1,840 kg
the monthly wax requirement at 10,000 candles a month on a 184 g fill · ₹933,616 on CSI 464 at ₹507.40/kg · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
How much wax does a candle manufacturer actually need per month? At a 184 g fill: 184 kg at 1,000 units, 920 kg at 5,000 units, 1,840 kg at 10,000 units. At a 135 g fill: 135 kg, 675 kg, 1,350 kg. At a 65 g votive fill: 65 kg, 325 kg, 650 kg. Full table with pack counts and spend below.

How deep do CSI packs go? Most grades stop at 10 kg. Only Natural Soy Pearl Wax reaches 50 kg at ₹21,240. Eco Soy CSI 400 stops at 5 kg. Several specialist waxes stop at 1 kg. At 920 kg a month you are buying many bags, not a drum.

So can CSI supply a manufacturer? Often yes — but raise the volume on WhatsApp instead of assuming from the listed packs. The website is built for pack quantities. A monthly tonnage requirement is a conversation, and sometimes the answer is no.

What should I demand on every delivery? GST invoice in the company name, the same grade name every time, MSDS and IFRA on request, a recorded batch reference, and a retained sample per intake.
The short answer
Work in kilograms per month, not bags per order. Fill weight × monthly units = tonnage. 5,000 units at 184 g is 920 kg — 92 bags of 10 kg on CSI 464 at ₹466,808, or 18 × 50 kg plus 2 × 10 kg on Natural Soy Pearl Wax at ₹390,816.
Pack depth is the real constraint, not price. 10 kg is the deepest pack on most CSI grades. Decide whether your floor can handle 92 bags a month before you decide which grade is cheapest per kilogram.
Lock the grade, then lock the paperwork. A silent formulation change at 5,000 units a month means re-testing an entire range mid-season. Get the grade name written identically on every invoice and keep a retained sample against every intake batch.

Monthly wax requirement at a 184 g fill, and the bags it implies 1,000 / month 184 kg · 19 bags of 10 kg 5,000 / month 920 kg · 92 bags of 10 kg 10,000 / month 1,840 kg · 184 bags of 10 kg Bar length is proportional to tonnage. 10 kg is the deepest pack on most CSI grades; only Natural Soy Pearl Wax reaches 50 kg.
The number that should govern your buying is the bag count, not the tonnage. 184 kg a month is a delivery. 1,840 kg a month is 184 separate 10 kg bags to receive, weigh, log, stack and issue to the floor — a materially different operation, with a materially different labour cost, at the same rupees per kilogram.
Straight answer
Can CSI supply a candle manufacturer running 1,000 to 10,000 units a month?
For most units at the lower end, yes, off the shelf. 1,000 candles a month at a 184 g fill is 184 kg — roughly nineteen 10 kg bags of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at ₹5,074 each, about ₹93,362 of wax a month. That is an ordinary order. At 5,000 units it becomes 920 kg, and at 10,000 units it is 1,840 kg — and at those volumes the constraint stops being price and becomes pack depth. Most CSI grades stop at 10 kg; only Natural Soy Pearl Wax reaches a 50 kg pack at ₹21,240, and Eco Soy CSI 400 stops at 5 kg. So the honest answer is: the listed packs on the website are not the answer to a manufacturing requirement, they are the answer to a maker's requirement. If you are buying in tonnes, message the volume, the grade and the delivery cadence on WhatsApp and get a direct answer rather than inferring one from a product page. Storage, decanting and shelf life are handled in the bulk wax storage guide; the full grade-by-grade price matrix is in the wholesale wax matrix; everything beyond wax is in materials for commercial production.
One line: multiply fill weight by monthly units, convert to bags, price the bags — then send the tonnage to a human before you assume the pack sizes on the site are the limit.
At 920 kg a month, the melting station is the bottleneck long before the supplier is. The WAX MELTER (Imported) is ₹21,240 for the 10 kg capacity and ₹25,960 for 20 kg; the 20-litre Electric Wax Melter is ₹23,600. Sonal Sahani's review below reports 10 kg melting in 20–30 minutes.

Your monthly tonnage, in kilograms and in rupees

A maker asks what wax costs per kilogram. A manufacturer asks what a month of production weighs, and whether the floor can physically receive it.

Everything on this page starts from one multiplication: fill weight × monthly units = monthly wax requirement. The three fill weights below are the ones that cover most Indian commercial ranges — a 184 g fill for a standard 200 g jar candle carrying a 16 g fragrance load, a 135 g fill for the common tin and mid-size jar, and a 65 g fill for votives and the gifting-set units that carry festive volume. Pick your own and redo the arithmetic; the method matters more than the three examples.

