Five Fragrance Oils for a Luxury Candle Collection

A luxury range is defined by its bases, not its top notes. Five scents standing on the same floor of amber, resin, wood and musk — costed from the oil to the jar to the shelf price, with the margin at every rung.
₹4,395
all five at 100g · ≈40 candles of 200g at 6% · CSI live pricing, August 2026
Quick answers — read this first
Which five oils build a luxury collection? Five that share a base family and differ only above it: Sacred Sandal Ember (santal, ₹799/100g), Regal Royal Oud (oud, ₹699), Amber Oud Royal (amber, ₹1,299), Smoked Rose Royale (dark floral, ₹799) and Midnight Bakhoor Royale (incense, ₹799). All five at 100g: ₹4,395.

What makes them a collection and not five candles? The shared base. Amber, resin, wood and musk run underneath all five, so a customer moving between them hears the same house signature. Difference belongs at the top of a fragrance, never at the bottom.

What does each candle cost to make? At a 6% load in a 200g candle: ₹273.38 to ₹345.38 in materials including a black matte jar, wick and soy wax. A 300g candle in an apothecary jar with a dome lid runs ₹516.46 to ₹624.46.

The commercial finding: heavy oud and amber oils work at 6%, not 8% — so four of these five cost less fragrance per candle than a mid-price vanilla run at 8%.
The short answer
Buy: Sacred Sandal Ember, Regal Royal Oud, Amber Oud Royal, Smoked Rose Royale and Midnight Bakhoor Royale — ₹4,395 for all five at 100g, ₹21,295 at 500g.
Why these five: one shared base family of amber, resin, wood and musk, five genuinely separate territories above it — santal, oud, amber, dark floral, incense.
Then: pour at 6%, cure 21 days, put them in one serious vessel, price the range at ₹1,199 for 200g or ₹1,999 for 300g.
One base of amber, resin, wood and musk — and the five things that rise above it Amber Oud Royal · amber laid over the base · the house signature · ₹1,299 / 100g Midnight Bakhoor Royale · incense smoke above it · ₹799 / 100g Smoked Rose Royale · a dark rose above it · ₹799 / 100g Sacred Sandal Ember · sandalwood above it · ₹799 / 100g Regal Royal Oud · dry oud wood above it · ₹699 / 100g
The bars are not the candles. They are only the part of each candle that differs — the floor underneath all five is identical, which is why they read as one house. Most small luxury ranges invert this: five different bases with a superficial theme laid on top, which reads as five products that happen to share a logo.
Straight answer
Which five fragrance oils build a luxury candle collection?
Choose five oils that share a family of base materials — amber, resin, wood and musk — and separate only above it: Sacred Sandal Ember (₹799/100g) as the santal and the range's most saleable single scent; Regal Royal Oud (₹699) as the dry oud, and the cheapest oil here; Amber Oud Royal (₹1,299) as the amber and the house signature; Smoked Rose Royale (₹799) as the dark floral that gives the range its only flower; and Midnight Bakhoor Royale (₹799) as the incense and the darkest thing on the shelf. All five at 100g is ₹4,395 and makes roughly 40 candles of 200g at a 6% fragrance load; all five at 500g is ₹21,295 and makes about 205. Poured into a Black Matte Glass Jar with Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, a 200g candle costs ₹273.38 to ₹345.38 in materials and retails at ₹1,199 to ₹1,499. The shared base is the whole argument: it is what makes five candles read as a designed range rather than five things bought at the same time.
One line: five oils on one base — Sacred Sandal Ember, Regal Royal Oud, Amber Oud Royal, Smoked Rose Royale, Midnight Bakhoor Royale — ₹4,395 at 100g, poured at 6%, cured 21 days, retailed at ₹1,199.
Every scent in this collection ships in 100g, 500g and 1kg. Three of the five are priced flat across all three sizes, so a 100g launch order costs you nothing in lost volume discount. The arithmetic is further down this page.
Shop the luxury tier

Why a luxury collection is defined by its bases

A range is not five scents a customer likes. It is one scent a customer recognises, told five ways.

