity is in millilitres, fill it with your own molten wax once, weigh it, and write the working fill on the handle in grams. The Candle Wax Pouring Jug (₹531, 4.5 × 9.25 × 5.5 inches, capacity not stated) is the lighter alternative. The deeper comparison is in buying a pouring pitcher for candle making.
| Size | Price | Per piece | Jar positions per pour |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pack of 5 | ₹250 | ₹50 | ≈5 |
| Pack of 10 | ₹500 | ₹50 | ≈10 |
| Pack of 25 | ₹1,250 | ₹50 | ≈25 |
Tiers 3 and 5: melting capacity and flow
CSI lists three electric melters. The Mini Electric Wax/Soap Melter at ₹2,360 states a 1 litre capacity with dual power modes, 300W and 600W, Gear I at approximately 70–85°C and Gear II up to 100–120°C, a seamless stainless steel leak-proof liner, and a 1-year warranty in its title. The imported Electric Wax Melter is listed in 10 kg (₹21,240) and 20 kg (₹25,960) capacities. Its page states a display ranging from 60°C to 100°C with a ±10°C deviation, and that it "can melt 10 kg of soy wax in approximately 30 minutes at 100°C" for the 10 kg model. It does not state wattage or warranty terms for either size — ask on WhatsApp before you plan the electrical point.
| Size | Price | Per kg | 200g candles per full melt @ 8% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 kgs capacity | ₹21,240 | ₹2,124 | ≈54 |
| 20 kgs capacity | ₹25,960 | ₹1,298 | ≈108 |
The decision between them belongs to its own guides — the wax melting machine comparison for small businesses works through the mini against the 10 kg and 20 kg with labelled time assumptions, and the professional wax melter guide covers the 10 kg versus 20 kg choice and holding temperatures by wax. Here, one rule is enough: count the grams one session needs. Thirty 200g candles need 5,520g of wax (30 × 184g). If that means several refills of a 1 litre melter every session, the big melter solves a real problem; for ten candles on a weekend, it does not.
Tier 5 arrives with volume. When a melter holds wax for 54 or 108 candles, the slow step moves from melting to pouring. The Wax Pouring Funnel (With 4 nozzles) at ₹1,888 is made of food-grade stainless steel, with lever control of the flow, an included rack, a removable handle, a silicone plug and an automatic spring-back. Its capacity is not stated, so weigh a full load of your wax in it before planning how many jars one fill covers. It improves no single candle; it makes a row of them tidier and more consistent.
Tier 4: finishing and quality control
A candle is judged twice: when the box is opened and when it is lit. The first judgement is about the top surface, the wick length and clean glass, and Tier 4 (₹1,062) exists for it.
The Hot Air Gun at ₹531 states that it reaches about 200°C within a few seconds, that its temperature cannot be adjusted, and that it should be used at a 5–6 cm distance at about a 45 degree angle. Its page lists general craft uses; candle makers commonly use a heat gun to re-flow a rough or cratered top, and because this one is not adjustable, keep it moving and practise on a reject first. The Candle Wick Cutter at ₹295 states an 11 cm total size and a 5.5 cm blade; a second listing at ₹177 states 10.5 cm with a 3 cm blade, and the Candle Wick Trimmer at ₹588.82 carries the burning advice "Trim your wick to 1/4 inch before every burn". The Steel Scraper at ₹236 clears spilled wax from benches and moulds.
| Check | When | Tool | Pass looks like |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weight of a filled jar | First, middle and last jar of every run | Weighing Scale ₹354 | Within a few grams of your written recipe weight |
| Wick centred and upright | After the wax sets, before removing holders | Steel Wick Holder ₹50 · eye check from above | Wick in the centre, standing straight |
| Top surface | After setting, before lidding | Hot Air Gun ₹531 | Smooth top, no craters or sinkholes |
| Wick length | Before packing | Candle Wick Cutter ₹295 | Every candle trimmed to the same length |
| Batch record | At the bench, as you work | Pen Thermometer ₹354 readings | Actual add and pour temperatures written down, not targets |
| Burn test | After cure, one candle per batch | None — calendar time | Full melt pool, no soot, throw you would pay for |
A hot air gun hides sinkholes and wet spots; it does not fix their cause. If more than the odd candle needs re-flowing, check your pour temperature against the wax page first; why candles get wet spots and sinkholes walks through it.
The professional buying order, step by step
Here is the sequence, written as the steps a maker takes when moving from kitchen tools to a professional bench. Each step changes one thing, so you can see what it improved before you spend on the next.
What is not here: CSI does not list an automated candle-making machine — nothing that moulds, fills or wicks candles by itself. The candle-making machine guide for small businesses explains what the term usually means and when automation makes sense. If a number the pages do not state decides your purchase, ask before you order.
CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies candle-making raw materials and equipment; we do not sell finished candles. We list a ₹25,960 melter and we would happily sell it. We are telling you to spend ₹1,232.82 on a scale, a thermometer, a mixer and a spatula first, because a maker whose first big batch fails blames the wax, the oil and the supplier — and a maker whose batches repeat keeps ordering all three.
Every price and pack on this page is taken from live CSI stock in September 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing always takes precedence. Capacities, temperatures, dimensions and warranty terms are quoted only where the product page states them: 1 litre and 300W/600W for the mini melter with a 1-year warranty in its title; 10 kg and 20 kg capacities, a 60–100°C display and ±10°C deviation for the Electric Wax Melter (Imported); 600 ml for the Steel Pouring Pitcher; 9 cm for the Steel Wick Holder; 30–45 minutes per charge for the CSI Pro Mixer. Where a page states nothing — the thermometer's range, the scale's maximum, the funnel's capacity, the large melters' wattage — we say so.
For wattage and warranty questions on the large melters, bulk pricing, GST invoicing, MSDS or IFRA documentation for the waxes and oils you will melt in them, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.
