Fix the wax, the jar and the method for the whole line, and let each fragrance vary only its load and its approved wick.
919 kg
CSI 464 for 5,000 × 200 g candles a month across ten fragrance loads
Quick answers — read this first
Can ten fragrances use the same wax and jar? Yes, if each fragrance has its own tested load and wick written on its formula sheet. Fix the wax, jar and method; vary only the listed items.

Should every fragrance use 8%? No. In this example loads run from 7% (Dark Vanilla, Eucalyptus Spearmint) to 10% (Citrus Lemon), each within its page's stated range and confirmed by testing.

How many wicks should a standard line carry? Aim for two approved options, such as Eco C1 and Eco C2 for a jar around 7 cm wide, assigned by burn test per fragrance.

How much fragrance oil do 5,000 candles need? In this example, 81 kg a month, from 7 kg to 10 kg per fragrance depending on load.
The short answer
Fixed: CSI 464, matte 200 ml jar, pouring method and test protocol.
Variable: Load, wick from two approved options, jar colour, cure-check timing.
Monthly cost: ₹1,205,209.80 to ₹1,222,909.80 at listed prices, before packaging and GST.
Monthly fragrance oil by scent (500 candles each)Citrus Lemon 10%10 kgWoody Oud 9%9 kgLavender 8%8 kgBergamot Amber 8%8 kgDark Vanilla 7%7 kgEucalyptus 7%7 kg
Different starting loads change both the oil and the wax per candle; the other four 8% scents also need 8 kg each.
Straight answer
I Want to Produce 5,000 Candles a Month Across Ten Fragrances — How Do I Standardise Wax, Jars and Wicks While Allowing Fragrance-Specific Formulation Differences?
Split the line into what is fixed and what each fragrance may change. Fix the wax (CSI 464 in this example), the jar (matte 200 ml at a 200 g fill), the pouring method and the test protocol. Let each fragrance vary only its load, within its page's stated range, and its wick, chosen from an approved range of two such as Eco C1 and Eco C2. For 5,000 candles in ten fragrances that means 919 kg of wax and 81 kg of oil a month, with loads from 7% to 10%. Jar colour from the same family can hide vanillin yellowing without adding new materials.
One line: standardise wax, jar and method across ten fragrances and allow only load, wick and jar colour to vary, each tested and written down.
Matte 200 ml glass jars come in several colours from one shape, so ten scents can look different on one jar specification.

Decide what is fixed and what each fragrance may change

Ten fragrances on one production line work when the wax, the jar and the method are fixed and only a short, written list of things is allowed to vary.

At 5,000 candles a month, every extra material is another stock line to count, another reorder to remember and another way for the wrong item to reach the pouring table. Standardising is how you keep that under control. But fragrances are not interchangeable: they differ in strength, in how readily they throw, in vanillin content and in how they load the wick. A line that forces all ten into one identical recipe will produce some candles that are too weak and others that soot.

The answer is a two-column rule. One column lists what is the same for every candle on the line. The other lists the few things each fragrance is permitted to change, each with a tested value written on its formula sheet. Anything not on the second list does not change.

Standardisation rule
Fixed for the whole line vs allowed to vary per fragrance
Fixed for all ten Allowed to vary per fragrance (tested and recorded)
Wax: Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 Fragrance load, within each oil's stated range
Jar: matte 200 ml glass jar, 200 g fill Wick, chosen from an approved range of two
Pouring method, mixing time and cooling conditions Jar colour, used to signal the scent or hide wax colour
Thermometer check of every melt, independent of the melter display Cure-check timing, where an oil's page says it builds slowly
Test protocol for any change of batch or supplier Nothing else

CSI 464 is a sensible base for this example because it is a 100% soy container wax in flakes, states a fragrance load up to 10% and costs the same per kilogram at every listed pack, which makes costing ten products straightforward. The matte 200 ml jar comes in several colours from the same mould, so you can vary the look without varying the glass.