Ask a small brand how it built its luxury line and the answer is almost always a list: an oud, a vanilla, a jasmine, a citrus, something for Diwali. Five good oils, individually chosen, individually defensible. On a shelf they look like a range. Smelled one after another, they are five unrelated objects, and the customer who loved the first has no reason at all to expect anything from the second.

The fix is structural and it sits at the bottom of the fragrance. Every scent has a base — the heavy, slow-evaporating materials that are still in the room three hours after the candle is lit. In luxury perfumery that base is nearly always drawn from the same short list: amber, resin, woods and musk. When five scents draw their base from that same list, a customer moving between them hears something continuing underneath, even if they could never name it. That continuity is what "a house" means. It is not a logo, a colour, or a font.

This is also the cheapest possible way to buy coherence, because you are not paying for it. You are simply refusing to buy the five oils whose bases fight. A range built of one gourmand, one aquatic, one white floral and two ouds has five bases and therefore no house — and no amount of matching labels will repair it. Difference belongs at the top of a fragrance. Sameness belongs at the bottom. Get that the wrong way round and you have made the single most common mistake in small luxury candle ranges.

The test
Burn any two candles from your range in the same room, one after the other, for thirty minutes each. If the second candle erases the first rather than continuing it, one of them does not belong to your collection. That is a base problem, and it cannot be fixed with packaging.

The five below were chosen against exactly that test. They share the amber-resin-wood-musk floor, and each one owns a territory nobody else in the range touches: a santal, an oud, an amber, a dark floral and an incense. If you want the wider survey of what the luxury tier contains before committing, read the luxury tier guide; this article is the decision that follows it.

The five oils, with prices

All prices are CSI live pricing, August 2026, across the three sizes every one of these oils ships in. Cost per candle is fragrance only at a 6% load — 12g in a 200g candle, 18g in a 300g candle — with wax, wick and vessel added separately in the economics section below.

1
Santal · the opening
Sacred Sandal Ember Fragrance Oil
What it smells like: creamy sandalwood laid over something charred and warm — the ember, not the fire. Milky at the top, dry and resinous underneath, with the smoke reading as temperature rather than as ash.

Its role: the door into the collection. Sandalwood is the one luxury note an Indian customer already trusts, has a memory of, and will buy without a sample. Every serious range needs one scent that sells to somebody who has never bought from you, and in this house it is this one. It is also the cleanest expression of the shared base, which makes it the reference candle you should burn when you are judging whether a new scent belongs.
Size Price Per gram 200g candle @6% 300g candle @6%
100g ₹799 ₹7.99 ₹95.88 ₹143.82

1kg ₹6,999 ₹7.00 ₹84.00 ₹126.00

2
Oud · the anchor
Regal Royal Oud
What it smells like: dry, woody, faintly leathery oud with none of the barnyard sharpness that puts first-time buyers off. Resin and wood in roughly equal measure, and a long, quiet finish.

Its role: the anchor, and the proof that the range is serious. Oud is the fastest signal of luxury available to an Indian candle brand, and this is the version that behaves — it is well-mannered enough to burn in a living room, which is not true of every oud. That it is simultaneously the cheapest oil in this collection at ₹699 per 100g is the first hint of the commercial pattern this article is really about. It is also where the 1kg tier earns its keep: ₹6.50 per gram is the lowest per-gram figure in the range.
Size Price Per gram 200g candle @6% 300g candle @6%
100g ₹699 ₹6.99 ₹83.88 ₹125.82

3
Amber · the house signature
Amber Oud Royal
What it smells like: the base of this whole collection, brought to the surface and made the subject. Golden, balsamic amber with oud woven through it — sweet in the way resin is sweet, not the way sugar is.

Its role: the signature. Because it is essentially the shared base amplified, it is the candle that explains the other four; a customer who burns this one and then any other in the range immediately understands what the house sounds like. Price it as the hero, photograph it first, and put it at the centre of every gift set. At ₹1,299 per 100g it is the most expensive oil in the collection by a wide margin, and it is the only one where the volume tiers move meaningfully — 1kg saves ₹1,350 against ten 100g packs.
Size Price Per gram 200g candle @6% 300g candle @6%
100g ₹1,299 ₹12.99 ₹155.88 ₹233.82

4
Dark floral · the range's only flower
Smoked Rose Royale
What it smells like: rose that has been held down and darkened — smoke and resin sitting over the petals so the flower reads adult rather than pretty. The rose is unmistakable; it simply is not sweet.