The pricing column below uses Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at its deepest pack rate of ₹507.40 per kilogram (₹5,074 per 10 kg), because it is the container grade most production units standardise on, and Natural Soy Pearl Wax at ₹424.80 per kilogram (₹21,240 per 50 kg) as the comparison, because it is the only grade in the range that goes to a 50 kg pack. The gap between them is ₹82.60 per kilogram. That is a small number per candle and a very large number per year, and the section after this one explains why you should not chase it blindly.

65 g 10,000 650 kg 65 × 10 kg ₹329,810.00 13 × 50 kg ₹276,120.00
Priced above: Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (Flakes) — ₹260 / 500 g, ₹507.40 / 1 kg, ₹2,537 / 5 kg, ₹5,074 / 10 kg (₹507.40 per kg at every tier from 1 kg up) · Natural Soy Pearl Wax — ₹450 / 1 kg, ₹2,124 / 5 kg, ₹4,248 / 10 kg, ₹21,240 / 50 kg (₹424.80 per kg from 5 kg up). Wax cost per candle at 184 g: ₹93.36 on CSI 464, ₹78.16 on Pearl Wax. At 135 g: ₹68.50 and ₹57.35. At 65 g: ₹32.98 and ₹27.61. The linked product page is always authoritative on current price and stock.

Two things fall out of that table that are easy to miss. The first is that CSI 464 does not get cheaper per kilogram as the pack gets bigger — ₹507.40 per kg at 1 kg is ₹507.40 per kg at 10 kg. The 10 kg bag saves you handling, not money. Natural Soy Pearl Wax does step down, from ₹450 per kg at 1 kg to ₹424.80 per kg from the 5 kg pack upward, and then holds flat to 50 kg. If you assumed that a deeper pack automatically means a lower unit rate, the catalogue does not support that assumption, and neither does the full price matrix across every grade.

The second is the annual figure. A unit pouring 5,000 candles a month at 184 g runs 11,040 kg of wax a year. On CSI 464 that is ₹5,601,696; on Pearl Wax ₹4,689,792 — a difference of ₹911,904. That is a genuine sum and it should be on the table. It should also not be the only thing on the table. The two waxes are not the same material, they do not pour the same and they will not wick the same — so capturing ₹82.60 a kilogram and then discovering the whole range needs re-wicking is not a saving, it is a re-development project with a discount attached. What that costs is set out under grade continuity below.

Add the fragrance line before you sign off the budget
On a 200 g candle the fragrance line can be larger than the wax line, and it is the one that moves most. At a 16 g load, Citrus Lemon at ₹2,832 per kg adds ₹45.31 per candle, while Vanilla Bean at ₹7,646 per kg adds ₹122.34. Against ₹93.36 of CSI 464 in the same candle, the vanilla is the bigger line. At 5,000 units a month the spread between those two oils alone is ₹385,120 a month — larger than the entire wax saving above. There are 92 fragrance oils in stock; the per-unit sums are worked through in how much fragrance oil a candle business needs and priced in how to price candles in India 2026.

Where our pack depth runs out, stated plainly

This is the part of the page that costs us money to write, so here it is first: CSI's listed pack sizes are built for makers and small studios, not for tonnage. Ten kilograms is the deepest pack on almost every grade we stock. One grade — Natural Soy Pearl Wax — goes to 50 kg. Several waxes that manufacturers ask about stop at 1 kg. If you have arrived here expecting to click a 200 kg drum into a cart, that is not what the catalogue offers.

Semi Refined Paraffin Wax 1 kg — ₹220 ₹220.00 920 packs
Premium Coconut Soy Wax 1 kg — ₹920 ₹920.00 920 packs
The cheapest headline rate has the shallowest pack. Eco Soy CSI 400 is the cheapest soy per kilogram in the range at ₹399.20, and on the spreadsheet it beats CSI 464 by ₹108.20 a kilogram — ₹99,544 a month at 920 kg. But it stops at a 5 kg pack, which means 184 bags a month instead of 92. Every one of those bags has to be received, checked, weighed, logged, stacked and split open at the melter. If your goods-in process takes even ninety seconds a bag, you have added roughly two and a half hours of labour a month to save on paper. Price the handling, then decide. Sometimes Eco Soy still wins; often it does not.