Ten fragrance-specific formulas on one base

The loads below are suggested starting points chosen from each product page's own guidance, not CSI recommendations for your system. Every one must be confirmed in your jar with your wick. The jar is 200 g of total candle weight, so oil grams = 2 × load %, and wax grams = 200 minus oil.

Formula sheet
500 candles of each fragrance a month; jar, wax and method fixed
Fragrance Starting load Oil / wax per candle Why this load Oil per month
Lavender 8% 16 g / 184 g Page states 6–10% and rates it Strong 8 kg
British Rose 8% 16 g / 184 g Up to 10% soy, 0% vanillin 8 kg
Jasmine 8% 16 g / 184 g Up to 10% soy 8 kg
Sandalwood 8% 16 g / 184 g Up to 10% soy, 0% vanillin 8 kg
Woody Oud 9% 18 g / 182 g Soy 6–10%; a woody base often needs a little more to project 9 kg
Dark Vanilla 7% 14 g / 186 g Soy 6–10%; vanillin present, so start lower and test colour 7 kg
Roasted Coffee 8% 16 g / 184 g Soy 6–10% 8 kg
Citrus Lemon 10% 20 g / 180 g Page tip: use the upper end, citrus tops fade faster 10 kg
Eucalyptus Spearmint 7% 14 g / 186 g Up to 10% soy; rated moderate to strong 7 kg
Bergamot Amber 8% 16 g / 184 g Page intensity guide: 8% balanced 8 kg

Across the month that is 81 kg of fragrance oil and 1,000,000 g − 81,000 g = 919,000 g, or 919 kg, of wax for 5,000 candles of 200 g. Notice that the varying load changes the wax quantity too: the Citrus Lemon candles use 180 g of wax each, the Dark Vanilla and Eucalyptus candles 186 g. If your production sheet assumes 184 g for every scent, the wax count will drift.

Use jar colour to solve a fragrance problem
The Dark Vanilla page states that its vanillin will yellow white or light-coloured wax and that this does not affect performance. Pouring it into Black Matte or Brown Matte glass from the same jar family hides the change without a separate jar, wax or wick. Coffee, whose page notes slight yellowing in white wax, can share the same approach.

An approved wick range of two, assigned by test

A fixed jar width makes a small wick range realistic. For a jar around 7 cm wide, Eco C1 (₹5.90) and Eco C2 (₹9.44) are sensible candidates to test. Cotton Braided Ready Made wicks are described on their page for diameters over 8 cm, so they are not part of this range. CSI publishes no wick sizing chart, burn rate or melt-pool figure, so the assignment of each fragrance to C1 or C2 can only come from your own burn tests.

1
Pour each fragrance at its starting load.Three candles with Eco C1 and three with Eco C2 per fragrance is a suggested starting point, which is 60 candles across the line.
2
Cure to each page's stated minimum.Soy is 48–72 h on most of these pages. Re-check at later points such as day 7 and day 14 as a suggested schedule.
3
Burn attended and record.Note full melt pool timing, flame height relative to the jar, soot on the glass and whether the jar becomes uncomfortably hot. Extinguish any candle that smokes or flares.
4
Assign one wick per fragrance.Whichever passes cleanly goes on that fragrance's formula sheet. If neither passes, adjust the load within its range and retest, rather than adding a third wick.
5
Lock it.Once assigned, the wick changes only through the same test protocol, never on the pouring floor.
One fragrance fails both wicks. Resist widening the wick range for one scent. First try moving its load one point, because a heavier or lighter load changes how the wick burns. Only if that fails is a third approved wick worth the extra stock line, and then it must be tested against every fragrance that might switch to it.