Its role: the only floral, and the reason the collection is not entirely masculine in feel. A luxury range with no flower in it converts a narrower audience than it should, but a conventional rose or jasmine would have a soft, powdery base that breaks the house immediately. A smoked rose keeps the amber-resin floor intact while adding the one thing the other four cannot: a recognisable flower. This is the candle that sells to the customer who says she does not like woody candles.
Size Price Per gram 200g candle @6% 300g candle @6%
100g ₹799 ₹7.99 ₹95.88 ₹143.82

1kg ₹7,999 ₹8.00 ₹96.00 ₹144.00

5
Incense · the closing note
Midnight Bakhoor Royale
What it smells like: bakhoor — resin and wood chips on charcoal. Smoke, dry sweetness, a ceremonial heaviness that fills a room faster than anything else in the range.

Its role: the deep end. Every collection needs one product that is unmistakably the most extreme thing you make, because it defines the scale everything else is measured on. It also does specific commercial work in India: bakhoor carries festival, evening and hospitality associations that a Western-styled oud does not, which makes this the scent that Diwali hampers, wedding rooms and hotel lobbies actually order. Expect it to be the range's most polarising candle and do not soften it.

What was rejected, and why

A collection is defined as much by refusal as by selection, and every oil below is genuinely good. Each was left out for a structural reason, not a quality one.

The near-misses
Seven excellent oils that do not belong in this particular five
Oil 100g Why it was rejected
Santal Noir ₹919 A second santal. It is arguably the more refined sandalwood of the two, but running it alongside Sacred Sandal Ember tips the range woody-heavy and wastes a slot. It anchors a different house — see the minimalist collection.
White Royal Oud ₹810 The right note on the wrong floor. Its base is bright, clean and musky-fresh rather than resinous, so it would sit outside the shared base and read as a guest in the range. Correct for a lighter house entirely.
Sultan's Smoke ₹799 Overlaps two picks at once. With Smoked Rose Royale and Midnight Bakhoor Royale already in the range, a third smoke-forward scent makes the collection a one-note line. Swap it in only if you drop the bakhoor.
Dark Vanilla Oud ₹590 The cheapest genuinely luxurious oil CSI stocks, and the temptation is real. Rejected because vanilla pulls the base sweet and gourmand, which softens the house. Ideal as a sixth candle later, positioned as the comfortable one.
Saffron Cedarwood ₹696 The closest near-miss. Base is compatible, but its dry cedar-and-spice territory is already half-covered by the santal and the oud. It is the first oil to consider if you want to replace Regal Royal Oud with something less obvious.
Frankincense and tonka 1kg only, ₹4,035 Perfect base family and by far the cheapest per gram at ₹4.04 — but it ships only as 1kg, so you cannot trial it at 100g. Rejected on launch risk, not on merit. Add it at the second production round once your volumes justify a kilogram.
Khamrah Qahwa ₹1,506 Coffee, dates and spice over an oriental base. Superb, and the most expensive option on this shortlist. Rejected because its gourmand top would make it the loudest thing in the range while costing the most to pour.
The CSI principle
Choose the five bases first. The top notes are the easy part, and they are the only part your customer thinks they are buying.
Five oils that share a base but differ above it will always outsell five better oils that share nothing. Coherence is a product feature, and it is the one a small brand can afford before it can afford anything else.

The low-load finding: luxury oils cost less per candle than the price per kilo suggests

This is the most commercially useful thing on this page. Every one of these five oils looks expensive on a per-kilogram basis — ₹6,500 to ₹11,640 against ₹2,832 for a citrus. That comparison is misleading, because you do not use them at the same load.

