Every 10 kg soy wax price, side by side

CSI's wax collection holds 15 waxes. Seven are soy or coconut-soy candle waxes; five of those list a 10 kg bag, one reaches 10 kg only through 5 kg bags, and one tops out at 1 kg. The table sets every one of them out on the same basis: the cheapest listed way to buy 10 kg, the price per kilo and per gram, the wax inside one 200g candle at 8% (184g), and what the product page actually states about fragrance load. Soy Wax 464 Pellets are listed but sold out, so they are left out.

The five listed 10 kg bags span ₹2,122 (₹4,248 to ₹6,370). Inside a 200g candle that is ₹39.04. Include Eco Soy CSI 400 and the spread from cheapest to CSI 468 is ₹2,378 per 10 kg and ₹43.76 per candle. Premium Coconut Soy Wax sits well above the rest because it is listed only in 500g and 1 kg packs at ₹920 a kilo; it is not a 10 kg buy, and it appears here only so you can see where it sits.

Two cautions before anyone reads the table as a ranking. First, Soy Pillar Wax is not a substitute for a container wax; its page describes pouring into a pillar mould, so compare it only with other pillar options. Second, the two cheapest options — Eco Soy CSI 400 and Natural Soy Pearl Wax — are the two whose pages state no maximum fragrance load, and Natural Soy Pearl Wax states no temperatures either. A low price with no stated specification is not a bad buy, but it moves the cost of finding the specification onto you, and that cost belongs in the comparison. Bag, 5 kg pairs or 1 kg packs: the cheapest way to pay for 10 kg

A search for "10 kg soy wax price" assumes the 10 kg bag is the cheapest way to own 10 kg. On CSI's listed prices the bag actually saves money on only two waxes. The table prices 10 kg of each wax through every listed route.

What the routes table does tell you is where not to overpay. CSI 464's 500g pack is ₹520 per kilo against ₹507.40 for everything larger, so twenty of them cost ₹126 more than the bag. Natural Soy Pearl Wax bought as ten 1 kg packs costs ₹252 more than the bag. If you are pouring 10 kg of either, buy the bag. What the price gap means per candle and per 54 candles

Price gaps are easiest to judge against one reference wax. The table below uses Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 as the reference, because it is the lowest-priced wax that states both a fragrance load and temperatures. Every other wax is shown as more or less expensive than it per 10 kg, per 200g candle and per 54 candles — the number of 200g candles in one bag.

*Wax share assumes the same non-wax materials in every candle: 16g of Sandalwood Fragrance Oil at the 1 kg price (₹5,026.80, so ₹80.43), one Eco Candle Wick Thin (C1) at ₹5.90, and one 200ml Salsa Glass Jar at ₹29.50 from the 100-pack — ₹115.83 in total. The jar is stated in millilitres, not grams, so check the fill weight you actually get before copying the maths. Labels, boxes and your time sit on top and dilute the wax share further.

Read the last column carefully. Wax is a big line — roughly two-fifths to half of the raw materials in this candle — so the price gap is not nothing. But it moves slowly: switching from CSI 464 to Luxury Soy Chunks raises the candle's materials from ₹209.19 to ₹226.21, an 8.1% rise, and the retail price of a 200g soy candle is normally set by the jar, the scent and the brand, not by that ₹17.02. Load headroom: when the cheaper wax cannot make your candle

The per-candle gap only matters if both waxes can make the candle you sell. The first thing that rules a wax out is its stated fragrance ceiling. CSI 464 is stated up to 10%. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and CSI 468 are stated up to 13%. Eco Soy CSI 400 and Natural Soy Pearl Wax state no ceiling at all. Those ceilings are formulation limits for each wax, not regulatory limits and not targets — but they do decide which waxes are even eligible for a given recipe.

Two lessons come out of that table. The first is the obvious one: if your proven recipe needs 11–13%, CSI 464's lower price is irrelevant, because you would be working above its stated ceiling. The cheapest eligible wax for that candle is Luxury Soy Chunks. The second lesson is more useful day to day: each extra percentage point of load on a 200g candle adds 2g of oil — ₹10.05 of Sandalwood at 1 kg pricing — while the 2g of wax it replaces is worth about ₹1 (₹1.01 on CSI 464, ₹1.20 on Chunks). Going from 8% to 10% on CSI 464 adds ₹18.08 to the candle, more than the entire wax gap between CSI 464 and Luxury Soy Chunks. The expensive decision is the load, not the bag.

Rejects: the cost that isn't on the price tag

The second thing that can flip a price comparison is how many candles you cannot sell. A candle with a sinkhole, a wet spot you won't ship, a cracked top, a tunnel on the test burn — each one throws away the wax and the oil, wick and jar that went with it. That is why rejects are priced per sellable candle: total materials ÷ (1 − reject rate).

The reject rates below are illustrative, not measured for any CSI wax. Reject rates depend overwhelmingly on your jar, your wick, your temperatures and your room, and the only rate that means anything is the one you log yourself. The point of the table is the breakeven, not the percentages.

Now the breakeven. If Luxury Soy Chunks give you 2% rejects in your jar, its sellable candle costs ₹230.83. CSI 464 only costs more than that per sellable candle once its reject rate passes about 9.4% — more than seven points worse. Eco Soy CSI 400 stays cheaper than CSI 464 at 2% until it passes about 11.3%. In plain terms: for these waxes, the cheaper bag almost always gives the cheaper candle, and only a genuinely poor match between wax and vessel flips it. That is reassuring, and it is also the warning — a poor match is exactly what an untested bag can be.

Most makers who run this procedure end up where the numbers above suggest: CSI 464 for recipes at or below 10%, Luxury Soy Chunks for anything that needs more, and CSI 468 when the candle is priced as premium.