The monthly order for the standard line

Monthly purchase
5,000 × 200 g candles in ten fragrances, at listed prices
Line Quantity Working Cost
CSI 464 919 kg 91 × 10 kg + 1 × 5 kg + 4 × 1 kg ₹466,300.60
Fragrance oils 81 kg Per-oil kg × 1 kg price, summed ₹355,409.20
Matte 200 ml jars 5,000 500 packs of 10 × ₹708.00 ₹354,000.00
Wicks (all Eco C1) 5,000 5 × 1,000-pack at ₹5,900.00 ₹29,500.00
Wicks (all Eco C2) 5,000 50 × 100-pack at ₹944.00 ₹47,200.00

The fragrance line breaks down as Lavender 8 × ₹5,221.00 = ₹41,768.00, British Rose ₹24,544.00, Jasmine ₹31,384.00, Sandalwood ₹40,214.40, Woody Oud 9 × ₹4,531.20 = ₹40,780.80, Dark Vanilla 7 × ₹7,646.00 = ₹53,522.00, Roasted Coffee ₹29,904.00, Citrus Lemon 10 × ₹2,832.00 = ₹28,320.00, Eucalyptus Spearmint 7 × ₹3,068.00 = ₹21,476.00 and Bergamot Amber ₹43,496.00. The total month lands between ₹1,205,209.80 and ₹1,222,909.80 depending on the wick split, before packaging, labour, shipping and GST.

At this scale the listed 10 kg pack of CSI 464 means more than 90 bags a month. CSI quotes larger wax quantities on WhatsApp (+91 7397976926); it is worth asking, but the costs above assume nothing beyond listed prices. The same is true of the jars: 500 packs is a lot of handling, and the matte jar page notes that some colours go out of stock, so agree colour availability before you build a scent's identity around one.

Keeping the line standard month after month

Standardisation is not a one-off decision. It needs a few habits to hold. Record the batch of every bag of wax and every bottle of oil against the candles it went into. When a new delivery of an oil arrives, pour a small check batch with the approved wick before releasing it to full production. Check every melt with a separate thermometer, because the Electric Wax Melter's page states a ±10°C deviation on its display, and add each oil below its published flashpoint rather than at the melter's maximum. Keep cracked or chipped jars out of the line entirely.

Handled this way, ten fragrances share one wax, one jar and two wicks, and the only differences on the floor are the load and the wick written on each fragrance's sheet. That is the balance the question asks for: one system for purchasing and pouring, and just enough flexibility for each fragrance to burn at its best.

Argue against interest
Standardising does not mean buying one of everything from us.
A line of ten scents can run on one wax, one jar and two wicks. Every extra material you add is a stock line to manage, so add one only when a fragrance has failed every approved option.
Fix the platform, and let each fragrance change only what is written down.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials and production equipment, not finished candles. This guide separates general candle-making practice from what CSI's own product pages state, says plainly where CSI publishes no figure (wick sizes, burn times, hardness), and labels every wick, load, test count or margin as a starting point for your own validation.

Prices are live CSI prices from October 2026; product pages are authoritative. Where a spec is not published — such as a wick size for your jar, a mould's cycle life or a wax's survival temperature — this guide says so rather than filling the gap.

Frequently asked questions

How do I standardise candle production across many fragrances?
Fix the wax, jar, fill weight, pouring method and test protocol for every candle. Allow each fragrance to vary only its load and wick from a short approved list, recorded on its own formula sheet.
Can I use the same wick for all my candle fragrances?
Sometimes, but do not assume it. Fragrance and load change how a wick burns, so test each scent with every wick in your approved range and assign the one that passes.
Why does wax quantity change when fragrance load changes?
Load is a share of total candle weight. A 200 g candle at 10% uses 20 g oil and 180 g wax; at 7% it uses 14 g oil and 186 g wax.
How can I stop vanilla candles looking yellow in a standard range?
The Dark Vanilla page states its vanillin yellows light wax without affecting performance. Using a Black Matte or Brown Matte jar from the same family hides it while keeping the jar specification unchanged.
Does CSI offer bulk pricing for 900 kg of soy wax a month?
CSI lists packs up to 10 kg for CSI 464 and quotes larger quantities on WhatsApp (+91 7397976926). Ask for a written quote, and cost at listed prices until you have one.
What should I do when a new batch of fragrance oil arrives?
Pour a small check batch with the approved wick and load before releasing it to full production, and record the batch against the candles it goes into so any change can be traced.