Heavy base materials — oud, amber, resin, bakhoor, sandalwood — are efficient carriers in soy. Their molecules are large and slow, they survive a low-temperature melt pool intact, and they keep releasing for the whole burn. Light top notes are the opposite: volatile, quick to flash off, and needing volume to register at all. That is why 6% is the working load for this collection while 8% is the default for a mixed range, and why pushing these particular oils to 8% or 10% buys you sooting, a greasy melt pool and a headache rather than more throw. Blog 90 sets out the load rules by fragrance family in full.

6% against 8% · fragrance cost in one 200g candle
What two percentage points are worth, at 100g launch pricing
Oil @ 8% (16g) @ 6% (12g) Saved Candles from 100g
Regal Royal Oud ₹111.84 ₹83.88 ₹27.96 6 → 8
Sacred Sandal Ember ₹127.84 ₹95.88 ₹31.96 6 → 8
Smoked Rose Royale ₹127.84 ₹95.88 ₹31.96 6 → 8
Midnight Bakhoor Royale ₹127.84 ₹95.88 ₹31.96 6 → 8
Amber Oud Royal ₹207.84 ₹155.88 ₹51.96 6 → 8
One of each ₹703.20 ₹527.40 ₹175.80 30 → 40

A 25% cut in fragrance cost per candle and 33% more candles from every bottle. On a 500g production run of Amber Oud Royal that is 41 candles instead of 31 — ten extra units from ₹5,999 of oil, worth ₹11,990 at a ₹1,199 retail price. The two percentage points you did not pour are the most profitable decision in the whole collection.

The comparison that reframes the whole category. At 1kg pricing and a 6% load, a 200g candle carries ₹78.00 of Regal Royal Oud, ₹84.00 of Sacred Sandal Ember and ₹96.00 of Smoked Rose Royale. A Vanilla Bean candle at the conventional 8% load carries about ₹122 of oil at the same 1kg tier, and even Lavender carries about ₹84. In other words, four of these five luxury oils cost less per candle than a mid-price vanilla, and the oud costs less than lavender — while supporting a retail price two to three times higher. Luxury fragrance is not where a candle brand loses money. Cheap vessels and undisciplined loads are.

Wax compatibility, and why 6% leaves headroom

All five are formulated for candle use and behave across CSI's soy range. The wax sets your ceiling; the load you actually pour should sit comfortably under it, not against it.

Wax selection
Which wax for a luxury range
Wax Best for Load ceiling From
Luxury Soy Wax Chunks The default for this collection. Jar and container candles, generous headroom above a 6% pour Up to 13% ₹299 / 500g
Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (flakes) Single-pour containers, low frosting, strong glass adhesion — the cleanest surface for a clear or frosted jar Up to 10% ₹260 / 500g
Premium Coconut Soy CSI 468 The premium-tier upgrade. Smoother finish and a rounder, softer throw that suits amber and resin particularly well Standard ₹325 / 500g
Eco Soy CSI 400 Small batches and sampling. Add fragrance at 80–90°C and stir for a full two minutes Standard ₹399 / 1kg

Wick with Eco Candle Wicks — Thin (C1) at ₹590 per 100 for a 200g jar, Thick (C2) at ₹944 per 100 for the wider 300g format. Wick size is set by jar diameter, never by scent, but an undersized wick will make every oil in this range read as weak. Heavy resins need a melt pool that reaches the glass; if yours does not, work through the weak throw diagnosis before you touch the load.

Collection economics: outlay, yield, cost and margin

Four numbers decide whether this is a business: what the oils cost to stock, what a full first order costs, what one candle costs to pour, and what the range can retail for. All four, with the arithmetic visible.

Step one · fragrance outlay
What the five oils cost, and what they yield
Scent 100g 500g 1kg
Regal Royal Oud ₹699 ₹3,299 ₹6,500
Sacred Sandal Ember ₹799 ₹3,999 ₹6,999
Smoked Rose Royale ₹799 ₹3,999 ₹7,999
Midnight Bakhoor Royale ₹799 ₹3,999 ₹7,999
Amber Oud Royal ₹1,299 ₹5,999 ₹11,640
All five ₹4,395 ₹21,295 ₹41,137
200g candles @6% (12g) ≈40 ≈205 ≈415
300g candles @6% (18g) ≈25 ≈135 ≈275
200g candles @8% (16g) ≈30 ≈155 ≈310

The yield arithmetic: at 6% a 200g candle takes 12g, so 100g gives 8 candles per scent and five scents give 40; 500g gives 41 each and 205 in total; 1kg gives 83 each and 415. A 300g candle takes 18g, so the same tiers give 5, 27 and 55 per scent.