Be equally clear-eyed about what 92 bags means physically: a pallet's worth of movement arriving as individual sacks, probably across more than one consignment, needing somewhere clean, dry, off the floor and out of direct sun until it is issued. A unit that has not thought about wax storage before it hits 900 kg a month learns about it the hard way. That side is covered in the bulk wax storage guide, which is worth reading before the first large delivery rather than after it.

The CSI principle
Do not infer our capability from our cart. Ask.
The product pages exist to sell packs. A monthly tonnage is a supply arrangement, and it is decided by a person looking at your grade, your volume, your cadence and our stock position. Message the requirement on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926 — the volume, the grade, the delivery frequency and the city. You will get a straight answer, including "not at that volume" when that is the truth, which is more useful to you in September than a vague yes.
Do not plan a year's supply from a blog post. Send the monthly tonnage, the grade, the delivery cadence and the delivery city and get a direct answer on what we can and cannot hold for you — including a straight no.
Send a volume requirement

Grade continuity is a manufacturing requirement, not a preference

A maker who receives a slightly different wax loses a batch. A manufacturer who receives a slightly different wax loses a season.

This is the largest procurement risk at your scale and it almost never appears on a quotation. Soy crops vary, refining runs vary, and suppliers reformulate. When a grade changes quietly — two degrees of melt point, a different additive package, a different flake density — the candle does not fail loudly. It fails in ways that read as somebody else's fault: more frosting, a slower melt pool, a hot throw customers call weaker without saying why, a top surface that pits where it used to set flat.

At 200 units a month you catch that in a week and re-test one recipe. At 5,000 units a month with a twelve-scent range you are re-testing twelve recipes, each of which needs a wick check, a cure period and a burn test — and if you are mid-season you are doing it while the orders are still arriving. Assume a 14-day cure before you can judge anything, plus burn testing, and a full range re-validation is realistically three to four weeks of elapsed time. In the run-up to Diwali you do not have three to four weeks.

Continuity · what to demand and what to document
Five items. None of them cost money. All of them cost a phone call if you skip them
Demand this Why Document it as
Identical grade naming on every invoice "Soy wax 10 kg" on one invoice and "CSI 464 flakes 10 kg" on the next may or may not be the same material. You cannot audit what is not named consistently Exact product name plus handle, copied from the product page onto your purchase record
Advance notice of any formulation change The difference between a planned re-validation and an unplanned one is the whole cost. Ask for it in writing before you place the first large order A dated WhatsApp message on your supplier thread, screenshotted into the supplier file
A batch or lot reference per intake Without it, a fault six weeks later cannot be tied to a delivery, and you are arguing from memory Your own intake number if the supplier does not print one — date plus invoice number is enough
MSDS on request, and IFRA for fragrance Required by serious retail buyers, marketplaces and export customers; also your own safety baseline A dated PDF in the supplier folder, re-requested annually
One retained sample per intake The only thing that turns "the wax changed" into a demonstrable claim 250–500 g sealed and labelled with the intake number, kept 12 months

The practical control is narrower than people expect: do not run a range across two nominally similar grades at the same time. If eight scents are on CSI 464 and four have drifted onto Luxury Soy Chunks because 464 was short one week, you have two production standards in one building and no way to attribute a fault. Pick the grade, write it on the recipe sheet, and treat a substitution as a change requiring a test — because it is one. The verification routine for an incoming grade is in how to verify wax quality before you buy.

A supplier who tells you the formulation changed is worth more than a supplier who is ten rupees a kilogram cheaper and does not.
— CandleMakingSuppliesIndia

Incoming goods QC, and the paperwork that makes it enforceable

Most units at 1,000 to 5,000 a month have a good outgoing QC habit and no incoming one at all. The wax arrives, somebody signs, the bags go on the rack — and that is where traceability is lost, for free. The routine below takes a few minutes per delivery and a weighing scale you already own.

