Only one CSI soy wax is listed in a 50 kg pack. For every other wax, 50 kg is a combination of listed bags — five 10 kg bags, or ten 5 kg bags where that route lists lower or is the largest pack available. The table uses the lowest listed route for each wax and puts the result inside one 200g candle at 8% (184g of wax).

The five container options span ₹11,890 on 50 kg. That is a real cheque. Inside a single 200g candle it is ₹43.76 — ₹11,859 across the 271 candles the order makes. What matters is how that compares with everything else in the candle, which is what the rest of this guide works out.

Notice the last two columns too. The two lowest-priced waxes state the least: Eco Soy CSI 400 states an add temperature but no load, and Natural Soy Pearl Wax states neither. The three higher-priced waxes state a fragrance ceiling, temperatures and — for CSI 464 and CSI 468 — a 60-month shelf life in cool, dry storage. At 50 kg, stock may sit for weeks or months, so that last line has more value than it does on a 1 kg pack.

One 50 kg pack or five bags: what the listing shows

Natural Soy Pearl Wax is the only soy wax a buyer can order as one 50 kg pack, at ₹21,240. It is natural to assume that pack carries a bulk price. The listing says otherwise: its per-kilo price is ₹450 at 1 kg and ₹424.80 at 5 kg, 10 kg and 50 kg alike. The step happens once, at 5 kg, and never again.

The same pattern holds across the range. CSI 464, Soy Pillar Wax and CSI 468 list the same per-kilo price at 5 kg and 10 kg, so five 10 kg bags and ten 5 kg bags cost the same. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks list ₹599 a kilo in 5 kg bags and ₹599.90 in 10 kg bags, which makes ten 5 kg bags ₹45 cheaper than five 10 kg bags on 50 kg. In every case the bag size is a handling decision. What 50 kg of each wax does to your margin

To see what the wax choice does to margin, hold everything else fixed. The example candle below is a 200g container candle at 8% in a Black Matte Glass Jar (₹70.80 each in a pack of 10; the page states a fill weight of 200 ml, so check your own fill), with 16g of Woody Oud Fragrance Oil at its 1 kg price (₹4,531.20, so ₹72.50) and one Eco Candle Wick Thick (C2) at ₹9.44. Those non-wax materials come to ₹152.74.

The selling prices of ₹499 and ₹699 are examples only — not recommendations and not market data. Margin here means materials margin: selling price minus wax, oil, wick and jar. It is before labels, boxes, GST, shipping, payment fees, rejects, labour and marketing, all of which you must take out of it.

Working for one row, CSI 464: wax ₹507.40 × 0.184 = ₹93.36; plus ₹152.74 = ₹246.10 of materials; ₹699 − ₹246.10 = ₹452.90, which is 64.8% of ₹699; × 271 candles = ₹1,22,735.68. Every other row follows the same steps. The oil line is worth noticing: ₹72.50 of Woody Oud is almost the same as the jar, and on the two cheapest waxes it costs about as much as the wax itself. Margin points, not rupees per kilo

Rupees per kilo is how wax is sold; margin points are how a business survives. Converting one into the other is the most useful thing you can do before a 50 kg order, because it tells you whether a price difference is strategic or trivial.

Working: extra on 50 kg = difference in listed 50 kg totals (for example ₹29,950 − ₹25,370 = ₹4,580); extra per candle = per-kilo difference × 0.184 (₹91.60 × 0.184 = ₹16.85); margin points = extra per candle ÷ ₹699 × 100. Holding the same rupee margin needs a retail rise equal to the extra per candle. Holding the same percentage margin needs more: to keep CSI 464's 64.8% on a Luxury Soy Chunks candle, the example ₹699 would have to become about ₹747, because the higher cost base is also marked up. Most brands price to a rupee figure and a round retail point, so the rupee column is the practical one.

Read down the "extra per candle" column and a pattern appears. The move from Luxury Soy Chunks to CSI 468 — the "premium" step — costs under ₹7 a candle. The move from CSI 464 to Luxury Soy Chunks, which is the move from a stated 10% ceiling to a stated 13% ceiling, costs ₹16.85. The move from an unstated-spec wax to a stated-spec wax (Natural Soy Pearl → CSI 464) costs ₹15.20. None of these is small enough to ignore across 271 candles; none is large enough to make or break a well-priced candle on its own.

Choosing on cost versus performance

"Performance" is a slippery word on a wax page, so here it means only what can be pinned down: what the product page states, and what your own burn tests show. The table lists the performance reasons that genuinely justify a dearer 50 kg, and the lower-priced option to take when that reason does not apply to you.

The honest conclusion is that most of these are yes/no questions about your recipe, not matters of taste. If your best-selling scent needs 11%, CSI 464 is not an option at any price. If your recipe works at 8% and you pour within a month of delivery, the stated shelf life and headroom are not doing anything for you, and the lower-priced waxes you have tested win on margin. The one question that genuinely involves judgement is positioning, and that one is settled by the price you can actually charge. A note on storage, because it bears on the price decision: 50 kg is about five months of wax for a maker pouring 10 kg a month. If that describes you, the stated 60-month shelf life on CSI 464 and CSI 468 is worth something, and cool, dry, sealed storage matters whichever wax you choose. If you pour 50 kg a month, you are closer to the planning problems in buying 100 kg of soy wax a month, and splitting deliveries matters more than shelf life.