Three of the five have no volume discount at all — check before you over-order. Five 100g packs of Sacred Sandal Ember cost ₹3,995 against ₹3,999 for one 500g pack, so the 500g is ₹4 more. Smoked Rose Royale and Midnight Bakhoor Royale are flat at ₹8.00 per gram at every tier — ten 100g packs cost ₹7,990 against ₹7,999 for the kilogram. Only two oils reward buying deep: Amber Oud Royal saves ₹1,350 at 1kg against ten 100g packs, and Regal Royal Oud saves ₹490. Sacred Sandal Ember jumps to ₹7.00 per gram at 1kg, saving ₹991. The practical rule: launch on 100g across the board and lose nothing, then buy 1kg only of the amber, the oud and the santal.
Step two · the complete first order

At 500g the same order scales to ₹21,295 of oil, four 10kg boxes of wax at ₹23,996, 500 wicks at ₹2,950 and 21 packs of ten jars at ₹14,868 — ₹63,109 for 205 candles, or ₹307.85 each all in, including the wax and jar overage. That is the number to plan a festive season against.

Add packaging — tissue paper at ₹650/100 sheets (₹6.50), a corrugated candle box at ₹1,121/50 (₹22.42) and a candle care sticker at ₹413/500 (₹0.83) — and ₹29.75 goes onto every unit, taking the typical 200g candle from ₹285.38 to ₹315.13.
Step four · the retail ladder
What a luxury range can command, and what it leaves you
Format & price Materials Materials % Gross margin ₹ Gross margin %
200g at ₹899 ₹285.38 31.7% ₹613.62 68.3%
200g at ₹999 ₹285.38 28.6% ₹713.62 71.4%
200g at ₹1,199 ₹285.38 23.8% ₹913.62 76.2%
200g at ₹1,499 ₹285.38 19.0% ₹1,213.62 81.0%
300g at ₹1,499 ₹534.46 35.7% ₹964.54 64.3%
300g at ₹1,799 ₹534.46 29.7% ₹1,264.54 70.3%
300g at ₹1,999 ₹534.46 26.7% ₹1,464.54 73.3%
300g at ₹2,499 ₹534.46 21.4% ₹1,964.54 78.6%

Materials at 30–35% of retail is the workable band for a small Indian brand, and both the 200g at ₹899 and the 300g at ₹1,499 sit inside it — but neither is where this collection belongs. A luxury range should price to its positioning, not to its cost floor: ₹1,199 for the 200g and ₹1,999 for the 300g are the recommended rungs, because they hold a 73–76% gross margin while leaving room for the 15–20% festive discount every Indian candle brand ends up giving. Amber Oud Royal is the only scent that strains the ladder — at ₹345.38 it runs 28.8% of a ₹1,199 retail against 23.8% for the others, returning ₹853.62 rather than ₹913.62. Either absorb it, since it is your hero, or run a two-price range with the amber at ₹1,399.

What the materials figure excludes: labour, printed labels, photography, shipping, payment gateway fees, marketplace commission and breakage. Weigh a real pour before you trust any of this — estimated cost per candle runs 20–30% under actual, because nobody counts the wax left in the jug, the failed pour or the jar that cracked.

The vessel, the size and the package

A ₹1,299 oil in a ₹47 jar does not make an affordable luxury candle. It makes a cheap candle that smells expensive, which is a harder thing to sell.

The vessel is the only part of your candle a customer can assess before buying. Scent is invisible online; glass is not. This is where most Indian luxury launches quietly fail — the oil budget is generous, the jar budget is whatever was left, and the finished object contradicts the price on the label. Spend the jar money. On the numbers above, moving from a ₹47.20 amber jar to a ₹70.80 black matte jar costs ₹23.60 and supports several hundred rupees of retail price. There is no other line item with that leverage.