1
Check the bag before you accept itLook for splits, resealing, moisture staining and heat damage. Wax that has been through a hot transit and partially fused in the bag will behave differently at the melter even when the material is fine. Note the condition on the delivery note at the door, not afterwards — once the vehicle has gone, a damaged consignment becomes your problem to prove.
2
Weigh a sample of the bags, not all of themAt 92 bags a month, weighing every one is theatre. Weigh five per consignment on a weighing scale (₹354) and record the actual figures against the nominal 10 kg. If a sample comes up consistently light, weigh the rest. If it does not, you have a record showing you checked — and at 920 kg a month a systematic 1% shortfall is 9.2 kg, about ₹4,668 at CSI 464 rates, every month.
3
Record the intake batch against your production batchThis is the step that makes everything else useful. Every production batch sheet should carry the wax intake number it drew from, the fragrance intake number, and the wick type and size. When a customer complaint arrives in January about a candle poured in October, you want to be able to name the wax delivery in under a minute. The per-batch record framework carries over from scaling to 1,000 orders a month.
4
Retain a sample from every intakeSeal 250–500 g in a labelled bag with the intake number and date and keep it for twelve months. It costs about ₹127–₹254 of CSI 464 per delivery, and it is the only way to compare "the wax we have now" against "the wax that worked" — turning a subjective argument with a supplier into a side-by-side test. Candle units skip it almost universally.
5
Run one pour from every new intake before committing the range to itOne jar, your standard recipe, your standard wick, poured from the new bags. Check set, surface, adhesion and time to full melt pool against your recorded baseline. If it matches, release the intake to production. If it does not, you have found the problem before 5,000 units carry it.

On paperwork, three things are worth insisting on at every order and all three are ordinary requests. First, a GST invoice in your company's registered name, not a personal name and not a delivery-address name — your input credit and your own audit trail both depend on it, and retrospective corrections are painful. Second, MSDS on request for the wax and IFRA documentation on request for every fragrance oil you buy; CSI supplies both on request via WhatsApp, and large retail and marketplace buyers increasingly ask for them before onboarding a supplier. Third, consistent grade naming on the invoice — the exact product name as listed, so that six invoices from six months form an auditable series rather than six differently worded guesses.

Ask for the documentation before you need it
The worst time to request an MSDS is the afternoon a retail buyer asks for one. Request the documentation set for every grade and every oil you use at the point you standardise on them, file it by supplier, and re-request annually. GST invoicing, MSDS and IFRA documentation are available on request from CSI on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926. Where you source everything else in the bill of materials is covered in candle making materials for commercial production and wholesale raw materials across India.

Lead time, festive demand and the Diwali crush

Diwali 2026 falls on 8 November. Work the calendar backwards from that date with a real cure in it and the wax order is not a November decision or even an October one. Here is the chain, using a 21-day cure for woody, gourmand and oriental scents — which is most of a festive range — and 14 days at the absolute minimum for fresher blends.

Working backwards from 8 November 2026
A 5,000-unit festive run with a 21-day cure
Milestone Date Why this date
Diwali 8 Nov 2026 The fixed point everything else hangs off
Stock with retailer / marketplace 25 Oct 2026 Two weeks ahead, so the sell-through window is real and not a weekend
Packing and outgoing QC complete 22 Oct 2026 Three days for labelling, boxing and dispatch on a 5,000-unit run
Pour complete 1 Oct 2026 21-day cure ending 22 October
Wax in your building 27 Sep 2026 Pouring 920 kg is not a one-day job; you need stock on hand before you start
Order placed ~20 Sep 2026 Transit across India, plus stock confirmation on a 92-bag order

Read that last row honestly. It is September now. If you are pouring a 5,000-unit Diwali run with a 21-day cure, the wax order window is closing this month, not next. Shorten the cure and you buy a week at the cost of the thing customers judge: a candle at day seven does not smell like the same candle at day twenty-one. Discover this in mid-October and you have three options, all bad — ship under-cured, cut the range to the fastest-curing scents, or miss the window. The same arithmetic applies to fragrance and is worked through in how early candle brands should order fragrance oils for Diwali, with the festive scent selection in best fragrance oils for festive bulk orders.

The festive stock-out risk cuts both ways, including against us. September and October are when every candle unit in India orders at once, and a grade that is freely available in June can go short in October — on the pull date behind this page, Soy Wax 464 Pellets were out of stock, and that is an ordinary occurrence, not an exceptional one. If a single grade carries your whole festive range, you are carrying a single point of failure. Either hold buffer stock of your own, or confirm availability for the full quantity in writing before you build the production plan around it. Do not assume, in October, that what the site showed in August is still true.
Against our own interest: if your monthly requirement is genuinely above a tonne of a single grade and it is stable month on month, it is worth pricing a direct mill or importer arrangement alongside us before you commit to a year. We would rather you ask the question now than discover the answer in month eight and leave. What we are good at is range breadth, documentation, grade consistency and a WhatsApp thread with a person on it — 15 wax grades, 92 fragrance oils, 7 wick lines, and jars, moulds, dyes and packaging in the same order. What we are not is the cheapest possible tonne of commodity soy.
Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. On a page aimed at manufacturers the commercially convenient thing to do is imply unlimited depth and let you find out later. We have done the opposite: the pack table above states exactly where our listed depth stops, names the grades that stop at 5 kg and 1 kg, and tells you to price a direct mill arrangement against us if your requirement is a stable tonne a month. A manufacturer who outgrows us quietly and leaves is worth less to us than one who asks the question in September and stays because the answer was honest.