Vessel options from CSI
What each vessel signals, and what it costs per candle
Vessel Each What it does for the range
Apothecary Glass Candle Jar with Dome Lid ₹212 (500 gm) · ₹250 (700 gm) The flagship choice and the strongest luxury signal in the CSI jar range. The dome lid is what a customer photographs. Correct for the 300g format and for gift boxes.
Black Matte Glass Jar ₹70.80 (₹354/5) The house default for 200g. Hides frosting and wet spots entirely, photographs as a solid object, and reads considered rather than glossy.
Amber Glass Jar with Bamboo Lid ₹171 Warm, apothecary, and the closest to the perfumery cue the amber base is already making. The bamboo lid softens the range for gifting.
White Iridescent Jar with Bamboo Lid ₹150 (300g fill) The affordable 300g route. Saves ₹62 a unit against the apothecary jar and takes the 300g materials cost from ₹534.46 to ₹472.46.
Ceramic containersfrom ₹130 ₹104–₹130 The one format the customer keeps after the wax is gone. Ceramic converts a consumable into an object and justifies the top of the retail ladder better than any label can.
Amber Shiny Glass Jar ₹47.20 (₹236/5) Excellent value and the right jar for a mid-price range. Named here as the one to avoid at ₹1,199 — it is the cheap-jar trap this section exists to prevent.

The size decision: 200g or 300g, not 100g

Luxury is partly a matter of mass. A 100g candle in the hand feels like a sample regardless of what is in it, and at these fragrance prices the economics are also poor — the fixed costs of jar, wick, label and box do not shrink with the wax, so a 100g candle carries the same ₹100 of overhead as a 300g one. 200g is the working size for a luxury range and 300g is the statement size. Burn time roughly doubles between them, which is the specification a customer paying ₹1,999 will actually check.

The commercial shape
Run four scents at 200g and the hero — Amber Oud Royal — at both 200g and 300g. That gives the range one obvious upgrade, one obvious gift, and only six SKUs to photograph, stock and cure.

Packaging closes the argument. Tissue wrap, a rigid outer box and a care sticker add ₹29.75 to a unit, which is 2.5% of a ₹1,199 retail price and the difference between a candle that arrives and a candle that arrives well. Browse packaging materials and glass jars together — deciding them in the same sitting is how a range ends up looking designed. For pairing the five into two- and three-candle sets, blog 79 covers fragrance combinations for premium gift boxes.

Cure, launch timing and the naming discipline

Heavy oud, amber and resin oils bind slowly into soy. Fourteen days is the standard advice for a soy container candle; this collection needs twenty-one. These oils are still gaining hot throw in week three, and a candle judged at day seven will be rejected for a fault it does not have. That single fact reshapes your calendar, because you need the 21 days twice — once for the test pour and once for the production run.

1
Late August — order the five at 100g₹4,395. Pour two 200g test candles per scent as soon as they land, which uses 120g of oil in total and leaves plenty for a second attempt.
2
Late August to mid-September — cure 21 daysLids on, closed box, room temperature, out of sunlight. Do not open them at day seven. Use the wait to settle the vessel, the names and the label.
3
Mid-September — burn-test and decideBurn each in a closed room of realistic size, judging throw at 30 and 120 minutes. Then order production fragrance at 500g and the wax, wicks and jars alongside it.
4
First week of October — pour the production run205 candles from 500g of each scent. This is the last date that works for Diwali on 8 November 2026.
5
Late October — cure, label, pack, launchTwenty-one days takes you to roughly 26 October. Photograph and pack in the last days of the month and go on sale in the first week of November, ahead of the festival.
If you are reading this after mid-September, change the plan rather than the cure. Compressing a 21-day cure to seven days to hit a date produces a weak candle at a luxury price, which costs you the customer permanently. Launch two scents properly instead of five badly, or move the collection to the wedding season that runs November to February and let Diwali go. A late luxury launch is recoverable; a bad one is not.

Naming and copy discipline

Supplier names are not product names. Three of these five contain the word "Royal" or "Royale" and three contain "Oud" — perfectly sensible as raw-material identifiers, and unusable as a retail range, because a customer reading five near-identical names concludes you sell one candle five times. Rename all five under one system, and use the word "oud" in at most one of them.

1
One naming system, applied five timesNumbers, places, times of day or single nouns. Mixing systems — one evocative name, one literal, one numbered — is the naming equivalent of five different bases.
2
Never write "luxury" on the labelA range that has to say it is luxurious has already conceded that the object does not communicate it. Describe the material instead; let the customer draw the conclusion.
3
One shared line, one differing lineBecause the base is common, every product description should carry the same sentence about the house, then exactly one sentence about what rises above it. That is the copy expressing the structure of the collection.
4
Name materials, not moods"Sandalwood, resin and ember" is specific and checkable. "Warm, sophisticated, elegant" describes every candle ever sold and therefore describes none of them.
Five candles become a collection at the bottom of the fragrance, not on the front of the label.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. We have no reason to push you toward the expensive end of the range — we stock oils from ₹300 to ₹24,000 per kilogram, and the most useful finding in this article is that the cheapest oil in this luxury collection is also one of the best in it. What we do have is order data: which sizes get reordered, which scents move from 100g to 1kg, and which sit.

Every price, size and product link here is live CSI stock in August 2026 and links to the product page, where current pricing always takes precedence. Cost-per-candle and margin figures are calculated rather than estimated, and every input is named so you can re-run the arithmetic against your own jar, wick and load.

Frequently asked questions

Which five fragrance oils make a luxury candle collection?
Five oils that share a family of base materials — amber, resin, wood and musk — and differ only in what sits above it: Sacred Sandal Ember (the santal, ₹799 per 100g), Regal Royal Oud (the oud, ₹699), Amber Oud Royal (the amber and the house signature, ₹1,299), Smoked Rose Royale (the dark floral, ₹799) and Midnight Bakhoor Royale (the incense, ₹799). All five at 100g costs ₹4,395 and yields about 40 candles of 200g at a 6% fragrance load. The shared base is what makes the five read as one house instead of five unrelated candles.
What makes five candles read as one luxury collection rather than five separate scents?
A common base. Every scent in a designed range should stand on the same floor of materials — amber, resin, wood, musk — so that a customer moving from one candle to the next recognises a continuing signature underneath. Difference belongs at the top of the fragrance, not the bottom. Ranges that assemble one gourmand, one citrus, one oud and one floral have five bases and therefore no house, which is the single most common mistake in small luxury candle collections.
What does it cost to stock a five-scent luxury candle collection?
₹4,395 for all five at 100g, which yields about 40 candles of 200g at a 6% load, or ₹21,295 for all five at 500g, which yields about 205. A full first order including 10kg of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at ₹5,999, 100 Eco Candle Wicks at ₹590 and 40 Black Matte Glass Jars at ₹2,832 comes to ₹13,816 for 40 finished 200g candles, with wax left over for roughly 13 more.
What fragrance load should luxury oud and amber oils be used at?
Six per cent is the working figure for heavy oud, amber, resin and bakhoor oils in soy, against the 8% most makers default to. Heavy base molecules survive the melt pool and carry, so the extra 2% adds cost and sooting risk rather than throw. At 6% a 200g candle takes 12g of oil instead of 16g, which is 33% more candles from the same bottle. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks accept up to 13% and Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 up to 10%, so 6% leaves generous headroom in both.
What should a luxury 200g soy candle retail for in India?
₹1,199 to ₹1,499 for a 200g candle in a proper vessel, and ₹1,799 to ₹2,499 for a 300g. At ₹1,199 a 200g candle costing ₹285.38 in materials returns a gross margin of ₹913.62, or 76.2%, with materials at 23.8% of retail. The most expensive scent in the collection, Amber Oud Royal, costs ₹345.38 and still returns 71.2% at the same price. A luxury range should carry one price, or at most two.
How long do luxury candles need to cure before launch?
Twenty-one days, not fourteen. Heavy oud, amber and resin oils bind slowly into soy and are still gaining hot throw in week three, so a candle judged at day seven will be rejected for a fault it does not have. Build two 21-day cures into the calendar — one for the test pour and one for the production run — which means a Diwali collection for 8 November 2026 needs its fragrance ordered by late August and its production poured by the first week of October.