Every figure on this page is taken from live CSI stock on 10 September 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing, pack availability and stock always take precedence. Tonnages are arithmetic on stated fill weights, not estimates: 184 g, 135 g and 65 g multiplied by 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 units. Pack counts are built from the pack sizes actually listed on those product pages. We publish 15 wax grades, 92 fragrance oils and seven wick lines; where a grade was out of stock on the pull date it is named as out of stock rather than quietly omitted.

For monthly volume requirements, GST invoicing in your company name, MSDS and IFRA documentation, or a straight answer on whether we can hold a grade for your production schedule, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926 with the grade, the monthly tonnage, the delivery cadence and the city.

Frequently asked questions

How much wax do I need for 1,000 candles a month?
Multiply your fill weight by the unit count. At a 184 g fill that is 184 kg a month — about nineteen 10 kg bags of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464, roughly ₹93,362 at ₹507.40 per kg. At a 135 g fill it is 135 kg (₹68,499) and at a 65 g votive fill it is 65 kg (₹32,981). Fill weight is the wax only — a 200 g candle at a 16 g fragrance load has a 184 g wax fill, which is why the two numbers differ.
What is the largest pack of candle wax CSI sells?
50 kg, and only on Natural Soy Pearl Wax at ₹21,240 (₹424.80 per kg). Every other grade in the range stops at 10 kg — CSI 464 at ₹5,074, Luxury Soy Chunks at ₹5,999, Soy Pillar Wax at ₹6,000, Coconut Soy CSI 468 at ₹6,370 and Beeswax Pellets at ₹8,000. Eco Soy CSI 400 stops at 5 kg. If you need more depth than that, raise the requirement on WhatsApp rather than assuming either way.
Is the cheapest wax per kilogram the cheapest wax to run?
Not automatically. Eco Soy CSI 400 is the cheapest soy in the range at ₹399.20 per kg, which at 920 kg a month looks like a ₹99,544 saving against CSI 464. But it ships in a 5 kg pack, so you receive 184 bags instead of 92, and the extra goods-in labour is real. Add the handling time to the spreadsheet before you switch. The same logic applies to Semi Refined Paraffin at ₹220 per kg, which is the cheapest wax we list and ships in a 1 kg pack — 920 packs for a 920 kg month.
What documentation should a candle manufacturer demand from a wax supplier?
Four things. A GST invoice in your registered company name on every order. MSDS on request for each wax grade and IFRA documentation on request for each fragrance oil — CSI supplies both. Consistent grade naming on the invoice, using the exact listed product name, so six months of invoices form an auditable series. And a batch or intake reference you can tie to your own production batch sheets, so a complaint in January can be traced back to a delivery in October.
When should I order wax for Diwali 2026?
Diwali falls on 8 November 2026. Working backwards with a 21-day cure: stock with the retailer by 25 October, packing done by 22 October, pouring finished by 1 October, wax in your building by 27 September, and therefore the order placed around 20 September. For a 5,000-unit run that window is closing now, not in October. Fresher blends can run on a 14-day cure and buy you about a week, but the candle will not smell the way it does at twenty-one days.
What happens if my supplier changes the wax formulation mid-season?
At manufacturing scale it means re-validating every recipe in the range — wick check, pour, full cure, burn test — which is realistically three to four weeks of elapsed time because the cure cannot be shortened. Protect against it in advance: demand written notice of formulation changes, keep the grade name identical on every invoice, record an intake batch against every production batch, and retain a sealed 250–500 g sample from each delivery for twelve months. The retained sample is what turns "the wax changed" from an opinion into a comparison.

About this guide: Written by the CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA team for candle manufacturing units at 1,000 units a month and above. Product recommendations reflect the CSI range; the tonnage arithmetic, pack-count method, continuity controls and incoming-QC routine apply to any supplier.

Customer reviews: The six reviews at the top of this page are genuine, published Judge.me reviews left by CSI customers on their product pages. Names, star ratings, dates and products are as recorded by Judge.me; two longer reviews are shortened with an ellipsis and are otherwise unedited. Reviews are badged "Verified buyer" only where Judge.me recorded the reviewer as a verified buyer — the Sonal Sahani review is published but not verified-badged, and is shown without the badge for that reason.
